I've been to Vaniye many times and we always try to order a cake for Christmas. Vaniye's cakes and desserts are very mousse based, with light and airy sponge or cream. The layers of flavours are amazing and it's not too sweet. I personally prefer this type of cake/dessert than dense, iced cake. They regularly add new flavours so there's always something new to try.
The fullsize cakes are not that big though and is quite flat (you can see cross sections on their website). And because it's quite light you can easily eat a lot. So considering the price it's not that cheap, but totally worth it!
I am a big fan of mille feuille but there is not so many place selling mille feuille. I am glad I have found this place and the food here not only tasty but also looks like a masterpiece. I ordered a mille feuille and a hot chocolate. I was worried both are sweet but after the hot chocolate was served, it was strong and matched the sweet so well. Highly recommend.
Got the “Chou chou” dessert I believe. It is perfectly balanced and the brownie has just the right amount of sweetness. The cute cream puffs on top have a light but satisfying crunch to them and are just delightful!
Ive been looking for a good cake store for a while and Ive finally found it! Amazing cake! Totally worth the money! Will be buying our birthday cakes from Vaniye from now on.
Absolutely delicious croissant, quiche and coffee! I had the chocolate and almond croissant, best croissant around. The coffee was the smoothest I’ve tried in Auckland. It was not bitter even though I had my cappuccino with trim milk. The crust and filling of the quiche were also delicious.
The place is cozy and the staff is friendly. Great location as well, a bit of a hidden gem. The place has very few tables but we were lucky to get one on our Saturday morning visit.
What a wonderful little place. Its such a treat and delight when stepping foot into the store. The feeling of something different and yet knowingly you know whichever you picked is going to be tasty. Its a treat to sit and chat with friends. Chocolate you will never go wrong
Very yummy but expensive. I guess this is the price you pay having a shop in parnell!! But their Macaroons are delicious if you eat them the same day. Yum, Yum, Yummy!!
This place is soooo gooooood. Price is not cheap but worth every dollar.
I spent $80 here every time and enjoy every single bite. I especially enjoy the chocolate stuff.
Highly recommended.
Beautiful macarons. Best consumed asap as the freshness and crispness of the shells don't last long.
The fillings are scrumptious and not too sweet. I would have liked it to have come with a flavours menu sheet like boxes if chocolate have. For some of the macarons I couldn't tell what flavour it was at all.
The flavours that I could make out and recommend is the passionfruit one. I loved that one, probably my favourite because you could really taste the passionfruit and it had a nice tartness to it that cut the sweetness. The coffe flavoured one had a strong coffee flavour and the white chocolate had subtle hints of white chocolate. I also liked the chocolate macaron, it definitely tasted like chocolate but wasn't too sweet.
Lastly I could taste the rose macaron. Really loved the rose flavour, subtle but enough to realise its rose.
It's my favourite dessert spot at the moment.
Randomly pick three cakes and taste wonderful!!
If you love dessert but less sweet, this is the best!!
Worth for a try.
Nice buttery Crossiants. Not as crisp or flaky as Amano but you can really taste the quality of the butter. I prefer crunchy and flaky Crossiants better. These were hard to digest because of the higher gluten content and made me bloated. But still better than the supermarket imposters that were my childhood friends. Worth the visit in Parnell though.
I have organised a work morning tea and Viniye delivered us a beautiful cake and fresh baguette sandwiches in time. We all enjoyed the treat. Thank you for preparing in a short notice.
Vaniyé offers desserts, cakes & savouries. They were lovely & tempting. The Black Forest with chantilly kirsch cream, Morello cherry & chocolate sponge was pretty & excellent. The 3 pieces of Paris Brest Chouchou with crunchy nut base, hazelnut milk chocolate & praline choux profiterols were also very nice.

Friend bought us cakes.
Tasted absolutely amazing. Usually I don't really go for the strawberry flavoured cakes but this one was delicious. The cappuccino one was one of my favourites!
Came in another time to try the special cake that was actually pistachio flavoured. Probably one of the best from their cakes. The strawberry cheesecake had a bit of sour taste to it but was also really good.
I bought some wonderful macaroons. they were crispy on the outside and sumptuously delicious on the inside. The filling was beautifully balanced. I can highly recommend them.

Cute little dessert store down by Parnell, looks great but not the best. However, they taste pretty decent! The staffs were super friendly! Had a pretty good experience in there!
