SO GOOD
Only came here for desserts tonight - and it's amazing. The Dulce De Leche Cheesecake is not overly sweet and is perfectly balanced with citrus elements, making it pretty much a perfect dish. The dark chocolate fondant is so good....baked very well while still retaining the gooeyness in the middle, YUM! Not overly sweet either, and is matched also with citrus elements - felt the mandarin sorbet was slightly overpowering the fondant when eaten together, but very nice when eating it separately, sorta acting like a palate refresher haha. Overall, awesome experience
Food was perfect and staff very friendly. Highly recommend this place.
Perfect , fast service yum
omg had this beef short rib @ little jimmy. this was great as i was hanging out for some beef. this is a great lil restaurant with a nice ambience and great service! the food is next level! I wanna go back 4 brunch soon.
I love Little Jimmy. I can walk there - good vibe - friendly welcoming front of house and wait staff. Food is consistently fab. I recommend it.
Slight downside. Quite noisy.
Ordered the crumpets and smashed avocado for brunch. Those crumpets were DIVINE not something I would have gotten normally only because I’ve only ever had the ones from the supermarket but I’m glad with my choice and those doleps of lemon cream I could have eaten on its own In a bowl 😍😍. Staff were friendly and attentive
An elegant eatery hidden on Manukau Road.
Service: 9/10
We had made a reservation so we were immediately seated upon arrival.
The waitress was very polite and brought us menus and water.
The food was also made in a decent amount of time.
The waitress was very knowledgeable in knowing what to do with our voucher and she efficiently completed our payment.
Food: 9/10
We ordered the potato gnocchi and market fish.
The potato gnocchi was uniquely shaped, and looked kind of like tofu. The gnocchi was very chewy and had a strong potato flavour. The sauce had a creamy mushroom flavour with additional mushrooms mixed in to add texture. It was topped with crispy battered beans and peanuts for a crunch.
Ambiance: 10/10
There is relaxing music playing throughout the restaurant to minimise awkwardness during meals.
The black modern furniture and dining tables provide a comfortable yet elegant setting.
The warm yellow lights also boast comfort and a homey vibe.
The cutlery also makes the theme of the restaurant more unique.
I’m really glad I had that voucher because I have now discovered this wonderful eatery.
Best dinine at epsom. Got awesome food and pretty drinks. Staffs are all nice and friendly, really helpful. Ingredients are fresh, love their fabulous decor and table wares.
Awesome food and great drinks. Their signature beer is so smooth, so satisfying and so addictive. The customer service team was amazing despite the fact that the restaurant was packed when my friend and I got there. the food itself was great. it was satisfying And very hearty a little on the dry side but the complementing salads made it taste perfect.
Will definitely be back here
Good food nice coffee.
The food was amazing.
Service was nice as well as the environment.
Parking is good just in front of the shop.

A bit pricey for what it is. The owner of Little Jimmy's also owns One Tree Grill and also the new Good Luck Coconut in the city so obviously they know how to run a restaurant. The quality of the food was good and the flavours were amazing but a tad on the expensive side. I would rather spend more and go to One Tree Grill.
Solid casual spot to grab a quick feed, located in the middle of Epsom it has a informal yet jazzy vibe, the decor is great! We ordered the fish and the burger, both of which were absolutely spectacular, the fish was fresh and flavoursome while the burger was tender and oozing with bacon and cheese! It's mid range in price but it's well worth! The staff are attentive and friendly as well.
Went last night with my husband for dinner. Amazing service, beautiful food, delicious dessert and great wine and beer selection. Probably one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Auckland for a long time. They were fully booked and very busy but this didn’t compromise anything. 10/10
Lovely restaurant in Greenwood’s corner. Went for dinner and decided to go for the smaller plates and share! We had the pork croquettes 5/5, raw trevalli in coconut cream 4/5 and the goat curry 4/5. Service was great! Tables a little bit too close for comfort!!

I had the pork belly with asparagus on the side and chocolate fondant. Food was AMAZING. The pork belly is one of the best I've had in Auckland, and the slaw on the side was really refreshing. The fondant was gorgeous too, so gooey in the middle! The place was quite busy, so service was a little slow. Even though we had asked for still water at the start of the evening, the waitress started pouring sparkling. A minor detail as the rest of the service was on-point, if slow. It took a LONG time for us to get our mains, but we were happy as the drinks were flowing! (Might be a tactic of theirs now I think about it - lol). The lighting in this place is definitely not good for people who struggling seeing in dim light. I would go earlier in the night if that's the case, before they start dimming the lights. We sat upstairs, which was awesome as gave us good access to the bathroom and was a bit quieter for better conversation. Love the decor at this place too. Only not giving a 5/5 due to the slow-ish service and the lighting meant my Dad struggled a little.
Such a nice and cosy restaurant. They are same owner at one tree grill restaurant. I like the food here we have west coast trevally. Taste so good also like fish and lamb here too. Dessert also very nice lemon cream not too sweet.
