Was a very delicious experience. Service was a bit slow on occasion, but we were a party if 14 and the restaurant got packed. However. The ambience was sweet, the food was delicious (wagyu beef was amazing as was the linguine, the potato skins and the tortellini. Definitely recommended.

Lovely atmosphere with a very colorful, fully-stocked bar. The chicken and the pappardelle with scallops main dishes were both excellent.

This was our first booking through First Table and it was amazing! The timing was perfect for dinner before a concert. There were only two or three other couples in the whole restaurant, so it felt like we had the place all to ourselves. We wondered whether we would experience a lower standard of service because we were getting the food for half price, but if anything we got special treatment. Service was prompt and attentive. They gave us complementary fresh-baked bread with oil before dinner. The cocktails were superb - powerful tastes - they do not skimp on ingredients or water them down. The eye fillet steak was nice - at least 8/10. But the chicken was unbelievable - the tenderest we have ever eaten - 10/10. The dessert of roasted peach and dark chocolate gelato was excellent. The portion sizes were perfect for us, but be aware that you dine at Cooke's for the taste and quality, not for the quantity. The presentation is top-notch. The chef and bartender each personally came to the table to check that their work was up to standard. We would not often dine at a restaurant of this calibre, but First Table made it affordable, and we are so glad that we did.

Our date night at Cooke’s Restaurant & Bar was amazing. Special shout out to Sam and the other waiters who made our visit memorable, as much as the delicious food clearly curated by accomplished chefs. Also one of the best cocktail’s my partner has ever had. He started with the Kokoda trevally entree which was incredible, and one bite left me wishing I’d ordered my own! Next we both had the fish of the day (me with kumera fries, and he with potato skins). Generous proportions and beautiful flavours … we probably should’ve stopped there but the alluring temptation of dessert called out to us! I had the summer berry tart and he had the crème brûlée… both equally delicious. Throughout the meal Sam was very attentive, professional, and explained various details very well. Nice surprise&delight moment with chefs complementary warm bread. We won’t hesitate to return and bring friends!

Popped in here for lunch and could not have been happier. The atmosphere was calm and soothing, a respite from the street. My partner and I both had the fish of the day with puy lentils, smoked cabbage purée and fennel, and it was gorgeous. My daughter had the spaghetti bolognese from the kids' menu and said it was the best meal she'd ever had. For dessert I had the panna cotta and my partner had the poached pear. Both were super delicious.

Was here for a business lunch Spring 2022 with some co workers while visiting Auckland. Located in downtown CBD with plenty of dining and shopping around. Fancy restaurant in a nice hotel (Sofitel) it has a colonial feel to it. Set up feels like a cafe very open more so than formal restaurant. The menu is not super extensive but feels refined. Usual offering of pasta, seafood, steak and fowl. I had the gnocchi pasta while others had the steak. Fried butter milk chicken and polenta fries to start - all very well done. Only drawback is the price. Service was great.