A petit patisserie tucked away on a side street in the upmarket suburb of Parnell which makes it feel all the more exclusive. You walk in greeted by rows of alluring & delicate morsels, assembled with the utmost attention to detail - their pastries are just as impressive, the almond croissants are by far the best I’ve had; you bite into the crispy shell that’s topped with candied almonds to reveal the soft interior - layer upon layer of light, buttery, flakey pastry baked to perfection. The desserts were amazing - I didn’t bother reading any of the descriptions, opting to pick at random instead because I knew they’d all taste just as good as they were presented, and sure enough - I wasn’t disappointed. The staff are friendly, patient & knowledgeable, I noticed quite a few people gawking at the desserts unable to decide, which is understandable - it can be a little overwhelming when everything looks do damn good. I’ll definitely be back....I need to sample the macaroons! 😊
The cakes are amazing, worth the price they are little works of art that you really couldn't make yourself at home. We got the Grand Cru cake and it was amazing - chocolate but not overly sweet and with amazing crunch and layers. We were really impressed by the mini cakes and mille feuille in the cafe and the cakes you can order were to the same standard (easy to get delivered too) - they are a great option for birthdays etc.
Went here with my friends for a sweet treat over the weekend, the cafe is extremely small with very little seating but has beautiful displays of their desserts and cakes.
The cakes were delicious, beautifully presented had a lot of different options for GF and NF people as well.
Only comment I would make is make sure you come at a quite time or take them away as it gets quite crowded in the cafe. Will definitely be back to sample more of these delicious desserts!
A friend of the mrs had brought her something from here so she had to try it again and I had try it for the first time.
Ambience is nice, modern and swanky. Service is standard. We grabbed a Jean-Marc, Black Forest and Elise. They were all equally very delicious, you can tell a lot of time/effort has been put into them. We will be back again very soon.

All of he came they make are awesome. I often buy their cakes for wife's birthday and anniversary etc. $9 per a piece is quite expensive, but I don't mind paying that much for their cakes.
This place has the best Croissants and Baguettes I've found in New Zealand so far.
Food
The Croissants are the best thing on the menu. They are light, flakey and crisp. The almond Croissant is a bit heavier due to almond paste inside and also a bit more buttery and hence heavier, but very nice regardless. The Baguettes are also very nice, with lightly crispy crust without being too thick or scratching your palate which is often the case, the dough in is light, airy with lots of bubbles with a light chewiness you'd expect from a well freshly kneaded bread. We also tasted the Macarons, which were nice. They were light, and with a slight chewiness. The texture with Salted Caramel one was nice and smooth, the Coconut and Black Sesame was a bit more coarse and didn't feel as luxurious in the mouth. Coffee, unfortunately, is mediocre at best. It's not bitter, but it's not either deep, and smoothly rich. A really nice latte has light sweetness and depth and richness of flavour it needs no sweetening. This is not the case here.
There are also selection of Gateaux and pastries available, which look very beautiful, but I'm a simple man and prefer the simple Croissant over the fancy pastry anyday.
Decor
This is a rather small place with two two seater tables, one four seater table and an arm chair. It seems to tricky to find a place to sit in this cafe, as it's rather busy, but that's then again testament to quality of the Patisserie. Local French people seems to frequent this place, which is saying something. Best option here is to get your Patisserie to go and enjoy your coffee at home with it.
I came here hoping to enjoy a coffee and then select a range of cakes to take with me to a friend's place. The coffee was nice, and the interior was ok. The staff member behind the counter was very attentive, and was clearly trying quite hard to help, but didn't have much by the way of recommendations when I asked what was popular. The cakes looked great in the cabinet, but not so great when they were all pilled into a big cake box. It would be a really nice option to be able to present these better in nice take away boxes for individual cakes. The taste of the cakes was great and felt the price was reasonable.
Tucked away down a Parnell side street is this busy dessert parlour. It does have a French style name, but it came across to me more as one of those Asian Gateaux Houses which have rows of perfectly formed glossy desserts that look too artificial to be real or European. I had the Millefeuille which could have been a bit flakier but nevertheless presentation was beautiful. Overall a great pitstop in the area, especially if you like perfectly round glossy mini cakes.
Amazing chocolate cake! The cake was made up with mousse. It was extremely creamy and lovely. I have never had that amazing cake. Definitely going again
Got a tiramisu cake to celebrate a birthday. Quite pricy at $40 for a small cake that feeds about 4-5 people (cake is smaller than it looks in the photo!) but it was delicious and it's way more classy than the other franchised stores.
favorite french patisserie in NZ. never miss any new dessert. perfect taste perfect texture. never too sweet. never fail to impress me. everthing just so damn food. visit at least once a week you cannot resist to eat them so many times.