Had driven past this place a couple of times and finally got to try it out recently for dinner. I got the beef burger and I could not fault it. It was full of flavour and cooked to perfection! The curly fries are pretty addictive too. Really good customer service as well!
Great food, yummy flavours, excellent service. Went last year before Adele concert so big group and was well looked after, only disappointment was size of my meal for the price $32-34 I order the fish and the flavours were incredible but only had two little squares of fish, not sure if it was a mistake or not as other pictures of the the same meal looked bigger? Otherwise really good food and service, plan do do brunch there soon 😀
Went here for dinner with my boyfriend and the place is so cosy. We opted for chefs choice menu and each dish was amazing, done so well, tasted different from the previous one. I must say the chefs done an amazing job to put it all together. Also the staff was friendly. I highly recommend this place.
Little Jimmy’s food was really good, something i would say that will leave a mark in your memory making you crave for more 😋 the plating was beautiful and very modern. The interior was unique, manly yet classy and i loved the staff uniform! I wish I read more about the place before heading there so I went on a day that it was just me and my husband. I repeat, it’s not a smart idea to bring your toddlers in this place! Just being honest to all parents out there. I have 2cheeky under 5 boys 😆 otherwise, service was good and the whole experience would definitely make me come back.
Stopped by for lunch and it wasn't too busy so we were led to a table immediately. We were given menus then promptly forgotten. Took a while to get the attention of a waitress to order. We ordered a few things to share. The lamb ribs and the pork croquettes were delicious but really expensive, around $20 a plate. It is more of an entree than a meal since they weren't served with anything.
Didn't come out full but fairly satisfied with the quality of the food.
Little Jimmy’s was full at 6 pm on a Saturday. Luckily we booked. The place was humming. The mushroom noochi was delicious, if not a bit over seasoned for my taste. My friend had no problem with the seasoning. Service was polite, a bit slow , but it was a very busy so understandable. I love how they only use NZ products. Will definitely go back.
Every dish was delicous, couldn't fault anything with the food, the highlights were the lamb ribs and dessert. The service was efficient, would recommend coming here for a fancy dinner out.
Every year ourselves and our friends like to have a girlie Christmas get together over lots of bubbles and delicious food. It’s a chance to catch up before the chaos of Christmas takes over and before people head away for the festive season. The venue of choice this year was Little Jimmy in Epsom. Fairy lights strung up at the entrance created a cosy and festive ambience and welcomed us in to the inviting space.
I love that everything is sourced from NZ, even the alcohol! The food was incredible, I couldn't fault it. My only negative is that it's a bit pricey - however it would be a great place for a special occasion. Good service and environment
Overall: very tasty food, great service, nicer place. Would go back for sure
Food: Went here on a GrabOne deal and received the fixed menu. Good choices of entree and mains (4 each) to cover most options including vegetarian with 2 options for dessert. I had pork croquettes which were nice and soft, lightly crumbled and well presented. Wife had trevally made in a coconut curry like a cerviche and enjoyed that. Mains were pork belly and braised beef cheeks and both were delicious. Not sure how the animal providing the beef was raised but it was super soft and tender. Side of charcoaled green beans was a nice accompaniment. Dessert was both options, the chocolate torte was rich, salted caramel ice cream quite salted but nice. The Epsom Mess was sweet yet enjoyable. Note that my taste buds aren't very sweet as I typically avoid sugar. Overall very nice.
Service: can't fault it, asked for wine recommendations and received a decent response showing knowledge. The food arrived in timely manner, water topped up as needed, plates cleared etc all as expected.
Ambience: it's a small venue, the relative conversations around meant you had to lean forward to talk slightly louder than normal to hear but nothing untoward. Nice background music, did like the overall styling of the restaurant. Loved the cutlery 😁
Went with a friends last evening to have a few drinks and some tapas. Food and service was awesome, especially the sourdough base pizzas. A bit pricey though.
Beautiful food. Had the beef cheeks and green beans. Very small portions so was glad I ordered a side. Very expensive (for the portion size)...but lovely flavours. Was upstairs with a group and there was another table...while they weren't being loud...the acoustics made it hard for our table to talk...
This place was quite a pleasent fine dining experience. The food we ordered was angus beef cheek and beef burger. I could tell that from a bite of the beef burger they were tinder juicy and had that different spices which kicks off the taste buds. The beef cheek was not my favourite but still the beef cheek was very soft and tender it melted in my mouth.
Can highly recommend a dinner here. The staff are wonderful and attentive and the food is delicious.
The pork belly and pizzas were a big hit.
Gluten free options a plenty.
Great food, with good ambience and very friendly and prompt service. We had dinner vouchers and had the pork belly croquettes and cauliflower with curry. Cauliflower was amazing! Grilled to perfection with a great curry. Mains were salmon and beef cheeks, both equally awesome. ‘Epsom mess’ as the dessert was probably the weakest dish in both presentation and taste. Overall awesome dining place and will want to come back again to try others on the menu!
Been there before, quite enjoyed it. Got a Grabone deal this time, so we happily went back again. We had the fish and lamb ribs entree, lamb ribs was delicious but a bit too fatty for my liking. Had salmon and pork for main, both nicely cook n good portion. Chocolate Fondant was great too.
