Prices are good for the variety of items in the buffet section. If you don't mind the crowd, it's good for a spot of lunch.
I love paradise. Always so delicious. The Indian style butter chicken and the butter paneer are delicious. The three pack of butter naan are so good too. Also recommend chicken 65 but the harabhara chicken has waaaaay too much oil. I tipped out 1/4 cup of oil from our dish. Makes it not so enjoyable when you see that.
Shared between 3 people, we got two mild baked butter chicken, 4 garlic naan, lamb chops and chicken 65.
The portions were massive and price was affordable as well! Service was good and the food tasted amazing. Super flavourful especially the garlic naan which I highly recommend! The chicken 65 was quite salty so definitely make sure you have rice next to you!
Cold nights call for some legit hot Indian food with my lovely bunch of colleagues !😝 This is now my favourite restaurant for Indian cuisine hahaha! Love the Indian butter chicken, meat was so tender! I reckon the fish tandoori was the best. It was my first visit and the food fails to disappoint. Portion was really big and really good value of money!
This is our favorite indian joint in central Auckland. We came here after lockdown and they have expanded big time. We ordered garlic naan, chicken masala curry, chicken 65, mutton biryani rice, and mango lassi. The garlic naan is so fresh and crispy, you can see the chefs making it in the front of store. I highly recommend the masala curry if you're after savoury curry with a kick. Chicken 65 is a light batter coated chicken that tasted chinese spices. Can't go wrong with mango lassi, order it to mute the spice haha. You have to try their delicious mutton biryani which how I describe an indian fried rice with very tender meat throughout it with very fragrant spices. The portions here are huge so prepare to eat left overs. Overall, great indian food with very organized service. It's a pay before you eat place. I'll be back here again!
You will never be disappointed. The value is not comparable to any other curry house. Once in 6 months for me..
I think it is the best Indian restaurant in Auckland. I love chilly chicken and lollipop chicken so much, and my parents are big fans of their naan.
I loved the buffet at Paradise, the staff are super friendly and so much choice. Plus it’s a buffet, what’s not to love? The naan is made fresh for you, and cut in half (such a good portion). I think it might be a favourite naan bread.
The lamb rogan josh and chickpea curry were my favourite. I love how you get to try all the curries too!
Tasty and great value for money... plenty of chicken in the $40 pack.

Its been a few years since I’ve had Paradise and they are as good if not even better than I remember. Theres so much to choose from the menu and everything we had was so good. We tried the chicken dum biryani, mutton biryani, Paradise special chicken tikka masala, lamb roganjl josh and garlic naan. I was wowed from the first bite. Their food is nothing like the other takeaways out there and their flavours are just so distinct, even their garlic naan tasted different! I am very impressed by Paradise, not just with the quality of the food but also the reasonable prices and value for money. I’ve heard so many great reviews of this place and definitely did not disappoint! will come back and try the other items on their menu which I’m sure be also be very good! Superb!
yummy food! authentic north indian food :) wish the garlic naan was a tad more garlicky but no complaints. they also had free containers for takeaways just incase there’s too much food.
When craving a good curry or korma...this is the place to go. I’ve eaten a good curry in Delhi,India & Paradise Lamb Korma truly took me back there. The butter chicken was Yum & you can’t go wrong with good basmati rice. Though The naan was too thick & doughy unfortunately. Should’ve ordered the roti.
Nice and affordable Indian restaurant
If you don’t already know about this place, you have been living under a rock. Their food is finger licking good guaranteed. Their portions are big just how I like it. The garlic naan is freshly made. The meat is fresh and has no fat or skin (personal preference). I ordered their butter chicken non Indian style which is more creamy and westernised. I have tried the Indian style and it is also very delicious but more spicier and less creamier if that’s how you like it done. Their chicken lollipops are also to die for , you must try. It tastes extra Smokey as if they cooked it on charcoal. This is my go to Indian food place, they also offer takeaways and buffet at their two other chains. The food here is also super affordable , a definite gem for me.

We had Paradise cater for our workplace of 180 and they absolutely wow'ed the staff.
By far the best Indian catering we have had as an office. Excellent value for money and the service is exceptional. Flexible with their orders and were able to switch to another date at last minute. If you are sourcing catering for your workplace or larger events, these guys should be your go to.
I've tried a lot of Indian restaurants, and this is right up there for flavour. I usually get the eggplant dish, Bagaray Baigan and it is smokey and delicious. Naan is always freshly made and my kids love it too. The portions are large and two dishes with naan do the four of us. Well recommended.
Long wait time. Very busy for a sunday. Very popular restaurant.
I was super excited to try Paradise as I had heard so many amazing things about it! I ordered online and went to pick it up and it was evident how popular the place was as both the restaurant and the takeaway shop were packed which was a super good sign!
My order took about 15 minutes extra than the time I was told to come out which I completely didn’t mind as they were evidently very busy but the staff were super lovely and ended up giving me a free drink because of the wait! Which I appreciated so much and didn’t expect
I ordered a mild veggie manchurian and unfortunately it was more medium than mild. I’m terrible with spice so I couldn’t eat it which I was sad about but it tasted really good from the little bits that I had!
The garlic naan was delicious and the onion pakora was was a huge hit with everyone
My sister had the butter chicken and she loved it, it had way more chicken in it than other butter chickens that she’s had from other places
My mum had the lamb Khorma and she loved it and said you could tell it was super authentic
Would have been a 5 star experience if my order had been mild instead of spicy but I recommend Paradise to everyone! Food was so good, staff lovely & definitely worth the wait
The food is always delicious, service very friendly and efficient. Never had any complaints or issues with anything. Always a pleasure to return!
I have taken friends to Paradise restaurant confident in the continued quality of the food and fair price. The onion pakoras are legendary and while pricy are worth it for the shared enjoyment. The mutton biryani is also legendary and never fails to please me.
My very first time trying Paradise and had an enjoyable dining experience.
The Lollipop Chicken is always a frequent mention and highly recommended. Despite the vibrant colour, the chicken was lightly dusted with special flavored salt and on first bite was succulent and tender chicken meat.
Onion Pankora is a great option for sharing and for those who love to eat fried foods. Coated in chickpea batter, this appetiser was well drained and not oily at all. It was crunchy, lightly dusted with flavoured salt and came paired with the most refreshing cucumber/mint dip.
The two curries and naan did take a little while to be served (as specifed on their menu it allow 25 mins) but is well worth the wait. The curries are creamy and aromatic, and full of spice.
The restaurant is huge and has a range of seating to cater to any size of groups with some parts of the restaurant being more quite. The overall environment is very clean and staff are prompt and friendly.
One of our favourite resturants. Have eaten here on a few occassions with family. Easily afforable for large groups and heaps of off street parking. If coming in large groups highly reccomend coming early as you could be waiting around for tables to become available. Example: we had a group of 10, arrived at 7pm, had to wait for 30minutes until a table was free.
We enjoy eating the butter chicken;generous chicken pieces, lollipop chicken & the freshly made naan bread coated in garlic butter.
Staff are so welcoming, friendly & patient.
I think they did everything perfectly. Nothing at all to complain about. The lovely smoky flavor of the meat, the combination of fragrance of the rich spices in curry sauce, the subtle sweetness of the rice. I also ordered a cup of mango lassi to go with my spicy dish and it appeared to be very well-matched (Maybe it's too sweet for people who doesn't have sweet teeth).
I've been here a couple of times, from recommendations from friends, and I have never been disappointed by them. The only issue was the seat we were placed at was right next to a metal box, and it was very difficult to eat with the box taking up half the seat space. We did ask to change seats to an empty table (which remained empty whilst we were there for 1.5 hours), but were told that there were guests waiting for that table.
We ordered the fish masala which was absolutely amazing! (I'm not usually a fan of fish, but I would 100% reorder this again). I also ordered the chef special curry, my usual go-to is the lamb korma and would definitely recommend both. The curry is creamy and goes so well with both rice and naan. My go-to Naan is the cheesy garlic naan, but this time I opted for the paneer, and I'm not sure if it was just me, it reminded me of marmite and cheese (which in my opinion is a good thing). We were also recommended the biryani, which was great with the curry, and also great on its own. I would reccomend buying the big family-sized portion for takeaway next door if you have a party to cater for.
For dessert we got double ka meetha, which was quite similar in my opinion to bread pudding, but with nuts and fried fruit.
Paradise Buffet*
Been to all 3 of their outlets, their restaurant, their takeaway and their buffet and they are all good in their own ways. Restaurant has really good portions although it’s slightly more pricy but still worth it, takeaway prices has been increasing over the few months but the quantity remains the same, buffet is just an amazing way to have a variety of everything for a standard price ☺️
I had takeaways on recommendation of several work colleagues. Food was amazing - rich and flavourful and fresh. Portions were huge. Can't wait to try again!
Authentic Indian food restaurant recommended by all my Indian friends. Food was always tasty and customer service was great. Their buffet was super delicious as well.
Hubby and I absolutely adore Indian food and thought we would give this place a go since we don't often come to Auckland.
We were pleasantly surprised by the authentic Indian environment and were absolutely spoiled for choice. We tried the Chicken Tikka Masala, Vegetable Biryani and Vindaloo.
All of our dishes were delicious and had just the right amount of herbs and spices. The garlic naan and poppadoms were cooked to perfection. The window into the kitchen so you can see what the chefs are up to was a nice touch also.
All we can say is if we are back in Auckland any time soon we will definitely be visiting paradise again. Thanks guys for the great meal.
Best Indian cuisine, the meats and naan bread were tasty and very delicious. They had a very good service and also their employees were really polite.
I have been to the buffet before and decided to give the dine in restaurant a go. The Indian butter chicken and naan were delicious, portion sizes were big. This is a fantastic place if you're in the mood for Indian food, they do takeaways too.
So far, this palce is the best!! I always ordered from the takeaway section, but it does not reduced its quality! For $12 you can mix and match 2 different choices of meats. And what i love is the size of the takeaway bowl. Huge!!! I will always comeback hungry for more!
Went about 6pm and bought some butter chicken, lamb korma, garlic naans and rice in their takeaway store. Tasty food, meat in each dish were soft and tender, rice well cooked and spiced. Butter chicken kid friendly. Portions were generous (next time I’ll order one curry for every two adults, especially if I order with naan or rice).
Ambience and service were ok, saw more people waiting for their takeaways than ordering.
Love the concept of free food for people in need - didn’t have much food in the cabinet though (just one box of rice and a couple of naan)
Best Indian food I’ve ever had, not to mention it’s a buffet. The value is incredible. I highly recommend this place as it’s the best Indian food you can ask for, buffet or not.
tasty. love nan bread with garlic butter sauce in particular. everything a little bit too creamy. tummy gets filling so fast. cannot have too much. the pumpkin kheer is delicious as well.
Best casual dining (Indian) in central Auckland. I do worry that they use additives and colouring in their curries however the flavour and price point awards them a 5 star rating from me. I am a frequent diner!
I’ve been here twice. This is one pf my favourite buffet restaurant in the city. One of the good reason is the Free Parking. The food is fantastic if your fun of Indian Food. One of my favourite is Naan bread. I can feel the butter. You can do walk-in in this restaurant since they have more tables & chairs.
Everything was so delicious and the portion sizes were very generous! I loved the jalfrezi chicken and chicken manchurian :) Service was really prompt - I can’t wait to come back!
Best curries by far. The meat is so delicious and tender, melting in your mouth. More importantly is the star of the show- the garlic naan. Undoubtedly the best naan in Auckland!
Yes yes yes! Best Indian in town! They have literally taken over every inch of Sandringham- but for good reason.
Their curries and their naan are sooooo good and the pricing is fantastic . Of course you must try their famous lollipop chicken.
OMGG have to say this is one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to!! I don’t really know about the feel though because it’s way too hot and too smokey-ish I have to take off my jacket but the tandoori chicken and tandoori chicken masala, chicken pasanda, etc.. was really nice n idk bout u but the staff were really nice to me! Booking is too long but usually we can keep ourselves busy for a while so not a problem.. overall 4/5!!
The fact that theres dine in, take away and a buffet for paradise is a win/win for everyone! I loved seeing it grow from a small restaurant to a business that just keeps growing. Its so good that you’ll see all types of ethnicities eating there because the spice levels are just right, even indians because the taste is as authentic it can get☺️ the buffet’s best part is the fresh-and-yet-ready-to-go naan that are buttered to perfection. The size proportions are GREAT for the price you pay! Honestly for 3-4 people you only need 2 dishes and 3 naans. This place is great for small group settings and larger ones too! Writing this review is making myself go hungry all over again😝.
This place has been praised many times by different newspapers, media and bloggers the likes of Urban List, Viva, Concrete Playground even Stuff and NZ Herald they all agree that this is place to get the best curries in Auckland. I can’t agree more, even my colleagues and friends rave about it. I was quite late in discovering this place, just actually ate here a couple of months ago, because it is quite far from where I live, though I had tried a lot of its dishes thanks to colleagues who brings it to office, there was even a time where they just drove there for takeaway to be served as our lunch.
Love the garlic naan and aloo mutter here! The portions were big and it was a pretty reasonable price. Service was good and quick and it wasn't too busy (we went on a Monday night). Will be back again!
Awesome indian food. Buffet dinner is very good. being hyderabadi, i thought food won't be matching with that style but i am amazed with the way they serve kababs and etc. will definitely visit many more times.
So good... good was beautiful... service was good... only downer is car parking but other than that... they rotate their menus on the buffet side but it was all 100 top notch
I usually only visit the dine in and each time I have visited the food has always been delicious and filling. The service is very nice as well and I find the food pricing very cheap.
Amazing food, great service. My friend/family and I go here often and the food is always amazing. My favourite is chicken 65 and cheese naan. There is often a wait due to the popularity of this place however the wait is worth it.
Yummiest food 👌🏻👅 must try chicken and mutton biryani really amazing taste 👌🏻👍🏻 one of the best chicken biryani i have ever tasted. the chicken was really tender must visit place👌🏻
I’m just annoyed at myself that I didn’t try this place earlier. The food here is AMAZING!!! Super quality Indian food at affordable prices. Everything we had were just SO GOOD, will definitely come back!
Food 9/10 Service 7/10 Ambience 8/10
in the heart of sandringham this place is a goldmine for Indian food.
the food is amazing and the food comes out very quickly. they are always packed so would recommend going early and going with a big appetite!
Be careful to get right paradise because there are 3! Visited the buffet for 20$ per person. Great value with heaps of choices. Love the unlimited naan and popcorn chicken. Biryani tasted great too. Make sure to get in early because this place gets busy.
Good food is what drives everyone to a restaurant frequently and Paradise deserves that tag, Good Food, Freshly Served
Nevertheless, There is difference between the quality of food that you get on takeaways on weekends n weekdays.
Takeaway stuff on a weekday clearly stays low on quality compared to weekends, Wonder why that would happen
That's my two cents worth
Overall, Best place for having Indian Food!!
Had been served by friendly service and nicely presented food. Was a really popular restaurant although it was a weekday dinner. Parking available on the side of roads (does jot have allocated parking for their customers). They had lovely naan bread and beautiful curry. Recommended.
Went to the buffet night with my team from work, could NOT believe that it was $18.00 per head. Food was delicious and filling. Worth it. I don't have any photos because I was too busy trying to sample everything lol. Would definitely go back 👌👌
Paradise has changed the Indian food dynamic.
Never disappoints and always tasty! They are always the busiest spot on Sandringham day in and day out. Lots of dishes to choose from!
Came here for dinner with a group of friends for the first time and it really was the best Indian food I’ve had!
The only let down were the naans- they were quite hard and crunchy as opposed to being soft.
Went to the buffet which was at a really reasonable price. I loved Paradise because I got to sample many dishes rather than committing to one curry and rice dish. We were able to have our table of ten seated during a ready busy period without waiting too long (as they don’t accept bookings) Would recommend the lollypop chicken and pickled onions.
We have dined at the paradise buffet side a few times now and each time has been a 10/10 for food. A great selection on vegetarian and meat dishes. The best naan bread we have tried. Chicken Lollipops and the selection of curries are the delicious. Only $20.ages 11yrs up, $15. 4-10ys & under 4 free(saturdsay). Mango Lassi only $3. And can drinks $2.
Friendly staff.clean and tidy. Only one thing is you have a max of 60mins to dine and it's a very busy restaurant so expect noise. They take no bookings ad it's first in first serve.however the flow is quite good and waiting times haven't been too bad each time we went.
Excellent food and variety. Always busy so hard to get seat on Sunday. Price for buffet is good. Need a bit more variety in sweet dish.......
Paradise is our go-to place for great Indian food. I just love saying let's go to Paradise!! 😁 I'm not a big eater of starchy carbs and I love that there's a good salad bar.
Food is still great but I don't like the way they have changed. Once they nearly overtook Sandringham they became arrogant. No more trying of the curry sauces at the take away, the pre-cooked curries nearly never change, waiting times very long at certain times. I have moved to Bawarchi which not only has the same or better quality of the curries but also still has kept down on earth with customer service
Best biryani in the town...
well they have 3 joints, if you are in hurry, takeaway would be ur choice. if u want to spend some time with ur loved one, dinein is ur option and they have a dedicated joint for buffet too...
food is grt, haven't found a better biryani than paradise in auckland yet. however in past few weeks they have reduced the quantity they used to serve ...may not be sifficient for some. apart from that i like everything abt this place.
Great food over here. Authentic indian food i ever tasted in new zealand. Perfect for dining ambience is very clean and happen ing. I would definitely recommend this place.
Nice and tidy restaurant.food was good and service was good too.i would like to highly recommend this restaurant to all my family and friends!!

For $20 and all you can eat buffet Indian food... who would complain?? Long queue and you better get there early, no bookings either! They give you only 1 plate per person, no takeaway or wastage (might incur extra charges) and you only have 1.5 hour to eat. Many types of indian curries, briyanis, stir fries, noodles, naan and desserts. Our favourite is the lollipop chicken. It’s always gone the moment they are out from the kitchen. Naan is so fresh and made to order with garlic or butter. Starve the whole day so you can eat more, haha!
We often eat here - Paradise has grown in size - reflects its popularity - good food & not too expensive- always satisfying- today we ate the Lamb seekh kebab🤗 from Jaipur to New Delhi & Hyderabad to Mumbai & cruising on high seas - it was the best I have eaten thus far👏
I've only had their Chicken biryani and butter chicken and i was nice, great customer service only thing is that this place gets crazy busy, but it's worth the wait. i would recommend this place if you're looking for some authentic indian food.
Tried the buffet. Delicious curries and naan bread. The food was so filling i was almost stuffed after my first plate. There was a long queue so be sure to get there early — they open 6:30pm. Very worth the $20.
It's my favorite Indian restaurant in Auckland. Their butter Naan makes me fall in love which I am a person who don't like pasta. I recommend Butter Chicken and Pasinday Lamb. Not like other Indian dish, sweet is not the only taste of their Butter Chicken. The meat is cooked very tender. The lamb is also cooked very well, with their special curry, very delicious. I've already recommend this restaurant to lots of my friends, they all love it.
Best Indian place in Auckland. I was amazed by their biryanis and all the food available, chicken 65, harabhara chicken, manchurian chicken, butter chicken, etc.
Quality used to be better before. Still highly recommend this one but could get very crowded. Best Indian food in Auckland. Great service every time I visited
Looks and tastes good. Great ambience. Well priced. Can't think of any cons except the long wait time
Awesome food, great portions. Tried almost every dish on the menu. This place never disappoints. Love the food and the service. Highly recommended to all the Asian food lovers.
I m here to watch T20 cricket match between India & New Zealand , and like all Indians I started looking for Indian food despite eating it every day back home ...a frnd adviced paradise ...Excellent taste! Not only chicken but vegetable too , all other items in the menu as well. Don't miss it when you're around this city......
First time here and was very happy with our experience. The food was outstanding. Fresh, tender and in very generous portions. Nice atmosphere. Owner is obviously a cricket fan. Loved the meat curries and the naans, especially the paneer naan. We will definitely come again and recommend this to our friends.
Well my gosh, best indian restaurant in Auckland. The naans are actually good not too thick and chewy and it’s actually cooked properly. Great service, the workers there were really nice and polite. Great food and experience overall.
I love Indian food but only because to watch my weight I don’t come often. Haven’t been here for a long time but I’m writing this review even before tasting their food. The staff are great! No need to mention about the food :)
Went to the Dine - In and got the chicken tikka masala, lamb korma, butter chicken, chicken biryani, lollipop chicken and naan. It was a lot of food between four! We ended up taking away half of it yet despite this, it only came to around $25 per person which is exceptional value for the amount of food we had including a mango lassi each. You have to go up to a counter to order which is a minor inconvenience but the staff were friendly. The food was good, full of flavour and the aroma of spices. The biryani is some on the best biryani I’ve had and portion sizes were decent.
Food - 4/5
Service - 4/5
Price - 4/5
Ambience - 3.5/5
From last month we been to the takeaway restaurant and dining one once or twice in week, in takeaway restaurant the girl which was tall and healthy she was very nice, explained very well about the food. Bought karahi paneer was bit oily but tasty. The dining restaurant taste wasn’t good as like takeaway one but was good, will surely come back 😁 in future.
Best place to come if anyone is interested in indian cuisine. Most of the time it stays busy, staffs are friendly and food is yummy. We often go there with friends and family, never been disappointed with their food quality and service.
Best Indian restaurant in NZ!Brought some visitors from Brisbane they said they haven’t enjoyed such delicious halal Indian food before! Good food, good service , clean environment & a friendly boss, Sala 👍
This is a very busy local place however this has to be THE best Indian restaurant I have come to. First, I love how they have a dining and takeaway area that are both separate from each other which helps to avoid any holdup or delay in serving food. Second, they have a fridge full of different curries that they leave available for the homeless to take for free, such a good deed and lastly the food itself is authentic, tasty and of great quality! They have a variety of options both meat and vegetarian and customer service is quick and efficient. Will happily return in the future.
I was told by a friend to try this place out and I am glad I did because it has the best butter chicken in Auckland. I went to the buffet side of the restaurant and they have a lovely range of curries and Indian dishes. The nan bread with garlic and butter is so amazing.
We live out East but we 'go the extra mile' here just to buy their family pack Biryani. At one stage, there were very little meat on their biryani but our last order a couple of weeks ago was the best ever! It was full of meat in big chunks too (we ordered the Lamb Biryani). Their other dishes at $12 per pack are very reasonably priced. Paradise is definitely our favourite for us to drive so far to get here while there are many Indian restaurants in our local suburb.
Had the Paradise Biryani Combo and it’s really good. The best we’ve ever had!! We live in Botany Downs and it’s worth the drive. Definitely a must try!
I go here for the food and it’s always great. We always end up taking some home with us too as we don’t live close by. Definitely worth the trip every time.
We have never dined in but have bought takeaway. The food is yummy and very reasonable. Be careful with the spice even their mild-medium is hot. Also the food is oily which makes it extremely tasty but not the healthiest option. For parties you can’t go wrong ordering from here. Ooo and the chicken lollipops... to die for. Go for it
No words....just love the biryani at paradise. No wonder it is the most busiest place in the Sandringham suburb. Sometimes I feel the biryani is much tastier than the ones that I have tasted back home....paradise keep it up!!! You guys are awesome 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Wow. Impressive. Lots of value for money here. Loads of variety and choices. Chicken lollipops were sensational. Only small rant would be all the curries were spicy as well as the biryani and after a few bites couldn’t taste anything as my mouth was burning and staff need a bit of training on customer service. still worth the money though and would recommend!
Enjoyed the food. The Paradise special Maneer masala was yummy and my friends thoroughly enjoyed the chicken Biriani. Parking abit of a problem but overall a good experience.
This restaurant has best value for money. We ate in their buffet restaurant a couple of times. Food was great with different dishes to choose from. Place was nice and packed with customers. Service was good, staff were friendly. I particularly liked their freshly made Naan bread. You can see them cooking it in their tandoor oven which I find entertaining. To sum up food 4.5/5 service 4/5 and place 4/5
All our food was fresh and delicious. I would of given it a 5 but we weren’t able to order alcohol at the restaurant which was a let down. Apart from that the restaurant was clean, service was fast and adequate.
Very busy local in Sandringham.
Little in the way of atmosphere, basic in its presentation and no alcohol on sale which is understandable...those are the only negatives because the food and flavours are amazing!
Price is pretty good with meals $17-20 and a decent amount of food for your buck.
Rich, fragrant Indian cuisine at its very best, why haven’t we been here before!!!
We’ll be back very soon.
A great selections of dishes, lovely flavours and, huge servings. The Paradise special masala was really tasty, and the naan bread was great to clean up the plates. Friendly service. The mango lasse drink is sweet and refreshing.
Being from Mumbai, I always crave for Northindian food.. and I heard a lot about this place and I visited this restaurant with my hubby and friends and we had gone for buffet dinner. I enjoyed every delicacies being served. Infact every single dish had their own unique flavour which is to be appreciated. Would love to visit the place again.
Absolute Paradise with the most satisfying meal - savoured every morsel of the chicken tikka and scraped the cast iron for more! The curries were fresh & bright & delicious. The Garlic Naan was the best I’ve had... Went back twice in a week 😉 The service was efficient & friendly... Thank You 🙏
Called in here on Saturday 22 Septmber 2018 for a good feed of Indian food. We turned up as they dont take bookings & did not have to wait, we were given a table upstairs. Wow what a great place & great selection of mains & starters. The chicken nibbles were yummy. There cook your man fresh. For $20 very good value. We will be back.
If you love biryani and mughlai food you cannot miss this place at all! Fluffy buttery naans, creamy thick curries with generous portions of veges and paneer and the amazingly rich mango lassi.
Love the way they serve starters on a sizzler plate, gives the food a great touch, and keeps it warm till the last bite. Mint chutney is so authentic, and salads so fresh!
Paradise is hands down my favorite Indian restaurant in Auckland. Hubs and I usually plan our weekends around this part of the city so that we can quickly grab lunch here. Service and staff are excellent. Lovely atmosphere, good customer service and food is absolutely lipsmacking.
I'm always looking forward to dining here! Kudos to the owners and the chefs :)
Paradise never disappoints, I strongly recommend them as the authentic Indian food restaurant to all friends. Simply love their Biriyani’s. the veg curries can sometime be ‘hit or miss’ - if I have this day how they can improve this will be it.. can’t fault them otherwise! Especially love their food for the needy shelf- keep up the good work guys!!!
Just had my brother in laws dinner from paradise takeaway, wow what a feast!!!! Everything was delicious nice and hot and very tasty!!! I will definitely be back here for a feed 10/10.......
Taste resembles with typical Mughlai food in India. One of the best Indian restaurants in Auckland for sure. Value for money. Would like to visit again and again.
Very tasty buffet dinner. Everything was yummy.
Some problems we face not related to taste.
1. There are 3 independent outlet take away, dine in and buffet. So first we enter to dine in area and from there they send us to buffet section. So all this was confusing.
2. Mostly buffet system is different then this one. As i asked for 2 naan and the naan person said to me one person one nan. Now i am still not sure that for second round of refill i can get another nan or not. And due to embarrassing feeling i did not ask as well 😋
As naan was damn tasty and i really want one more.
Rest everything was 👏 .
Best place to crash if you like indian buffet in auckland. Cheap and large portion. Advice high protein food and some are oily. Anyway worth for 18-20 nzd. Eat all you can do not waste food
Ordered their indian butter chicken (med), chicken dum biryani and garlic naan to share between the two of us. Butter chicken was not as spicy as I imagined it would be, generous chicken pieces and it was okay for me. Highlight is the biryani for me, soo yum! Portion is generous too, and the garlic naan is to die for! The combination of naan, garlic and butter melting in your mouth is a flavour explosion! Will come again to try their other menus.
We don’t know about you, but as the weather starts getting chillier in Autumn, we yearn for a cosy spot to settle down with a plate of steaming hot curry #comfortfood. We don’t know about you, but a few of our Indian friends have said that Paradise serves some of the most authentic Indian curries. And… we don’t know about you, but after drooling over the sizeable menu featuring five types of naan, biryani, masala and korma, each your own customisable spicy levels….we couldn’t not eat our way into a food coma. But what we DO know about you, is that you. Need to go to Paradise. Now.