French pastry done beautifully and delicately. Open, bright and classy ambience. Lovely staff and deliciously chocolatey and rich hot chocolate and chocolate mousse dome.
Superb morsels. We bought 6 different delights. Wonderful, tasty and beautifully presented. However as they were lifting each morsel from under the glass and being put into the protective box, the person serving us used fingers and not tongs to pickup each morsel. His fingers touched our food on 2 occasions. We were unhappy with this contact. Despite assurances that his fingers did not touch the morsels, we quite clearly saw this. In our view this let's this place down badly. 👎🏻
I am very fond of dessert cafes, and Vaniyé, with its selection of adorable little sweets is no exception. The location was admittedly a little hard to find the first time I thought to go for a visit as I only knew its general location, but is very picturesque place and perfect for its high-end location in Parnell. Staffed by friendly people who are happy to ensure you have a good experience, it was easy to choose cakes that suited my tastes.
The cakes that I've had haven't been too sweet, and the perfect size to satisfy a sweet tooth. I've tasted a variety of the fruit- and chocolate-based desserts, and have yet to find one that I haven't enjoyed. The flavours are matched well, and the variety of textures - smooth, crunchy, soft - in each dessert makes for a sensory experience with each bite.
Patisserie Vaniyé may well be my favourite boutique dessert shop. I look forward to the next time I drop by Parnell... the sweets here are so worth a cheat day.
Lovely almond croissants and savory tarts. Seating is an afterthought as the cabinet is front and centre of the patisserie. If eating in neighboring tables may seem a touch close.
So tasty- pricey but its worth the money. Had a coffee, chocolate almond mousse.. Tasted similar to tiramisu but way more amazing- so many layers and textures to it. Will definately try more flavours next time im in the area.
Tucked just off the main road in Parnell, Patisserie Vaniye is definitely one of those hidden gems.
Coming into the store, you are presented with an array of delicious delicacies that almost seem like hand crafted sculptures for display rather than edible treats.
We picked the Mont Blanc, which is classic but it looked beautiful in the cabinet and grabbed our attention.
In terms of taste, the cake was fantastic, it was rich without being overpowering, and it was full of nutty flavour. The berry was a tangy surprise and it did a good job of cutting through the buttery chestnut.
Showstopper: Immaculate presentation.
Overall showstopper: B+, can't wait to come back and try their other delights.

Love this little dessert place. They offer beautifully made French desserts with fantastic flavor combination. The cakes are almost too beautiful to eat. Unfortunately there are only limited seating available so you either have to ask take away or wait
to be seated.
My favorite one will be the mango and coconuts flavoured cake. Different textures melting in the mouth and it's not overly sweet. The only downside is finding a car park.
Price can be quite high but it's definitely worth paying for the quality and creation of the cakes.
As we approach Vaniyé off the main street of Parnell, one thing strikes me. On the other side of the glass that looks into the small shop, black chic people are serving black chic customers. A black and white French bulldog, possibly another sign of chicness, is waiting patiently at the doors for its owner to take it and her treat back home. Inside, everything is neatly displayed, beautiful delicacies lined up in immaculate presentation. There are three specials that they have to explain to me, layer by layer. It would be easier if they just have the written explanations for those as they do with all the other 'normal' selections. They all look so pretty, I take my time deciding. Unfortunately, there are no desserts in verrines at Vaniyé today. Tant pis.
Came for an afternoon snack with friends and the food here is just a cut above others that I've tried. I had the Choco-Baileys and it was just amazing. The chocolate finely tempered so you get that crunch even though the layer is so thin. Nice flavours and textures. It was hard to look away from the cakes on display. I found the hot chocolate quite disappointing though. It didn't have that hit I was looking for and was quite small.
the place is quite small, they had about 5 small tables crammed into the small space in front of the counter. If you were planning on eating there hope that it's not too busy.
I came here twice the first time I had the cake of the day was a mango sorbet and my friend had a caramel mousse thing also had tea here and tried Madeleine's for takeaway.
There french patisery assortments are delicious. The madeleines really yummy. there a sandwich rolls are delicious too I also recommend the quiche. Better than most places. However the second time I came here the person serving us was a little bit hasty because of closing time keeping an eye on us which i didnt like because we left on time promptly
Not sure why I haven't done a post on Vaniye before even though I've had their cakes countless times 😅
Personally I'm not crazy about any of their showcase dessert flavours except the blueberry cheesecake. But cake flavours really come down to personal preference so if you've never been, you should definitely go and try...ALL their cakes 😋
Their dark hot chocolate is the best I've had! Not too sweet and not too bitter.
