Nice ambience, good service and yummy, affordable tapas style food. Ordered the arepitas (which came with guac and a capsicum salsa), Mushroom arepas, lentil & pear salad and the lava cake. The mushroom arepas were delicious and well flavoured, the arepitas were reminiscent of a cornbread tater tot but the real hero was the incredible guacamole they came with. The lentil salad had a nice flavour and good texture with the lightly charred broccoli. The lava cake could have done with more lava and was a little burnt on the bottom, but overall very tasty. Appreciated their range of vegetarian and gluten free options
The food, margarita and service was above and beyond! We had the beef and chicken tacos, pork belly arepa and the yucca chips. Will be coming back very soon. Cannot recommend enough.
Had lunch here on a quiet Sunday afternoon, food was great. We got a couple of tacos, the chicken skewers and totopos, plus a few beers. Service was good; attentive and efficient but not over bearing. Would definitely come back.

Its an ideal spot for catch up with friends, enjoy a pizza (they have wooden fire oven) and the happy hour!
Been there 3 times and the last one there was just one waiter, he was awesome, gave everyone an amazing service!
Every time I come here I feel the warmth from the staff and the service makes the experience even better. I usually come here for drinks and nibbles but recommend them all round. Amazing menu, kind staff, good service and the food is well priced and delicious. Thanks for being a warm comforting place to drink and eat on ponsonby road. Such an awesome place canât recommend enough
The food is as beautiful as the people who work there. Well, almost. Have never had food that wasnât delicious. Amazing atmosphere. My favourite place in Auckland đ
A great place to hang out with friends in weekends. Nice, rustic ambience, friendly staff and food totally worth the price. Place might be cramped up on weekends but waiting will not disappoint you.
I would love to go to Peru to taste some authentic fresh ceviche, those delicious raw tuna salads, though my non-seafood eating husband might have a hard time. When you are on Ponsonby road you are always spoilt for choice but also overwhelmed with the choices because there are so many good places you could go. However if you are looking for a non fussy place with good vibes and cool music options, I would recommend you to stop by here, Conch kitchen & bar.
Conch is one of my regular favourites. Great people, great environment and great food. A good selection of beers and other drinks. You have to get the yucca chips.

Bartender was really friendly. Ambience is nice on a weekday. Rum cola was good, the staff offered a few chocies for the type of rum which was good.
Very nice outdoor area and great music it all added to the overall look and feel of the place. We didn't order food but we saw all the food passing by to other tables and it look delicious and the menu was very inviting too. Three of us ordered caipirinhas, the three of them extremely dull the Bartender/waiter didn't seem happy when we asked for extra sugar cane, not sure if I will take the risk to order any other cocktail again, but I will definitely come back for the food and ambiance of the place.
I always recommend Conch to out of towners. The food is authentic and delicious, as well as well priced. Really chilled out atmosphere, usually really friendly staff. Only downside is while it would be the perfect spot for a hung over brunch, the coffee is terrible.
OMG I love this little place so much! Have you seen their collection of music there?? And that little walk to the back where we could sit on individual booth. The tacos, beef meal and the brûlée dessert was amazing! I took few groups there and everyone just love all their food there especially the gourmet pizzas! Highly recommended this place!
One of my favourite places along Ponsonby Rd - actually can't fault it so I'm giving it a 5.0. It's not fine dining or your usual ponsonby crowd (which is a plus) and it is a varied menu (think south american fare) which is very well done and friendly/helpful staff who genuinely seem to not mind their jobs.
Great place for a chill catch up with friends. Warm, inviting space, great drink specials and delicious South American food. Ticks all the boxes!
We stopped in to Conch for an early afternoon beer. First impression is that this place has a great courtyard hidden out the back - I highly recommend this if you're looking for a chill place in Ponsonby.
We ordered beer (Hallertau) and sugar cane juice (delicious, bet this place does a good cocktail).
Food wise, we ended up splitting the pork belly (also delicious). The crackling was crunchy and able to be cracked with a knife, and the pork itself was tender and not too fatty.
The coffee is good too.
Came for Sunday brunch. We were waiting for another member of the group who was half an hour late. The waiter came over and kept checking up on us for drinks orders as we were waiting for food orders. Friendly and was moving from table to table when he was in the area.
The food was really good especially the steak. Flavoursome and cooked well. The other stuff were also quite nice like the arepas (almost like a burger). The South American influenced menu was really interesting and would come back to try the other goodies on it.
