Absolutely fabulous restaurant with amazing views and food. I normally don’t like seafood but the King Salmon was out of this world. The food also came out incredibly quickly and service was incredibly good.
In Auckland for a business conference, locals recommend this restaurant. Welcomed by well mannered staff. We were amazed by the beautiful night view of Auckland. Started the night with starters, spicy calamari, scallops and mushroom risotto. All are very nice. Followed with two main dishes: crayfish and snapper two side dish: potato and green vegetable. Excellent food and great service. Highly recommend.
No faults here. Amazing customer service. Awesome food.
This establishment deserves recognition for customer service. The the time we set foot in the door we felt welcomed. Compared to most restaurants around Auckland.
Our waiter was exceptional and always attended to our needs without asking. Always ensured we were looked after, water topped up, check how our food was etc. The correct utensils for the food we ordered etc etc I could go on with and continue ticking the boxes for this establishment.
Well done Sails Restaurant, Botswana butchery waiting staff and chefs should take a leaf out or better off the entire manual on hospitality. Top notch thank you for the experience will be back with a group next time.
Recently celebrated our 11th anniversary at Sails and it was an unforgettable experience. The eye fillet paired with crayfish was succulent and cooked to perfection. The sashimi was fresh and flavourful, and their homemade focaccia bread – soft, warm, and served with a delectably rich butter/sauce – was a highlight. What truly elevated our evening was the impeccable service we received; attentive, warm, and top-notch. To top it all off, the stunning view of the harbour bridge added to the ambiance. Highly recommend for special occasions or just a gourmet treat!

I enjoyed my 29th birthday there! Staff was so attentive! I felt like a princess 😳 the food was amazing, we booked the set menu. Also we ordered crayfish, was my first time trying it and it didn’t disappoint. Thank you for the experience.
Absolutely sensational in every way!
The Sashimi was gorgeously fresh, the Beef Tartare was sublime.
The Surf & Turf was faultless! The Agria Gratin was AMAZING!, the steaks & crayfish were cooked to perfection & to our taste. The sauces were masterful. To top it all off the staff were friendly, professional, & took the time to have a little banter & discussion. Ivan deserves a special mention…..he was fabulous! We were delighted that the song list chosen were ALL our favourites and really made the dining experience- along with the stunning view….
Couldn’t recommend highly enough…. Be back VERY soon……😉👍
BTW - returned later to get our menus signed as we’re going to frame it….. Renee was very very helpful & accomodating. Many thanks 🙏🏻👍
We had a fabulous birthday celebration for my dad with a beautiful table by the windows, attentive and charming staff and delicious food. Quite good value and highly recommended. No wonder the restaurant has been successful for many decades… they have kept pace with customer expectations brilliantly.
The best restaurant in Auckland. Period. The dishes are fresh and nice with beautiful presentation. Staff are friendly and attentive. The view over the marina with harbor bridge and Auckland CBD high rises backdrop. This is the place to go for all my important celebrations. Brilliant place!
Wow.. what an amazing experience. Thank you so much to the staff for being so helpful and lovely the entire night. The food was phenomenal, flavours were so well put together and food came really fast! We ordered the set menu and a couple things extra but the wait was never long for each dish. Highly recommend king cured salmon, duck and snapper ceviche. you won’t be disappointed. First time coming here and I know I’ll be back. Best restaurant I’ve eaten at so far.
Overall this was an excellent place to eat and the food was delicious. The waiters were also very kind. It also had a great view of the Harbour Bridge.
Outstanding! The 6 course Signature menu is sooo worth it. We loved every mouthful. My photos does not do it justice.
Service was top notch as expected. Great views of the harbour bridge especially if your seated by the window. The food was good but nothing special so doesn't match the high price. Portions were on the smaller end but again expected for such a place
Beautifully crafted dishes eaten on my birthday with my partner.
I got the snapper Ceviche as a starter, which was light and pure. I was kicking myself because my partner got the salmon sashimi which was
I then ate the crayfishtail on a bed of pea puree which was a mixture of sweet and tart.
It definitely needed salt though, but I was too hungry to care about asking and I wanted to taste the sweetness of the crayfish.
Then I had baked cookie dough with vanilla ice cream, Much softer and lighter than a literal cookie, but still a cookie.....albeit a yummy one.
I really should have asked for salt on my table, there was only pepper.
The elegance, service and the view made up for it haha 😆🤣
Just being silly.
Nice experience 😊👌👌
An elegant and modern restaurant for fine dining. Beautiful views of the Marina and yachts. The cured salmon was a delicious starter and very light, which was good. The lamb and beef that we ordered was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. We loved the prompt and welcoming Maître D. The servers were helpful and personable. Unfortunately we had to takeaway our mains so the photos I took do not do it justice but we will definitely be returning to Sails Restaurant. Thank you to the Team!
A stunning spot where the service and food meet the spectacular views - having been to so many restaurants with waterfront aspects who trade off location, I can honestly say Sails does not do this. The food was delectable, service personal and attentive and we will be back soon. Highly recommend.
Couldn't fault it! Staff were attentive and friendly, food was delicious! Would definitely return again for another special occasion.
As my ratings are always a reminder to myself on whether I'd visit again, in this case I probably won't jump to it, but I'm not saying anyone else won't like it. Sails had been on my list for years and finally got to go with a group of colleagues.
I immediately liked the interior lights, bar aesthetic, and the 'infinity' waterfront look (thanks to the mirror walls). Table seating was spacious, set nicely, and everything atmosphere wise was great.
Service was mostly attentive but the downside to it was orders were taken from each person in such a rush that before you could even finish saying which plate you wanted, our waiter was on to the next person before you could request another side or a drink.
As for the food, haha I honestly wish I ate mostly just the entrees and desserts bc the focaccia bread was AMAZING and the fries (I didn't ever think of ordering fries at a place like this but luckily someone else did). Cocktails were also a nice selection (particularly fruity sweet for me haha). But as for the mains, for me personally they were a bit underwhelming (tried both pork cheek and someone else's crayfish tail with scallops) - I left with more of a FOMO feeling by looking at the juicy red venison someone else had ordered.
As for desserts, again I was so torn between multiple items (creme brulee with apples and the mint chocolate drink caught my eyes) but settled with the baked cookie dough with ice cream. It was still good, very fresh and warm, and would even have considered ordering it a second time but I think I still had it in my mind, like the rest of the night, "Would there have been something better I should have gotten instead?" Overall theme for everything.
The food is spectacular, the lamb was cooked perfectly as was their pork and matched the complimentary items on the plate perfectly. Their bread is also baked fresh and delicious - their main dishes don't come with a lot of carbs so these have to be ordered on the side. Only slight downsides are the lamb knife was quite blunt, and the atmosphere wasn't 100% relaxed, though the customer service was very good.