Absolutely fantastic desserts. Very tasteful, delicate and fine crafted for different tastebuds. I picked an assortment of pastries and desserts for a dinner gathering and we all got a chance to try many at one time. Each one had their favourite and mine was citrus orange one (cannot remember the name) Highly recommended for the dessert enthusiasts. Shame I don't have a photo because they looked so beautiful, as soon as the boxes were opened, they were devoured in no time ;)
I reached here just before the closing time but managed to get some nice pastry.
Its' an ultimate bakery to try the french pastries. Good thing is that you will have something according to your taste here and they never run of croissant or pastry.I tried a biscuit pastry( cant remember the name) and it just melts into the mouth. The products are bit expensive but its worth trying. The hazelnut coffee and blonde coffee are unique in taste. Do not expect large menu on drinks side. Service is quick even in rush hours and staff is courteous.
Would love to come here again!

Cute little premium French patisserie. Our family like to order in advance for their Sweet Petits four box which consists of 20 mini pieces and also 25 pcs box macarons. That way, you get to taste a mixture of sweets. Perfect for party and sharing. The texture of their creation is so smooth and every bite is heaven. It looks so beautiful, you almost feel bad for eating it.
Wow. I won't be able to buy croissants anywhere else without being disappointed now. Macaroons were the best I've had as well. Cannot wait to go back and make my through the rest of the menu. Normally you would expect to pay (and be happy to) a lot more for such quality. Great coffee as well. See you next weekend
Definitely one of my favour French cake shops -just like how cakes are made in Paris! Not too sweet but with different favours and textures.
Booked a cheese cake for my GF's birthday. I think the name is Iris.
Awesome taste. Creamy but not greasy, might be the blueberry they put in the cake.
Looks gorgeous as well.
The price I reckon is reasonable, after all you do not need to order this kind of cake every single day of yours…
Amazing desserts and very good customer service. I do takeaway most of the time, but it is also a wonderful place to enjoy a morning/afternoon tea with friends.

I would highly recommend this place is a must try if you have a sweet tooth. The desserts are excellent. Not only are they amazingly good, the presentation makes it too pretty to eat. And I love how they experiment with seasonal ingredients. While you're biting into a gateau, try their coffee and baguette too.
Loved this place, cabinet items all looked amazing and tasted good. Had nice tea and great service . Cute simple decor and a great asset to Parnell
Have always been, and will forever be, in love with Patisserie Vaniyé!Opulent and sumptuous - whether sweet or savoury - Chef Sonia's creations always satisfies. They also have a great and trustworthy delivery service!
I have been a regular at this place and I must say I always leave this place super satisfied. Love how they bring out desserts using the season's freshest produces and there is always new flavour coming. I just love coming here to try out the new creations! Oh... and did I mention that there is also great coffee and their baguette is also a must-try if you are not a sweet tooth!
Only tired macarons, passionfuits & yuzu, rose and thai milk tea, not really sweet but lovely. Thier cake just like an art, would really want to try other cake as well next time. It would be better if there's more seats :D
Second time here today.. we got some treats for afternoon tea ,their products are of a high standard hence the good reviews on zomato a must try for dessert lovers
Absolute must! Loved the friendly customer service and delicious treats of course! We ordered 3 macarons: blackcurrant, coffee and coconut & black sesame. All were delicious but have to go with the blackcurrant as I love the tart flavour.
We also ordered the pistachio and black forest treats. They were divine!! The pistachio had a richer texture but was moist and the black forest was so soft and creamy!
Will be coming back soon to try the savoury next time!

Food ordered:
Arabia
Choco-Brulee
Iced Coffee (x2)
Bill: $27
Big tummy: The first time we tried to come here, they turned out to be closed (I'll never understand why a restaurant would close on a Sunday - I mean, relaxing in some establishment with great food has Sunday written all over it), but we decided to try our chance on a Saturday and voila... they were open!
The selection isn't as vast as some other dessert places, but it soon becomes apparent that Vaniye prioritises quality over quantity. The desserts seriously look like they should be displayed in an art gallery somewhere. I even found myself feeling a tiny bit guilty to be desecrating the chef's work with my spoon. Most importantly though, the magnificent appearance of each dish is somehow matched by its taste. Both the Arabia and the Choco-Brulee were simply heavenly - rich with flavour, but not too sweet and brilliantly textured. Admittedly, the iced coffees were nothing to write home about, but when we go back to Vaniye we wouldn't be looking for their coffee anyway. Their desserts are worth a second visit alone.