Are here with friends, the food was great - a friend recommended the ribs and they didn't disappoint, they were so tender they slid from the bone.
Wine list was great, enjoyed the Pinot very much.
The only thing that let this place down was the service, the staff just didn't seem interested and after attempts to build a rapport with the waitress weren't successful we looked after ourselves.
Could be a really special place of the service was better.
Conch always delivers with laid back feel and awesome woodfired food. Menu changes seasonally always fresh. Hallertau on tap and good selection of wines.
A gem on ponsonby road- filled with decent + delicious food and some great drinks to match. If you like a chilled out vibe then this will be your jam.
Went here on friday night. Was an oasis in the busy ponsonby sprawling with drunk arrogant suits. Was busy, but I wouldn't describe the wait as long in any shape or form. Hallertau beer on tap and loads of other crafty options, service attentive but not overbearing, and food was great, well balanced across the options and well priced.
I have been here several times over the past few months with my boyfriend. We enjoy the food, my favorite is probably the pork belly, It was Superb! We also enjoy the woodfire pizzas, alongside a cold beer.
I would thoroughly recommend a visit if you are looking for somewhere to go in Ponsonby. The prices are pretty reasonable for Auckland.
The atmosphere is great, the staff are polite and friendly.Â
My partner loves looking through the records they have available:)
Dined here on Sunday night. Had a wood fired Pizza which was superb and Hand cut chips. Staff were so friendly. They had a good beer selection. Over all very positive experience. Â Wife an I have a 4 week old and they were very accommodating. Â Would come back again.
Tonight I had some food with a friend at Conch in Ponsonby Road.
The place is nice and cozy and the atmosphere is great. The menu is short but food is very authentic, a little fusion between traditional South American and comfort food.
I tried the beef and pork arepas and the meat and sauces were delicious. I must say as well I wasn't a huge fan of the dough anyway, it's made "gluten free" and that makes the arepas not as consistent and good as they usually are. Anyway, the arepas were nice and I would have them again.
My friend ordered the ceviche and he loved it, it seemed to have been soaking in lemon marinade for a while, but the fish meat looked good.
Conch is definitely recommended to go with your partner or friends before going out for drinks in Ponsonby Rd.
Read about this spot as had not heard of it previously- it is a little hidden opposite Ponsonby Central.
I tried the beef ribs which were their specialty. Slightly pricy considering there is really only meat & mash, but very delicious & filling.
One of my favourite places for a lazy weekend breakfast especially in the summer , nice laid back atmosphere with a lovely garden setting out the back! good music too to help wash down the food! and the organic feel to it all just adds to the experience! awesome coffees and lovely eggs bene
This place looks very cute. I never realised it was a cafe from the outside. I always thought it was a magazine shop or something similar.. I thought the inside is a little dark for my liking. But it sets that mood. It's very quiet and not too busy.. So I felt like I couldn't talk very loud. But it's nice to come to relax and unwind, they have free wifi too. Food is good, coffee is good. Service is good too, staff are very friendly.
Conch is a very cool eatery in Ponsonby, who would've thought this place existed. When you look at the front it just looks like a bar then you walk through to the back and they have outdoor covered booths, a small kitchen and woodfire oven.
The food is awesome too. Pizzas are good and the short ribs are amazing.
Friendly chilled out service
Great place to catch up with friends
It was a pleasant surprised finding this place. I wasnt aware this was a restaurant, decided to try it and was happy!
Quite cheap. Good food. Mexican style. You an sit out back. Very rustic.
Tried the ceviche, tacos and apple tart. Will come back for sure!
Delicious food and friendly service. We all enjoyed our food, sharing Portuguese chicken, pork tacos, beef rib, rosemary potatoes and a very good creme Catalan (which I refused to share it was too good). Will be back!!
Wow!!! This restaurant is by far the best one I've been to in months!!!
To be honest, I've discovered that place one evening because my friend and I were just looking for a nice place to seat and have one last glass of wine and a desert. The service was perfect and oh my god! Their deserts are amazing!
So, I went back two weeks later to try their food and a bit more wine and I still remember the flavors and I want more! So we tried a few dishes. We shared every dishes and it was a good way to discovers that they are the master of all their food! I wasn't disappointed by any dish!
Ill go there again and again and will recommand it to everyone!