Always a good experience ordering from here! Esp when you are craving indian food! We specially liked the green chicken curry and biryani! Its a little far from where I lived, but i didnt mind taking the bus for this!
ALWAYS full but definitely worth a visit!! Probably should call them first for table availability :) Normally would order their chicken lollipops, chicken biryani rice, naan and some gravy. The nice part is that we can ask for different levels of spiciness :)
Came to the buffet for $20/adult (weekend price). I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and am happy to say that it’s well worth the price. The selection was excellent and chicken lollipops and naan were a standout! Make sure to get there early as there’s always a line. Some curries were delicious and some were average but overall a good experience :) flavours were pretty authentic and I was very very full afterward.
Really good and authentic Indian food. Their buffet is even better and so affordable. If they had more simple Indian side salad dishes selections that would be 5 star. Very recommended!
Never eaten at the restaurant, but we get takeways from here quite often! The foods good!Place is always clean and busy! Good customer service and food always look good and fresh! Will recommend this place to anyone!!
Have visited this place many times over past few years! Excellent food; authentic taste. Definitely one of the best places in Auckland for good indian food! My favorite dishes are the chicken biryani and chicken mughlai though every dish I have tried has met or exceeded my expectations. The naan is also quite fresh and tasty. The ambience in the restaurant is amazing and the staff are accomodating. Would definitely recommend the a'lacarte or the takeaways over the buffet. Excellent location in Sandringham and very popular. Would be good if they took bookings because sometimes we need to wait outside for a table. Will definitely visit again many times!
Well it’s Paradise, the name says it all. Number 1 Indian restaurant serving close to authentic Indian food.
Food - 4/5, good portion size, presentable, appetizing n tastes good. Could improve on its lamb biryani n the lamb appetizer that serve with bone is a disappointment. Apart from that most of the other dishes that I have tried there on several occasions were good. Afghani kebab in appetizer n kohlapuri chicken in main is highly recommended. There own chicken special is pretty decent as well.
Service- 3.5/5 for dine in and 2.5/5 for take away. No matter what every time our food was served pretty late. I understand they are busy but they must speed up there service. Waiting to pick up 2 portions of chicken lollipop from their takeaway outlet for over 30 minutes is not acceptable.
Ambience -4/5, place both dine in n takeaway is clean, welcoming n got a good charm to it. Especially the takeaway kitchen section with see through glass window is a welcoming factor showcasing some of the Indian delicacies n how they were prepared. If only their service speed improves somehow...
Went there for a work gathering. The lamb biriyani was very good, with just enough spices. The curry on the otherhand was just average. I would definitely go again for the biriyani. Prices is fair for their lunch menu.
The food is always good. I tried the buffet this time as the buffet entry price and one meal at the restaurant is same. The taste of the food is also good however it was very noisy and I had to wait to be seated so I will come back to the restaurant next time rather than the buffet.
Stoked to have been brought here by an Indian co-worker recently, and when I talked to my other friends about Paradise it seemed like their reputation for good value food is pretty solid!
As an appetiser, we shared the Afghani chicken – which was a bit spicy and came on a sizzling plate. The meat was juicy and tender; so full of flavour.
While our vegan friend got her own curry, the remaining 4 of us shared 3 curries and even had a bit of leftovers. We had the 'Indian butter chicken’ – which tastes a bit more like a tikka masala, and is definitely richer in flavour and texture than the regular Westernised butter chicken you get at the mall.
Our naans had nice textures; fluffy and just the right amount of ‘doughiness’ to dip in the curry sauce.
Paradise seems to have a wide range in their menu, and overall it seems like really good value for money. Service was friendly and prompt too, so would be very happy to come back again!
Without a doubt one of the most popular North Indian restaurants in Auckland, Paradise was a place I just had to try. The overall business is segmented into three parts – buffet, dine-in and takeaway. For the purposes of this review my friends and I went for the dine-in experience.
The Chicken Lollipop resembled a typical fried chicken dish but wasn’t heavy on the skin. Despite its red coloration, it didn’t taste ethnic at all. It came with a red salsa type sauce which I didn’t care for as the lollipop tasted perfectly fine without it. The appetizer that blew me away though was the Afghan Chicken. It has a bit of a smoky taste and the Tandoori flavours really came out. The pieces were boneless and very tender making it one of my favourite dishes of the night. It also came with a green yoghurt which I liked better than the salsa but I still preferred the chicken without it. The Naan breads were appropriately soft but I could not tell the difference between the two different flavours.
Interestingly, this was my first time ordering “Indian Butter Chicken”. The spice level I chose was medium and it had a decent kick while not being sweet at all. If I were to compare it to standard fare Indian takeaway, I would say it more closely resembled a Tikka Masala opposed to westernized Butter Chicken. We also ordered both the chicken and lamb Paradise Special Masala. The curry itself resembled a Korma but was slightly different. The lamb was tender so while I enjoyed the chicken more, it really comes down to preference. This is another menu item I’d recommend. The curries come with a bowl of rice and enough sauce to go around but the sauce isn’t as abundant like with ‘lower tier’ Indian eateries.
Due to its popularity, bookings are not accepted and as the restaurant fills up extremely quickly, navigating the area becomes a little cumbersome. The servers are prompt to take and deliver orders but I would not describe them as friendly. The actual aesthetic is very nice and modern looking. The lighting is good and it is very clean.
Paradise is a restaurant that lives up to its name and reputation as the food is flavourful and prepared remarkably well. The price point is very reasonable and this is further backed up by how filling the portion sizes are. When looking for any kind of dining experience ranging from simple takeaway to entertaining others, look no further than Paradise to satisfy your North Indian cuisine cravings.
Best Indian food I've tasted, all the selection seems authentic. A must get for us here is the mutton briyani, lamb paya, harabhara chicken. I also like the idea that this company is also feeding the people in need. For people who are struggling they are welcomed to take free food which is displayed in the warming cabinet as soon as you walk in of the take-away section of the restaurant
I Love this Restaurant have been here for takeaways a few times. The food is amazing, staff great. I didn’t give it 5* because it isn’t licensed. However it is always packed.
Excellent as usual. Food is great and very consistent. My favourite place when I am in the area. This place gets very busy but well worth the effort.
Came here for lunch and ordered the chicken tikka masala, chicken dum biryani and roti and naan. It took ages to come out but the food was amazing and very well flavoured. This was definitely the right portion for 3 people as any more than that and it’d be too much. Reasonably priced and nice clean interiors.
Best most authentic Indian takeaway around. The catering for large orders is fantastic - we order on a Friday for work with multiple requests and everyone's order is separated - great service.
Are you even Indian (or an Aucklander) if you haven't been to Paradise? I don't really know what Authentic Indian cuisine tastes like, but I'll happily adopt these guys for it.
The food is absolutely amazing, no matter what you order, and with them now owning half of Sandringham and the record for long lines, most of Auckland seems to think so too.
Have had several curries from Paradise and everytime, the food is great. Love the mango chicken dish and that naan is the best.
If looking for great quality Indian food, this is the place!
I order meal for 70 persons. The food quality and quantity was really good, guests like food. The food was delicious, sufficient and lovely. Quantity was well enough, have extra.
For 18$ buffet there’s nothing to complain about. Probably a little bias because I just love Indian food and I don’t think they can go wrong. Eat all you can curry chicken mutton lamb vege naan and the dessert is yummy too!
One of the best curry place in auckland.
Same owner for all 3 - dine in, takeaway, buffet.
Food is always consistent and delicious.
Highly recommend the Harabara chicken, chicken lollipop, and Indian butter chicken.
Food 5/5
Service 4/5
Parking: can be difficult but lots of street parking opposite side
My go-to place for Indian food. Never had any complaints about Paradise. Staff is first class, food is amazing and service is very professional. Great ambience as well. Chicken lollipops and Chicken Tandoori Masala are 👌
Every bite of that Biryani brings me closer to home.
Never a time i would visit this place and not order biryani... Oh and don’t forget to try the Haleem, this is the only place you can get that authentic hyderabadi muslim delicacy, its lip-smacking!
Hands down the best curry in Auckland, the long waits and lines reflect this. Best to get in early or order over the phone. The staff are friendly, there’s even a fridge stocked with free food for the less fortunate. Don’t miss out on trying the biryani 😊
First best good Indian food experience in NZ.
There was a time when we were addicted to eat multiple times a week... Long list of favourites..
Chicken Madras, chicken lollipops
Baigarey baingan, malai kofta, paneer pasanda
Mango lassi 😊
No doubt biryani is good but it keeps on Changing alot.
Most recent was a great experience 👍
Large group at the buffet this evening; effortless experience & great service! Food on par with the dine-in restaurant. Well done, team - thanks for regularly checking in, and making our evening memorable!
I had buffet. It was only 20 box. Especially naan(?) the bread was good. But plate is one for one person. No changes. I was full after one round so it was okay to use.
One of the best places in Auckland to have authentic Indian food. Indoor outdoor seating availble. Fast service and an amazing staff.
Amazing for takeaways. And the best for hydrabadi biryani. Soft on pocket. Hard on taste. You will find chicken and mutton options.
In the pics:
Kadhai paneer
Indian butter chicken
Dal makhni
Do try their kheer. Its yummmm.
Pricewise: 45$ for 2
Return: again and again.
Paradise takeaways are sooooo yummy but they need more stores. Our favs are lollipop chicken when they have some left and the made to order butter chicken is always tasty. Can be a lengthy wait but we'll worth it. Just wish they had another store closer to Mt Welly lol
Paradise never fails to deliver on flavour, freshness. I always order the same and it always tastes good. They are consistent and clean. The only downfall would be that my last curry was not as Spicy as I would wanted. I asked for hot and got mild.
Good range of curry's. Fairly basic ambience, but appeared clean and the meals arrived in a decent time. My daughter and I both enjoyed our meal and had plenty of food left over to take home for the next day!
Dined here for lunch and the place wasn’t too packed. The ambiance is good the place was clean and we were seated right away. We ordered chicken biryani, butter chicken, tikka masala and naan bread. The service was average our food took 30mins to arrive however it did say on the menu food will take 25mins to arrive...but the wait was worth it! Our meal was so yummy and we couldn’t stop eating (flavours were soo good)! Really good quality food and decent serving. For all the dishes we ordered and there was two of us we paid a total of $52 which wasn’t too bad as we had some left overs too! Would have given a high rating if it didn’t take too long. I would go back and try their buffet next time!
good place to dine for indian food. foods are great, slightly pricey but its all good, place is well maintained. keep it up guys. friendly service
They have got good variety of food and well prepared naan. Buffet is really good but need to have services available upstairs as well. Its a bit inconvenient to rush downstairs to pick anything.
The service is really fast, staff is nice and at lunch time is pretty cheap. The food is a bit oily but still, is the best curry I've tried in Auckland.
Great food and big portions. Really enjoyed the Biryani and Korma. It's pretty cheap for the quality of the food. Would definitely recommend checking it out.
I was on a short trip in AKL. Friend of mine took me to this place. Really nice experience. We had to queue for a table on a Monday and that’s normal my friend said. Amazing food and ambiance. Whenever I visit AKL again will make sure to go back.. BTW the locals told me that the owner feeds many homeless people everyday .
You are walking around in Sandringham, and suddenly you are welcomed with a intense heavenly indian spices fragrance, congratulations you have arrived at Paradise.. ;).
Paradise is a favourite dining place specially during weekends as you find it difficult to get table bookings.
However, The food is not that out of the special kind and is average. Rates are not that high as well.
I have been here myself a couple of times, generally for lunch and it’s always tummy full with satisfaction kinda experience.
Take aways biryani are not that good though.
So next time you come around weekends, do call before, get ur table booked before you come hooping.
Cheers!
I like dine in the most !! There bhuna lamb n Indian butter chicken are the best. Bestest cheese naan in entire Auckland!! Owner n staff members are very approachable n good to talk. They always carry s good smile on their face.
Absolutely love Paradise Indian Cuisine! The food there is very unique from other restaurants I've been too! I love the theme of Hyderabadi flavours in Paradise's menu. I have been coming to this restaurant at least once every week with my family for the past year, and the food is always amazing! Defiantly 10/10!! I especially love the staff, they are so friendly, well- mannered and professional with assisting customers! Spoke with the Owner Saleh & thanked him for the great job he has done with his Indian cuisine and business. I had dinner at Paradise on my birthday, and the food was soo tasty! I even got surprised with complimentary desserts from the Owner. The food is very time efficient too, within 10-15mins I get my order all ready for me at the table 😊 Thanks Paradise! You guys are the best. I have become one of your dedicated customers, consider it VIP hehe
We went with the buffet option. I read a number of mixed reviews before we went so was a bit dubious. Can safely say we were not let down. The chicken lollipops were amazing, genuinely delicious!
All the curry options were tasty and the naan was probably one of the best naans around Auckland. Service was perfectly fine, you have to pay before you sit but that isn’t necessarily a bad things given the volume of customers they deal with and the fact it means you leave as soon as you’re done. For $20 per head, I would highly recommend this place. They won’t let you down.
When I came to new Zealand first I thought maybe iam gonna miss my favourite Hyderabadi biryani but here not. When my friends told me about this place I totally exited for this one
When went there on buffet it’s like$20 for unlimited when I went on dine it’s totally surprised
Cause of lots of items here
When I tasted everything it’s totally equal taste to Hyderabad not to change in single percent
There more lot about this place is biryani I exactly tasted as Hyderabadi biryani I tasted chicken lollipops and naan bread with butter chicken and desert and some salads everything here quite same to our taste but butter chicken quite similar to kiwi style like sweet don’t complain on that service was good ambience was good
Finally
Food :4.5/5
Service:4/5

It's amazing how Paradise is maintaining the food quality all along the years...I've been here in NZ for more than 4 years and I've been going there since then...I've loved every single day over there...it gets crazy in the weekend but I guess it still worthy enough to wait for the food over there 😇 😇 😇
We rarely eat Indian food, however, Paradise is an exemption. Their Chicken Biryani was the bomb and also their Butter Chicken. Plus, very affordable as well! :)
Best in Town for Indian cuisine, always good on Quality and Quantity on a reasonable price tag. Will recommend the Biriyani and Chicken Fry.
Paradise in Sandringham has 3 parts: the buffet restaurant, the dine in restaurant and a separate purely takeaways spot! All three places are busy, and you might have to wait a bit to get a table. The biryani is really tasty, but in general the food is takeaway standard.
Initially this place was ok in taste... interesting how the music was clubbing but it is patronised by Muslim aunties and uncles.... Then I went got hooked by the food MashAllah.... This is one of my favourite buffet places... I wish there are more dessert options BUT can’t complain with a selection of meat and vege dishes plus lollipop chicken and freshly made garlic nan from a tandoor oven... will visit when I get the chance InshAllah
Got takeout with a friend today for lunch.
Was my first time trying Paradise and they had a butter chicken and naan deal for $8. The butter chicken was creamy and there was lots of chicken. Naan and chicken pieces were huge. Would definitely go again to try their other food.
First time at Paradise and it was so busy. Heard good feedbacks about this resto. There's a dine in and takeaway area separately. So we ordered Chicken Biryani and Chicken Masala for take away and taste so good. Good serving for 2 at least for a reasonable price. It is understandable that you need to wait for a few minutes for the que. So I guess I should say it is one of the best Indian place in Auckland. So worth the wait and trip....👍👌
My friend and I came here for a spontaneous dinner. We ordered the chicken masala and saag paneer, both so DELICIOUS! And of course you cannot call it a meal without garlic naan and a mango lasi 🤤😍. Great staffing and service. Highly recommend.
I’m not really a fan of Indian cuisine but when I’ve tried their kebab, curries and their butter chicken I became addicted. Food’s flavour is not too strong and very well balanced. Price is very reasonable too. We’ll definitely go back to this..
One of very few Indian restaurants in Auckland that I trust to have an amazing experience every single time.
While I'm not an expert with Indian cuisine, I simply love everything on the menu.
Service is consistently great too.
You know they're doing something right when they have three busy restaurants open in the same block.
Checked out the $17 buffet this evening. Given other reviews both bad & good I thought I would check it out for myself with Kay Vea & a couple of other family members.
They weren’t overly packed this evening & we quickly were seated at a table. Previous complaints about there being a lack of space etc weren’t evident this evening.
The size of the plates or referred to by one review I read as “small bowls” were also found unjust. I understand why they opted for a rounded edge like plate, so the curry doesn’t leak out the sides.
There was a good array of curry dishes from meat curries to vegetarian options at the buffet. The Chicken Biriyani was delicious & not overly spicy. The highlight of the dishes though had to be the freshly made Naan bread & Chicken Lollipops. I can see why people were queuing up for both dishes.
Given the price I would highly recommend this place for those wanting an array of Indian dishes.
The 60min timeframe is more than enough time. The 1 plate is more than enough to get a range of dishes which even allows for you to get more if required to. The customer service was also good for the waiters to the cooks. The atmosphere of the venue was very clean & welcoming.
Only disappointing thing would be Parking. There is limited public parking available close by if not you will have to try your luck parking off street down the road.
Overall I will be definitely returning back to this place again & recommending it for others.
We heard it was the best Indian place in town. It certainly may be the biggest and the most popular.
. A lady at the door asked us if we were here for takeaway, dining in or buffet. Apparently there are separate entrances for each option.
. We chose to dine in. Buffets for me are a waste of money because I get full too quickly. Inside reminded me of an American diner. The place is clean, with waiters obsessed with cleaning as soon as a table is freed up or they see a spot on the floor. The walls are lined with Indian cricket memorabilia mainly, much like Burger King with its retro wall outfits. There were plenty of Indian families dining in, so we were assured we would be treated with an authentic experience. The naans are fluffy and the curry was good - good portions with plenty left over to take back home.
Love the price, food and environment. Recommend for others. Love the selection of foods. Love the fresh naan and the service of good. Love this place.
Been here a few times and never disappointed. Always busy but always managed to get a table (perfect timing I guess ), if you have to wait, it's well worth the wait. We had Korma Lamb, Butter Chicken, Chicken 65 and lollipop chicken, medium spiced and all was great.
One of the better Indian restaurants in Auckland. Authentic Indian dishes, great taste! Thinking about their butter chicken is actually making my mouth water right now.
The naan bread is delicious, just the right combination of flavours and texture. The butter chicken I ordered was vibrant in colour, smelled delicious, and full of flavour.
Server was super nice and helpful, great customer service.
Venue is very clean with great and modern decoration. Got takeaway for lunch - $8 butter chicken lunchbox. Super low price for a great meal!
Would definitely recommend this place to a friend.
Presentation: 4/5

Service: 5/5

This review is for both the takeaway and buffet. Regular customer of the takeaway. Although the ordering system is a bit inefficient and wait times long, the food is consistent on quality.
The buffet is great. Dont know why it gets all the hate from local Indians as it is affordable , set in a hygenic premises and you are provided with a excellent variety of quality dishes from all over India. Food is always piping hot and refilled constantly. It is a great place for cheat days from the gym.
Staff are attentive and helpful too.
We went to the buffet one last night for dinner, really good selection for food and the price for it is good for what you actually get. The garlic Naan bread are amazing, my favourite! Also loved the butter chicken and chicken lollipops! Sad that tandoori chicken wasn't included in the selection though.
Really great Indian food.
The curried were thick and creamy and the naan was fresh.
Highlight was the lollipop chicken which was perfectly spiced and tender.
Fast service and friendly.
Only complaint are tables are too close together.
One of best Indian restaurant in Auckland.
I came with my friends, was super busy.
Managed to get table after 40 min.the food quality & quantity is good.varieties of cuisines available. Yes 100% worth visit.
Very good food, semi auto-rickshaw, familish environment. Staff was nice, prices are average for indian cousine. Lacking of music. It have some TV screens with sports on them, which I found no really the ideal.
Beautiful curry and good value for money. We will definitely come back! One of the staff recommended us to try the buffet experience. Has anyone try it before? Any recommendations?
Finally came here after hearing all the great reviews on this place, I don't know why it took me so long to get here. The food was beautifully made! We ordered chicken biryani, butter chicken, special paradise lamb masala, chicken manchurian with rice and butter naan. To top of the experience, service was great, tables were cleared immediately after customers left and when food was brought over to the table the waiter was warm and made you feel welcomed. A young lady working here was also happy to assist my daughter who had trouble getting a few takeaway bowls for our leftover food. Hope to try the buffet on my next visit 😊
Have you tried mutton biryani here... Out of the world.. Must try!
Two options, either dine in or go for the buffet dinner.
Buffet has good spread and isn't very costly. In dine in, you can order as per your choice.
Generally crowded, be ready to wait in line to get in on weekends especially.
Staff is courteous and fast.
Excellent food, service, quality and quantity. Their biryani is simply heavenly. The customer service is really good and they don't hold back on quantity they serve.