Went for an early lunch midweek. Excellent and friendly and attentive service. Food is well presented. Everything on the menu seems top-end prices. Curly fries are good and the gnocchi dish was tasty. The chicken salad was also good. The selection of beers is impressive.
It's a full house on Sunday. With dinner vouchers, we chose a Trevally & lamb ribs as entrées, braised Angus beef cheeks & pork belly as mains, and "Epsom Mess" & dark chocolate fondant as desserts. Everything was nicely prepared, plated & cooked. The weakest dish was "Epsom Mess," being a bit messy in appearance & in taste.
(Food - 4/5; Service - 4/5; Ambience 3/5)
First time here with my boyfriend for date night and we were both so impressed 👌🏼
He got the deal from Groupon which was so worth it for a 3 course meal! 💯 My bf made a booking for two on a Thursday night.
Food:
Appetiser - the both of us picked lamb ribs which were SOOOOO good! A great start to our meals. We both rated it 10/10. They gave us each about 5 pieces, the ribs were tender, juicy, tasty, a great proportion of fat to meat. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. It was probably the highlight of our meal! The portion was so generous, it could've practically been a main. I started off hungry but was satisfyingly full right after.
Mains - My bf got the king salmon and I got the pork belly! The king salmon was pretty good, don't think there would be any regrets if you were to order it, my bf enjoyed his medium rare salmon very much.
On the other hand, the pork belly was surprisingly disappointing. Barely finished the apple slaw with it, found it difficult to even down the pork belly. The skin did not have the nice crisp I'd have expected from a pork belly, there wasn't that good layer of fat with the belly, and the meat was quite tough; the skin was too salty and the meat was rather bland... the brown sauce that came with it tasted exactly like Vegemite (it isn't though; apparently it's beef broth with a bit of sugar and vinegar). We forced ourselves to finish 3/4 of the pork belly. Was rather disappointed as the other reviews seemed good for the pork belly! Wish I would've chosen the beef cheeks instead!
Sides - we got curly fries with aioli! This didn't come with the 3 course meal deal, but it was good curly fries! Stayed crispy from mains to post-dessert. 👍🏼
Dessert - last but not least, we picked the Epsom Mess and the Dark chocolate fondant! By then, we were already struggling to finish our mains because of the generous portions served, but we were super excited for dessert! The Epsom mess is similar to a deconstructed pavlova with a great portion of rhubarb! My bf really liked the top part, particularly the creme fraiche... but when he got to the rhubarb, he found it tangy. However, it goes well overall! A really pretty dessert!
The chocolate fondant was really good too! I was happy with it. The aesthetics of it were really pleasing as well. The fondant suited well with all the components on the plate; but beware, trying the other components alone may or may not make you cringe. The plum gelato on the side is completely bitter, the white powder by it tastes like baking soda and the white cream alone is quite like sour cream; but put them altogether and you'll get a beautifully balanced taste of your dessert! It was fun :) my bf preferred his dessert over mine, and I preferred my dessert over his... so win-win. Portions were huge and we did not finish our dessert...
Ambience/location/setting :
A really nice place at the corner of Epsom! We managed to find a park not far off by the roadside of houses. The setting is really stunning really. A bar is present the moment you enter, dazzling fairy lights at various parts of the shop. We were seated in high chairs by the stairs; a more private area, apart from another table alike directly behind us. There were candles lit on our table, which was romantic; the place had a nice dimness to it, enough to set the mood but not bad for photos too!
Service:
Excellent waiting service! The lady who served us was friendly and quick to cater to our needs. When we asked about the pork belly sauce, she first told us the name of it (which was in French), then came back to tell us what was in it. She asked us how our meal was after the appetiser, and even apologised for the wait.
For a 3 meal course, it took just under 2.5 hours for us to dine. It was well spaced out, I reckon, and the waitress who served us definitely did her part in our dining!
-
Overall, we are both so happy with our experience! The only let down was the pork belly, but we were satisfied. The produce, quality and presentation of food was top-notch! What made it sublime was the generous portions, which made it of great value! We will definitely come back ✨
Wonderful meal - couldn't have been better. Will make Little Jimmys our new favorite. We tried most of the dishes sharing with friends and looking forward to coming back to try the rest.
Came for an after work drink and snacks, was a little disappointed with the snack options just as everything is a bit fancy and pricey, and it wasn't really what we were looking for. I'm sure if you were looking for a fine dining experience then this place would be great.
Great service, nice food but the best is definitely the look and feel of the place. Have been here a couple of times and wouldn't mind coming back!
Had the pork belly and ceviche but tried most of everyone else's dishes also! Everything was amazing but the pork was show stopping. I love the ambience it's not an overly snobby place, but a place that feels like you're at an old friends house. Whenever I get asked to dinner I always suggest little Jimmys, never disappointed!

