The best fish and chips we've had in years. Generous portion of freshly cooked fish in crispy batter. There's only one thing that would make them better... malt vinegar for us Brits.
What a fantastic selection you have! Loved the fresh fish and chips and the kiwi burger was a hit, it was so big!
Your salt and pepper squid was something I would of expected from a restaurant🍽
Very generous portions and well priced.
Great job!
Quick friendly service from the people in the shop and an amazing burger at a great price! Go Murph and the team!!
Great fresh seafood, was filleting the fresh salmon just before cooking it..
A great size burger for the price and it tasted great too. Great chips nice, fresh and crisp.
Thanks for the tasty fish and chips. The boys actually ate their fish bits, and my fish burger was delicious. Loved all the fresh vege on it.
Best fish and chips in Akaroa. Crunchy and served with a Amalie.
Yey, amazing fresh crispy battered fish, great chips and awesome burgers. Love this place!!
The best in town, well worth stopping in. Awesome, love it
Great fresh locally caught fish. Awesome shop and beautiful tasty fish n chips will be our new local when in town. Everyone should support these guys when visiting Akaroa!
Best fish and chips I've had for years. A must for a nice lunch.
Just had groper an gurnard for tea. Was great. Will be back. Service was great also
Best fish and chips ever!!! Akaroa cod was delicious! !
Cheap as chips but 5 star taste! And speedy service, too :)
A very busy little fish and chip shop with a rustic outdoor seating area. Pricing here is quite high, especially compared to city pricing. The burgers are the best value items on the menu and incredibly filling. Your looking at about $10-$15 for a burger. And $16 for Akaroa Salmon
Best quality fish and chips in Akaroa. We tried the others and keep going back to Murphy's. Fish fillets are caught fresh, are larger and nicely battered. Chips are good too.
Best to take your order down to the waterfront and enjoy there. The outside seating at Murphy's isnt the greatest.
Loved the salmon. Definitely a must try. Its crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. They serve fresh fish everyday. Arguably the best fish & chips restaurant in New Zealand. Its about 5 mins walk from the main street. Quaint place with some outside seating when weather permits.
My partner and I have been to fish and chips stores all over New Zealand and we did not expect to find the best one here in Akaroa. Freshly caught fish, cooked to perfection, reasonable prices and generous portions! Recommended if you're in Akaroa
Amazing fish and chips! Huge portions and the quality was excellent. They catch their own fish and only serve it fresh never frozen. Chips are fried to perfection. This place is excellent.
Really liked the battered elephant fish. Also very value for money as the chips came with a huge serving. The only downside is that there were limited seats and many were sited outdoors. When we were there it was raining.
The fish and chips are awesome! Good size fish, the batter is crispy and just good coating and chips r cook to perfection~ really wish that I can find this yummy fish and chip in Christchurch!!!!
This is the best fish&chips I have had in years. It is not as greasy, which is what I complain mostly about other places. What I found best was that there is a good selection of fish to choose between. Elephant, groper and gurnard were what we were suggested on the day. Good is what I went for. Chips just as good and plentiful, one portion good for two people to.
The only complaint could be that there is not too much room inside to eat, and outside can get cold. Ideal as a takeaway.
We got our fish n' chips out in the wharf which is part of Murphy's too. The fish were amazingly cooked and the chips were great! A must try 👍
OMG this is the best fish & chips i have ever had in NZ. The fish & oysters were so fresh & the batter was home made, crispy & yummy. The portion size amazing & prices reasonable. Service really friendly. Youve got to visit here if you ever visit or stay in Akaroa.
