I've been here about 4 times now and every single time, the food and service has been faultless.
Thursday night is a busy night for this place but we were seated without any issues. Service was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially when we had one member of our table having specific dietary requirements. The food was amazing. The standout dishes were the pide, lamb shoulder, mixed grill and the smoky eggplant. The menu has changed every time I've been and it's great to see them innovating their dishes but keeping up the same quality and flavour. Well done.
One of the best restaurants in Auckland ❤️ Delicious Middle Eastern food, great vibes and lovely service. Love sharing a good meal with friends. We had a bit of everything, mostly the aubergine dishes, hummus, bread, the potatoes, cauliflower (one of my favourites) and market fish. And we finished with a couple of desserts: the truffles and the orange pastry (which I really recommend). Looking forward to going back!!!
I have been in this restaurant three times and all the dishes were 100! The best food I ever had in my life. From the Flavor bomb Falafels, to refreshing salads, to superb Lamb and glorious chicken with saffron rice. Vegetarian options are also amazeee!
Ate here last night and the food was bomb. Started off with some amazing cocktails. Hummus is out of this world. Also the lamb dish was so so good. Last but not least the desert blew our socks off and the person making them was a delight to talk to. Highly recommend 💫💫💫
I’m not usually one to write reviews but WOW this restaurant is hands down the best I’ve been to! Food was divine - cannot emphasis that enough - couldn’t fault it and the vegan options were abundant. Service was amazing and the staff knew their stuff, no fluffing around. Everything was thought of and taken care of. Very professional and welcoming vibe. We’ll be back!
Great food and service. HOWEVER if you are seated in arcade(most seating) it is loud. I knew this before going. Not a quiet place. Mostly share plates so better to go with few friends. While I ate lamb and fish tonnes of veg options. Great food and buzzing atmosphere. And view of sky tower.
Amazing food. Loved the grilled chicken with rice, lamb tortellini and fish tartare. These 3 dishes were to die for!
Amazing vibe and the flavours are good but portions are small (1 hummus is good for 2) and the fact you have to pay per piece of bread is a bit ridic for a lebanese restaurant. The chicken was amazing though and service was very friendly and prompt.
Hands down the best Lebanese food in Auckland. Don't bother going anywhere worse, just come here.
What a fantastic restaurant! The food was excellent, by far one of the best menus I‘ve ever tasted. We had the Jeeb 3 course menu for 70 $ p.p. and it was more than enough delicious food for the two of us. The texture and flavors they mix are just perfect( the creamy hummus with the crunchy chickpeas). The staff was really friendly. It was a bit noisy the evening we went, because of a nearby shop.
Fabulous food. Probably the best Lebanese in Auckland. Nice location in St Kevin's Arcade in K Rd. Quite noisy if there's a band playing downstairs.
Third visit to Gemmayze and it never fails to delight the senses.
We chose to do a fixed cost per menu on the night to allow our group to try a range of dishes. Everything was cooked to perfection and the food was plentiful, combine this with a fabulous vibe from the team that work here and you are in for an awesome night.
Set in the back of St Kevins Arcade it is a great dining area. On this visit we were close to the kitchen and were right in amongst the action.....
The restaurant has a great back story and if you engage with the team you get a real feel for the passion and history that plays into your dining experience.
We had some first timers in our group and the consensus was "wow".
Thank you team for another wonderful evening
I've been here for dinner years ago but this occasion was the first time I tried the Jeeb menu ($65.00 per head). The dishes on offer were fantastic in flavour - was drooling over the rice that came with the lamb (I actually had day dreams about it - SO delicious). I wasn't that impressed with dessert and there wasn't enough Lebanese bread in my opinion. I think the experience of a Lebanese hot beverage with dessert would have been ideal. Staff could be more friendly but perhaps this was because they were busy. I'll be going back regardless because the food is worth going back for!
Noticed that the dessert has improved from my last dining experience and our waitress was nice. Unfortunately, the lamb wasn't available on the evening we dined which was very disappointing.
Went here recently for dinner with a girlfriend and she booked us for the Jeeb menu which has gone up to NZD90.00/per person. This menu is great because you get a taste of mostly everything on the à la carte menu. Not sure where the lamb course went! Dessert was quite different this time - lots of flavours and textures for the palate. Still love the rice that came with the chicken shish (which was also good) and still like the fish and mezze courses (not a fan of fish tartare though only because I prefer my fish cooked!). Side dishes with the shish was delish. Our waitress was nice and somewhat personable. To drink ordered my usual G&T and after the dessert course a Turkish apple tea.
The food is superb! Beautifully seasoned, authentically made and well matched with drinks. St Kevin’s Arcade atmosphere is really good, and nice view of the tower.
Winning dining experience
Tucked into the lovely bustling St Kevin's Archade, Thursday was super busy. Gorgeous menu, loads for vegetarians/vegans. We tried half a dozen dishes, and beer. Lamb was excellent. Definitely going back
Lovely food with a great atmosphere! Would recommend if your in town
Treated ourselves in the middle of a nasty old winter's day in Auckland and man alive - was it worth it!! Yes, Yes, YES!! Food was authentic with a twist, flavours sensational, and overall the service was friendly and considerate. We walked out of there with bellies full of sunshine - even on a winter's day! Highly recommended!
Best food we've had in NZ so far. The lamb was tender and my wife loved the vegan dishes. We also had the homemade sodas and Arabic coffee. Very nice setting in the middle of a busy arcade.
Amazing experience. It was a very different experience for me, food tastes different from everything I tried before.
Staff is really amazing and kind. Food is a little experience. Chicken Sishi was around $28.