Dropped by on a friday evening after a trip to the stardome..I wanted something light and decided to order sour dough pizzas and some cider..the food was yum.. other than that, the place was noisy but the wait staff were very attentive and that made up for it
What a lovely little place..Im a fan of One Tree Grill and I was very excited about this new joint..I wasn't disappointed .Service was good..Pretty good wines on the menu..Entree of the croquettes were very yummy and the lamb rib sause was pretty amazing..
Mains of the salmon was very tasty and fish was cooked perfectly. The elderflower soda is a must try!!!
Another place where the kitchen is open in the middle of the day... came here for a late lunch. Nice place, staff friendly.
We ordered:
Cocktails
Sourdough
Then 2 entrees and 1 main:
Smoked kahawai croquettes
Roasted butternut
Potato gnocchi
The bread was missing butter... oil alone not really enough but everything else was really very tasty.
Went here for dinner and it was really nice. Good service and the food was tasty. Potion size was quite small so left still feeling a bit hungry but that's not always a bad thing. I had the salmon and green side for dinner and Epsom mess for desert. Defiantly recommend the salmon and green sides. They were really delicious.
I have been here a couple of times and have enjoyed everything I've ordered and the service is always spot on.
There were some lamb ribs with crispy skin on the menu that kicked arse.
A grilled pineapple dessert and a meringue and berry dessert that were delicious and presented beautifully.
I will be back of course.
We had my daughter's birthday dinner here in the upstairs function room and we couldn't have been happier with the staff, service and food. The children all ordered from the kids menu and they LOVED the food, whilst we ordered pizzas and sides for the adults, all of which were delicious and fresh. Thank you Little Jimmy for an amazing night! We'll be back!
Really enjoyed the atmosphere here, just one slight problem I found the tables were soo close together and getting up and down was abit of a hassle but the most important thing was the food, an it did not disappoint! I got the beautiful piece of pink Akaroa salmon, dipped in sweet wasabi paste. It had the crunch and sharpness from a little bed of pickled and distantly curried kohrabi, and the occasional salty mouth-pop of bright orange roe which garnished the plate. Yumm
I cannot believe this gem is so close to my house! I came with my baby daughter on Mother's Day and had the best dining experience I have had this year. The food was fascinating and kept me interested.
The salmon bagel was the best in New Zealand. Although best ugly bagel, but they advanced the taste even further!
I will be back within the next week for sure.

Shared 3 small plates between 2 people - there was plenty of food to go around. Great food and service. Love the industrial decor. Can't wait yo go back :)
I was tempted to rate 0/5 because little jimmy has ruined beef checks for me forever.
They increased my standards for beef cheeks to way too high!! Omg 🤤 melts in your mouth.
The croquette was crispy and flavourful, the lemon added zest kicks your taste buds into overdrive.🤤
Lamb racks were so fatty and juicy with very crunchy skin on top 🤤
Bagels were about average for me but my friends liked it and thinks it's the best in auckland.
Overall my rating for this place is 🤤 out of 🤤
Had a great afternoon with my best friend few days ago. We ordered some light meals and coffee. Great staff and service. Nice decoration, very clean and specious. A very good place for friends get together.
I had not heard of Little Jimmy until a friend suggested we meet here for dinner.
It was a Monday night and we didn't book a table, I was attended to immediately by a friendly man.
I wasn't sure what to expect, but the menu looked great and the photos on Zomato made me feel very optimistic.
We ordered the venison carpaccio to share as a starter and I ordered the hapuka with the bisque, my friend ordered the lamb and we ordered curly fries as a side.
When the venison came out, the plate looked busy but I was excited as I love it when dishes have many elements and I was even happier after tasting it. There are a lot of elements on the dish but it works really well together, I loved the enoki mushroom, the bread and the crispy anchovies were such a good addition.
The hapuka was also amazing, very unique flavours. The first time I had crayfish bisque was in the states and I loved it so I had an expectation, they exceeded my expectations, the bisque was rich and lovely with the hapuka, cockles and fresh veggies.
I had a taste of the lamb too, it was tender and delicious.
I must say I felt like the produce they picked are of a very high standard. I would love to come back and try the pork belly and the beef cheek.
I have to mention the service was really good too, not too intrusive or overbearing yet attentive at the same time. I feel like Little Jimmy has something good going for them and I hope the standard is here to stay.
This evening we had dinner at Little Jimmy's. Their service was lovely and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. The food was excellent. We will definitely be back - highly recommended :) we really love that they source their produce from small NZ businesses.
Excellent food, wonderfully presented and great atmosphere, also a great range of NZ beers and wines. We loved the fish with cockles, tomato salad with staciatella and the cheese board! Yum
Food amazing the best gnocchi ever - service harried and unfriendly. Felt that as "walk ins" we were a bit of a nuisance- our dollars are as bankable as anyone else's - a few smiles wouldn't go amiss!!
Terrific venison carpaccio starter. Wonderful burger with great crisp rosemary potatoes. Good curly fries. A bit of sticker shock to start but well worth the money. Beer at $10, but it was 400ml.
Our BnB hosts recommended this place as their great local, so on our second (of two nights in Auckland) we walked up to Little Jimmy's. It was full ,so we're lucky we booked . Food was great, wine was great and service attentive. But we really loved sitting at the bar enjoying a post dinner drink chatting with the bar staff from around the world. Great fun after great food.