Little tummy: Once again, we found ourselves exploring a new dessert option in the city. This time our adventures took us to Patisserie Vaniye (we still have no idea how to pronounce it) in Parnell. I ordered the Choco-Brulee while my boyfriend requested the Arabia, so I got to try both desserts (yay). The Choco-Brulee was utterly amazing, each mouthful treating you to the decadent taste of rich chocolate, without being too sweet. Personally though, I actually preferred the Arabia which had a delicious combination of flavours in each spoonful. Simply divine. I can't wait to explore their other desserts.

I ordered the Arabia Mousse (x-large) to be delivered to my office for my leaving shout. I had a few concerns (a) would it be delivered in time; (b) I had never bought a sweet from here before, would it be up to the high standard of the critics in the office. I had chosen to not go the standard bakery cake and sausage roll way but go for something a bit more high class shall be say, at least that is what I hoped.
It was delivered on time and with a smile. The staff (as was I) were blown away with the beauty and taste of this mousse. It was beyond beautiful. It was a work of art for all the senses. It did cost extra but it was so worth it. I should have asked Vaniye to put business cards in the box too as everyone wanted to know exactly where this magical french patisserie was. Thank you Vaniye you more than delivered what I asked for.
Bought a large Choco-Brulee cake for a birthday. It looked magnificent. Couldn't wait to cut into it. What seemed like a chocolate cake from the outside is indeed a work of art. To call this a cake is an injustice as it's so much more than a cake. When we started eating slices of this cake, we laughed as we couldn't believe how good it tasted. So many different flavours and components, each working with each other so harmoniously. I can't believe these large cakes are only $68. Incredible value for money. These cakes are made with the best ingredients (Valrhona chocolate, Heilala vanilla etc) so you really can't go wrong with cakes from here. I will be coming back again and again.
I couldn't decide on a flavour of cake so I went in search of a special birthday/anniversary dessert - these #SweetPetitsFours were the perfect beautiful indulgent treats!
Ordered the most beautiful cake for my parents anniversary from here! Sonia and her staff were so friendly and accommodating to work with and to top it all of, they delievered a delightful (and affordable) chocolate brulee cake to serve 60+ people.
The custom cake order was $160 and was definitely worth the money.
Would definitely recommend them for Parties and looking forward to my next purchase!
Been here a couple of times and each time has been awesome :D I personally believe that they have perfected the optimal ratio of flavour, texture and presentation, even the coffee-I had a flat white-compliments the treat rather than overpowering it. But then again, I'm a fan and therefore extremely biased ;-) The large cakes are very suitable for delighting those special persons, though think twice if they are watching their sugar/fat consumption
Vaniyè has beautiful looking, and importantly, tasting desserts.
The day we visited the helpful staff helped us select some suitable sweet treats and we sampled them with coffee (and took some home).
Everything was delicious & as I left I told the young woman at the counter 'better than Milse' (she agreed) and indeed they are, many times over & with less pretence to boot.
Nice work Vaniyè & good luck to anyone trying to compete. My first 5 out of 5 - I thought perfection didn't exist. Boy, was I wrong!

What a charming little cafe.I had a fantastic out of this world Arabia desert. The texture and taste was awesome.Very helpful and courteous staff.I will definitely be going back to sample some of their other cakes and deserts.Everything looks so pretty and tempting.
Vaniye creates absolutely stunning desserts tucked in a small street in Parnell. I came here for the macarons as I had heard about them friend, but the man who served me was so friendly and charming that I ended up buying a small cake too. The macarons themselves were delicious with the right amount of chew and none of the big airy bubble in the macaron shell itself that so many places have, one of the top ones I've tried in Auckland so far! The cake wasn't to my taste however as it was very, very subtle in green tea. This was expected though as I do love the bitter, strong green tea flavour while most people can't really handle it so it is understandable they toned it down for the masses. I need to come back to try another cake flavour because they all look absolutely delectable.

I love the ambience in the restaurant and the location of it as it is not located in a busy area. I give it a 3.5 because the cake I ordered didn't really meet my expectations but my friend liked hers. So, I'm open to give this shop another try, maybe next time I'll try something chocolate-ty instead.
This little cafe creates the most amazing desserts you'll ever eat and at a very reasonable price. You will not find any better in Auckland, this is hands down the best place for dessert. My only complaint: why aren't you open longer????
Absolutely stunning patisserie tucked away in Parnell, have heard of great reviews from friends for a while and accidentally stumbled upon this place when walking back from the French Market one weekend. A range of delicious and perfected artworks, I mean cakes.