Ticking off one of the places we always wanted to try ----- curry buffet! Only $17pp Mon-Wed, drinks are at extra charge. You only get 60min dining time. You will be given 1 plate when you pay and that's for all dishes, apart from naan which comes in a small basket. There are always 4 meat curries, 4 vege curries, 4 salads, biryani and dessert. My favorite is the lollipop chicken and the fresh made naan, so good~~ Curry were also very tasty~~
I had heard that this was the best Indian restaurant in Auckland and I think that it may just be. Had the Chicken Manchurian with Naan for lunch. It was a great, tasty and filling meal for two! Yum!

Im not a fan of indian food but if its from paradise be sure i will swallow it. Amazing melt in your mouth food! The chicken lollipops are to die for! The nanns are ahmazing! Love love love. The service sometimes can be slow but fair enough cos their always so damn busy. They need a few more locations!
We tried their outdoor catering service since we love their food. They lived up to their reputation. Excellent food with generous quantities. The service too(one man show) was very efficient and prompt. Will most definitely recommend.
Love the fish Tandoori never disappoints. Their curries are some of the best I've tasted in Auckland. This is now my go to for Indian food! Try the sheekh kebabs....
Good place for somewhat authentic Indian food. Menu is alright and the options are good. One of the very few places in Auckland where you get good chicken biriyani
Must tries are the biriyani, the chicken tandoori masala, chicken lollipop
Good taste and reasonably priced buffet. I go there sometimes to satisfy my tastebuds. Worth going for sure, both by yourself or with your friends.
I went paradise buffet on last week Monday. Food was tasty and the service was also nice... The little girl with the glasses (Sona or sova something like that) she was so helpfull and took care of me and my friends very well. Her service was amazing.. very friendly and she kept on smiling at everything... Good job girl!
I have heard people giving very good reviews about Paradise .I accept that the food is decent and it had amazing ambiance ,but I would strongly say that this is not worth the hype .This place is good in taste ,ambiance ,quality and money ,but we need to split the things into parts .As they have been wide spread into three branches .The buffet needs to be considered first ,the briyani served is not exactly the one that we have in dine in or Take away .The briyani is very nice to have ,but sometimes that are not consistent ,meaning we go with expectations and they do not serve things that worthy .I really love the chilly chicken served there which is a must try .Desserts are so very amazing .I feel that family pack briyani is not worth the money.
Great food, great price, great portions, great quality and most importantly great service. Note that this place does not serve alcohol, but there are lovely bars right next door to this yummy restaurant. Only negative is that parking can be abit of a hassle as this place is always pumping! Butter chicken is a personal fave but every dish I have tried is delicious! Xx
Best place to visit in Auckland for some good biryani n panner curries.
Worst is here naan which is more of bread rather then naan.
So next time ordered lachha paratha that quite well
The best indian food in Auckland. The curries are delicious. Every time iam in New Zealand i have to go and eat Paradise.
The service is okay.
Absolutely delicious! The butter chicken and chicken biriyani are both worth coming here for. Definitely will not be disappointed with this place!!
We placed an order on Diwali for 40 employees and each had a completely different order, Paradise made the whole process so easy for us, they labelled and named each individual order and really put 110% effort into the order. Its safe to say we had a very satisfied company and would happily order from them again! Fantastic service, food and professionalism!
Thought the food was beautiful, good value for money. There was so much did left after dinner, didn't feel full afterwards at all, prefect combination of spices. However, feels like a rush to get out of there as there's always a queue.
Paradise Indian Food lives up to its name... truly food and staff from Paradise! Salah helped me work out a perfect and generous snack box within a very tight budget for 75 senior citizens from our community called The Golden Age Club in Mount Roskill. The chicken lollipop, chicken afgan, lamb seekh kebab, chicken tikka and paneer tikka was simply the best - so tender and succulent - really the best we had tasted in a long time since back home in India. Our gorgeous and loving seniors loved the meal and wished we had ordered more boxes which they could have purchased for their grandchildren!
On behalf of the Golden Age Club Committee and all our Seniors, thank you to the superb chefs and cooks in the kitchen, to Salah and the very patient and kind front-facing staff who attend to enquiries. God bless you all, Sushila Pinto
Absolutely amazing food! I ALWAYS have to get the chicken Saag - one of the best I've ever had almost comparing to my mums! Also love their naans so tasty and fluffy. Live 30 mins away but will drive over all the time for takeaways. Try the buffet if you have the patience to wait in line food is the same so amazing and you can try all the different curries too!!
I have tried menu order and buffet here. They both are good and famous. It is always crowded. I like naan the most, so I can eat unlimited naan at a buffet. Monday to Wednesday are the cheapest days of week to eat a buffet.
One of the best Indian restaurant in Auckland! Tried both takeaway and dine in and they are both great value for money with amazing authentic food. Remember to go early and expect to wait for 15-30 mins for Friday lunch order because they are soo popular. They also have a cabinet of free food to help those in need which I think it’s great that they do that!
Visited here for the first time. You have to order and pre-pay at the counter.
Friends were always talking about how good Paradise's Vegetable Dum Biryani is, so I thought to give it a try. Turns out they were right! Loved the flavors. It looked appealing!
We also ordered Malai Kofta which was okay. The Naan and Roti were fresh and soft.
While ordering we asked for the Onion Salad, they said that they serve it free of cost and it will be sent to our table. But, it never came :)
They have a take away counter with containers and bags for the leftovers which you can use if you want to take the remaining food with you. Very thoughtful! :)
*Dine IN****Been here many times, as it is now trending as the best Indian restaurant in Auckland so far. Talking about the food, the best dish so far is Afgaani Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Kolhapuri Chicken. The flavors are as good as we get in India. I love to go there again and again.
I have eaten buffet once, had takeaway once and A la carte once all in a space of 3 weeks, best ever chicken biryani and tandoori chicken, paneer curry and naan breads to die for... the buffet has a good variety and the restaurants are modern and very clean, I travel from the north shore, that must mean great food..
I really liked the naan, which you could tell was very fresh. I did however order a mild dish and received what I believe was medium. And normally I don't mind hotter food, but for the dish I ordered I specifically only enjoy it mild. We did make quite a large order though, so I'm not surprised that a minor mistake like this happened. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and portion size for takeaway, and the prices are super reasonable. Because of the large range and cheap prices, I will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu.
Came to the buffet on sunday, we came early but the restaurant was already starting to fill up. A big range of indian food, the naan is delicious, its made fresh on order. Would recommend but we ate way too much that we felt sick afterwards :/
Excelent place! Exceeded all my expectations, staff was super nice and food was incredibly delicious. It definitely worth trying. It is good to go with someone knowledgeable about Indian food as it may be a bit difficult to mix and match successfully especially with new dishes you want to try.
Paradise has been in the top 10 cheap eats for number of years and I would say it is definetely true, if not top 3.
I myself is not a big fans of indian food (obviously before I tried Paradise), but this restaurant is amazing, we have been here (and take away) a numbers of times. Long wait in every visits were definetely worth it.
Paradise has the best chicken briyani I have ever tried in my life, and all the dishes are delicious too. Also, all the food are very affordable and the take away price probably one of the best in Auckland considering on what we got!
Thank you!!!
I've come here a few times to try different things on the menu incase the last thing I ordered just wasn't hitting my taste palate.
I still found I don't really like any of the main curries. It doesn't have enough flavour for me or maybe the right type of flavour? Too much of the same repetitive bland taste. But I feel it could just be my palate as the restaurant itself usually has a line of people waiting to be seated.
On a positive (++):
Their meal is relatively cheap. They also have multiple branches close to each other such as a buffet, and a takeaway only store.
The takeaway only store has a cabinet filled with free food for the needy!
And the naan bread tastes quite nice and fluffy, kinda like pizza dough.
Hands down the best Indian food in Auckland. Must try their garlic naan. I have not really try other Indian restaurant after discovered this place.

Authentic indian food which made me so nostalgic. Ordered a biryani and it tasted like the ones from the streets of Delhi. The proof is in the lines outside the door. Says it all!!
Amazing and authentic food. The naan was the best part and they make it fresh for you. There was a variety of curries and other dishes like fried rice and noodles. The curries are super rich and filling however they didn't have much spice to them and didn't provide any chilli. Most of my friends became full after only one plate. I loved the chicken curries and the fruit dessert. You only get an hour to eat so make the most out of it.
great food, great place, great Staff. abolve all nice gesture to have food for needy people for free...I had a chicken Biryani from here. the RAITA (curd) that goes with the biryani was awesome.all the best
Amazing Indian food. Try the curries get some naans and tandooris and your evening is just great. Taste is true to the spice levels. Hard to get in tho they are so popular. My average waiting time would be around 30 minutes. And there isnt really anything to do around Sandringham so I would advise on getting your details down asap when youre there and maybe sort out parking (which is also a headscratcher in weekends) while youre waiting for your table.
Beautiful authentic Indian food. You get given menus at the table but order and pre-pay at the counter, which I don't mind because you can do it exactly when you're ready instead of waiting for a waiter to come over.
I had the Indian butter chicken, mild and shared a garlic roti. I loved the flavours and the fact that it was so generous with the amount of chicken in the dish. The portions were so huge, I had enough leftover to fill up a takeaway container to the brim. Very thoughtful of the restaurant to have a table with takeaway containers and bags. Looking forward to getting takeaways from here!
AMAZING!! Very friendly and helpful staff! Catered well for dairy free and vegetarian! Was recommended to go here and will definitely be back!
Don't forget to grab a mango lassi on your way out because YUM!!!
Paradise is my go to for Indian curry! They have a great range of curries that are super delicious - Just be careful with the medium hotness as sometimes it can be too spicy for those of you who don't like spicy food. Stick to the mild and you're all good. The chicken capsicum masala and paneer dishes are my favourite! If you go, make sure to pick up a mango lassi too. Definitely one of my favourites.
Nice place with great ambience. We had dinner here and it was good experience. We ordered kadhi lamb it is cooked properly and taste alright, also we ordered paneer butter masala its creamy and spices are mixed well in gravy. We ordered butter naan which are very soft hard to find nasn like that much soft. Sitting is comfortable and place is spacious.
I wish I could give them 10/5. For a foodie coming from India, this place is heaven, actually more than heaven.
The food is tastier than even the best of restaurants back home in Delhi. The quantity is generous especially in case of 10 dollar curries. Absolutely smashing and value for money.
Above all, staff is always smiling and well behaved. Keep rocking guys!
This place is so popular, they now have multiple branches, one for dine in, one for takeaway and another for buffet. I have only ever frequented the takeaway one, and it doesn't disappoint. This time we ordered chicken manchurian, lamb Rogan Josh and chicken tandoori masala ($10 each) along with with 3 naans for $5. Chicken manchurian was my favourite in flavour though a bit oily. Lamb was pretty good, and chicken masala was a bit disappointing due to lack of flavour and it mostly just tasting sour. Naan here taste a little different than other places, maybe the ghee they add? It was a fantastic price and very friendly efficient service.
No point writing too much and all i will say that if you have their food specially the biriyani- you will feel like you are in paradise having heavenly food :D
Good taste, great service, very reasonable prices :)
Paradise had been my first best Indian restaurant in the past. But it's moved to the second place as their biriyani is not the best anymore. But these people beat their naan, chicken lollipop, paradise special, chicken65 and tandoori fish. They also have buffet which is worth it for it's price. For all the kiwis who haven't tasted the real Indian food please go here. Quick service, lunch specials, lovely people working there.
Great and affordable food. Specially Malai kofta- Must try. Tried Indian butter chicken as well. If paneer lover, then go for Balti panerr. So yummm!
Good food to try specially for Indians and who are missing home,
This is the place to be a home away from home for food...
friendly staff, and amazing taste of food items...
Good to go for spicy food and non-veg's you have lot of options available...
Try dum biryani with apple pudding...
Kudos Team Paradise :)
You can’t miss to not to visit here if in Auckland! Famous for havingthe Indian Cricketers and Others as their customers the walls are donned with autographed merchandises of the sport persons who ever dined there ! Be it Take-away, DineIn or the ever popular buffet they run ... the food is great ! Bang On ! 👍🏻
Just buff up a little on the ambience please .. I know you are Cricket enthusiasts but music will be much better ( just a suggestion)

If you want to eat good quality and consistent biryani then there is no place other than paradise. I am a big fan of their chicken and lamb biryani and almost buy it every fortnight. They recently started their buffet service which is well worth the money. though there aren't as many choices available but whatever is in the buffet menu does justice to what you are paying. they make fresh naan for you however you have to wait for it. the deserts in the buffet aren't worth trying. Their new takeaway place is huge compared to the previous outlet and yet is completely packed. Undoubtedly the biryani kings of Auckland.
My favourite Indian joint for takeaways. As for Dine in you have to wait outside as they don't take booking. Being The most favourite and popular restaurant in Auckland It needs to have few more branches Open up in south and west Auckland.
Ordered Mutton biryani family pack, Madras Chicken, Lamb Sheik Kebab And Chicken lollipop.
They all were flavour sum and tasty
lollipop my favourite brought back my memories of Uncles Kitchen Orlem Malad Mumbai.
Would always recommend Paradise to all as the food is Nice and tasty the pricing is not expensive and above all very hygienic 😊🤙
First time dining here. The restaurant is spacious and looks very welcoming. The food are cheap and come in good portions, I had their chicken 65 which was delicious but could be a bit spicier. I tried the chicken biryanis, not really my sort of food but it wasn't too bad.
Paradise has three branches - Dine-In, Take-Out, and Buffet. We recently tried takeaways for a lazy night in, SO GOOD. Paradise really does the best butter chicken in Auckland. Interested to try the Indian butter chicken next time! Also got the tikka masala, and garlic naan. Naan was delish, but masala was not near as good as the butter chicken. Will be back!
Every time I go there, I promise myself not to eat too much. But you just can't resist. Really great food. It's not a sitting and having a conversation place, as it's always busy. It's an eating place, so go there with big eater friends. :)
Its been a long time Reviewing the restaurants... however we happen to be at this reataurant, Paradise and was amazed to see three outlets for different kinds of services that they provide to the customers... one outlet strictly works on dine in, second one is only for takeaway and third one for buffet and all three outlets run fantastically well!! Wow!! We tried their dine in once which was a nice experience.. though the place is a bit noisy and crammed up.. the food was great!! Their tandoori chicken was fab! Ouw next visit was in Buffet.. they served two to three veg curries three nonveg curries... chicken lollypop in starters.. 6 different kinds of curd preparation, veg and chicken dum biryani, dal tadka, rice, even noodles... naan was served hot as an when required.. three to four sweets... all these for $20... no thts amazing!!! Everything on the menu was wuite tasty except dahi vada.. which was totally bland... The only issue we had was that we were given a table on the floor above and we had to walk all the way downstairs to get anything as the buffet was only on the ground floor.. also the place was too crowded hence It was a bit uncomfortable to dodge with the crowd and reaching safely on the table with food.. lol!! But we would not mind doing it again as long as they are serving such delicious delicacies next time we visit!! Kudos to the team!! Great experience overall!! Pratik Gandhi
We Always come here for a take-away and usually i just had the same thing so My taste buds got used to it.. but
Yesterday I came here on the dine in restaurant, All the food came out at the same time. Flavors were really good,. My new favorite is the dry prawns. I'll be back again, but this time I will do dine in.
Loved the food. Authentic Indian cuisine at a good price. Cricket decor which is a bonus for any cricket fan. BYO drinks which is reasonable. Alcohol not served on the premises. Very clean and tidy.
I been here for lunch. Before i say anything, One thing is very clear this is great place with reasonable pricing. We choosen three curries, two dry and one gravy one. Dry curries were just ok and chicken curry we asked for medium but was too spicy. However this time we didn't have good experience but generally they are good.
Experienced great food and wonderful service at the buffet on Monday night, I would recommend to all.the long wait times can be understood once you try. Amazing value for money only $17 each with free naan ☺️
Good food . However never take a cake there and ask them to bring it to ur table to surprise ur friend . They are really bad at it . They ruined the surprise big time . Other than that tho, everything else was good . They apologised for the mistake so I'm not giving them a really bad rating .
My go to place for Indian food in Auckland. They have a wide range of dishes that cater from more Western taste buds (eg butter chicken, mango chicken, etc) to more authentic Indian (eg kadai chicken).
Service is friendly and very efficient despite how busy or hectic the place can be.
I go often. Good food. Affordable. Good service. Everything tastes good. It's worth it. During lunchtime you can grab the lunch special for almost half the price.
Food always good. Very busy always so service can be a bit rushed. We opt to go for takeaway now from their other store. Always flavoursome, bigger size than other Indian restaurants and cheap. My partner always gets the biriyani and says it tastes exactly how her mum makes it.
Best Indian resto here ub Auckland. I had the Butter Chicken and it was just amazing. Was a bit hesistant on going because I'm not a fan of spicy foods but if you ask for the milder option, they will deliver. Def recommend this place.

I think I'm the last person in Auckland to discover this little gem in Sandringham .... Love love love Paradise and Paradise Street. The Manager and his team are delightful with amazing service!
Meanest feed I've had for good value. Narn breed made in front hot and delicious. Awesome service as always. Too full to stay awake now. The butterchicken was amazing and the deep friend veges were awesome
Great food and service. Fazal was the manager on duty and ensured that we were well looked after. Naan bread was very fresh. $17 buffet.. well worth it. Fully recommend this place!! Amazing atmosphere
Food and Flavour: 4/5
Ambience: 3.5/5

Value for Money: 3/5
The hara bhara kebab is amazing. The butter chicken and garlic naan was perfectly spiced and the portions were quite large too. Wish they didnt use so much colour in the food though. The biriyani portion was quite huge but the South Indian tastebuds was in search of the Masalas which my palate was used to. Quite different from the South Indian biriyanis.
10+ rating... great food excellent service, huge range of curries, nan bread made freshly, manager continually checking to see how we we're doing & enjoying the food - will defiantly be returning again & will recommend this place to all family & friends
Amazing food as always. The gravy had too much of colouring though. Great hospitality and ambience..........................................
Awesome!nice Indian food! I came here with my best friend who are a nice Muslim. We really enjoy this delicious meal! I think we will go to this restaurant again!
Value for money. Dishes were a tad bit spicy but flavoursome. Paradise starters and paradise special chicken with garlic naan was awesome. Will definetely visit again.
Great place for a Indian food in Auckland.
Extremely cheap and quality food. I love their chicken 65 which is probably the most authentic Hyderabadi chicken 65 in New Zealand. I have also tried the paradise dinner buffets and that is completely worth it. Make sure you get there early though. The Biryani and naan bread is mediocre. But their chef's special chicken is the best dish on the menu.
Currently lying on bed happy as. Ordered the mutton dum biryani, indian butter chicken, hara bhara chicken and 3 for $7 garlic naan. Rice doesn't come with the curries but we got biryani so opted out of buying extra. Total was $39 for two of us and we probably ate only half to two thirds of it all. Food was YUM so worth the after work traffic trip. Indian butter chicken had large pieces of tender meat with thick spicy hot sauce that is not sickly creamy, just right. Biryani was FFFlavourful mutton tender like lamb but other biryani we've had eg in Welli comes with more stuff in like nuts (but maybe that's a diff type obvs). Hara bhara chicken is out of it ufo glow green pieces of chicken never had it before but I like it has a kinda soft pea flavour that is a good contrast against the boisterous butter chicken. Perfect garlic butter naan light fluffy big and a lil charred just right. Wait is 25 mins so we strolled around and checked out other places to put on our to eat list. Friendly staff. Can't even hate on a place that has a mini fridge stocked for people who are in need of a free feed. I would put it closer to the entrance maybe so people don't have to walk in front of a huge bunch of patrons to get a free feed. Def going back again thanks Paradise! ^_^
Excellent food! Naan bread is fantastic and interesting to watch it being made through the window by the entrance. I notice lots of the reviews make comments about the butter chicken being average. The generic butter chicken, familiar to all of us with its creamy sauce only comes in mild. I asked for medium but for medium or more spicy you have to get the "Indian Butter Chicken." This is still delicious although not cream based.
Pretty much everything is great here. Excellent service at a place that is generally packed. Worth the waiting time if you visit when it's busy.
Side note: ask for rice when you order takeaway as apparently mains don't come with rice anymore. I ordered some dishes, didn't ask for rice (but also wasn't asked whether we wanted rice) and we had no rice. Sad times.
Love Paradise over all.
Awesome buffet if you're a fan of Indian and buffets and exceptional value. If I had to complain, it would be that the curries could do with more veggies in it (sorry meat lovers won't agree with me!) as it felt a bit too meat/carb heavy, the vegetarian dishes were mostly potatoes and dahls etc. And I don't know why food colouring is used so heavily as I tend to avoid those with colouring which is a shame as I'm sure they are delicious too!
I probably wouldn't go for the buffet again for a while as I went more for the exciting experience that it was. I prefer the convenience of takeaway and the fact you can order whatever you like. And then save the takeaways leftovers for the next meal if you buy lots :)
Love the naan - my toddler can't get enough of it!
Excellent customer service at paradise buffet. The manager, Fazal, has amazing customer dealing and is always welcoming and the rest of the staff is also very friendly . It's always a delight to get the top quality food here. Me and my friend always come here for the best food in the city. Highly recommend it !!!
Love the dine-in qaulity of the food.
Take-away is good as well but not as great as the dine-in though.
The buffet is not of the same quality, although for $15/$20 (depending on which day of the week) you get more variety to choose from at a good price. The chicken lollipop is a buffet favorite.
All in all, one of the better if not the best indian places out there for every buck you spend.
Excellent food and customer service at the Paradise Buffet. The staff and the Manager were very courteous and welcoming. The Manager organised a not-on-menu Veg Biryani to cater for vegetarians within no time. Great experience overall.
Needed to find a new Takeaway option for Indian food... Sandringham seemed the obvious place to start so we came here. Great takeaway layout shop... still appealed more to place and order of what we wanted to try rather than the "pre made option selection". We ordered butter chicken, lamb chops (only entree dish) , tikka masala chicken, lollipop chicken, fish malai curry and garlic naan. But oops had no lamb chops so we chose afgani kebab. Apart from the butter chicken everything else was really nice and next time we will go and eat in at their restaurant to try it.
Definitely deserves the praise. Best Indian food. Loved the chicken lollipops. Huge portions. We had about twice as much food as we could eat. Will definitely be back.
Here's the thing about Paradise; it is a regular North Indian restaurant with decent food and portions. But what sets them over and above the mark and has people from all corners of the city queuing up outside all hours of the day is that even at their busiest, their customer service is always on point.
Unlike most Indian restaurants I've been to where their service is only good so long as they're still trying to build a customer base, Paradise doesn't hesitate to pull out all the stops within their capacity to make sure you walk away satisfied whether it's takeaway or dine in. No order is too small to be deserving of their great service.
I think this restaurant is alright.
Reasons are displayed below.
Buffet I rate this buffet 3/5
The buffet is not very healthy because they put too much soda powder. That kind of fills up your tummy. Too much butter in the naan.
Service I rate this service 2.5/5
The service is good in the buffet, dine in and takeaway. They are helpful but sometimes mean. For example one time I went to Paradise, they told us to eat fast because they were closing.
Dine In I rate this dine in 3.5/5
The quality of the food is mostly good and yum!!!
I recommend the dine in more than the buffet, because it doesn’t have so much soda powder and masala.
The dine in will be good for you if you go with more than 3 people.
In my opinion I say this restaurant ok. I would recommend this restaurant to you. I give this restaurant 4/5

Tasty food, great service by the friendly smiling staff, worth the drive all the way from Mission Bay. Well done to the management and the staff- Kumar B
Our favorite curry spot in Sandringham. Try their naan breads with harrabara chicken. Has a real good kick. Love the new takeaway shop that's opened. Good to see business booming!
Loved the food, the ambience, the service. Our favourite from the menu is the chicken platter which is served on a sizzler. One of the best restaurants in auckland, would love to go again and again.