We have become irregular regulars at this place. It's a good place to come for a quick coffee, as well as a sit down lengthy meal, or even dessert and a drink, if that's what you feel like. Definitely pays to book or you can feel a little like a nuisance at times, depends on the duty manager on the day. You will be treated superbly in the dining area, the drop in area is a little hit and miss but the food often makes up for it. The food is definitely decent - the small plates are if you feel only peckish; large plates are if you feel like a substantial meal. You must order sides like curly fries or the divine green veg though, otherwise you can struggle with just having a large plate of meat. The sides can also help flesh out the smaller plates. The pizzas are great, large, and good for sharing. The wine list and drinks list are local and offer a good range. Desserts - chocolate ganache mmmm! The others are ok. They offer a kids menu too and look after the little people well. Worth trying once, twice, and bring excellent company with you.
Came here for dinner, sat on the last available table. Pretty busy, hence a bit noisy inside the room, downgraded the dining experience.
Two of us ordered two small, two big dishes and one dessert. The content in the dishes were too small, still hungry after finishing. Overpriced, absolutely.
The dishes were impressive, lamb rib was so yummy and tasty. Their signature dessert was nice as well. Staffs were well trained and very friendly.
It would be better if prices were lowered.
I had to visit this place as I am a long term fan of One Tree Grill- the same owners created Little Jimmy. It has a very different vibe - more casual and rustic- and both the dishes and decorations meet this theme. All dishes were nice and fresh. One observation that I had was that many dishes are on the hearty, slow cooked meat. While these are nice, a bit more innovative selection of other type of cooking could be nice. Nevertheless, a nice place to visit with friends.
Beautiful building near Greenwoods Corner, the fit out has been done so well. Lots of great areas from an upstairs dining room which would be great for a function, through to tables, high tables & an outdoor area that is sheltered.
We decided to order two mains, but a word of caution, make sure you order sides! We weren't told how small the mains are & would have ordered a side if we had known. The table next door had some delicious looking fries for example, but there are lots of other good options.
Despite all that our mains were yum. The beef cheek with beetroot was meltingly tender and not so 'gamey' as some others are. The pork belly was well cooked with crackling, a really tasty pumpkin purée & broccolini. It also had 3 small scallops which were crumbed.
For dessert we shared two - the doughnuts which were nice but didn't have the jelly the menu suggested. It also had an unusual syrup, but the ice cream was okay. The chocolate ganache with mandarin was an absolute knock out though! Loved it - tempted to order a second!
Good wine list - we tried a couple of the rarer reds like Sangiovese & montepulciano.
An awesome spot & well worth a visit if you haven't already - their brunch is pretty good too.
Little Jimmy is a great restaurant in the middle of Epsom.
We ate the beef cheeks, gnocchi and greens. The beef checks were perfectly cooked and gnocchi flavors excellent. The desserts were also delicious.
Service was just ok. We had to ask for a drinks menu and dessert menu. Half of the restaurant was empty, but we were seated I'm between two full tables ... the tables are very close together which made for somewhat awkward conversation.
That said I'd go back as I really enjoyed the food!
Had dinner with my friend and we ordered the lamb shoulder and the curly fries, affogato dessert and some drinks!. It was very filling and good. Specially the cutlery, it was very interesting and we just loved it! Really enjoyed our time there. Well worth the money spent in terms of quality.
Enjoyed my dinner here.I had the pizza with wedges. It was filling. The lamb ribs remind me of home and the pork belly was on point. The only thing I could say was that one of the staff gave us sparkling water instead of still water when he asked if we wanted water.Other than that it was great.
Had dinner with a friend on a Saturday night and we ordered meals to share - beef cheek, salmon and winter veges. They were kind to adapt the meals to suit my gluten intolerant friend so that was much appreciated. High praises for the food - we polished off every plate! Cocktails were yum - well worth the money spent in terms of quantity. We ended the night with the affogato dessert - yum! Can't fault the service too - they were very attentive.
Love the atomosphere, service is really good and they are all really friendly :) Food wise I ordered curly fries, trevally and lamb ribs. My favourite is the trevally soak with coconut and lime! Amazing refreshing just love the combination! Definelty will be back again :)
Came here mid week for a lunch with a gf. Was nice & quiet. Wine orders were taken fast. Good arrived fast. We only ordered off the small menu as it was lunch. Nothing to fault was very yummy. Will be back with husband to try more of the Bigger meals.
Came here by default this morning and sooooo glad that we did . We actually tried 2 other Cafes before this one this morning, one was FULL and the other had such slow service we actually walked out.😤
Found this one on Zomato and was just a minutes walk from our vehicle Lol
Greeted by very friendly staff as soon as we stepped inside the door at Little Jimmy's and seated.
Coffee order taken immediately😃👍🏽, Soda water placed on the table and menus presented . Awesome!
Nice feeling in this cafe as soon as you enter- well lit, warm and roomy with modern decor.