Very cozy sit down and artsy glassware makes your afternoon tea all the more enjoyable. Extremely popular with cake orders, saw a lot of cake pickups during our short visit. Definitely know where I'll be ordering my next birthday cake from.
Great coffee, beautiful pastries. A bit expensive compared to other french cafes but hey- we breathed in Parnell air hahaha. Parking can be tricky but will visit again.
Beautiful small patisserie with delicious cakes. The tea recommended by the staff was very nice too. The place is quite small but we were lucky enough to find a seat and had a lovely afternoon there.
Simply the tastiest french baguettes, croissant, macaroons and cakes in Auckland. And they are very friendly too. When I go there is the morning to get a hot chocolate with french baguette and butter, I travel back to my childhood in my French village with my grand mother making me breakfast.
Black forest is tasty with english earl tea. The macaroon is so so. I spend two hours there wiring my papers, a good experience. If it supplies wifi I will give 5. I'd like to come again.
I love Patisserie Vaniye, it's small but everything is fantastic, coffee is perfect too.All the details of this place are great! This is a place I love going back again and again in Auckland.
If you reveled at the skill Milse's chefs showcase in their desserts, you have to visit Patisserie Vaniye. This place makes you feel very, very special; the small layout of the cafe means you will be one of the few patrons quitely enjoying their work. The coffee is perfect; sometimes people forget how important temperature is. but the guys and girls here definitely haven't. The patisseries' are pricy but you get your money's worth - if not more. Everywhere you look shouts quality and you can really taste that each creation is painstakingly crafted to perfection; you get the sense that the creators' alarms are set for 2am every morning.
Absolutely loved it 😍 ordered Mellifille hopefully I spelt it right but anyways it was really delicious, the cream was nice and creamy and the puff pastry was crunchy and fresh. Only fault is that they may need to expand the seating area a bit because it gets kinda congested. Overall I had a lovely time, awesome desserts 😊
Ordered a choco brûlée for my partner's birthday, which is incredibly tasty and all the ingredients are superb! I did not know that the shop would be closed on Monday, but Sonia still made it possible for me to pick up even when I showed up before 9 am to try my luck. Thank you Sonia!! Wonderful people with divine desserts, who can say no.. :-)
The place is located at a quiet street in Parnell. However, the parking was a bit difficult probably due to peak lunch hours.
The atmosphere was great! It's a small cafe but they have everything a good cafe can offer. Neat decorations, Variety of desserts to choose from and good coffee/ tea to enjoy with too.
The macaroon was very crispy yet soft, its sweetness was perfectly balanced-- sweet but not dead sweet.
The other dessert we had was the coco-mango cake, it's made of coconut and u can totally taste the fresh coconut from the first bite! The blend with mango just made the whole dish topical. Felt like I was on an island.
The love affair cake was like a ferror cake, if you like ferror as I am, you will love this dish!! Yet it's not dead sweet chocolate but a mix of dark chocolate which also is my fav.
The madeleine was average, just ordered it coz I haven't tried them before lol.
It's an awesome place to visit!! Most people takeaway so the cafe is not too packed and the service was good too, they didn't rush us having our little Friday date :)
Definitely recommended it for casual afternoon tea!
This is the best patisserie shop ever! Much better than miles to be honest, I will definitely come back again.
We ordered Black Forest, choco brûlée and my favorite Love Affair. The cakes is not too sweet, you can actually taste the ingredients in your mouth layer by layer, not that overpowering sugary taste. Definitely a great comfort in the cold winter night.
Super yummy
I like how their cakes are not overly sweet
We had the smooth chocolate mousse dome with this chestnut bean like middle glazed with a shiny caramel glaze and a almond crunch
you can really taste the chocolate without the cup of sugar
The next one we had was the coconut mousse imbedded with sunflower seeds
The centre was tropical tasting and the top is passion fruit and gooseberry
Sesame sponge base
Excellent, superior patisserie, in taste, decoration, products (very nice dark chocolate, fruits, ect...) and the pastry chef knows her job - beautiful technic.
La meilleur patisserie d'Auckland, if not New Zealand. Only small issue is the parking.
ps: their bread is fantastic too!
Enjoy.
Pour les gourmet et les gourmands!
I have been to this place once and will definitely visit this place again if I get the chance. They have really yummy desserts on display.
We ordered grenada and amarillo. Both were really amazing. The richness of the chocolate was just nice. The passion fruit flavour wasn't too overpowering as well.