you go there to eat Indian food, period. Dont expect anything too fancy (specially if you are not cricket fan) and you will not be disappointed. Try different things than usual and you will not regret it.
Staff is ok. But, seem to have too much to do and so grabbing their attention could be tricky sometimes.
This place makes amazing biryani as well as a lot of other dishes, the curries are so good and very tastey, i highly recommend it .I've been coming here for years.
Brilliant service from the Paradise Buffet !! Fazal (guess he's the manager) doing exceptionally well and taking care of customers !! Staff were very friendly except the girl at front counter (I know her name but don't want to write here) !! She needs to be more friendly and smiley !! Buffet have got so many varieties and they are charging only $20 #Amazeballs !! Keep up the good work !! See you soon !! Cheers
Paradise is not the only indian restaurant in Auckland. Well looking at their q's it seems it is. Well done to paradise on their expansion techniques. Food is good overall no matter what u order. But just hate the chaotic scenes going around all the time. Would love it to be a bit more systematic, i have seen the worst, at least it is getting better now.
This place has since indergome some renovations. I wasn't quiet able to find a different page for their takeout, dine-in and buffet restaurants.
Dine-in (4/5) - The curry was decent but even more was the lollipop chicken!!! So yum. Service pretty decent although when I went it was crowded.
Buffet (3/5) - When I wwnt it was $20 for buffet. Not sure if curry is a good idea for buffet. The curry range was a little limited but the buffet also included naan. The favourites for me (and the reason for this score) was that lollipop chicken was included in this.
Takeaway (4/5) - when I first came here before the renovations it was crazy crowded and cramp. This time it was spacious and they had a really good system to ensure customers wernt crampt together. This round I got the tabdori chicken which was not the dry version (in a good way) and the 3 naan for $5. Really enjoyed this time.
Fourth time to the buffet restaurant and twice in three days, including with overseas visitors. Great food, great range and the food gets better each time. Chicken Lollipop, Biryani, Noodles are masterpieces.
Fantastic Naan bread. Great to see the Tandoor Cook smiling and engaging with the Customer after the peptalk by Rafique. Rafique(the owner) was patience and understanding with my feedback and acted on it immediately
Must visit place for good wholesome, unlimited, true tasting Indian Food for great value. Cant beat that price
Cheers to great Food and fantabulous price
Although managed OK, it might be worth their while to invest some thought into reservations and table allocation. Do check with me for any assistance
The meat and Vegetarian food was separated which was good
Tasty food and good portion sizes. One of the best places to try Indian cuisine for sure. They have been consistently good which is rare. Off late consistency with biriyani is lacking as sometimes it comes with less flavor than usual but nothing too bad.
Overall a excellent place to eat good Indian food at competitive prices. Must try!
Best buffet in town for Indian food lovers. Totally worth it.
been there with my friends, It was quite busy place, but as always food was delicious specially butter chicken and chicken noodles. Staff was nice and friendly. I would return again and recommend others.
We waited in queue for 30 minutes to be seated. I suppose it was worth the wait!
The star of the buffet was the lollipop chicken. It was flavourful and fresh (coz they only lasted 3mins on the tray and they would all be gone). Among their rice varieties, the vege dum biryani stood out. Butter chicken was not too bad, but the buttery naan bread made it taste nicer. We had mango lassi for our drink. It was not cold enough and a bit too sweet for our taste.
A downside to our dining experience at Paradise was their lack of dessert selection. They only served fruit custard and pumpkin keen.
Staff service was not too bad. They were all friendly and knew how to pacify the waiting customers.
Would probably come back for another pig out sans our toddler so we could eat more.
Its been my go to Indian place for takeaways. Their starters are just too tempting to not buy and they taste good. Its one of those indian places where u get a lot for what for you pay. Chicken manchurian and hara bara chicken are my favorites. Biryani is also good but it might get a bit dry sometimes, the 20$ buffet option is also worth it. Would surely keep visiting this place
Pay Less & good services. Everyone when I want to eat Indian food. I must go there. Yesterday I went with my aunt and cousin and had lunch, because they came Auckland for traveling. No time limited, they don't care you order how much of the food. U can see many Chinese and kiwi eat in there. Weekday they have special lunch and also have buffet. 👍👍👍
Favourite Indian takeaway - good food, great selection, reasonable price. What more can you ask for?
Paradise just (14 April 2017) opened up their new takeaway shop just a few doors away from their old shop...Triple the size. And looks like they are renovating their old place to expand the dine-in restaurant.
Anytime of the day you go, there's always a queue. But they're really efficient..So don't let the long queues fool you. If you have not tried it..You should! :)
Amazing biryani - delicious and reasonably priced. We often buy family packs for takeaway. Also try their chicken 65, chilli chicken, chicken harabara, pepper chicken. Basically try anything and everything.
So many reviews on this page, I thought I would add some other hints & tips as well. All pics are labelled with the dishes name.
Popular local Indian restaurant which also has a (now) seperate takeaway further down the road.
You can't book so it pays to get there early although they do have a quite efficient system of leaving your name & number so they can call you when a table is free.
Once you are ready to order you do this at the counter & get your table number. Seems a bit impersonal but does work quite well & there's no mucking around with bills at the end.
There is no alcohol, but a good range of soft drinks & a mango lassi on offer.
There is also a buffet on some nights.
All our dishes were nice although the lamb chops didn't have a lot of meat on them. They weren't expensive though.
Service was helpful & efficient.
Any left overs you can easily take away.
Can understand why this spot is so popular.
Best indian food in the city... awesomest dum Biryani that i have ever tasted... also love the chicken 65... less desserts to choose from... good ambience... can improve their service and also lesser waiting time...
I used Paradise catering for my 50th party for around 75 guests. The 3 meat and 3 veg curries that I selected were absolutely divine. My guests raved about the food. The quantities were generous and the service and punctuality was impeccable. I would highly recommend Paradise catering to anyone looking for authentic, delicious Indian food for their next function . I would definitely use them again in the future.
The ultimate Indian restaurant, whether you need a quick takeaway, cheap buffet or a dine-in experience.. paradise has it all. The best Chicken / Lamb Dum Biryani is town.
Clearly this place has too many reviews so i'll keep my brief.
The food is great, full of flavor and at a very affordable price. We always used to stick to the same chicken 65, lollipop chicken and biryani but discovered the prawn malai. If you haven't tried this yet you are missing out. It's creamy, buttery and delicious with naan.
You can thank me later.
***** I went to the takeaway today and noticed they have a fridge full of free food for the needy. I love love love to see places giving back to those in need and feel so good to be able to buy from a place that not only serves amazing food with good portions, but also is a place of hope and food for those who need it ****
As always i will see you on a weekly basis Paradise, because any longer is too long.
The team of chefs always reach our hearts.. awesome food.. best place to hang out with frnzzzz.
God bless u dear chefs.. u really rock our stomachs.. lol.. buffet here is not to be missed..
Great food and a good price and the place is way clean. The naan bread was pretty good too. They caterer for large groups and the service over all was superb. I would recommend to all in Sandringham.
Went a few months ago for the $20 buffet around the corner from the main restaurant at night. Easily filled the stomach will unlimited biryani and lots of extras on the side.
Good Food . Had Chicken Biryani, Chicken Kebab and Manchurian. Nice clean restaurant and friendly service. Rice were cooked perfect as usual. Good to see that they are growing.
My family and I went to their buffet which is on Kitchner st, down the road from their menu store. Cheap curry buffet for $20! The Curries were very nice. It was hard to pick from all the beautiful curries they had. My fave was the Dahl Makhani, it was tasty and delicious. The nun bread was cooked freshly made on the spot. Only let down was that some were undercooked. But can't really complain it when it is really cheap! The place gets packed but can't make reservation as the dining time is only 60min for each table which is fair enough.
Had a little problem with getting a seat as we couldn't hold a table for 10 minutes as we were waiting for more of our family to arrive, however food was very filling and would love to go back with my family to have dinner there. Really loved the garlic naan with my butter chicken. The mango smoothie there was too liquidy and sweet during the day, I would enjoy the drink if the weather hadn't been too hot. Good thing we had cold water on our table.
▪️Ambience: 4/5▪️
The restaurant is tidy and clean, tables well spaced from each other and plenty of room. My sister and I had to repeat ourselves talking to each other because we were a tad drowned out by the music. It was actually lovely instrumentals, however, if the volume had been lowered a bit, I would've rated their ambience a 5.
▪️Customer Service: 4/5▪️
We were given second to none customer service. Everyone in the restaurant, from the manager, waiters and chef were absolutely hospitable. They're always ensuring their guests are well looked after. Could hardly fault them on anything.
▪️Food: 4/5▪️
Paradise curries are phenomenal. They cater for Western taste buds who cannot handle too much spice. Their AYCE naan breads are delicious and always made fresh by the chef.
▪️Drinks&Menu Options: 3/5▪️
They have a variety of curries and condiments and only two options of dessert. However, I doubt anyone would want dessert after eating a heavy meal of curries. ▪️Overall: 4/5▪️
In my opinion, this is the best Indian restaurant in Auckland and I am sure a lot of people will agree with me. Considering the quality and quantity of food, the price is very very reasonable. The ambience may not be that great but the taste definitely covers up for it. The food is absolutely amazing and if you haven't tried it yet, you really need to try it out soon. A few recommendations from me are: Chicken biryani, chicken tikka, harabhara chicken, chicken kadai and mango lassi!!
All you can eat Curry! How awesome can that be. Paradise has many branches in Sandringham. Can be quite confusing, one only does buffet, one does takeaway and one does ala carte. Range of food is good. You get different kind of curry - butter chicken, masala etc. Taste is average. but the naan is good! Its freshly made & cooked right in front of ur eyes. Expect long queues in the evening, and for the naan. But the experience is worth the wait.
Hands down the best Indian food in Auckland. We have eaten from here frequently over the last couple years. Every single dish has always been perfect. The biryani of course is the major attraction at this place, and for good reason. It's perfect every single time. The family pack can really go a long way. It's great value for money. All the curries have a great flavour and the tandoori naan is always soft and delicious. The Afghani chicken and the lamb pasinday is something we always order.
The only trouble with this place is that it's too popular! Wait times are quite long due to the crowd. We usually get take away for this reason. It's great that they have a take away section which is separate from the restaurant. Either way, the food is the same and tastes amazing.
Great food. Friendly staff. Neat and clean. Loved it. Lot of variety to choose from even in the vegetarian section.
Happy to recommend to family n friends good value for money
Amazing authentic Indian food. I've been there several times with friends and family and the food has always been delicious. I don't usually eat Indian food when I go out (nothing compares to mums cooking after all)- but for this I will make an exception!
Awesome venue. Easily catered for our group of 30. Excellent service. 1st class food. And very accomodating with our big group. Will be back again soon!!
Great food and a reasonable price. Very friendly staff who were very accommodating and let us stay over the hour time allocation as we were here for a birthday. Definitely recommend
My mom and I were visiting Auckland from the US and quickly realized this would be a great place for authentic Indian food. Our cab driver recommended the buffet at Paradise and WOW! So many amazing flavors, perfect spice and you can eat until you need to be rolled out of the restaurant. Fazal gave us great service and we'd come back without question if our flight out wasn't the next day.
I usually end up going to the buffet because I can try different things with the same price I would find at the restaurant.
The staff are friendly.
Sad thing when customers go left right and centre when they could not serve biyarani on time st the buffet.
There is a good variety of meat and vegetarian. Not a lot of desserts but hey it's 16 dollars 💵 shouldn't be whining lol.
Attention: if you are going to the restaurant can you please be nice to the staff. They do try their best.
Thank you !
So on 24/02/2017 we had the Wika lunch off Paradise Chicken Dum Biryannee @ $35 and Bawarchii Chicken Dum Birryannee @ $40. Paradise had better texture in the rice and once eaten with the masala coated meat (of which there was plenty) the Birryanee shone to a level above that of Bwarchii. It was moist and flavorsome and lovely to eat. The Bawarchii offering although packed with beautiful flavor, was smaller, the rice was chewy and the offering lacked lightness and moisture.
Last weekend I had a 30th birthday party of about 20 people at the buffet section. I had never been there before and will definitely be back again. Was a great experience to see naan bread being baked in special oven before my eyes..the food variety suited all from halal to vegetarian.. my favourite was lollipop chicken. Great service by all staff including the manager faizel who helped bring out and serve the cake.overall a brilliant experience.. wishing paradise owner every success. :-)
Food was tasty; great u can order in the counter and be seated beforehand; serving sizes were bigger than expected; great value for money. Parking is an issue though. I felt that some wait staff were just lurking around,as opposed to this one guy so busy handing out dishes.
Beautiful food , great quality , service is great it was my first time at this resturant and the food was exceptional staff where awesome I would definitely recommend eating at paradise restaurant
Very, very, very yummy food.
We came here because it was the Indian restaurant with the highest rating on Zomato. Our expectations were obviously high, and we were surely not disappointed.
We were slightly confused at first because the restaurant was huge - there was a takeaway section, a buffet section, and a dine in section. The drinks were help-yourselves, and the ordering was done at the front desk where you also pay first. Everything was different from our previous experiences at Indian restaurants.
The dine in area was cosy, not fancy or anything. We were surprised at just how absolutely packed it was on a Monday night - it was obviously good! I did quite like the clear window where you could see in the tiny kitchen where the chef was preparing food :)
The mango lassi was very refreshing, not too sweet nor too salty. Husband and I ordered a curry each which came with rice. We also ordered a naan bread to share. My butter paneer was absolutely heavenly. It had lots of big pieces of homemade cottage cheese, the curry was creamy and rich and spicy, definitely the most authentic tomato butter gravy I've had in New Zealand. Husband really enjoyed his Chicken Korma which was perfectly mild and actually tasted of cashew cream :) I could not recall anything special about the naan other than that it was soft, probably because the curry was too good which overshadowed it :p
Besides excellent curries, another selling point of this place is that though the prices were about the same as you would pay at other places, the portion sizes were MASSIVE - for once I could not finish my meal, neither could my husband, so we had to ask for takeaway boxes. One would definitely get value for its money. Although the $20 all you could eat sounded like a great deal, realistically we could not eat that much food, just ordering mains was more than enough. Would only recommend it if you are keen to try a variety of curries. In the future, we would probably just order one curry, one entree, and a naan to share; or we would come for takeaways to enjoy the food at home.
Absolutely recommend this place. Can't book so just rock up. I went on a Tuesday so it was $15 which is extremely cheap for buffet. I had the chicken bites and butter chicken. For dessert I had the stewed fruit with custard which is sweet but delicious. They have good customer service as well
Amazing Biryani!I had heard a lot by indian people that "Paradise is Paradise" no comparison..and I used to wonder why? Becoz I had tried only once at a Family Dinner their Takeaway. After reading reviews and all I decided to try their Speciality - "Chicken Dum Biryani" which turned out to be absolutely Delicious.I love Biryani the Calcutta/Kolkata style with that Dum masala flavor and Paradise surely stood out to my expectation.
Service:4/5 Excellent!
I ordered and within 5 minutes my Order was packed and by the way was Hot too.
Staff:Friendly&Prompt.
Ambience&Pricing:4/5 Very Reasonable
Why I liked the overall experience was their QUANTITY was amazing. I bought the Regular Box which came for 10$ with a Raita&Tamarind-Coconut chutney.
It is sufficient for 2 People.
I saw they do the Family Packs(Large Tub style Box) as well which is a great option to takeaway for Parties&House gatherings.
I recommend them that they should surely open a branch in CBD for sure!
My Indian friend once took me here for the first time and I was blown away by my experience.
Very high quality stuff, little bit more on the pricey end compared to other Indian restaurants but it is definitely worth the price. You know the place is legit and serves to the local because there we're a lot of dishes I've never seen on other restaurants menus.
Ate heaps for cheap and it taste gangster af. Thanks again paradise! Came here super hungry and my girlfriend was making heaps of anoying comment like... 'I'm hungry' 'feed me' so I took her to paradise... what more can I say. She ate vegetarian and the paneer blew my mind. Next time I go here I'll make sure I am starving so I can eat way more. So cheap I'll never need to cook curry again. And my girlfriend won't know that I'll go back by myself hahaha.
This place has been a good place for authentic Indian food for a while. Good dine in experience and good cost. Had a decent dinner for 4 cost only $59. The taste has been a bit inconsistent for the past few years. However the recent insurgence of the likes of Bawarchi has kept them honest. Overall it's the Indian place to dine in. Personally I don't rate the takeaway.
Hands down, the best Indian restaurant ! Great service, taste and friendly staff also 5 star ambience . Thanks to the manager he is very welcoming.
In my opinion, "the best buffet in Auckland"
This place lives up to it's expectations. Have been here so many times in the last 3 months.Perfect quality and great variety of exotic foods & an insane selection of desserts, we came out of the restaurant with all smiles. All the food ingredients were fresh and the staff is friendly. It is well worth the money. I would visit again.SUPER IMPRESSED !!!!!
Service is good. The seating space is quite limited and very tight! Hard to bring kids along. Food is quite good but I cant help but feel the food has a repetitive taste to it rather than different flavours e.g. the curries/main dishes all have similar taste whether you order chicken or lamb or vegetarian options. I quite liked the chilli chicken available as takeaway (its dry and quite spicy but great as a quick mess free meal). Nice to go there occasionally and cheap prices
we are very frequent customers of Paradise whether it is takeaway or dine-in or buffet dinner
the quality and taste of food is so consistent and the level of service is improving day by day.The staff is very friendly and charming.
Amazing food and great service. Very friendly team. Would definitely go back 😀. Highly recommended. A+++. Very good service. . .
We enjoyed our food with lots of options to choose. Naan is freshly baked and served as cooked. Staff are nice and very polite.
Love the way the manager handled conflict.. very nice and approachable.. we'll be back soon with our friends.😊😊😊😊
Loved the food...service...staff... all are up to the mark
Whenever I visit this place for food I always gets the marvellous experience
U guys are beyond amazing
Good food , bitter / sweet staff , upfront staff was really nice then server was a bit rude but they made it rite in the end. Over all good place for authentic Indian food. Thumbs up !!
We decided to go for an Indian meal and our mates spoke very highly of this place. Apparently there are no reservations and if you want to eat here, you have to be prepared to wait. Wait we did and for 45 minutes.
As a foodie, I know one important thing. If you have to wait to eat it's going to be good!
We ordered butter chicken, Paneer Balti, Garlic Naan, afghan chicken and a chicken biryani... chicken overdose obviously!
I loved the garlic naan! Chicken was tender and that means well cooked across all the dishes.
The butter chicken was Chicken tikka masala spiced up! It did remind me of my years in London but nevertheless, the fair was good!
The Biryani was okay! It was nice but I have had better Biryani starting with my own home!
But hey! We are in New Zealand and this place is good no doubt so I would always vouch for this place.
I will come again and try the lamb biryani... that's what separates the men from the boys!!
Until next time ... :)
I haven't had indian anywhere else since I had my first paradise experience. I am a regular here and I enjoy it everytime! Everyone I bring here enjoys it just as much.
I've tried a few dishes but my absolute favourite here is mild Korma Chicken - always so good! As well as chicken lollipops which is good on the side. Garlic naan is always fresh and very tasty.
Friendly customer service, always clean, a comfortable environment to be in
Wait time is fine when your not starving.
The only negative thing I can think of is that they are not generous with their serviettes. Everytime I go, literally only 1 per person which is not nearly enough. Other than that, it is an excellent restaurant.
Excellent food and service. What a delight! I loved the paradise special curry and naan. The only disappointment was the absence of the double ka meetha which I had ordered over the phone, and when I went to collect the food, they said they have run out of that sweetdish. We chose the carrot halwa instead, and it turned out to be much tastier than expected. The food was rich in quality and quantity. I am definitely going back here . Cant wait to try the buffet ...
We had a group of 16 for lunch. Although paradise doesn't take any bookings, they accommodated us with a special banquet menu. We pre-ordered. 1 veg starter, 1 non-veg starter, 2 non-veg Mains, 2 veg Mains, Naan and rice costed us $20 per head. Service was quick. Food was great. Worth the drive all the way from CBD for a team lunch. This is the third team lunch we had this year.
Went to the buffet on kitchener st as a work dinner. Atmosphere was nice and quiet but don't let that fool you. The place gets packed within 10 minutes. This causes wait staff to keep looking at your table in an effort to make you eat hastily so they can serve other customers. If you can ignore them catwalking past your table every 2 minutes then you will have a good time. The best part about the buffet is watching the chef make fresh naan bread upon request. The location is neat and tidy and the food looks fantastic. The only issue is having to walk up a flight of stairs with a full plate as most seating is on the second level with the buffet on the ground. Food was great and definately worth the money, especially if you have a big appetite. As someone who dosent eat indian much, I would definately come back for another visit.
I went there with my new bride after a month of our marriage and we both loved it.
Only the service is a bit slow but everything else is great!!!
स्वादिष्ट भारतीय भोजन !!!
Prominent amongst Aucklanders, Paradise is an established locus of Auckland's growing multicultural society. Fabled to be the only Indian Restaurant frequented by The Men In Blue, I was intrigued and excited at my dining adventure at Paradise.
Coming on a Saturday night, it was of little surprise to find that Paradise was fully booked and to dine in their would be a 20-30 minute wait. Not to be beaten down by the news, it was awesome to see that Paradise has a takeaway kitchen right next to the main restaurant. A smorgasbord of curries, fried foods and carb options, the takeaway Paradise was just as busy.
We ordered a lollipop chicken, classic butter chicken, chicken biryani, cheese naans and some lamb ribs.
Surprisingly efficient, the restaurant managed to stock us with aromatic goodies in under 10 minutes and we were on our way.
Group favourite was definitely the Lollipop Chicken. Tender with a faint sweetness, whilst having a crunchy exterior made for some finger licking good dish.
Many Indian colleagues have urged me to try the chicken biryani and my experience was pleasant without being astounded. The strong chicken flavour was prevalent within the rice but I found the chicken to be rather dry.
Seasoned to perfection, the lamb ribs were a mouthful of flavour and I would recommend this dish to anyone wanting something a little different.
Alas, all was not paradise though as the Butter Chicken was disgustingly disappointing. More watery than your Food Court Indian, the butter chicken's soupy sauce was bland and tasteless. Would not recommend to anyone and I sincerely hope that is an isolated incident.
However to Paradise's credit, they have the best Naan Bread I've had in Auckland. The naan bread here is infused with the right seasoning and a distinct smokey flavour I've yet to experience at any other Indian providers. An interior that is fluffy and soft while still maintaining a crisp skin, it is Indian Pastry at its finest.
Priced for the 99%, Paradise provides a wide selection of authentic and fusion creations that will satisfy all tastebuds and tummies.
Showstopper: Naan Bread and Lollipop Chicken.
Overall Grade: B+ ( Curry definitely costs Paradise some major points )
If you love curry this is the place to enjoy. I haven't been anywhere better than this restaurant. Highly recommend & I'd love to go back again.
Went there for takeaway time to time, pretty good service. Food are not too bad, decent price too. Love their Nan breads, although some dish are pretty spicy can give you a pretty bad heart burn the next day :D
Finally went to try paradise after hearing so much about it. The place looked fantastic - it reminded me of a Denny's / American fast food restaurant type of setting.
The food was decent and the portions very generous, but I don't think it deserves the hype around it unfortunately. I wouldn't hesitate to go back there if I'm looking for Indian food but it doesn't make my cut as the best Indian restaurant in auckland just yet.
Dishes I tried:
Butter chicken - had mild, and the spice level was good. I don't think they've nailed the sweetnesss level just yet - It needed a bit more.
Chicken sagwaala - ok. Decent.
Pappadoms - super yum. 1 portion comes with 3!
Mango lassi - not bad. A bit too thick for my liking, but some might like it that way.
5 of us went here last night. After the initial surprise it was neither BYO or licenced, we settled ready for what looked great food. You order at the counter and can prepay or pay after dining. We had Paneer 65, entree of lamb chops, chicken tikka, lamb khadi, chicken birianyi and 3 garlic naan. This cost $80 total which was extremely good value as each dish was HUGE.
The quality of the food was fantastic - I think easy to say the best Indian in AKL. We left with doggy bags and feeling very satisfied. The staff are so friendly. The crowds waiting for a table and takeaways shout volumes. Go you won't be disappointed.
Love the delicious food - rich, warming curries, fresh, spiced pakora. The service is average but quick, the atmosphere vibrant and bustling - Not the best spot for a romantic night out, but perfect for a meal that won't burn a hole in your pocket.
Paradise buffet. Was very good and good service. The food was really nice and there was lots of variety. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
Excellent Buffet and service. Seriously good. Paradise. Naan delicious. Fruit dessert a delicious addition. Handsome waiter. Worth a visit. Will be our regular from now on.
Paradise buffet is great! Delicious fresh food and attentive polite service. good value for money. the same authentic Indian cuisine as the Sandringham Rd branch but as much as you like to eat. Recommended!
@ParadiseBuffet one word AMAZING , great service and even better food. awesome service and great atmosphere! Very comfortable ! Reccomend it for all families! Food is delicious and alot to choose from. Will definetly be visiting here for xmas!!!
Paradise buffet
27 varieties.
Paradise buffet is amazing. The food is awesome. The service of the team is even better.
Highly recommended to come here every weekend.
We had our birthday party here. About 20 people and the food and the service amazed us.
Keep it up!!!
First time having a Paradise Take away. Lived up to the good reports we had heard about the curries. Only negative i found the roti to be a little to thick. We will be back
Paradise buffet best place for all you can eat. Food is brilliant! Definitely give it a try :) the service is excellent, and it's only 3 hours for 3 days which explains why they are good! I came here three times already and it won't be my last time.
@paradisebuffet we came in in a group of 12 and we got to be seated straight away. I was so happy with the service we received and the food was absolutely delicious !!! Will be coming back here again coz of great company and great food. Thanks Paradise
This review is for paradise buffet! This is one of my favourite Indian places in Auckland. Been there couple times and the team are always very welcoming.
Food - the food menu is spectacular and everything is always fresh. From butter chicken to fruit salads you are sure to find what you want on this buffet. An awesome value for money as well. Naan breads are super fresh made right in front of you. Generally in an Indian restaurant you end up spending $120 plus for 4 but there it's $80 and the food is one of the if not the best in Auckland. 8/10
Service - Now this is the most fantastic thing here. First two times we went there at 9.50 which is 10 minutes before closing but the team was so welcoming and gave us places and fazal held the food for us without any rush! I can't seem to remember service like this anywhere else. These guys are so busy and yet they never forget to top up the water bottle on your desk and ask you if everything is fine. 10/10 thanks fazal and team for always making an awesome experience for yourself.
Paradise buffet restaurant has the nicest food and customer service !!! Highly recommend everyone to come here, its a wonderful place, you must come here !
Loved the food, ambience ,music,service..a great experience all together specially @ $20 price worth..enjoyed a loot with family and friends ..cheers
Great service n food. Chicken lollipop was the best...Fantastic selection of vegetarian dishes as well, dhalmakhni was the best...Will recommend Paradise to our friends.
Thanks for excent food and service :-)
Good to experience different cultures. We will visit again! Fantastic buffet, great variety and vegetarian section.