Menu choices are limited but it's quality options on offer.
Flat white and a Latte was excellent 😊 great flavour and perfect temperature
My partner loved his Baked Eggs with Haloumi and Lamb sausage, great flavour and well presented.
I had the Brioche with fruit and I must say I feel that it is the best French Toast I have had ever!- great balance of flavour, crispy French toast and a well balanced dish with poached pears, and dried Raspberries . Loved it💗
We would make a special trip to return again and based on today's experience this was a well deserved 5/5😝
My wife and I visited this bar and eatery last Friday evening
We got there quite early and is was not busy
But it became busy while we were there
Lovely decor and atmosphere
Attentive staff
We had a few ales and a couple of entrees to share
The pork croquettes and the venison meatballs
Excellent quality and taste
A very enjoyable visit
A great addition to the Epsom choices of bars and cafes
Since Little Jimmy has opened it made Epsom a lot cooler. Love how it is so close to home that after a good meal I can just walk home and not worry about drink driving. Been there multiple occasions for brunch and I love the pizzas! Dinner is pretty great too, the dishes are good for sharing and they make a mean as rhubarb sour cocktail!
Have a brunch there is a really correct decision. Good atmosphere, comfortable seats, friendly staff and outstanding food. All food materials were very fresh. My friend ordered one Best Ugly Bagels dish for$16.00 and very satisfied with it. I ordered a baked breakfast dish for $19.00 which was made with tasty lamb sausages and beans. What unique cutleries! Willing to go back for dinner soon.
I came across Little Jimmy by accident. Just happened to be driving past and immediately I saw its potential. The signage and general look screamed out that this was my kind of place. Some furious Googling confirmed my initial suspicions, and I was in. It was a Sunday night, and I got here quite early. A little disoriented, having just flown in from Melbourne; not quite sure what time it was. I sat down on my lonesome (business travel can be so lonely), and thus began the enjoyable experience.
Tasty well presented food with amazing flavours, lovely atmosphere and friendly helpful service. Totally enjoyed my lunch and meeting with friends in a great environment....
Came here for lunch and had a very pleasant meal. This area of Epsom/Greenwoods corner has been lacking a good food establishment and this place seems to fit the bill. Given that it has been open for a few weeks now, the place was still quite full for a late lunch service and there was definitely a good buzz around the dining area.
We had the venison sub and the baked eggs. Both very moreish comfort food which satisfied especially on a coldish autumns day. Both cooked well with just the right amount of seasoning. The eggs being done just right with the yolks still oozing out the lovely gooey goodness to add that additional seasoning and sauce dimension. The slight critic being that the small amount of bread given (2 small pieces) was definitely not enough to mop up the dish which was a disappointment.
Overall a very nice place that one could wander into when not in the mood to cook.
Midweek dinner. We were happy to be seated upstairs as the noise level downstairs was insane. We had excellent cocktails followed by the best ceviche we'd ever eaten. The standard wasn't quite so high for the mains - the pizza although with a nicely crispy crust was a bit uninspired - but it was still very good. Two of the smaller sharing plates each would have been plenty and that's what we'll go for next time. Service was friendly and attentive and the coffee was great. I'm looking forward to returning.
Very nice dishes! Highly recommend this place! Just one little comment, eggs on both dishes are slightly over cooked. But overall perfect customer service nice presentation would definitely go back again~
Our Saturday morning breakfast splurge led us to find a table at this wonderfully presented cafe in Greenwoods Corner. We arrived early to avoid the crowds and found a nice table outside the cafe protected by plastic screens.
My muesli was the best - full of the usual superfoods but topped with a poached apricot and fresh raspberries. Not too sweet and glad I only ordered the small size which was perfect for me. Top marks for taste and presentation. The other meal ordered was the Mibrasa breakfast. Once again it was well presented but the lamb sausages were a bit too spicy for the first meal of the day. However, this was mentioned in the menu. The coffee was not hot and the hot water on the side was served in a pottery vessel with no handle. Too hot to touch! This disappointing coffee was mentioned to the waitress but there was no offer of a replacement one. Still looking for the allusive coffee hit, I ordered another one which was still lacking in flavour and still not hot enough. Disappointing. The service really let this place down big time and I do hope that this has improved. Because the muesli was so good a return visit is planned.
Revisited this wonderful establishment for lunch the other day. The food was stunning both in presentation and flavour. The Chicken Salad was the best I have had in a long time - a moist generous serve of chicken, Kumara mingled with delicious flavours. My friend’s Fish dish was gone in a flash - it was so good! The deserts were different but the flavours blended well. The Basil Icecream was refreshing. Coffee was good, service was better than I experienced on our last visit.
I have now given Little Jimmys 5 stars! Well deserved!
We were warmly welcomed and given a table of our choice, plus sparkling water on arrival and during our time here - excellent service! There are a few areas to choose from to sit, including upstairs and outside. We ordered a Roast Chicken Salad which was filled with flavour, and recommended. We finished off with a nice little coffee. I recommend a visit to this fab cafe!