If you're a foodie - you Must try the menu here, the chef's outdone herself đ€€
Interesting and mouth watering flavours, great service, delicious cocktails.
We tried the lamb rump on fermented polenta with Marmite butter - one of the best dishes I've ever had. The Szechuan and chimichurri steak and grilled Daikon were also up there.
The vibe was chill also, with some booths and more open seating too.
Only wish I could have polenty more!
Looking for a chilled night out and good food and margaritas. This is a greenlight. The pineapple margarita has a smokey flavour, which i havent tried before it's a winner.
Wanted to have a quick dinner and ended up staying a little longer to try the margaritas and some. The place and background music is a vibe.
Staff are friendly, service and clearing of our table was quick. Bathrooms clean.
Good chilled night out.
Food is outstanding! We had the potatoes, goat and chicken skewers, Achiote Fish and the most outstanding Banana Curry!
A very creative menu with complex flavours and lovely variety. Staff were friendly and made us a delicious espresso martini. Feel very welcome and cosy.
The food is incredible and the chef is absolutely amazing!!
Great service and cool, chill vibe
We had the best night and definitely will be back soon for some more delicious food and drinks :)
Came here for dinner with my mum. Very cool cozy atmosphere with private wooden booths out the back which was a perfect setting for a catch up with dinner. We shared the fish, kumara, leek and daikon which were all fantastic. Lots of interesting flavours, will definitely be back to try the rest. Hidden Gem.

Easy place to get to, centrally located, cool booths at the back for a catch-up with friends. Conch provides a good variety of food and cocktails at affordable prices. Tonight we had the yucca chips with aioli (yucca = root of the cassava plant, similar texture to potatoes), beef taco, red kidney bean taco, Margherita pizza, and lava cake for dessert. Good quality and good to see the "lava" flowing from the cake. I have previously had the fish taco but was mildly disappointed because the fish was under-seasoned. However, it is quite good when combined with the dressing - just make sure your bite has a bit of everything.
Great range of food to cater for our vegan & non-vegan friends, amazing service from Nicholas who crafted personalized cocktails for us - cute spot for chill Sunday dinner & drinks
Best place in Auckland for tacos - they are amazing! If you go at not too busy times itâs really fast to get your food. I like their black bean tacos the best and their sparking water with lime is also really good. The staff, especially the manager or the guy who runs the floor is excellent. Heâs always really friendly but efficient too, knows how to manage a restaurant for sure. Two thumbs up!
Stuffed pepper w fresh corn polenta is a must to try! đ
Amazing food, beer and the friendliest stay combine with a great vibe to make this a must visit place in Ponsonby.
Great menu. My partner had the blackened fish and absolutely raved about it. I had a beef taco and a pork belly arepas, both were delicious. Followed it up with the chocolate lava cake for dessert which was also beautifully presented and exquisite. Service was great: knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Made for a wonderful evening out.
A bit of a hidden gem this one. Great bar service, best in the local area in my opinion. For example beer are completely full, not nearly full as in many bars, very quick service and a generous happy hour. The bar goes a surprising distance out the back to give various seating options. Pizzas etc also available. A cool vibe.
Dropped in for a quick drink, stayed for delicious food and excellent service. The selection of tacos was amazing, frankly the best I've had in Auckland, and I'm assured by a regular they're not the best thing on the menu! Great ambiance, perfect hidden seating area out back, lovely smell of wood-fired oven roasting, good wine selection. If you're older like me (60+) don't be put off by the young and trendy Ber staff or the tattoos, they were a delight and gave great service even to the oldies. I'm going back!
Amazing service, fantastic food & great atmosphere! Had a lunch here with my girlfriend, we were in a bit of a hurry. The waiter was super helpful, served us very fast when we asked him about how long the meal take,s he ensured the kitchen speeds it up too. Had a relaxed lunch (even tho we had not much time) and I was pleasantly taken back by the food quality, we will be back
Awesome spot on Ponsonby Road serving South American food. We were a group of ladies dining early and were made to feel very welcome. We took advantage of their happy hour and tried lots of the menu too. Stand out are the Arepas (great taco alternative for gluten free people đ).
Had a refreshing cucumber cocktail on the lovely sunlit patio. And who doesn't love an Obama change bank!
Excellent service and delicious food. Staff were all so friendly and every dish we had was full of flavour. Great vibes. Will be back for sure and recommending to friends đ