Amazing food awesome atmosphere. All you can eat for just $20!? I ate so much I didn't use any cutlery, was lots of fun!
The chicken and naan was outstanding!
If the mango lassi was free it will be an easy 5/5!
Having tried a number of Indian restaurants now in Auckland, this would not be my first choice. But then the it is reasonably priced as compared to other good Indian restaurants and the takeaway prices are super low. ✌🏼️
Had my birthday dinner here last night with my parents and it completed my night perfectly. Super busy and had to wait at least twenty minutes for a table but well worth it. The staff were all super friendly and sweet. Food was delicious and quantity was very good for the price. Ordered lollypop chicken as an entree and my dad loved it (I'm vegetarian). Paneer kadai, prawn malai curry, plain naan, rice and drinks - more than enough. The place was nice and cosy. Definitely a new favourite for Indian cuisine!
We order food for a work event and the team at Paradise were very helpful in working a deal for us. We order over 60 lunch deals which were very delicious.
Excellent food every time. I do wish they'd start taking bookings though. I have had to wait up to an hour for a table at times. But always worth it!
Dined here last night with a friend. Was very busy and lucky to get a table. The waiters were amazing and definitely lived up to the 'service with a smile' motto. We went up to the counter and ordered onion pakora, saag paneer, Indian butter chicken, two garlic naan breads and two mango lassis. Too much food, word to the wise share everything! The lassis were perfect, couldn't fault them! The onion pakora was a huge plate of yummy deep fried onion pieces. We could barely get through half of it. The mains were the same story, huge and served with rice. The Indian butter chicken was like a suped up butter chicken, the flavours were perfect. My friends saag paneer was very tasty and perfectly cooked. The naan was a small let down as the garlic has been overcooked and even through they are made on site, tasted store bought. If I am in the mood for Indian, this will be my first port of call!
Went around the corner to the new Paradise Buffet.
for $20 pp. Are you kidding me. fab value and food.
Biryani was fantastic. While not a huge number of buffet dishes a packed house and I didn't hear one complaint. This is great value and for the price superb food.
10/10
Good food and amazing service. I always order lunch from here for work and it is a thumbs up everytime. They have good budget menu for catering.
At my workplace we always order Paradise takeaways for team lunches and are very satisfied with the service. The staff is very nice and the portions are big.
We went for buffet. It was more than what I expected. Hot food serving quick. The buffet menu was organized really well. Loved the chicken lollipop. I would recommend this to my friends.
Excellent option in Sandringham. We ordered Indian Butter Chicken and Paradise Special Lamb Masala. Very good taste. We had to wait outside because it was full.
The Food is great!!!
I am not a big fan of Noodles but when tried here, started liking it!
Awesome customer service. Keep doing the same! Cheers
Ordered a bulk order for an Indian Children's homes Fundraising lunch of chicken biryani, butter chicken, curry(Mugali) chicken , rice and yoghurt. AWESOME! Great taste and generous helpings with plenty of substance and meat. Staff very pleasant, obliging and helpful. Highly recommended. M Money / Grace Church Auckland
Paradise Buffet restaurant Sandringham Auckland ...
Dinner last night was delicious ... An array of food from Chicken to vegetarian as well as freshly made Naan bread straight out of the tandoor
Great service for my party of 26 people
Thank you for the fantastic experience
Mel
Went there just in time to open. Food looked tasty. Got a lunch pack for 8 dollars. Chicken rice and Naan. Dan cheap. Food was tasty and filling. Will return
Came here for dinner. It's got a great interior with helpful staff. I ordered the lollipop chicken and chicken tikka with naan. The lollipop chicken was tender and had a tasty sauce. The tikka was more savoury than other places, but was a nice change. The rice had a nice fragrance, and the portion size was bigger than other places. The butter chicken was savoury which i would rather be a bit more sweeter. A solid four overall.
Fazal and his staff were very friendly, accomodating and made our time at paradise very enjoyable. Top service and buffet food was delicious! Thank you to fazal and his amazing team! Would recommend to all
Very happy 2 eat here excellent customer service especially the buffet dinner is amazing management is great food is excellent I never go to eat any other restaurant their dine in and take away is mind blowing
Just done my 21st at Paradise it was the best, the Food was good the setup was good the service was great I would really recommend this place to anyone having a party or even just a casual dinner everything couldn't have been done without the help of Fazal . Thanks again 😁😁
The food here is authentic South Indian Cusine. At the moment its the best in Auckland City. Have tasted all the dishes here and they are simply superb. Each dish is different and the taste is so truly Indian. Hope they keep up all the good work in keep this fantastic eatery on Sandringham road just the way it is.
Great Taste. Great service. Good quality . Very clean and overall 5 stars for satisfaction!!
Good value for money.
Thanks for all the good food
Angel and Samuel
Ate at the Buffet section last night...was really good and the lollipop chicken kept on coming! The service is amazing!! Great value for money
Amazing food, Excellent customer service.
Firstly to like thank the chefs for the amazing food.
Selection of food is amazing and the taste is waoh.. Everyone really enjoyed the food..
"Fazal" the customer service guy was really helpful it was 13 of us so a big team of us and he made sure we were comfortable in every way. he served us Naan on our table which was really sweet of him and he went out of his way and my husbands birthday cake look more beautiful before cutting it. thank you fazal and keep up the good work. also thanks to other guys aswell i cant recall his name.
Had buffet tonite....... Food was fresh and tasty and no doubt service was even better...... But the naan breads were very thick and had to wait for 20 minutes. Despite i asked for crispy naans i still got the thick ones...... Overall slap up food but the disreputable naans....far better than the other (bawarchi) indian place in sandringham......🤘🏼🤘🏼
My whole family loves the food of paradise. We often go there for dinner and the quality of food is always better than the last. There are variety of dishes on the menu and all the dishes are delicious and well cooked.
A Big THANK YOU to Paradise, Sandringham Auckland NZ for making the most delicious Chicken Biryani, Naans and Bagara Baingan (Egg plant curry) for my Dad's Memorial Service. Everyone enjoyed the food. The quantities were absolutely generous and the price charged was very reasonable and affordable for such delicacy..Food was delivered on time. Thank you for good customer service advising us with choices. Thank you Salah, the owner and the entire staff at Paradise.

I have been in Zomato for ages and this is the first time I am writing a review..
I have never seen an Indian restaurant get so crowded as Paradise with people queuing up even during off-peak hours and this one is not even in Auckland CBD or central. That shows how good their food is.
Best Vegetable Dum Biriryani you can get in Newzealand. Hands down....
Yummy Indian food! Service was quick and friendly. It was our first time there and we were welcomed warmly by the attendants. The food arrived promptly after we ordered, no alcohol but the soft drinks were very reasonably priced. The naan bread was delicious, heaps of meat pieces in the curry.
Good Location .Excellent food. Good Service. Staff were very friendly and helpful.Parking is real easy. Well done Salar! I was really impressed.
Definitely the best Indian Restaurant in Auckland! Been here many times and no fail...always excellent food and service! Not to mention it's near our place and price is good for its quality.Keep it up!

First time we went there on Sunday around 9PM and it was fully packed and they denied entry :(
Next time I went quite early, didn't wanted to get denied entry. Ordered Tandoori Fish , Balti Chicken and garlic naan.
The Tandoori fish was delicious. I couldn't remember when was the last time I had this good tandoori fish. The chicken curry and naan were also very good. We had to take away the food as the fish was really heavy even for 2 people.
Been there 2 more times and everytime the food is just yummm!!!
The place is bit small and over crowded but food is awesome!!
I never go out to indian restaurants in NZ due to their penchant for adding sugar to all their one dimensional curries. But Paradise is not that. I eat here all the time. And when I'm not eating here I'm thinking about eating here. Enough said.
Ps: Have the chicken lollipop. It will change your life.
ok a change in taste, turned Indian last weekend and decided to checked out Paradise after a workmate suggested this out Sandringham way,
This place is the Hub of Sandringham, if they go the village will be a ghost town, was originally gonna dine in and as it was a Saturday nite was packed out and got take outs instead and also packed and ordering was like been in line in a fast food burger place. Got the lamb chops and butter chicken and plain Naan. Chops marinated in yogurt, lime, herbs, pepper and oven bake and was Hot, very generous serving too and had to save the chops for another meal time too.
Ambiance - 4/5
Food - 4/5
Service - 4/5
Overall good.
I have been here and had takeaways ad my friends from Hyderabad enjoy this place and make plans here.
I like the food here. Would bypass love.
Definitely a good place to stop by. Not really spicy.
In my top two favorite Indian restaurants of Auckland. My recommendation is the dine in. Been a few times now and food has been consistent. Curries are flavorful, naans are enjoyable and service is good. Mango Lassis here are pretty damn good too. This place is worth the 30 minute drive across town. Prices are a little higher than some other Indian dine in places around Auckland, but the food is well worth it.
The Paradise buffet restaurant opened up recently on Kitchener Street also with unbelievable pp price/adult (so cheap!), however the food served here is more similar to that found at the takeaway section of Paradise which I personally was disappointed with as the Takeaway dishes are not to my liking, but there are numerous choices available at the buffet (15 dishes including curries, biryani, stir fried noodles, fresh veggies, raita, rice...etc). I will definitely be back to Paradise, the one on Sandringham road.
i had the lamb rogan josh it was very bad taste the curry suace was watery the meat was hard and too much fat on the sides its not a good flavour im very disapointed i will not go again...((((
Good food, decent biryani. I have many things from this place. It gets pretty crowded on weekends. Atleast a 30 min wait for seating or even take away is usual. Definitely not the best biryani in town, but good. This place is a bit over hyped because of the name it shares with one the best biriyani houses in India in Hyderabad.
The meal we had yesterday was tasty and good amount of food that was enough for our gathering , I recommended paradise for all cultures , service was excellent
Well done
Excellent Indian food and very reasonable price , lamb chops , tandoori chicken, Indiana butter chicken, chicken pasanda , what ever i have eaten here i got no complaints bit spicy at times but that's alright you can let them know at the time of placing order . Will visit again and again
The best curry in Auckland as far as i'm aware! Really reasonably priced as well. I would recommend the takeaway rather than dine-in as the enviroment is a bit average. Come early and reserve a table too - they pack out! With food this good though, easy to see why.
My last meal before I die would be here! So when a white friend asked to take him and his gf to an Indian joint there was no other place.
Service is as good as it can get. Its a takeaway meets restaurant kinda situation so be warned. After much thought we went with Indian style butter chicken (as suggested by the owner), Paneer kadhai, Chicken Manchurian, chicken biryani and naan breads. All this for three people 😳
In a nutshell - everything was awesome not just for me but my white friends too and its hard to please both palates at the same time.
Best part and the reason why I really like this place. The owner misunderstood our order and we got served 2 butter chicken portions for which we had already paid. He then came to our table to apologise and insisted on refunding one to which we refused. He then left $14 cash on the table which we left there as tips. My friend was astonished and said not only has he never seen something like this - this owner works on the floor when he clearly doesn't need to.
I've come to this place many a times and was never disappointed. Its because the guy who runs the place puts his blood sweat and tears to keep that consistency. Its grown over the years and long shall it continue.
Yes - I LOVE PARADISE 😊

Awesome experience of dinning there on delicious Indian cuisine. The best ever Indian food I found in entire Auckland till date. Starting with the tongue tickling starters......to the main course, all was like yummy. Will love to go back again & again. Wait time sucks a bit though, yet it's worth a wait both on taste & money. Service is quite good.
I have to say here has the best Indian food. We go across the entire Auckland to have it every month. I would give a full 5 points but -0.5 for the waiting time.
I have been to Paradise way to many times now. Its is simply the best in the town hands down. No match at all. I am a chicken guy. My favourites here are Chicken Biryani, Chicken Kadhai and Garlic naan are to die for. Simply yummazing...
Fast, efficient service. Butter naan is to die for, and dishes are good value for money. The chicken tiika is also amazing, have never been let down with the food here. Always very busy but a good atmosphere :)
Best value for money. Their butter chicken was better seasoned than your average food-court one. Naan bread game is on point, warm, light and fluffy and doesn't taste like it's been sitting around for half the day. Will definitely be back to try out their other curries!
Myself and a few Colleagues were invited out to dinner last night at Sandringham in Auckland and I have to say this was the best Indian Food I have ever tasted. not only was the food excellent the Service met the same level of Professionalism. my honest feedback please give this place a try you will not be disappointed. the wait is a little long but it is worth it and I will definitely be back now that I have found you :-)
Ordered food for 100 people, Food quantity was great, taste was amazing and super delicious. Very good Service and Value. I had requested for the food not to be too chilly hot and the food was just as I had requested, I am super happy and highly recommend to anybody who would like to use Paradise to cater. I will use them again for any party that I may host.
Overrated place considering how popular it is. Wouldn't wait for 30 min for a table when you have other options just next to it. Food is standard and good quality. No it doesn't have the best biryani but it does have some really delicious curries. Overall it's alright but to repeat not worth the hype it has.
After having takeaways from here, it definitely felt like paradise. The curries are delicious!!!! Including the dhal and even the naan is light and fluffy. Haven't tried something I disliked so far.
Note sometimes it may be cheaper to order from the buffet line instead of calling them for "made to order" items.
Best of all, is the value for money!!! Takeaway prices for quality food.
I see why there is always a queue now.
Always taken away my orders from here, most of the time it is only chicken biryani with ginger chicken or chicken 65. The taste is consistent and outstanding! I always come back for the great taste and quick and friendly service.
Amazing food and great service, no wonder it's always busy! I have tried many things from this menu, I would recommend this info Chinese menu rather than the normal butter chicken
Excellent customer service, good quantity for price, with the good food they are making they should increase the choice more, specially of vegetarian dishes.
Love the food here, Very friendly staff, my visits to paradise are becoming more and more frequent.
I love this place. I usually get the chicken manchurian, chicken 65 and harabara chicken. My favourite has to be the harabara chicken!!! Really good indian food and really nice to see a good mix of people eating here. It is always busy up until closing time. Paradise is also a family favourite. THE BEST!!
Having seen the good reviews I knew I had to try Paradise.
Knowing how popular this place is we decided to see if we can get a table at 6:20pm. It waz reasonably full but we were lucky enough to be seated immediately.
You have to order at the front counter. We ordered Indian butter chicken, lamb korma and roti.
I was very surprised at how much meat they give you. The curry was very very good. It had great texture and was very full of flavour. I love it when curries are spice heavy vut not chilli heavy.
Will definitely be back!
Fucking spectacular.
This curry place is not your typical. Well textured curries full of flavour and spice. The curry style is not your sweet food court crap.
The texture is good and quite rough but the flavour is extremely full.
Ordered the Indian butter chicken and lamb Korma and both did not disappoint. The chicken was freshly made and a full on tandoori chicken. The gravy was rich but not sickly and the spice was robust. Don't mix hot and spice, it wasn't a burn with a lazy sprinkle of chilli powder but a robust spice blend and plenty of it. Same goes for the lamb and the cut of meat was relatively high quality compared to other places.
The butter roti was good. I'd probably get a naan next time though just cos it's softer and better to wipe sauce with.
Portions are also very good
Booyah.
Fantastic.
Decided to give this place a go after reading all the good reviews. The wait time initially was 40 mins but one of the guy gave us a ring back in 5 mins letting us know our table is ready.
we got the tandori chicken to start, indian butter chicken and briyani mutton. We also got a garlic naan. The tandori chicken was perfect, they give such large portion, well worth the price. The indian butter chicken was unique, it wasnt like the butter chicken we used to have! It was so good because it doesnt get sickening like the ones we normally get in the malls and etc, so bloody delicious. Their briyani rice is the best i've tasted so far in auckland! So good for value, so so good. Lastly, we have no words to describe the garlic naan. It was crispy and soft, unlike other places makes it too thick and not soft inside. Paradise is so yummy!! Worth your money!

Out of all the Indian restaurants I've tried in the city, I like Paradise the best. The biryani is very typical Hyderabadi - lightly spiced rice with a generous dose of salan on the side. I definitely recommend their biryani. It is as close to authentic Hyderabadi biryani you'll get this side of the Pacific. I've tried a few curries as well and they don't disappoint. If you do make a pit stop at Paradise, I'd recommend coming in atleast 15 mins early as there is always a queue for a table. The takeaway service is a lot faster though.
Only commenting for take aways. Great prices and speedy service. Chicken lollipops and pakoras are always a yum snack.
The non Indian butter chicken is the worst in Auckland. Watery and tasteless. Forgot it was bad and kicked myself for ordering it a second time. Mixed it in with another curry to make it palatable. Lentil curries are yummy and the special chicken too.
Carrot halwa is usually pretty good but once or twice they've tasted earthy and not sweet due to poor quality carrots. Good place if you know what to order.
Try it you won't be disappointed! Always had takeaways but went for the restaurant experience last night for dinner.
Could not fault on anything. The staff were attentive and friendly. It was Friday night and we went in peak hour but it didn't feel that way due to the efficiency of the staff.
We decided to skip the entrées and go straight for mains. We ordered at the counter, garlic naans, chicken tikka and paneer in pepper sauce. Our favourite was the paneer as it was spicy and had a completely unique and delicious taste. As much as I like to try replicate restaurant dishes at home, I would be hard pressed to get the taste of this one right.
Also we were impressed by the semi open kitchens in which one can observe fresh handmade naans and various meats and fishes being made in the tandoor as well as sizzling plates.
My All time one Stop Restaurant in Auckland for Indian Food. All I can say their way of preparing food is Authentic and flavorsome.I've been here countless times.
Their Non-Veg starters are the best than many restaurants I've tasted in India.Even I can say without any doubt the AKL paradise starters are more delicious, tender, tasty than the original Hyderabad Paradise Restaurant in India.
Afghani Kebab, Nizami Sheek Kebab, Balti chicken, Paradise special curry and Pepper Chicken are my all time favourites from their menu.I am really missing their Roomali Roti wasn't sure why they stopped doing that.
Great Value for money.I recommend eating there to feel the freshness.
Great food, mouth watering dishes, Tandoori Platter with Mutton Dum Biryani and cool down with mango lassi...awesome... with good and Prompt service all are welcoming and nice ambience... value for money.. My kid loves to go there.. His favourite is Fish Tandoori...another awesome dish.once you go there you will love it.

Well...my stay in NZ for 6 months, made me try out food at a couple of restaurants. Although it's been quite some time that I'm back, my experience here made me write a review!
I'm a hardcore non vegetarian n biryani lover n I don't get easily pleased unless the food is really tasty. My review here is based just on the "BIryani". Run by Indians?
I was in love with their chicken biryani...soooo delicious...yummy....mouth watering...loads of flavorful chicken pieces n long grains of rice.
This is the best biryani I've had so far...until then it was at Punjab Grill, Bangalore.
I remember how I used to travel from New Market to Sandringham just to take away this wholesome food at $11 !
These ppl can give run for the money for some of the great Indian restaurants.
Well done u guys. I hope ur keeping up with the taste n flavor!
If I could rate this beauty a 10 out of 5 I would. For curries that exceed your expectations, you cannot go past Paradise. A wide range of 'curries to go' ready made and also made to order specials. Paradise do a lunch 'snack box' special for $8 including a butter Naan, curry and rice. A definite full serving size, to leave you feeling like a good curry should. True to the spice levels, a medium is a medium, a hot is a hot and an Indian Hot is... only what I can assume to be too hot for my tastebuds. But give it a whirl, drive out of your way to try it. You will not regret that decision.
After seeing the high ratings we decided to dine here tonight. We ordered a garlic naan , paneer naan, mutton dum biriyani, kadai lamb and chicken manchurian. Service was reasonably fast even though the restaurant was incredibly busy . I found the staff helpful and efficient. The food was very tasty and well served and having been to several Indian restaurants all over NZ , this place rates very high and could easily be number one ! Portion sizes were excellent when compared to the price . Our bill came upto 49 dollars which I thought was extremely reasonable. A highlight of my evening was when I went to get a coke from the counter and the manager asked me to pay for it later . After the meal I proceeded to the counter to pay for my coke but the manager decided to waive the charge . I insisted I pay for it anyway and did so but was duly impressed by the restaurants customer focussed attitude and generosity . While this may not be everyone's experience and certainly should not be the expectation when dining here ,this place does not skimp on its customers and their friendly attitude, excellent food and brilliant service will make any ones evening a pleasant one . Highly recommended and top notch delivery.
This is a well known place so not much to add- really nice food but I only wish they are a bit less salty. And this place doesn't sell or byo alcohol.
Can't go wrong with paradise...comfort food that's banged out real quick unless you having dinner then good luck...lines can be crazy....I do feel that the biryani is not consistent all the time...sandringham's premier restaurant
I've had quite a bit of indian food - either restaurant or takeaway Paradise lives up to the hype that i've heard quite a lot about. The Naan is always fresh and distinct to the naan breads you'll find in other restaurants. The curries (particularly the special Paneer) was really good - have had it quite a bit now and it's a quite good experience if you're looking for chef made Indian food 10minutes from the city.