Wherever Chef Mark goes, I will follow. Particularly to sleek industrial restaurants in Epsom. I have stalked his food for brunch and dinner and I couldn't be more fanatical.
Brunch offers a few choice items that look and taste better than the menu sounds. Everything is delicious and there are even kids' items to please the fussiest. coffee could be so much better but that may have more to do with the barista. Also, I wish there were more fish and vege items but hey, the dinner items perform excellently in that department.
Went to dinner with the yoga crew. This consisted of sharing plates and large sumptuous platters that put a smile on all the yoga ladies' faces. Looking around, I saw the pork hock which I will have to bring hubby to devour. The yoga ladies and I had mainly seafood and vege items which impressed because of their uniqueness in taste and presentation. The only downside about dinner is that you can only book for two hours when all we wanna do is linger. Sorry forgot to take dinner photos cos we were greedy guts.
We walked over from Cornwall Park around 1.30pm and decided to pop in for a cold drink & a quick bite. The service was quick and friendly & our food and drinks were served promptly. LJ is a very cool spot & definitely zhooshes up Greenwoods corner. Opted for the Aroha soda (elderflower), a purple smoothie & the Mibrasa baked brekkie. Looking forward to having dinner @ LJ.
Caught the crew just on opening on a Public Holiday. They were not due to open for a few minutes but we were planted amid some interesting decor with sparkling water in moments, (very good) coffee shortly thereafter. I make the point that the coffee was good because whilst it seems that whilst many cafes in Auckland fancy themselves an expert coffee roaster and top-notch baristas (correct Italian plural, anyone?) the truth is that bad coffee - from roast through to preparation of your favourite individual brew - abounds in Auckland. We'd only planned to stop for a quick and quiet brew, but welcoming attitudes and spot-on coffee (late and cappuccino) got us in the mood for breakfast - plus with Little Jimmy only open some 2-3 weeks we were just plain interested to see what they offered.
It's a good menu with just enough variety and unique touches that one should expect that the food is well prepared and served. And so it was. Both of us had the Baked Breakfast with Boston Beans in tomato, with egg, spinach and halloumi - arriving in ramekins that kept the dishes hot to the last mouthful. Unlike some reviewers we found the portion ssized well - if you want to be able to tank up, and leave feeling full - well, maybe order some extra sides, or think about other places (I tend to eat on the 'hearty' side, my Mrs somewhat less so, and she didn't finish hers).
We'd recommend giving these folk a go - friendly service - of the genuine variety, not the plastic courtesy taught in so many 'Hospo' schools - great coffee, excellent food, with a great ambience (i think it would be charming at night).
Love this place! Keep coming back as first time we've had something cool in our area. The staff are fun, friendly and thankfully have personalities, a bit of a rarity these days. Great to see them laughing and having fun with customers. Pizzas are a highlight for me and was great to see no surcharge on a public holiday. Love the bustle and casual feel but still professional. Keep it up! The manager with the bright lipstick is fabulous 😀

We dined for lunch on a busy Sunday afternoon. The staff were friendly and accommodating right from the get go. The menu had limited options but all looked super tasty, and I appreciate that everything was locally sourced. I chose the corn and bacon waffles which were a cute twist on fritters. My friends order the chicken salad and the meatball sub. We also had fries to share.
We had to wait quite a while on food but we were updated by our waitress with apologies which was nice.
While my food was a bit cold it was very tasty but my eggs were underdone. The fries were piping hot and the sauce was yummy. The meatball sub looked so good and will be my choice next time. We ordered coffees after which were prompt and hot.
While our waitress was great we were all disappointed with the manager. She had friends sitting behind us and she kept having insanely loud and disruptive conversations with them. I dont think she was setting much of an example for her staff.
So I tried out the new local eatery Little Jimmys today @little_jimmynz Every night when I finish service I pass it on the way home and have been wanting to come since its opening. Finally did. Verdict: 👌🏽 Good Service. Good Coffee. Good Food. Had the Sweetcorn and Bacon Waffles. Pretty dish. Good all round solid flavours. Slick operation and the site is themed and decorated well. Loving the industrial theme they are going for and really like the use of marble and exposed concrete. Will definately be back again to check out there dinner menu and cocktail list #cheflife #chefsdayoff #aucklandlife #auckland #nz #aucklandeats
Second visit to this new place in greenwoods cafe. It's worth a visit it's pretty loud when busy but coffee is good and curly fries are great!!! Cheeseboard was 3 very thin slices of cheese with a lot of bread and crackers for $33 which I thought was a bit much for what we got. The rest of the menu looks great and good quality. Very cool fit out and some if the accessories are funky. 👏🏼😍
Update on my review 3 weeks ago - Had a quick dinner on Friday & it was completely different to the same dinner on a Monday! Schnitzel this time was well cooked with a good sized portion. Curly fries were excellent as were the three "slider" beef & cheese burgers. Unfortunately it was busy & the noise level was painful. Service was good but our waitress couldn't hear our order & conversation was impossible without shouting. Was told a sound engineer was being brought in to help solve the problem.