Even though the desserts are quite pricey, the taste of the desserts makes it all worth it. Besides that, the staffs are really nice and approachable too. You may miss the small road leading to this place, but google maps may come in handy :)
I am so happy that I work so close to Vaniye. Now I come here almost at least once a week fir their desert. Yes , this place is pricy, a bit more than Miles, but it is worth it. All of the deserts are $8, but hey, at least you don't have to wait for a seat like you have to at Miles (although there is only about 5 tables). As you eat through the desert, you would come across surprises in the core of the desert. My favorite is Granada, and Amarillo. The environment is perfect for dating, quiet environment, very clean and romantic.
Love love LOVE the pastries and cake from here. I once bought the small Valencia cake for my mum's birthday. At first I was surprised at the size, it was a small indeed, but after cutting it up for 6 people it was actually perfect. I have also bought some of the other pastries takeaway. My favourites are Millefeuille and chou-chou.
Beautifully crafted desserts and breads... (Not sourced from somewhere else like La Cigale)Not overly showered with sugar, well balanced on most pieces. Also best croissant I have ever tasted in NZ!It's a shame it seats so few and have short working hours...but definitely my favourite patisserie in NZ so far!
I did not know this place existed until my Dad mentioned it in conversation one day. He had only been there for a coffee, but raved about the patisserie items because he knows I have a sweet tooth. Vaniye Patisserie is owned and operated by a couple, Sonia and Laurent Haumonte who produce the most exquisite French desserts that all look like works of art and are almost too pretty to eat.
I went there with my Dad one early Saturday morning. We both ordered a hot drink and a dessert. It took a long time trying to choose which one I would have because I wanted to try one of everything! Eventually, I settled on a 'Chou-Chou', which consists of light caramel cream choux profiteroles, toffee caramel, brownie base and chocolate caramel mousse. My dad opted for the Valrhona Chocolate Mousse in a dark chocolate shell topped with roasted hazelnuts, which tasted like a more quality version of Nutella. Both were excellent!
With the desserts priced between $8 and $9, one would think it is expensive. However, once you see the desserts in the flesh, you will never look back. Carefully crafted and full of flavour, you will want to spend every weekend at this cute patisserie!
I like their desserts but they are a bit pricey. Love their mille-feuille.
I've been here about 5 times now and have tried quite a few desserts in their range. They're all fantastic! When I'm in this shop I feel like I'm in Europe:-) But what compelled me to write a review today is their service, which is almost as great as their cakes. Even though they have become more popular and busy recently, the amazing service is still there and the staff always go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. I tried their baguette & croissant today and they are as wonderful as their sweet treats. Everything sells out quick so go early to avoid disappointment ;-)
What can I say about this place... I am addicted to macarons!! I found myself making excuses to head to Parnell just so I could get my fix! Oh and the cakes and tartes are also awesome!! Don't be fooled by the prettiness of the cakes... they ARE meant to be eaten.. so get some!
Simply the best experience outside of France! The array of sweet sensations are pleasing to the eye and tastebuds. Friendly service, great coffee, and mouthwatering tasty treats! You've got to go and try for yourselves!
I placed an order on VERY short notice for a Chocolat Noisette cake and the team at Vaniyé came through for me! I received a fantastic looking 15x15 square of absolute chocolate/hazelnutty goodness!!!!!!!
This is the second time I've been to their store and the service was fantastic. The lady behind the counter was well presented, very cheerful and helpful. The store was spotless and the display cabinets were full of dainty little treats that one normally expects to find only in a patisserie in Paris.
I'll be back for more cake when it's my birthday in December! I look forward to it!
Its not only a patisserie, it's an art centre! Everything is so amazingly produced and the taste is so delightful yet natural! We always enjoy our visits there!
A place that I love going back to. Again and again. Not only to stare at their beautiful desserts but also to eat. I have bought countless birthday cakes and everyone marvels at the work of art and when everyone bites into it... It tastes better than it looks. It's just pure delight to indulge in their cakes. Best thing, they balance the sweetness and richness of the cakes very very well. Everyone always wants more!
Oh their macarons are ones that I personally would go for..... I normally hate anything with coconut flavour but these are the best BEST MACARONS I've tried for a while in Auckland. I usually have to fight over them whenever we get some.
All in all... If I'm happy or down, I WANT VANIYE.