Awesome place if you wanna enjoy the "eating" experience- really good decor, excellent and quick service, very very professional staff that you might not be able to find in some high end restaurant. Loved their lamb chop (if i'm remembering correctly) and chicken jhalfezzi (again if remembering correctly). I'd say biriyani is a bit dry though the quantity and the amount of meat in the biriyani is really good.
Too many reviews of the place already. On a weeknight it has a 15-30 mintues wait....so not much for me to say except....weekends try the Tandoori Fish!
This used to be my go to place for Indian food. Don't get me wrong they still make good food, for example their naan bread is still one of the best in Auckland but their curries are way too oily. I also think that the virtues are no longer freshly prepared like they used to be. In saying all of the above it is still my favourite non-veg Indian place in the Sandringham area.
If you are looking for a good curry in Auckland I would highly recommend taking a trip to Paradise. The curries are awesome and the spice factor is pretty much always spot on with what you order.
Tonight I had the chicken tikka masala, it was amazing! The chicken was tender, the smokiness of the tandoor really came through to give it that authentic taste and the pieces of meat were more than generous. We have only ever had takeaway from this restaurant and always ring ahead as it is usually teeming with customers! Curries are always lovely and fresh and pricing is great. Love, love, love this curry house, best in Auckland!
Love this restaurant a lot! Food is always perfect and so is the service...not once I gone there and it wasn't busy which tells you a lot about the food they make..waiting time to receive your food is reasonable despite the busyness and always taste's fresh and yummy.
Excellent value for money and amazing variety. If you are not sure what to pick from the menu, they will help you decide! Just love it. My option for Indian cuisine in Auckland no doubt.
And it's Halal too :-)
Love the takeaway food here.. Have tried just about everything except the vegetarian curries. Was reading some of the negative reviews and that worries me but have nothing but good takeaways. The service has been mixed.. Its always so busy, a lovely Indian girl has been there the last two times and she's lovely. Favourites would be the masala and the mughlai with cashews.
Been to this place more than 500 times , never disappointed with the food. Have tried almost everything, can't beat the taste.Best Indian restaurent in Nz.
■ Great food
■ Good service
■ Good value for $$
■ Very Busy at dinnertime
■ Queues during peak hours
We've heard a lotta good stuff about Paradise so managed to get takeways tonight. Honestly didn't expect it to be so busy!! The place was packed and it was a mission just to find a parking spot. Other than that, no complaints really! Some of the best dishes Ive tried! Their garlic naan was soft and well seasoned and when paired with the butter chicken = that's where the real magic is at! 👌 Their portions are also very generous, Tbh I wouldnt be too keen to dine here on weekends just coz of the bustle & busy crowd and but the food here is definitely worth raving about 😊😊 So defs made a good choice on the takeaway.
The Best Indian restaurant in NZ. (Not Auckland) Look no further. Succulent kababs, delicious curries and the best bhagare baingan in the country. These guys serve authentic Indian food- not the bastardized-Kiwi version that the other 99% of restaurants follow-who dump ridiculous amounts of colour and cream to enhance flavours. Tandoori pomfret lip-smacking in every sense flown straight from Bombay. Who else serves this stuff? They're now opening a buffet restaurant very soon. With weekend queues at their takeaway and restaurant outlet, this place is to die for. These guys have proper charcoal tandoors. The name speaks for itself. People order as far south as Dunedin. Service is exemplary and very quick. I live in Hamilton myself and visit Auckland often and never fail to eat here. These guys should open in every major city in NZ and thrift the other wannabe jokers out of business!
Fantastic! The food is amazing; can taste the blends of spices. Service is fast and the food is not over priced. This is my husband and I's new favourite indian restaurant.
Really nice food and well priced. Our children love the lollipop chicken and you can''t go past the korma, definitely our favourite. Great atmosphere if you eat in and also great for takeaways.
Best indian I've been too and friendliest staff i have encountered. Food was delicious and reasonably priced.
What to order
Entree - Paneer Tikka
Mains
Chicken Jalfrezi (favourite)
Butter Chicken
It will be a shame not to rate this restaurant, considering that I go here often (like bawarchi)
Being a big fan of biryani and having lived in auckland for some time, this was my go to place..
Space is cramped up, but the ambience is better than bawarchi..
On some occassions I was disappointed with their biryani as it did not taste well, but overall its good..
Service is fast..
Best Indian restaurants in town! We went there twice, dine in and takeaway and had great experiences both times.
We love their lollipop chicken, the lamb korma, Indian butter chicken, Masala and their biryani rice is a must try!!
Also beautiful fresh nan bread, the butter on is extremely delicious! Top it up with a mango lasi and a can of thumbs up cola !
Would love to be back again and again soon!
Good curries-had the tikka masala, paneer curry, lamb korma and mutton biryani. The only downside was that the naans were thick and sweet- tasted like they were dusted with icing sugar.
Amazing food especially the chicken 65 and garlic naan , portions are large generally cant finish them and prices are pretty low. Staff are friendly too. Would defiantly recommend to anyone wanting Indian food.
Scrumptiously filled with beautiful flavour and the aroma of spices. Authenticity of Indian cuisine at it's best. Lack in service oriented environment of a typical in most quick pace Indian restaurant, which was the only let down.
By far, the best Indian in Auckland( according to me). Everything about this place is awesome(right from the food to their service). Favourite items are Chicken Briyani(must try), harabhara chicken( for the spicy tongue) and the tandoori chicken(for a perfect starter). Only thing I dislike about this place is that the dishes at the takeaway place is really oily.
The best Indian food I have eaten in N.Z
Biryani is very good as well as the harabara chicken (Spicy). Service is good too as long as you can get past the line of customers. Phone in and order is the best move.
The place is very clean tidy and we'll organized. I think I will eat in the restaurant next time as the tandoori looks really good. Almost like India.
This restaurant always serves the best, fresh Indian food veg or non veg. Is always busy and they're going to be moving to a bigger place soon. Can't go wrong with Paradise well worth the wait. Their meat options are always succulent and fresh no slow moving dishes here and I love their cricket theme with personally signed memorabilia by famous cricket stars that have dined here! Went there over the New Years weekend
One of the best Biryani in Auckland. Tikka masala is really nice too. Looking forward trying their skewers next time. LALALALALALALLALALALALALLAL
While I would probably be the last person to tell you that Paradise serves the best Indian food in town, I cannot deny that they have an excellent, broad selection. Everything from their curries to their biryanis are made pretty well and most of the mains are around the $15 mark.
I usually like having the biryani and the chicken 65 over here. There is also Indian-Chinese cuisine here - which is not like Chinese cuisine at all!
One of the many good places in the Mt Roskill/Sandringham area to enjoy Indian cuisine.
Great place when you feel like Indian! by far the best in Auckland! I usually get takeaway as this place is almost always busy! handy location also in Mt Roskill
Had a great meal here today. Place was totally full by 6.30 Pm. Nice room great service. Food was absolutely delicious and well priced. Tried chilli mini corn, lamb cutlets for entree. Both fantastic. For main tried chicken masala chicken in a poppy seed gravy and saag paneer. Without exception flavours were amazing. Total cost $80. Great value and great food. I'll be back.
The specialty of this place has to be its chicken biryani, its amazing. Infact the only thing that I love at this restaurant is this dish. However I have tired other vegetarian options such as Aloo Mutter and Channa Masala, both these are very good vegetarian options. But then again I wish they had a more vast range of Vege options. Their chicken lollipop is amazing as well, I tired the chilly chicken which is a dry dish, I must say its very spicy, perfect for me but not for my husband lol! Their naan is omg the best you will ever find in any indian restaurant, really reminds me of india! If you consider going here to get biryani, I suggest buying a family pack for $35, which feeds 4 people and comes with raita, and sweet coconut curry. For an additional $10, you can get biryani, raita, curry and a dessert (I haven't bought this yet!) The food is great, but the restaurant is usually busy and filled after 4, busiest day would have to be Fridays and Saturdays.
I have been to this restaurant many many times. It is always busy but worth the wait during dinner time. Love the Lamb Biryani , Baltic Chicken and my favourite is the Kadai Chicken. The restaurant is very clean and the staff are very friendly.( Miss Rawa is our favourire)
Well so many positive reviews speak for themselves. Always busy which is a good sign. Great food,no complains. Quick and fast service. Definitely worth checking out.
Lets start with the food... Started out with the tandoori mixed appetizer and it dazzled my taste buds with flavors that my brain could not even comprehend from start to finish. I was licking the wooden board before a beautiful young Ethiopian goddess so kindly removed it from my grasp. At this point in time my mouth was salivating uncontrollably. I'm not sure if it was because of the the tandoori or the smile that was laid upon from this sparkle of light that had just cleared my plate. But I knew more food was coming and I needed to focus on the real task at hand which was filling my belly. Promptly about 5 minutes later the Ethiopian angel came back with a prawn masala and accidentally rubbed her booty against me with the most gentle touch. At this point I was thinking of asking for her number but I didn't want to be rude. So I just focused on the prawn masala. When I was about half way done I noticed her walking by again and caught what looked to be a sweet smile directed at me. My attention shifted from the delicious masala to this magnificent creature that had now captured my soul. Then all of sudden a prawn drops off my chop sticks and onto my brand new Gucci pants. Surely this could not be a coincidence because this lovely woman was right there. She picked up the lonely prawn and proceeded to hand feed it to me. I must say that I have experienced good service but nothing to this level. I finished up my business with the prawn masala and was getting ready to depart when she crept up from behind and whispered the kindest words in my ear... "how about a mango lassi to finish your experience". I will admit I was caught off guard but I accepted and would only later would I realize that I had made the right choice. I might have confused this kind service as an invitation to ask for her digits but hell... you only live once, YOLO! So I quickly slammed my water in hopes that she would refill it. Of course about 30 seconds later she was at my side with the purest water in New Zealand. I said "listen I don't usually do this but there is something about you that has got me wanting to ask for your number". She giggled and then replied "I have two brothers and thats enough for me". I was a little confused by the response but had to accept it. They say you win some and you lose some and on this particular night I won by ordering the prawn masala and tandoori mixed platter. I respectively exited the premises but will definitely be back for not only the food but to experience the service that was provided by this one of a kind shining star.
We had an event on Christmas Day and were looking for curry to be part of our menu. We were recommended to approach Paradise and it was an excellent choice.
The manager gave us a personalised service and great deal for the quantity we needed. He helped us along the way for the weeks leading up to the event. He was very accommodating and went above and beyond our needs. We ordered butter chicken (at mild spice level – which came perfect) which was very tender, smooth and not too heavy. Rice we also ordered a large portion, which we expected to come plain, but it was beautiful top quality imported rice, with cashew nuts and mild spices mixed throughout which gave it the premium experience.
I didn’t pick up the order during the day, but at night went back to return their large pots that they were provided in. The place was definitely bustling with queues out the door just to get takeaway. The staff were friendly upon approach, they knew who we were by name after just mentioning needing to speak to the manager and directed us straight away to meet him. It was a pleasure chat with him as he explained to us how they prepared the food, the cooking, the rice etc. and the quality that goes into each dish. Very friendly and welcoming and it was a pleasure to chat with him.
It was a fantastic service and customer care all over from the manager and the staff. Very professional and I will certainly be looking forward to organising more food from them, whether it be an event or just to pop in for a simple meal and trying the different options available.
Recommended for any person who is after a large meal at a very competitive price from a top Indian restaurant.
Great customer service and most authentic Indian in New Zealand. Can't go enough times. Get good service levels from staff too. Drinks menu could be broader but that's a minor point
Came here a while back...
Awesome staff. Great food. Deceptive portion sizes that fill you up! Good ambience. Clean. In the heart of Sandringham. I can't wait for the buffet to open soon if it hasn't opened up already.
One of the best.
Can get busy. If it weren't for someone I knew it would've been rude that i had to leave so a large group of people can have a seat but i finished my meal anyway...
Can't wait to come back though!
Been a favourite for me and many friends for years now..always first choice, food never disappoints, love taking people there for the first time and watching their reactions.. great staff too, welcoming, friendly and super efficient, I feel at home in this very relaxed cosmopolitan atmosphere. A treasure!
Been here I don't know how many times and specially take ways can't even imagine, by far the best value for money food. So far the taste , quality and portions of the food is the same.
All the tikkas are nice chicken sheekh kebabs are too good. All time favourite place
Better place for cheepest and tastiest Indian food. I always addicted to chilli chicken. Flavour and taste awsm. Biriyani also pretty gd. Best place for Indian food.
I recently catered food from paradise and the food was exceptional. Lamb kebabs were phenomenal and tasted superb. A big thank you and well done to the Chefs. Would recommend to everyone.
Never been there, but nothing would have stopped me from eating at this place. Though I have just ate through take away but the food is never disappointing. Favourites are #biryani #butterchicken #butternaan. Taste is like yum and always fills my mouth with gushy fluids. Will eat there sometime soon and let my @hungryoungman fulfill his desire of the food they serve, hot and fragnant....
Paradise restaurant looks like a take-away store at first glance, but as you approach you often see a long line of people sitting on the outside couches waiting to be seated. And for very good reason!
No, the tables aren't set up for you when you arrive. No, you can't order at your table. No, the wait times aren't short. But.. It is well worth over-looking all of the above. The food is absolutely fantastic tasting, authentic Indian food. We ordered the tandoori chicken with a yoghurt sauce and butter naan (this combination was my favourite and I highly recommend trying it), the lollipop chicken, and the chicken and mutton biryani - which is a rice and meat dish. The delightful surprise is that you'll find your meal comes to half what you pay at almost any other reputable Indian restaurant!! All mains roughly $12!!! For what you get - flavours, quality etc, you are getting an absolute bargain!
Overall, would HIGHLY recommend coming to Paradise any time you have a craving for Indian food.
One of my favourite Indian restaurant, their food is delicious, authentic and good portions .
Today we had the chicken takka and afghan kebab with garlic naan. They were Entrees but we had them as mains , big pieces of tender chicken, beautiful marinated and so so so tasty. The meat literally melted in my mouth.
The naan was pretty decent too ! Was very tempted to have another but my stomach 99%full.
Highly recommend , best place for a good traditional Indian food!
Would have rated a 5 but the sour looking lady (non Indian ) at the cashier had such a bad attitude I had to deduct some points .
We had the best Indian curry at this place. I personally love butter chicken. I make it by myself at home, and I have tried so many butter chicken at numerous food court stores and Indian restaurants. Yet, Paradise is the best. The curry and roti were a bit salty, but I bet this is the place you have to go to have the best Indian curry in Auckland.
The one thing that experience has taught me is that where lots of people from another country flock to a food outlet that cooks their own native food, that is the place to go try out. If it is good by the natives, it must be a good place. That adage applies to this place and continues to not fail....
Been here several times mainly for the takeaway section of the outlet but it is always busy with steady stream of South Asian folk coming and buying the delicious food.
There is a selection of ready made food served in heater cabinets or made to order items off the menu on the wall. Have tried a selection of both and haven't had a bad meal to date
The butter chicken is rich and creamy with a delicate balance of spice and heat
The paradise special chicken is a delight when combined with butter naans at 3 for $5.
Another must try on the weekends are the chicken lollipops which are a cute play on the eye, nice and tasty and normally fly off the shelf as quickly as they are made.
The only down side which is a very minor criticism is that the biryani dishes can be on the dry side on its own but this is easily rectified by getting a dhal side dish (try the tarka dhal over weekends only)
Overall the locals all can't be wrong.....
Best Indian restaurant in Auckland. Excellent service. Have been a regular customer since 1.5 years. I am surprise, how chef can maintain similar taste all the time. Quantity and quality are top notch. Very good hygiene and I love that they sterilize the plates. Just would like to suggest to increase variety in vegetarian dishes and also to different starters. Other than bread, curry and rice not much option for vegetarian people. They should also add some soup and starters to make the menu complete.
Amazing food. We ordered four different dishes and everything was delectable. The garlic naan in particular was the highlight -- best naan ever. Service could be better but honestly for the quality of the food I don't even mind.
Possibly the best Indian food I've had since living in Auckland. A real depth of flavour to their food. They were incredibly busy on the night so we had to wait around outside for a table for around 20-25 min, the food was worth the wait and watching the kitchen staff use the Tandoor ovens and the smells coming from those ovens while waiting only intensifies your hunger and appreciation for the food.
A tad unfortunate that they're not licensed as a hot curry and cold beer is one of the greatest things known to man.
Friendly staff, can't wait to go back.
Normally I feel indian food is greasy and heavy, but the food from paradise is very clean and light.
Ive tried most of the mild and medium curry along with the Lollipop chicken (which is AWESOME) and have been more than happy with everything.
Great service, authentic food, extremely reasonably priced for the quality of food they serve up. Ive been back a few times now and its been consistently great every time.
We ordered the Chicken Tikka entree, Balti lamb, Lamb spinach, Paneer butter masala, rice and cheese / garlic naan. All of the curries were packed with flavour and really tasty. We found the balance of spices just right for our palettes. My favourite dish of the night was the Balti Lamb, really tender and enjoyed the sauce. The naan was fresh and the perfect accompaniment to our curries. My partner is vegetarian and it's great to see they offer plenty of options for those meat free eaters! The service is good and the staff were pretty clued up on the menu. The restaurant is clean and tidy, there is a reasonable amount of seating with some tables outside.
This place is always really busy with people dining in and also taking away so there may be a little bit of a wait, however the food does seem to still come out reasonably quick. The portions are very decent so you may find yourself with left overs to take home depending on how hungry you are! Recommend for all of those that love indian food!
Best food best service. I feel all indian restaurants specially like Satya should close down and Paradise should take over all. I go there 5 days a week and trying to make it 7. Awesome guys.....food at its best no bullshit.
I had tried many cuisines of paradise but i only liked biryani n halwa.Except these, currys were average not that delicious.Always went there to have biryani n halwa only. All n all fine1
Excellent indian food ... Have visited lot of Indian places in Auckland and can say this is definitely one of the best indian food. Biriyani is the best.
Very consistent taste. When me and my partner first visited this place it was just a start up thing about 3-4 years back I think and now they've got a separate take away store and apparently another branch opening up soon nearby.
Glad that the taste hasn't changed after all this😇
Make sure you ask specifically for the Indian Butter Chicken instead of the ready one.
Best Indian that I've tasted so far. Really enjoyed their Chicken Tikka Masala! It's really bursting with flavor and enjoyable from the first bite to the last. Heck even the Garlic Naan and Papadum can stand on their own! I'd definitely go back here whenever I start Jonesing for Curry.
I don't eat much Indian food except in food court, I went this place with my Fiji Indian friends so I don't need to worry how to order or distinguish different curry and masala. The restaurant is quite busy on Friday night. nice Indian food experience and will recommend to my friends.
Mostly visited restaurant by me. Loved their tatse. Constantly good taste. Specially their chicken lolly pop, chilli chicken and biriyani. Will go there again and again.
The food was good! A little bit less than expected. Didnt quite get value for money. Koftas were super hard, paneer 65 - a big no no. Definitely a go to place but there are other better places than this.
Best biryani in Auckland. What most people do is they expect good customer service from an establishment that thrives on its take away. So if you're going to get offended by someone not looking into your eyes and smiling while they put your food on the table, then I suggest you go somewhere else. All 4 points I've given are for the food. That's what's most important.
This place is always a good choice to pick up some quick and satisfying takeaway. Love their curries as they are the closest thing to actual taste of an Indian curry the way you can get them in india. All the other fancy Indian restaurants have altered the recipes to suit the locality but paradise brings back the Indian taste with spice and hotness to their curries. I definitely keep going back their and their biryani is the best I have had in NZ
You'll never be failed whenever you step into this place. Every time I've been to Paradise I've been wowed continuously. The food is amazing and the place is always buzzing.
My friend and I arrived just after 8 and were seated instantly. It was lucky we got there at that time as the place didn't take long to pack out. The atmosphere is great - the owner definitely loves cricket as there were several screens around playing Indian cricket games, as well as photos of Sachin Tendulkar to accompany.
My friend and I had ordered the Shekh Kebab for entree - great choice. These were better than other Indian restaurants I have been too. They had a bit of a kick to it so if you aren't a chili lover then I recommend to get something else.
We then went on and ordered the classic butter chicken and palak paneer for mains, with naan on the side. Both mains came with complementary rice so the naan was probably not necessary. However, the naan was a perfect condiment to the meals.
We were both so stuffed and satisfied with our feast we left with smiles on our faces. I recommend this place to anyone who is time poor as food is always coming out quickly. Definitely a place to try if you're wanting a good, hearty, indian street food meal.
Great food, especially the food from the tandoor. Lip-smacking. Have tried the Chiken Biryani, Chicken tikka masala, chicken tandoori, the non veg platter. Chicken lollipops are just fantastic.
Love the decor and the ambiance, nicely maintained including the wash areas and the rest rooms. Have hardly come across any delays with the food orders. We do have tried a vege dish of paneer and was not so up to the mark in comparison to the non veg tandoor dishes.
I usually prefer for take-a ways as there is hardly any place to sit or accommodate yourself as it is always crowded, well this explains about the good food they serve. Highly recommend.
Wow! The food here was amazing - we branched out and ordered a vegetarian dish which I wouldn't usually go for. It was the 'Bagarey Baigan' (Spicy Aubergines in Tamarind Gravy) and it was possibly the best curry I have ever had. Great depth of flavour and perfect amount of spice, and the garlic naan was a great way to mop up the extra sauce. The staff were also really friendly and helpful with explaining the dishes. Get there early - it was really busy even on a Tuesday!
The first time I had food from here, it was takeout lamb biryani. It was not great. So to say I was incredibly sceptical when my husband told me that it was really good when he went for a work function, is an understatement. Anyway, we finally went last Sunday evening for dinner and I have to say that I really enjoyed the food. It was delicious.
We chose the Afghani kebab for entree which had such rich and distinct flavours and was gone very quickly. Brilliant starter.
Hubby ordered the chicken makhani and i chose the lamb masala dish. Both were incredible and memorable.
They certainly have a strange setup in terms of going to the counter and ordering your food once you have already been seated and had a look at the menu, but with food that good, I don't think I can complain too much about it.
I loved the atmosphere and it felt really nice to sit down and have a lovely meal with my hubby. Truly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend this place.
The 4.5 is really only the minor gripe re. The setup but nothing major :)
I would rate this the best place to if you are craving for some biriyani. When everything seems fine, there is just one problem with the place. It is always crowded and it leads to waiting for long hours. I would expect them to expand the place even more. If you have a lot of patience and you are a biriyani lover then this is the place to go.
Taken here by a friend who knows the area. Really delicious selection of curries, not just focussed on your standard "British Indian" curries for once! Discovered Pepper Chicken which has been added to my standard order, and their speciality Chicken dish was my stand out favourite!
Ambiance not amazing but not bad enough to detract from great food and service.
Had takeaways here recently. Quality Indian food, friendly service and reasonable prices. We had the Paradise Special Chicken Curry, Saag Paneer curry and mango lassi's. Both were delicious however the Special chicken curry deserves a special mention.... outstanding 😊. Defs will be back.
Great Indian food in Sandringham. Had the chicken korma and was very pleased with the quality and authenticity. Service was excellent and the friendly waiter helped me find something not too spicy. There’s also a live kitchen where you can peek in and watch them making naan bread the traditional way… cool!