Original review - Was really looking forward to this opening. Having a good local cafe/wine bar we could drop into for meals would have been great, unfortunately style seems to have trumped substance in this case. We've been twice, once for brunch & once for dinner.
Firstly the coffee is very good. The fit out is a stylish industrial meets whatever? with staff in leather aprons & good looking spanner cutlery etc.
Service was slow & showed inexperience, but was very friendly. The food we had was tasty & perfectly acceptable - BUT.....
the portions were small - the smallest eggs I've ever had served for breakfast & dinner platters for 2-4 struggled to satisfy 3 average appetites.
Menu is very limited with few options for breakfast or a light lunch. (Menu showing on Zomato today shows more choices than the one we were given this morning at the cafe).
It's expensive for the quantity & quality served.
Unfortunately we'll have to continue to travel to a nearby suburb to our, still favourite, all day cafe/wine bar until the menu & value improves.
Came here for lunch yesterday. Oh my gosh was it busy!! It was so busy it made it slightly unpleasant for us diners sat in.
Even though it was so busy the staff were so lovely! Friendly chatty and helpful.
Pizza was brilliant very simple, not greasy and a great base - just as they should be.
I will come again at another time to try more of the menu.
Amazing place, staff and meal. I was there on the Mother’s day so they had some menu for this opportunity. The cheesecake was too sweet for me, so I couldn’t finish it but everything else was really delicious and cute for my eyes. The special no-alcohol mother’s cocktail too. BTW Great combination rice with coconut! Nice job! ❤️
We ordered the 5 courses menu but included everything we want to try. Food was amazing and love the coconut taste for fish, highly recommended the eggplant and lamb. It was a great experience. Dessert is a bit too sweet for me but everything else was amazing! They’re quite popular so I would suggest to prebook.
Birthday dinner over little Jimmy, it was fantastic. Every time was great! service, presentation of food, tast was top in Auckland! That's why you need to book ahead. We will definitely come back 😊
Thanks for having such a great selection of plant-based options. All the dishes were so delicious that it's hard to pick a favourite, but the charred cauliflower and the eggplant were both sensational. Service was fast and friendly. Loved the champagne coups too. Will definitely be back!
Amazing dinner. The server was incredible. His tattoos seem rude to have him as the standout visual feature but his manner of service and friendliness were exceptional. A treasure to the business. The food was amazing and he was helpful with all choices. Not a cheap dinner but all courses were incredible. Highly recommend for that very special night out
Nice vibes and a pleasant smell of charcoal fire from the outside. However, the service was a bit average, and the food was ok but I wouldn’t say it’s amazing. Everything were designed as shared plates so it’s good to have a few people with you. The highlight was the cauliflower in a spiced curry-type yoghurt and lowlight was the lamb shoulder, it’s fine but not great.. the meat was well portioned but a bit dry and very lamb-y almost. Overall, it’s just above average but it seems to be packed quite quickly.
The food was delicious. We ordered loads of starters between four of us and we didn't think we could eat it all but we managed to devour every last bite. Highly recommended. Yum.
We had a lovely meal, the food is always great and service was attentive and helpful. The slow cooked lamb was so succulent and tasty. We really enjoyed a great family night.
I have always wanted to try this restaurant. Finally, I visited with my family. A portion of the large plate was a bit smaller than what I expected; however, the overall taste of every single dish we tried was so good 👍
And also, service was 100%. I definitely will come back to try the rest of the menu soon!
I would add it onto my favorite restaurants listing now. When I enjoyed the food, I couldn’t wait to share it to my friends!! The environment was quite modern, and the service was great! Everything was perfect!
Food was good. Menu was limited but overall service was good.
Great intimate dining place that packed a tonne of flavour and taste in their dishes!
Would definately come again :)
We grabbed the chicken snitzchel and. Gnocchi as well as the pudding which was amazing.
I hadn’t been here for dinner in quite some time, and I have to say the food was amazing this time. The venison tartare was unctuous and melt in your mouth, beef short rib was very tender and those brussel sprouts with chickpeas and cashew sauce was next level. Highly recommended.
Delicious food and sizeable portions. Good service but it was a slow night when we were there. Good recommendations from the wait staff who knew their menu quite well. Good atmosphere too.
Friendly staff, tasty food, top notch NZ wine and beer selection. Generous serving of perfect curly fries. Lamb ribs were delicious, but portions were quite small. Platter was a little disappointing - pickles were good, but bread was hard/chewy and almost inedible and again portions were quite small compared to price.
Had a nice lunch with family at this lovely restaurant on Saturday. Food was good, for we the chicken was a bit salty. Overall service experience was good, there was a kind and friendly staff when we ask for particular suggestion.
Such a beautiful place. Lovely employees who were so kind and respectful. So clean, spacious and bright. When I come back to Auckland, I will definitely make time to visit this space.
One of my all time favourites! The staff are awesome! Always friendly and welcoming which makes it a nice place to be. The food is sensational and it is all based on using Newzealand made produce which is pretty special. Drinks menu is amazing with a wide range. The food menu has an array of options. Highly recommend everything!
