The location is absolutely amazing, it's quiet and you've got some really nice views over the mountains around you. Plenty of tables outside. Had the raspberry cheesecake and it was delicious. Just a shame they don't have the Wi-Fi (would have been 5 stars). And I found one of the waitress pretty rude. But can't be perfect. Would definitely recommend it after walking up the big clock.

One of the first things we did in Alex was walk to the Shaky Bridge and the winery beyond that. My friends and I enjoyed their house white blend. We all were fans. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

My new favourite place! Enjoyed some delicious bagels for lunch, beautiful setting, sitting in the shade of a big old tree. There's even space for the kids to run around without bothering everyone too much! Love it. Can't wait to come back.

Nice and friendly staff, good tasty food. Been there while it was boiling water notice, arrived a bit earlier before their opening, however they served tea and cabinet food go us, really appreciated. Definitely worth a visit.

Under new owner Adam (a chef from Dunedin) there's definitely a good focus on food. I hope locals and tourists support this cafe as it's slightly out the way, so needs customers to ensure it stays afloat as a business. With what Adam brings in terms of food and wine focus, this changes this place up from previously being a cafe. Had a fantastic brunch there - delicious. We'll be back for dinner.

Don’t let its out-of-the-way location stop you from visiting: Shaky Bridge Bistro is a terrific place to enjoy a leisurely meal. The menu is small but the dishes we sampled were first rate, thoughtfully prepared from the freshest of ingredients. Proprietor Adam is a congenial host and rightfully proud of his new venture.

The best bagel I've ever had! Absolutely delicious food and beautiful setting. Can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon than basking in the Central Otago sun enjoying the food, will definitely be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed the meal we had here over the weekend. The lamb was the best example of fine dining I have experienced in the Clyde Alex Ophir area. Others in the party had the salmon, chicken and vegetarian meals and said similar. Presentation was interesting, favours delicious and service from Adam attentive and pleasant. Despite all this the cost was less than you might pay for a steak and chip meal at some of the local bistros!

The Shaky Bridge Bistro is an absolute delight and a must for any person who enjoys fine dining and staff with fantastic knowledge of wine. The staff are wonderful, I must say that this is probably up there with some of the best service the NZ dining scene has to offer. Overall I highly reccomend the Shaky Bridge Bistro, an absolutely wonderful place for coffee or dinner!

Divine meal, excellent service, wonderful atmosphere and delicious glass of their Sharky Bridge riesling to make a perfect evening. So to service; they fitted us in as a couple (as they were booked out), our waitress was relaxed, friendly, knowledgeable and not overly intrusive, food was fine dining, ie refined, beautiful flavoured from entré to dessert and adaptation for my having coeliac disease was unnoticeable. Incidentally they said as I had coeliac disease they prepared on a different surface. All in a lovely setting, inside and out.

I enjoyed a fabulous chicken sees a salad. My dinner companion enjoyed the potato rosti with salmon. It was very windy when we were there, but we managed to find a sheltered area.

A new incarnation with an Italian influence. Delicious food and wonderful friendly (and efficient) service. The gelato looks great. Will be back on a warmer day to give it a try 🤗🤗

Stopped in for lunch today. Had a bit of a wait on food, however the staff were really nice and the food was awesome (huge portions). We also got a a free coffee and slice for the extra wait. Thank you :)