Amazing food! The queue always spills out onto the road on a Thursday-Saturday night.
The service is average and the atmosphere is very get in and get out. However this is redeemed by the extremely flavoursome food!
The garlic naan will blow your mind!
My new favourite Indian restaurant!
Excellent quality food at such reasonable prices. The curries have a good proportion of meat (unlike other places) and taste flavorful, authentic and fresh. I especially love the naan bread - warm and fresh straight out the oven, tastes so much different/better than your average naan! The rice is also pleasantly flavored with spices.
Thanks Paradise!
Paradise...Paradise Paradise!!! The name said it all. This place is a heaven for Indian food. After numerous recommendations by my indian friends and colleagues as well as others, I had to try for myself. The results was MIND BLOWING. Their curry was delicious and flavourful. Their naan bread was crisp and tasty. I have tried their mutton biriyani, lamb masala, chicken tikka masala and all were excellent! I cant fault! Paradise is always busy in both dine in and takeaway and this is the reason why! Any true indian food lover out here, if you are seeking salvations in indian food, give Paradise a go.
Had the Indian Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala takeaway.
Absolutely yum!!!!!!
Arguably out of Auckland this is the best, most authentic Indian restaurant.
Will be back....
Paradise is definitely the best place for Indian food, they have warm and friendly customer service, the food is well priced, and it tastes great overall a standout amongst other Indian takeaways and restaurants. I will be returning and encourage you to try it if you haven't already.
Paradise serves awesome Indian food, it had got lots of non vegetarian varieties. Taste is one of the best available in Auckland, i guess. But they don't accept credits cards, which is very annoying for such a big food business.
I tried food on weekends and even during weekdays, on weekends food is freshly cooked and even the meat/chicken/lamb are fresh, u can feel the juicyness and freshness. I tried the food on weekdays, twice; it was disappointing-food was hot and sizzling but meat/chicken in it was stale, very chewy, just felt like eating a rubber. My family owns a food retail chain in India and i know how it tastes when the restaurant serves stale/left-over food. The till staff just provides with an EFTPOS receipt, they do not provide any bill/GST receipt, on asking they come up with a new excuse every time.
This is not expected out of PARADISE.
The best fresh-made nan bread in AKL...those tandoori chicken are simply delish! The staff were efficient & friendly...and the price was cheap to my surprise..good job guys...Definitely coming back! P/s: manggo lassi is a must...refreshingly nice!
Arguably the best indian restaurant in Auckland. Their Biriyani is the perfect dish for when friends come over and the butter chicken is to die for. There's a good reason why Paradise is always busy.
Having tried indian cuisine in pretty much all of the central auckland, I would say that Paradise is the absolute and ultimate best. A 25 minutes wait on sunday evening to dine in?? No problems, grab a takeaway instead, ready in a flash and tastes so fresh. Paradise you rock!!
Went here for my partner's brother's birthday. We all ordered way too much and was totally worth it, because it was delicious. We had the chicken jalfrezi, and some tandoori chicken. Not sure what everyone else got but it looked pretty jealousy inducing. Very reasonably priced and quick service.
They don't have a liquor license but there's a little bar on the corner down the road if you need a pre-curry beer.
I think this is one of the best Indian restaurant in Auckland. It's always busy! Lollie-pop chicken is definitely my favourite - full of favours and spices. I also highly recommend their lamb biryani and chicken tikka masala! Not a big fan of the mango lassi though - a bit too sweet. But I love this place and want to try everything on the menu!!!
Awesome food specially chicken briyani :) really worth of spending money on. Will visit again and will recommend to anyone who wants to have authentic indian food.
OMG Such a great food! Great vegetarians options, seafood and fish, nice entrees and really good prices!!! Highly recomended 😉 i'm coming soon again for sure!!!
There lamb biryani is really good! One of the best biryani place in town.
Compared to other biryani joints on Sandringham this is restaurant quality and very clean!
Try the masala grilled fish it is very tasty.
Best restaurant and gud staff and gud service and gud food u can't go wrong at this place keep ur eye close and just go ........awesome restaurant
I live very nearby, and we get takeaways from Paradise about 3 times a month.
Damn - Sooo goood
I love the Kadai Lamb myself, being a kiwi who grew up eating lamb - and from Paradise it's so tender, but it's all good
Loses 0.5 because it's so insanely busy, that it sometimes takes ages to get through on the phone, and I pity the people that turn up without ordering first. You might also have to walk a couple of hundred metres to pick up as parking is crazy in busy times
In a way that's a great compliment though..
Whenever I am overseas and feeling adventurous, I order from a place that is busy - you know it's popular with the locals.
Get some
Dined in once and ordered take away quiet a few times. Food is delicious, yummy. Quantity is good for wat they charge. To dine in, tables are small so if one orders about 4 dishes or more then there is hardly any place left. So suggestion if anyone wanna go there then better combine two tables if you wanna order more. Total Indian Spicy non veg food. Thumbs up!
I had only tried their takeaway Biryanis before but recently went and dined at the restaurant. The dishes we had were so delicious! We had to order rice and naan bread (which are really big) with out meals. I really recommend going with a few friends and have everyone order different curries to share. It's a great place if you love spice and are after an affordable meal. Make sure to arrive early if you want a table inside, we dined on a Friday night, so before 6pm would be ideal (for larger groups).
One of the best chicken biriyani in nz i love it . I suggest try it 👌👌👌👌 . And ambience of restaurant u guys love it , fabulous service overall 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is probably one of my favourite Indian restaurants in Auckland. The food portion is always generous and the prices are not bad either. I really enjoyed the Paneer curry. Helpful staff is also another reason to go there, specially Gagan

Great food with marvellous service. Specially by Gagan, marvellous understaing with great timing.
Hyderabadi Biryani is always be the one for me.
One of the best Indian restaurants I have come across in Auckland. The food is very authentic. Staff is very friendly. We were served by Gagan and he was very friendly. All the dishes he recommended were very good. Definitely a must go restaurant for all Indian food lovers.
Possibly one of the best places ever. Not just in Auckland or New Zealand. Service, food quality, quantity, all on point. The staff has always been friendly and I would love to thank the chef in person, he clearly knows how his job is to be done. Always beyond expectations. We accidentally got charged twice on our card and rung up, they instantly agreed to pay us back provided we gave them the statement ( which is very fair). Once they refunded the money, they apologized and were genuinely sorry which meant a lot to me. They really do care about their customers.
This is by far my favourite Indian restaurant in Auckland. I love the chef recommened special chicken curry, very rich flavour. Just thinking about the yummy masala and curry makes my mouth watering. Haha~Their entree which comes with a big plate is also a star! All sorts of skwers are tasty as got the right balance of spicy and rich. Service is also 5 star. I will definitely be back soon.
It gets you addicted to it. What more should I say. If you are craving for rich Indian authentic food, well your search ends here at Paradise.
I have tried almost all curries, breads and starters. Every dish is worthy of praise.
And yes, let me not miss the overall services, ambiance and decorum. Truly excellent !!
Overall...A Must Go
Cheers
Sumit
This place is sensational. We come here every week and it just keeps getting better. If you want an experience start with the Afghani kebab but if you want to experience the truly sublime finish with the iPaneer 65.
Great service, awesome food as everyone, Gagan was awesome guy to serve us.greet well, got a good takeaway service as well, will come again as soon as I can
Stopped by paradise for takeaway, at $12 a takeaway the portions were big and the chicken dish we ordered had a fair amount of chicken. The dishes we ordered were more fusion style so would like to come back to try the Indian curries for a true review.
For lunch today, we decided to skip Uni meal for some good ol Indian food. Paradise is very popular and has being my takeaway joint for a very long time.. Today however, I decided to try their restaurant side of things. We ordered tandoori chicken as our appetiser and for main was Indian butter chicken with naan and Paradise's famous chicken biriyani.
Paradise's food is hands down the best out here in West Auckland, but service can use some training. Our main was served before we could finish our entree and when ordering the waiter serving mention to us that main is enough for two of us.. I was bit annoyed with him. How much I eat is none of his concern. Shouldn't they be excited that we are paying for more food.
If you’re looking for some good old classic Indian curry, Paradise is your place. A favourite amongst my group of friends, we’ve eaten out here numerous times and have never been disappointed. The place is always busy for dinner especially, so we usually order on the phone around 20 minutes beforehand, and then go to pick it up as a takeaway order.
My favourites are the chicken tikka masala and lamb korma, but honestly, they're all really good! All the curry dishes come with a generous portion of rice as well. Additional sides I recommend are the chicken lollipops and garlic naan :)

This food is the bets curry restaurant in Auckland I recommend it to every one and the service is fantastic and I realy love there mango lase
Excellent Food and Great atmosphere. Generally Indian food outlets go over board with the use of spices and ready made pastes but not this one. I have been in Auckland only for a week and have been there already twice. Definitely not to be missed if anyone wants to try out a different taste.
As far as the menu goes, Chicken Lollipops is a wonderful item to order for kids. Afghani Kababs were also amazing. We have been cordially attended by Gugan every time we went there.
Great food, wonderful ambiance and Gugan and his team make this place a must.
Hi my name is gautam chadha I really love the food and service probided by mr gagan sidhu in wait staff he is a cute boy who knows his job very well
He is really good im customer service
Anyway thanks heaps to sidhu and great chefs efforts
Love you paradise Indian restaurant
Heavenly food with fantastic service... Love this place
Suggest try the paradise special chicken.. 10 out of 10............................
Food is surprisingly good. The moment the food is served to the table youll know that you're in for a treat :) The resto is packed and busy when we came in but our order came in early still so another plus points! It's worth mentioning that the customer service is awesome here and most esp to Gagan who has been all smiles in the entire evening and always checks up on us to ask how the food was which made the experience much greater. Overall, im a very happy customer and will definitely be coming back!
I've been to Paradise many times and been consistently delivering excellent service. Food was delicious. I think their best indian restaurant in town and staff were really friendly especially Gagan. He's one of the staff who serve us gladly from starting to end. Their curries and vegetable manchurian was amazing. Their prices are also affordable compared to other Indian restaurant.
I went in there on a date with my wife. We were greeted by Gagan he provided us a beautiful service, made sure everything was ok and that we were enjoying our dinner. Thanks a lot for the great service we'll be back.
Best Indian food in NZ hands down. I've spent time traveling all over India and eating at this restaurant brings back so many wonderful memories. It's busy but we'll worth the wait!
This is probably one of my favourite Indian restaurants in Auckland. The food portion is always generous and the prices are not bad either. I really enjoyed the mutton biriyani and the chicken 65 last night. The butter naan was also really good... So delicious. We ordered the afghan kebabs as our entree too - we really enjoyed it!
The staff are always nice and every visit has been pleasant.
Sandringham has long been home to numerous South Asian restaurants and being a local it makes for an awesome array of choices when it comes to dinner time - whether buying ingredients to cook at home or buying take out. It wasn't until Paradise opened however that we were truly wowed.
With a line out the door most nights, Paradise was recommended to us by an Indian friend as being 'the real deal'. As a result it has grown taking over two spaces, with separate takeaway and dine in restaurant areas.
We generally order the Lamb Biryani, Manchurian Chicken and Balti Lamb. Each delicious and even more so when paired with a piece of Garlic Paneer Naan.
Notably, if you're feeding a group you can order a Family Pack sized Biryani - they're huge! They say they can feed 4 people but I think that's an underestimate - We ordered one for four people alongside a couple of other dishes and got through maybe a third of the container.
Don't expect to drink alcohol here - it's strictly alcohol free. But you can easily make a night of it by popping next door to Prague once you've finished your meal.
If you're getting takeaway I'd recommend ordering in advance as there can be a bit of a wait otherwise.

Amazing indian food and great busy, family friendly atmosphere. Staff are always helpful especially gagan and food is always so delicious and fresh. Prices are excellent and affordable, so worth visiting. Pomfret, indian butter chicken, biryani and nans are the best. Thank you for your awesome service gagan and the other staff at paradise. Looking forward to seeing you again!
I go here often and I love love the Balti Chicken as main, Afghani kebabs as entree and cheese naans! my brother loves the Lamb Pasinday and Balti Chicken as well. It's exquisite when you're craving a hearty meal and I really like one of the staff (really tall guy) he always recommends things for us and looks after us.
The best food in town.
never disappointed.
Our whole family love the food whether it be chicken lollipop, tikka, indo Chinese, lamb or goat Masala.
Biryani we just love it.
whoever we recommend had become addicted.
even my overseas visitors love the food.
long queue I weekends but good things take time.
awesome staff.
I think this place is a bit overrated. We ordered Indian butter chicken and lamb masala, both were average, nothing special.
The staff were very friendly though.
Came here with my favourite co workers. I'm not a big fan of Indian food and I always choose butter chicken so I thought I would try a different dish (I've forgotten what it's called though). My coworker recommended me the dish and it was a good choice. Also got some garlic naan bread with it and some mango lassi. Both were delicious and the portions are quite good. The restaurant was super busy but the staff kept up good service. Would definitely go again!
I've never had real Indian until I tasted the food here at paradise. The chicken masala special is amazing and the garlic bread naan. Staff are great and always greet you with a smile.
This is by far the best tasting Indian food in Auckland, but the ambience needs to be improved in terms of spacing and lighting.
Tables are too small for a large group to dine in.
We ate chicken korma and lamb spinach with rice and naan bread.. It was great! It was tasty and the meat are cooked well. Plates and cutlery and glass cups are served warm like it has been autoclaved which is really great!
Absolutely fantastic!!!!!! Really authentic and well balanced flavours. Perfectly cooked. Favourites from our visit - pakora, lamb korma, chicken 65, paradise chicken (stand out!!), chicken jelfrezi. Naan's are prepared fresh on site and are the best we've ever had!! A must of you love Indian food. Thanks to Gagan and team for the fantastic service!!
Rather impressed with the food here yesterday. The biryani's here are so popular you literally don't see a table dining without it. We ordered the mutton biryani, manchurian chicken and two butter naans.
The biryani was delicious as was the special manchurian sauce. I loved mixing it together as I'm not too keen on the raita and the curry sauce provided. The naan was fresh hot and buttery. I could have eaten the naans alone for lunch ;)
Service is ok- nothing special but nothing that leaves you feeling bitter either. Likely to come back and try the kormas!
The food in this place is very good. There is a long waiting queue during peak evening hours. This needs to improve. Will go again in the future.
Visited this evening as a group of 5 for dinner. Upon arrival there was a line of people waiting for tables to dine inside. I have never seen Paradise so packed before! We decided to put our name down for a table and come back in 30 minutes. After we were allowed inside there were even more people queuing at the door! When we were seated we were told to order at the front (which is not the usual procedure here, but I believe must be due to how busy they were). We ordered a half-serving tandoori chicken (4 pieces), tandoori pomfret fish, lamb pasinday curry, Indian butter chicken (customisable spiciness, made to order), prawn malai curry and naan bread. Surprisingly the food was quick. Our tandoori came first and curries just a minute later. As for food quality; there's not a thing for me to complain about. It was absolutely top-notch! The only thing which I wish had been different was larger rice servings at the beginning (enough for 5, rather than 3 small bowls). My fave dishes include the lamb (creamy and a generous serving) and the prawn curry (had a lighter, fresher coconuty flavour). Special mention for the plain naans; very buttery and fluffy textured. The staff were extremely friendly and offered great service. This was definitely a standout experience.
I was recommended to go here by a colleague at work who is Indian as this is, in her opinion, the most authentic Indian food in Auckland. Without having been to India myself I can't confirm, but it certainly tasted unlike any other Indian food I've ever experienced.
If this is authentic Indian food, I am hooked. I liked Indian food before, but now I love it. I actually don't know if any Indian food I ate previously can even be considered Indian food in comparison, this might be my official first experience.
I will be going back to Paradise a lot! Highly recommended.
Absolutely excellent service and food. Don't go past Paradise if you are considering catering for a large function.
Paradise catered for a function I hosted for about 130 people. I dealt with the owner, Salah. He was a pleasure to deal with. Very honest, genuine and delivered on his promise. The food on the night of the function was delivered punctually at the agreed time. Paradise staff efficiently organised the buffet. The food was hot and of the highest standard. Paradise staff then took away all the serving dishes etc after the function.
Thanks Salah!
Long waiting times, crowded and pressed for space. While these are generally a turn off, they also mean that this place is incredibly popular, serves very tasty food and is reasonably priced. Have been to this place many many times since it opened up about 4 years ago.....very impressive growth since then. Good food and quick service inside (if you are lucky enough to get a table). But for some like me who has frequented the place since it's early days, the taste has changed slightly. The Biryani....only fans of the Hyderabadi biryani will really like it. Overall, recommended.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant. One of the best indian cuisine restaurants ive been to and maybe the best in auckland. The prices are reasonable but the food exceeds the price. The only down fall is the amount of people being rejected because of the place being full. Thankful that it wasnt for me. :)
After I heard so many positive recommend of paradise, Super(・_・;Phoebe and I decided to visit here. We had the chef's special chicken and spinach lamb curry for main. Their paradise mixed platter is in a large size for an entry as well. They have well balanced the spicy and flavor. From the main curry dishes, I can actually feel the deep and earthy from the blend of spices. we had to order from the counter was a pity. It lowered the level of our dining experience. However, it is good they kept this way to remember the origin of their business.
Well of all the other Indian takeaway/restaurant, I really like this one, I usually order my favorite Chicken Biryani and some other main, surprisingly a lot of them tasted pretty good.
Yummy popular india dishes in Auckland
Price 3/5
Food 4/5
Service 3/5
Atmosphere 4/5
Recommend any curry and tandury chicken
Try again soon.
Best biryani in auckland and i loved the chilly chicken too!!! I just they have an option of making mild dishes for the non chilli lovers but apart from that yummy!
The food is really tasty over here, if you compare it with the other indian food joint in New Zealand. i have tasted food from this place since 2011/12. maybe more than 100 times.
some time their customer service goes below the standard and at times really good.
i am noticing the change in quantity in recent times. it is getting lesser than what it used to be.
One thing they can really improve is not to rush people to eat and get out during the busy period. They need to understand that entree and main dish are not supposed to be served all together. we want to enjoy the food not swallow and get out of the restaurant.
please don't get me wrong, i will still be going to this place for my taste buds.
Recently my family have decided to try curry from an Indian restaurant for the first time. We have always been curious as we recognised the quick expansion of this restaurant within our community. They offered the options of take away or dine in which I have experienced both. I have tried the normal masala chicken, lamb, butter chicken and the paradises special masala chicken on the takeaway menu. I would highly recommend the paradise special masala chicken as it has become my family's favourite dish at Paradise. However it is not found on the dine in menu, but the other night when I dined in, I discovered another new favourite dish on the menu called Harabhara chicken. It is covered in green herb sauce as it shown in the picture which was unexpectedly delicious but I must warn you that it was quite spicy.
Overall, I am completely satisfied with the foods and services for both take away and dine in experience after multiple visits over the past few months. So I would highly suggest you all to try it if you love curries which tastes authentically delicious.
We had an awesome lunch here! I ordered butter chicken- which a bit too sweet and chicken 65-savory and spicy chicken with curry leaves and masala (my favorite😁) also warm naan bread. The service was good too but I think they need to expand the restaurant lol! Because it takes 1 hour to be seated during dinner time😢😢
If you're after an Indian restaurant that is consistent, delicious and authentic, it is definitely Paradise. Biryani is always fantastic (though sometimes spice/chilli level differs) and the tandoori chicken is wonderfully cooked. Try out haleem when it is available!
Absolutely loved it, the food was great and the staff was even better. Only problem is the seating arrangement, it was a bit congested because of the limited space. But overall i had a good time definitely going there again.
The best Indian food I've tasted and according to our son who has been to India is the closest you will get to authentic Indian...anyway we had to try and we were not disappointed at all. We love everything on the menu but what we find excellent value for money not to mention really tasty is the biriyani! Chicken lollipops are good too. I'm hooked and it's our only go to Indian place now. Other Indian places don't rate any longer so I hope we are never disappointed with Paradise.

One of the best restaurant to try Indian food. Food is freshly cooked as you can taste it as this is my fifth visit and I always enjoyed there food.
Great food, pretty authentic compared to the other Indian restaurants around NZ. Prices are fairly similar as well. Hard to find a table on the weekends so if you want to dine in, you may need to wait. Alternatively, a separate take away section is a lot faster if you are in a rush.
The biryani, hara bhara chicken, indian style butter chicken and chicken lollipops are definitely winners for me.
Indian food - LOOOOOOVE! Why? Well, the question is WHY NOT? Indian food is spicy, full of flavour and curries are my favourite food. Dhal and naan, kormas and biryani, vindaloo and rogan josh. All wonderful meals that I never tire of. If it's done properly, it is the most exciting and wonderful cuisine in the world...
Sooooo. Today i decided to go Paradise for my cheat meal!!! Been eating so bloody healthy lately i need some distinctive spices in my life to electrify my taste buds.
We ordered:
1) Mutton Briyani Family Pack Combo and it came with raita, gravy, chicken 53 and dessert. ($45)
I've always love Briyani, i can have it any time any day! If i could eat this for breakfast i would. I had 4 big plates with raita on the side, curries on the top, mixed it and ate it with my fingers like a true Malaysian. Wish you all could see me feast today, ate it with such passion and joy. The raita was nice and the chicken 53 was delishhhhh! So much flavour in one container, never fails to make me happy. The dessert that was different, but in a good way. After the 2nd plate, i was completely stuffed and i decided to start on the dessert (Kheer - rice, milk, dry fruits) and ohhhmyygooddddd it was on point. It had this unique flavour to it that made me feel.... unstuffed (LOL) and continued with 2 more plates of briyani. I've never felt so fat in my life.
2) Butter Chicken ($14)
Good ol' butter chicken! I'm sure if you ask anyone to name the first indian dish that comes to their head, it would be this. I'm actually not a big fan of butter chicken, BUT Paradise makes it so well that i would inhale it all LOL This butter chicken isn't the typical curry you have at food courts, it's not as sweet and the spices in there triggers your taste buds like no other!
3) Lamb Masala ($14)
Anything Masala is yummy. As its in your mouth, the turmeric, cumin and ginger kick in. So many flavours in one plate! Definitely a recommended dish if you like a little adventure in your mouth.
Overall, my experience at Paradise was superb. Unfortunately, i didn't get to dine there. I really wanted devour the food where i felt comfortable like a true fattie. It was my third time here and every time I'm there, from the ambience to the staff to the food, it's been a wonderful experience. All i have to say is, it's the best indian food i've ever had in Auckland so far.
..... P.S
The stuff we ordered... it was a feed for two. Totally smashed it! #TheFatLife
Love their Biriyani, love most of their curries. The $8 lunch menu is also great. They have kept the place tidy and the prices are pretty good as well.
Decided to venture out to Sandringham on Saturday for dinner. It was our first time here and was a bit taken back as to how crowded it was. We left out name and number with the front staff, and were seated about 20-30 minutes later.
In house staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ordered half a tandoori chicken to start with which was one of the best we had had in Auckland, being very authentic, with the smokiness from the tandoor.
For mains, we had ordered the Indian butter chicken (a must try) and the balti lamb which both came with rice. Both dishes were delicious, with the Indian butter chicken being our favourite, again, able to taste that the chicken was cooked in the tandoor, as well as being able to see the spices. The rice was also delicious, being fluffy and not heavy.
We had also ordered naan, which we were sadly disappointed with. It was quite sweet and tasted of bread which similar texture to pizza dough, something we're unlikely to order again.
Paradise is a lovely place for authentic Indian dishes. Be prepared to wait for a table, reservations are recommended.
***had visited another time trying the lamb chops which were delicious, and the lamb biryani which was a bit of a let down being a bit too dry with not enough gravy***
My girlfriends and I dined from the takeaway menu last Saturday night. We shared an array of curries, such as chicken khorma, lamb spinach, fish capsicum masala, and the balti paneer. The curries were so creamy and flavourful. Fish curry is not really a dish I would normally go for, but out of all the curries this was my favourite. Next time I'll be dining in.
I had Biryani Chicken, Paradise special chicken masala and garlic naan. I'm not a big fan of Indian food but these food were tasty. They came in generous portion that me and my boyfriend couldn't finish and had half of biryani for lunch next day. And the whole thing cost only $31.
We finished our dinner around 6.30 on Thursday night and the place was full house already. Obviously it's popular!!
ps. do you like that massive onion flower in the curry? hehe
Second time visit - I went there again week after first visit for take-away. The service was super fast!! I waited less than 5minutes and got my chicken biryani and chily chicken ($10 for 2 meals portion).
If you are big fan of spicy food like me, please please try chilly chicken here. It's not truly Indian food (it's actually under Indian Chinese option). It doesn't look appealing but mannn it tastes soooooooooo good!! I LOVE IT!
Best Indian in town, use to always drive past this place, and there was always a line of people. Decided to phone an order through, ordered the indian butter chicken hot, I can tell you that it does not taste the ones you get at the malls, gravy it full fresh ingredients, and the taste, was fantastic, can't forget the nan to mop it up. If you want awesome Indian food, I highly recomend.
I've had takeaways from here before, but this was the first time I had dined in. (I tried their family pack chicken biryani last time - definitely an affordable way to feed a crowd. It's massive!) We found the service to be very friendly and efficient, and they were particularly understanding of our toddler and the little mess of rice and naan she had made around the table!
We enjoyed the meal and I loved how you could see the man working the tandoor ovens at the front of the restaurant. One of our favourite dishes (the chicken tikka) was cooked in the tandoori and it was smoky and juicy. I would really recommend that you try something that's cooked by this method here.
We ordered two curries - the chicken jalfrezi and the dum ka ghost. I've never had chicken jalfrezi before and liked it. My husband had had it before in England and said it was creamier and less sour than the ones he had over there.
We enjoyed our meal here and will definitely be back. Good food and good service.
HELL YEAH! Best Biriyani, by far, ever! Whenever in Auckland we get two boxes, one chicken and one mutton and they are never anything short of amazing. (when work colleagues head to Wellington I get them to bring them too). I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area... or a short detour on the way to the airport for a delicious takeaway dinner (or lunch, or breakfast, or plane snack) ... just that good. Awesome!
After long time when my family was craving Indian Food (though we always make indian food at home, restaurant style indian food is different for us) we decided to visit Paradise.
The owner stood at the entrance and greeted us with nice smile. The food is always delicious and they try to deliver authentic indian flavours to peeps in New Zealand.
I recommend Paradise if one is looking for spicy and delicious food to fulfil cravings for his/her taste buds.
Good Service
Good Food
Pocket Friendly
Well...this place was recommended by my colleague who is an Indian. She said it was one of the best indian restaurants in Auckland and she was right!! We ordered chicken 65. Indian butter chicken, just butter chicken, and chicken tika masala.. obviously with some naan bread (garlic, cheese and normal one). The portion was generous and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite of them!!!! We will definately go there again !! Thanks for great food team Paradise !