Vaniye is a beautiful little French pastry shop tucked in the streets of Parnell. Albeit a bit expensive, I never hesitate paying the amount of money for the quality! Owners Laurent and Sonia are clearly passionate in what they do, and they do it the best way possible. Seriously good looking cakes that are made from best ingredients, and they taste wonderful too. They have selections of delicious macarons to choose from; but my favorite is by far their mille feuille, crispy pastry with the most beautiful creme patisserie layered in between.
Staff are very helpful and hospitable; there's not much space to accommodate big crowds so expect to take away your cakes on their busy days. I recommend their baguette and croissants to take home aside of your cake purchase. Vaniye is perfect for a simple afternoon date, or just to buy some cakes as a gift to people and impress them!

I here to declare my love for Vaniye. Opened by talented pâtissiers, Sonia and Laurent, Vaniye creates some of the best pastries in Auckland. Hidden on a side street in Parnell, this little boutique is easy to miss but finding it is totally worth the effort. Some of my favourite desserts includes the Pistachella which has alternating layers of light pistachio sponge, rich chocolate ganache and crunchy pistachio malt crisps and the Chou-Chou which has chestnut cream profiteroles on top of a creamy milk caramel mousse and toffee brownie.
They have an excellent selection of delicious macarons. Flavours include raspberry-rose, green tea praline, blueberry & pomegranate and black sesame. I love their dark Valrhona chocolate macaron. It melts in your mouth and the creamy ganache centre between the delicate almond meringue shell is just divine.
I don't think I can praise Vaniye anymore without being excessive. It can seriously give Milse a run for their money!
Absolutely nothing like these beautiful pastries anywhere in Auckland >>> NZ! Well done Sonia. Your show case is amazing = I wanted to try everything but tasted your version of the classic Opera cake & an almond croissant. Mmmm....beautiful, fresh, creamy, flaky, buttery - all that real pastries should be.Your staff were informative, patient & were able to tell us about every pastry and cake that we inquired about. Delicious & rich mocha & cappuccino. Always changing with the seasons and even more delicious every time I come in. Sophisticated, classy and divine!
Such a beautiful cake and it tastes like heaven! You can tell it's made with love and care. Even though you tell yourself to not over indulge, you just find yourself wanting another slice... and another... So addictive and love that it's not overly sweet - which is one of the big reasons why I personally don't go back for seconds with most cakes. But this one's a winner for sure!
One of my favourite dessert shops in Auckland! They have some of the best cakes I've ever had, highly recommend the chocolate and matcha one! Their pastries and sable cookies are great too:)
The refined art of delicate desserts indeed. I’ve ordered from them three times so far. While I wish they would have more selections of ‘Birthday cakes’ (and more temporary car parks for pick-ups), every one of the cakes I have ordered comes perfectly in terms of design, texture, and richness.
Until next time …my guilty pleasures
The cake is surprisingly nicer than expected. Love it so much.
Most of the shop is closed at 3pm but this shop allow to collect after opening hour but is before 4pm.
Sure it's expensive, but it's such a treat to go to Vaniye! The food and cakes are exceptionally good, looks and taste. The staff and coffee are good too. It's small and pretty special.
Being a French family, I guess you could say we have tried almost all the French Patisserie's in Auckland. This is my absolute favourite. So much care and attention has gone into preparing the Buche de Noel (Xmas logs) that we ordered for Christmas. (Come on! When your surname is Buche, you have to have a Buche for Christmas!)
The complexity and strength of the flavours of the multiple layers, the texture of the slight crunch of the biscuit base, with soft sponge layers, then the creamy buttercream... and did I mention the visual delight. So pretty. The cakes are not too sweet. We ordered both a Tiramisu and Black Forest Buche, and a few other treats for before Christmas.
This is a true French patisserie and better than almost all the ones that I have been to in France. Bravo Sonia. It was such a pleasure to meet you and your staff. Thanks for the giggles!
VANYE Patisserie , is exactly what I was looking for, different variety of sweets, professionally made and tested delicious 😋 thank you for making my sister's birthday very special, and thank you to Vanessa for her service 😊.
Really easy to order online. I've purchased several birthday cakes from Vaniye over the last year and they were all beautiful and most importantly delicious! The cakes were decadent but not too sweet. Definitely will continue to be a repeat customer. (The croissants are also amazing!)
So so good - ordered this for a birthday, such a decadent cake and presentation hits all the notes
Beautiful cafe/bakery in a handy location in Parnell. Not many parking space in front but plenty parking lots on the roadside. Sliced cakes are gorgeously decorated and taste fantastic however the number of readymade cakes are limited. This quiet cosy cafe is my kind of place for unwinding over coffee and a slice of cake after a hard day at work. Thanks Sonia!