By far the best biriyani I've had in New Zealand. I would love to have here repeatedly as long as I as I am in Auckland. The chicken and Mutton are well cooked but I would still suggest in reducing the price a wee bit.
I love this place! Always have to wait for 10+mins but I don't mind! Also my dad loves this place as well.
I always have palak paneer(spinach and planner cheese curry) quality and quantity is just amazing for the price.
Love this Indian, definitely come back a lot more in the future!!
My favourite authentic Indian joint to dine and takeaway!! Friendly service and good quality food. The chicken chilli here will keep me coming back
The takeaway service is great and great value for money for some of the best tasting Indian food in Auckland. Chicken Makhani, Hyderabadi biryani, Tandoori chicken, seekh kebab, Kheer, Chicken 65 are some of the favorites. Dine-in is a weird experience, you are shown a table but then you have to go to counter and pay for your meals first before they are brought to your table. And the price for the same dishes for eating in is slightly more expensive. Take away is the way to go.
I've been going to Indian restaurants for 2 decades and this one's the best! Recommended by a chef friend. Try the lamb pasinday. It's beautiful!

My partner showed me paradise and we can't stop coming here, Lollipop chicken is the best ! Amazing indian food. My favourite place to get takeaway curry.
This place is my favourite after home food and it’s about
time I give them a review.
I have been going to this place since 7 odd years, right
from the beginning when it was a small takeaway in Ponsonby. I used to go just
for the haleem during Ramadan season, tasted amazing.
It’s a whole different story since Mr Salah took over and
started the new place in Sandringham. The biryani is the best I had so far in
New Zealand.
There are some occasional hiccups with service etc. but it is
part of the game. I have seen them take the responsibility and as long as they
do that, Paradise will be in the game for a long time coming.
As I said, food taste’s amazing and biryani tops the chart
and what I would like to see at paradise is more quality bread from their
kitchen to compliment the curries. Rumali roti, tandoori roti and a lots more
varieties.
I am already craving for some biryani just writing a review J
One of my favorite spots. Awesome flavours, fast service, good price. Authentic indian cuisine that can not be faulted. A positive of this restaurant is that if you cannot sit in (as it gets very busy) you are able to takeaway from right next door. Definitely worth a try.
It's not often that my Indian friends will actually recommend an Indian restaurant to me but Paradise is one place they'll admit to having better food than home.
We ordered the onion pakora, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. We came on a quiet weekday for lunch so the service was quick and our food came quickly. I was impressed by the very light and flavoursome pakora and found the curries to be quite excellent.
Exceptional authentic Indian takeaways! Highly recommend the paneer naan with the Indian (I.e not Kiwi) butter chicken. Well worth a visit but place a phone order, unless you're happy to sit and wait. GF.
This place is pretty much my local when it comes to delicious indian food. Their biryani is amazing and their curries never disappoint. 'Nuff said.
Really nice indian butter chicken the best so far in auckland. The service is bit late may b coz they are bzy always but although the food is really nice.
Fantastic place, great Indian food and a bit cheaper than other places. Their chicken tikka is amazing and I love the Chinese Indian dishes too (especially the chilli chicken) .
Great food! I haven't had a decent Indian meal since I moved to west Auckland a year ago so I was very impressed. I will be coming back. The place was quite busy and had an unusual way of doing things but it's all part of the fun!
Awesome authentic Indian food. Well worth the wait you always get. Can especially recommend the biryani! No idea what the restaurant is like for atmosphere, only ever had takeaway (takeaway dine out of separate shop)
As always, worth the wait. Biryani is simply the best in Auckland. Have been coming here for a while and it never disappoints. Just have to be patient as the long queues can take a while to clear.
We went to Paradise for dinner on Sunday. Food was good, service was quick. You need to get there early as they are crazy busy on weekends. We ordered Vegetarian food and it was not disappointing.
Not a bad curry but not outstanding, great if your looking for a quick curry fix. Definitely better than the Indian chains like Masala or Bollywood.
The food here is just stellar. I mean which place can boast a massive queue every evening of the weekend. The Indian butter chicken is what a real butter chicken should be ( get the made to order one not the one premade). Line up for the Tandoori fish on the weekend it is worth the wait. I got a tandoori fish, chicken lollipop, paya soup & mutton biryani all for $50 & they threw in a free desert.
It's a good Indian food and the new addition to the list is the rumali Roti... Which is great addition to the menu .... Just love the food and the ambience of this place .....
What can I say - the food is absolutely delicious. I'm addicted. I was introduced to Paradise by a friend who said that you haven't had Indian food until you have had Paradise. The amount of different people this friend of mine has introduced to Paradise and got them all hooked on it. I drive there from the others side of Auckland once a fortnight to get a takeaway dinner on a Friday night. You get 2 dishes for just under $30. One thing I am slightly disappointed is with their naans... They are a bit sweet. Otherwise you don't have too say much about this place as the business speaks for itself and the very high turnover of customers on any given night.
Amazing food.. Amazing service.. We were in Auckland for 3 days. We went to Paradise on the second day for dinner. We loved it so much that we went again on the third day. Will go back again and again.. Me and my wife can't get over the food at Paradise.!! Please open a branch in Wellington soon
An institution in Sandringham!
Food: I came for lunch and ordered the Chicken Capsicum Masala and a Paneer Naan. Both were excellent and to my surprise made in less than 10 minutes. There were three other tables and I have no reason to believe it was heated up. There was plenty of chicken in the curry and the rice was not the usual basmati but a lovely yellow rice with vegetables. A refreshing change! The Paneer Naan was delicious but could have possibly been crispier. It was probably because it was almost overflowing with lovely paneer but I won't complain about.
Service: my waiter was a European man who knew his stuff. I was impressed at his knowledge and friendliness. As mentioned the service was fast at least for a mildly busy lunch time. The restaurant was clean and trendy but not pretentious.
Overall: for a great a well priced curry look no further. There are plenty of interesting options for the more adventurous. It was also well patroned by the local Indian community which bodes well! Some of the best Indian I've had in a long time.
Amazing authentic flavours—Great service, great food, one of my favourite places to eat in Auckland. Go and experience a piece of Paradise :)
Food is amazing, Indian and Indian Chinese with big portion sizes and a cheap price. Can get a main, rice, naan and coke for $17-$22. Great for people who love spicy food. Also, good how you can pack leftovers and take it home as the portion sizes are massive for 1 person.
Paradise is always a good experience! Ordered the afghani kebab which was as always delicious along with the yoghurt it's served with, tried the chilli prawn which wasn't as spicy but more sweet than what I had imagined and the butter chicken was awesome as always. Tried the mango lassi which was deliciously refreshing after the spicy meal
Great place to get your desi food flavor. Order does take time but understandable cause this place at any time ive walked in had over 30 patrons.
This on 30th August'14 Saturday last week :-)...had a family occasion and had ordered food through the great guy in one of the pics Salah. He was fantastic and so accommodating with our requests. The Chicken Tikka masala, the Veg.pulav long grain rice, unbelievably long grain was sooooo tasty. The Butter nans were just fantastic and believe me this did create a long lasting impression on my family and guests. They were so impressed and have decided to get the food catered for their family get together's in future.
The serving dishes and the works that he organised made my day. Thanks to Salah and his team, Awesome, keep up the good show. Highly impressed mate. Thanks...Jerry

You don't need to go anywhere else for biriyani! Paradise has an array to choose from and delicious side dishes to keep you coming back for more. Their mutton biriyani is to die for!
Havent been to a lot of indian restaurants in nz, but the food here was great. Good punchy flavours, and the mango lassi is delish.
Great food, good value, and surroundings appropriate for the type of restaurant. About the only negative was the room itself was a bit cold, otherwise may have rated 4.5
Personally, I think this is one if the best, most authentic Indian restaurants in Auckland. Fresh, tasty food. The tandoori chicken is a speciality. However, due to popularity you do need to wait about 45 minutes for a table, but well worth it.
Paradise is a real gem of authenticity. I had the Chicken 65 which was fantastic. The restaurant itself is very open and relaxed. Prices are very reasonable and the service was great. I love how you see the kitchen from the front and can see how the naan bread is made.
My wife and I had Chicken biryani for lunch. It was very good. We will go again. We are senior citizens and we had a bit left over from one serve. Great
Without a doubt, my favourite Indian restaurant in Auckland. The food is always brilliant, I've eaten here pretty much weekly for three years now and never tire of the menu. The curries on offer include ones that I can't find in other Indian restaurants around town. The naan breads are always fresh and amazingly tasty. Along with the food the atmosphere makes it feel like you are in India, it's always full and humming, and as a cricket fan I enjoy being surrounded by the memorabilia on the walls. Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar can't be wrong! Service is quick and the waiters are always happy to suggest new dishes to try, or ask the chef to make a dish not listed on the menu. I've recommended this place to friends and they're all regulars now as well. Keep up the great work guys!
Love it.
Authentic Indian food at affordable prices. Feels like being in India. The lamb curry was so tasty and beautifully spiced.
Naan bread, I could eat ten of those. I will be back soon.
Went for dinning out on Saturday, restaurant was pack - waited 20 minutes for the table.
Ordered zafrani chicken, lamb pasanda, kadai paneer and the naan bread it was real Indian taste so delicious..... prices are so reasonable.
And hearty quantity, keep it up Paradise.
Service A+
I will recommend to everyone
After placing a negative review of this restaurants takeaways about a year ago we decided to try again and opt for a fine in option.
We were so glad we did, the food was amazing! And we loved the cricket themed decor. We ordered a mixed appetiser that was spicer than we usually like but was so delicious and flavoursome. We made sure to choose mains that were made to order, the were served immaculately and tasted as good as they looked.
The only improvement I would suggest is implementing table service instead of having to order at the counter, and gaining a liquor licence.
Highly recommend for their delicious food and cricket themed atmosphere!
I had my 55th birthday on the 23rd of May, I invited my kiwi friends from the New Lynn RSA where I play 8 ball pool. I ordered my dinner from Paradise, it was fish masala, chisken makhani, mutton biryani and chicken lolipops. My kiwi friends so enjoyed the food they had so much so that they took food home for lunch for next day. Hats off to Paradise. I recommend their food to everyone. Cheers guys. That reminds me going back few months I was invited to Dermot English, Mr Bill English's younger brother celebrating his 50th birthday we had to take a plate my wife suggested chicken lolipops, they were a hit Mr Bill English enjoyed them too.
The made to order takeaway is excellent. Because it exceeds my expectations I will not hesitate to give this place a 5 star rating. Patrons predominantly of Indian heritage which is a great sign. High turnover. Also a good sign. A busy takeway midweek is a great sign. I live in Titirangi where we have Masala and Handi- both of these are absolute shi.t.
I haven't tried the curries in a hurries that are sitting in the water baths but they look good. The premises is clean and the staff friendly. Finally an Indian takeaway that isn't in central Auckland that isn't full of white mans blandness and from a PakNSave jar. Keep it up fellas.
I enjoyed the food and service. A nice selection of Indian cuisines. I ordered the afgani kebab for a entrée followed by a chicken tika curry which was nice and spicy. I would recommend paradise because its variety of curry choice. There was even a prawn masala and tandori fish which I would like to try next time I visit.
Thanks a lot guys!
I'm not a frequent patron of Indian food, but when I had asked a taxi driver once where a good place to go to, I was told to go no where else other than Paradise on Sandringham Rd.
I went with a group of friends on a Friday night, and had the chance to try a range of their food. Entrees started with an assortment including the lollipop chicken and chicken tikka. Very tender and full of flavour.
The mains we had the chicken 65, chicken kadai, lamb pasinday and the lamb briyani, all of which were fantastic.
We left the restaurant around 8pm, and there was a big queue outside! make sure you go early. definitely be back for more
The best eggplant infused with lime juice dish I've had anywhere in the world. Service was very good also therefore I highly recommend this restaurant. Their cheese & garlic naan bread is the best in Auckland in my opinion as well. A great place to take friends.
Delicious take-aways from Paradise Indian Food. Had to wait a while, but that wasn't surprising with how busy the place was. Very happy with the service and the meal. Will become regulars here for sure.
The best Indian food in town. My experience with their staff, the quality of food was A+.
Value of the food was exceptionally well priced alongside the portion of the food also.
I would recommend all to go and taste the food of Paradise.
I certainly am going back there for sure
Wow! Best in Auckland. I've dined in twice and had take out last night. I must be getting soft because the dish I bought last night was soooooo hot! I don't remember it being that hot but it has been a year since I last ate it. Also bought a vegetarian dal for my friend who is pregnant. She loved it and said that she would go and get some more.
My favourite is the Kheer dessert which is like, semolina with milk and sliced roasted almonds. Would recommend this place to dine in and as a take out.
I have been looking for a Indian food place and have found it. What a wonderful feast I had, it was takeaway, I had chicken korma, chicken biyrani & naan. Although a little spicy for my liking, it was superb.
I will most definitely be making a visit there for Indian cuisine in the future.
My friend's son was visiting me in Hamilton and there he comes with a big black plastic bag, I asked what have you brought for me, he said ' you always miss Bombay biryani and that is what I have brought for you', I asked him are you joking, he said, open and see , you will not believe, it was Paradise chicken briyani and I was so thrilled with the aroma, I straight away helped myself and started to eat, Oh man ,it was really yum and the taste was so good and I could not stop licking my fingers.
So, I have decided whenever I go to Auckland, I must visit Paradise Indian Food and also bring back some food home. I shall always recommended all my friends & family to visit Paradise and try their Biryani and other stuff .Well done,Paradisae, keep the good work.
I love the Paradise mix grill as entree and chicken biryani!
I like the fact all the food I ordered are not covered with oil like cheap Indian take away shop.
I have been to this shop many times and always absolutely love their food :-)
My family and I are quite fussy when it comes to Indian takeaway. Paradise takeaway (we have never eaten in) delivers on taste for sure! You get more than gravy and a few pieces of meat, instead it's decent sized chunks of meat filled to the brim and every dish we have ordered has been delicious (we are now regulars going about once a fortnight).
Be ware though, when they say hot the mean HOT!
My boyfriend and I were looking for a good biryani place in Auckland. After a quick search and a bit of asking around, we decided to try Paradise Indian Food for the first time. When we walked into the restaurant, it was empty, but it quickly became full as more people streamed in. We asked one of the staff whether one biryani could serve two people, and he said we needed to order two (a lie!). My boyfriend ordered a mutton biryani, and I a chicken. The biryani arrived promptly, and it looked, smelled and tasted divine. And each portion was HUGE. One biryani could serve 2-3 people for only $12. We were very impressed with the value for money. I think this place rivals, or even surpasses, the more upmarket Indian restaurants I've tried (e.g. Oh Calcutta). The service, while a little cold, was attentive and prompt.
We have each since been to Paradise twice for takeaways and continue to be impressed with the quality of their biryani. I look forward to visiting the restaurant again, and trying some of their other dishes.
There are so many things I can talk about Paradise, the name itself says it all. It is indeed a Paradise of Indian cuisines.
You will not find such quality anywhere else in New Zealand.
When I asked the owner to open up another branch on North Shore, he said he may not be able to maintain the quality of both places and he can not take the risk of compromising the quality.
I can eat here everyday for the rest of my life and yet won't get bored with the taste.
I have said Subhan Allah on every bite I have taken here!!
I am glad we have Paradise here in Auckland :)
Thank you Paradise for giving such an amazing experience away from home.
RD
My family loves Paradise food. We go there almost every week. Everything on their menu is unique. Their Afghan kebabs are so delicious. Flavors are authentic. Lamb/chicken biriyani is the best in town, meat is so tasty and tender. The aroma from the spices they use in their food literally takes me to paradise. My son loves chicken 65 - fresh coriander n curry leaves adds great flavor to it. Very friendly customer service, lovely staff, great value for money, excellent mouth watering food. Everyone must try. Highly recommended :-)
Great service, great value for money, delicious food! Serves Indian and Indian Chinese food. The Onion Pakora was divine, as was the Chicken Tikka. Totally halal. The place was pretty busy even though it was only Wednesday night, but we still had timely and friendly service. Highly recommended.
Addicted to the food!! Better than back home any-day!! I am there 6 times a week at least .... I tell the owner that he is packing happiness not food:-)
Had a dream that my doctor says there is no guarantee that I shall live after an operation.....I tell the doc please wait ...and call Paradise to order some Biriyani, sounds crazy but this is what the food does to you. So please don't waste any more time, just don't think....go and EAT at the true Paradise.
Great place to eat. Fabulous Indian food, authentic and the service was top notch - my wife and I were recommended this place by an Indian who knows his stuff.
If you are looking for a great meal at a very reasonable price you will not be disappointed as the chef at this place really knows how to cook up a storm!
Good food. Timely service. They could do a lot in the ambience space though. But seriously consider going to this place if you are confused about where to go..I visit there almost 3 times a month.
Excellent food..specially biryani's. I order it every weekend. The fact is most of the Indian restaurants fail to maintain the consistency in their food but PARADISE since I have started going there almost 2 years, their food tastes the same, no up n downs....very good for family dinners...:-)
Went here today with ny friend, nephew and nieces, we really enjoyed the food. The waiter gave me an honest opinion about selections. He saw that I had three children with me, and suggested i buy two plates instead of three. He said that the
Portion sizes are quite big and that two dishes will be sufficient. I really appreciated his honesty because two dishes instead of three, were more than enough for the kids :) staff were friendly not rude, they kindly made allowances for our party and were always on hand whenever there was a need. The best part was the food. The portion sizes were enough. The taste, the texture and the smell was absolutely divine. We cleaned our plates. The kids wanted to kno if we could come again the next day for breakfast lol. We will definately back :) when we want quality Indian grub we know where to go, thank you paradise for a meal divine, great service and honesty, shalom :)
Awesome food, awesome staff, as a first time visitor I was pleasantly surprised especially the ambiance of the place, the friendliness of the staff and the lamb spinach was heavenly, must have been in Paradise. I will certainly recommend this place and visit on a regular basis.
WOW! I love Indian food and have eaten at many Indian restaurants but this has to be one of my favourites! The chicken Tikka Masala was delicious, nice and spicy and would highly recommend the Paneer (vegetarian) dish too. Make sure you book a table because it is very busy. Paradise, please open a restaurant in South Auckland.... I don't want to have to drive all the way to Sandringham for my favourite food :)
I have been here several times this year, I was introduced to this place by a friend and I have not looked back since.
The Afghani chicken is amazing and I always order extra. Their food is delicious and the place is always busy so book if possible because it can be hard to get a table.
I am a True blue hyderabadi...I have been overwhelmed by the quality of the biryani and kebabs...every time I try a new dish I am blown away....keep up the good quality and great service standards....it's the best hyderabadi food overseas....
The ONLY fault with this is the space, it is SO popular because the food is SO amazing, that it's always packed out, so quite crowded. They need to win lotto so they can wipe out the shop beside them and expand. :D The food came quickly and pleasantly. The naan was the best I've had and generous serving of rice with my AMAZIN curry. We also ordered an entree of the onion rings, they were SO tasty, we did ask for a dipping sauce which never came, but didn't bother us too much. Just SUCH good food, definite winner :)
The best restaurant in town, I love it just your quantity is getting lower every day, last year the chicken 65 was so much that we could eat it for dinner as well for the next day. But now there is a lot less, we can only eat it in the dine in and none left over for the next day.
Best biryani and curries in New Zealand...I just keep on coming back! Great ambience, friendly waiting staff.
You don't need to look anywhere else for the best Indian food around. As I'm from the Philippines, I highly recommend Paradise to my fellow countrymen who love Indian food.
My friend recommended me this restaurant, we went here last week, we really liked their food. The customer service was great, I feel it is the best Indian food in Auckland, I will go back with my friend again.
We eat out regularly and I am very impressed with this restaurant. Great customer service, polite and helpful. Delicious foods. Most of all is the price, cheap cheap for quality foods. We definitely will go back again.
Awesome. I would eat here every day if my wife would let me!
We are regulars at Paradise Takeaways and we have tried a few of their dishes which all seem great but it is hard to go past our favorites - Chicken 65 and Manchurian Chicken. Fantastic flavours and great value.
We recommend this place to all our friends and some of them even drive from across town to get their Indian takeaways from here now.
If you love good solid Indian flavours then this place is for you!
Hi guys, I highly recommend this place for all events I placed an order here for my 21st birthday Party and people could not stop complimenting the food it added so much value to my Party! I would definitely recommend everyone to get good for any occasion it's simply so tasty and amazing.
Paradise has the best Indian food I have tasted outside India. And, having lived a foodie's life in the UK, Australia and NZ, I believe that is a very high achievement.
The hustle and bustle, sights and smells, cricket and Bollywood on the TVs, the chefs working away in the kitchen.... Its like a small representation of the subcontinent. Grab a chair, enjoy people-watching and soak in the atmosphere... but not for too long as the service is fairly prompt. Do not expect the staff to fall over backwards - they are insanely busy. But do expect them to be very serious about what they do. The owner Salah, in particular, has the hands-on approach needed to be on the top of the game down to a fine art. From getting stuck in at work to constantly experimenting with his excellent chefs to bring innovative dishes, he does it all.
My biggest regret in moving to Wellington was not being able to eat at Paradise as often as I would like. Nevertheless, I make it a point to go there every time I am in Auckland.
I lead the Sandringham Food & Spice Tour through the village restaurants and Paradise is definitely one of the best that we go to. We have now come visit four times and each time owner Salah is very attentive and describes each of the foods we try. We have tried afghani kebabs, chicken tikka (both made in tandoori) chicken lollypops (weekend special) and of course the delicious desserts such as carrot halwa and kheer. They do not take reservations and they can become very busy most evenings, even on a Tuesday! Be patient, it is worth the wait. Or come try them out for lunchtime in their new Takeaway restaurant next door...
My absolute favorite place to eat anywhere in the Auckland area is Paradise. I discovered it through a friend while living in Auckland in 2012 and quickly became a regular. If you like great Indian food then this is certainly the place to go! Also, because it specializes in a specific region of Indian cuisine, you will more than likely find something totally new to try! If you are new to Indian cuisine, it's a great place to start as they are very helpful in explaining the dishes and letting you know the spice intensity.
I think the most important thing to note about Paradise is that it is consistently great every single time. You will never be disappointed. The only thing I miss more than the amazing friends I made in Auckland is eating with them every week at Paradise.
Sandringham road is full of Indian restaurants, none of which, in my opinion surpasses Paradise for its flavour, variety, variety and exceedingly good service.
Its a gastronomic delight!
The menu is a happy blend of the reassuring and the experimental; with enchanting dishes from all over the sub continent.
The chicken lollypops and Afgani kebab will leave your taste buds watering. The pepper paneer and Lamb Pasanda are mindbogglingly delicious, not to mention the Biryani which is the best I've ever tasted.
I've even been pleasantly surprised by their sweets- Indian cooking isn't exactly famous for its deserts, yet I somehow manage to always find a space for the scrumptious bread pudding. I simply can't leave without having some.
I could write all day, but my mouth is watering... It's simply the best Indian food in Auckland!
Try it for yourself.
Paradise has the best tasting food I've found so far. Their service is very fast and the food is delicious (especially the Biryani and the Chicken Tandoori) The food is very well prepared, very authentic Indian and very tasty and Great authentic atmosphere, wonderful place to dine-in or birthday parties. This restaurant is a very good value for the money, highly recommended.
Not your standard Indian restaurant. Entirely different menu that is amazing. Need to try everything on it. I'm not a vegetarian but the paneer special masala is incredible. Also, give the chicken lollipops a go, you'll never stop eating them. Very comfortable place and fast service too! 5 stars
Its very simple, the biryani at this place is without doubt, the best thing I have ever eaten in an indian restaurant and takeaway. Add some of the mint sauce that comes with every order and you wont be able to see anymore because all your senses have focused to taste and smell. This is one of my favorite meals ever and therefore my favorite indian without question.
Thank you for showing me how food can be served. Salah, you sir are a legend.
Paradise is quite simply a gastronomical delight.
It been a favourite of our family since we discovered it through word-of-mouth, several months ago.
It's bustling, energetic and suitable for both large groups, couples or families. You are made to feel welcome by the team as soon as you walk through the door and the service is excellent.
The food is the best mogul style Indian food I have ever had the pleasure of satiating myself with. Lollipop Chicken, Afghani Kebab and Paneer Masala are just are few of the delectable dishes I love.
Finally the price........ For less than $20 a head we walk out of this restaurant with our food bellies bulging, feeling utterly overindulged.
GO THERE!
Paradise has become a favourite for me and my friends. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The food is incredible and so well priced. I don't feel like I need to recommend any dish in particular as everything I've had from vegetarian dishes to biryani, bhagi to naan have been excellent.
I'd also recommend the new takeaway section of the restaurant. I can't get enough and regularly travel from the North Shore to pick up a meal.
Best Indian restaurant in Auckland and indeed New Zealand!
For one, it's priced cheaply with all mains under $20. Given the quLity of the food, this makes it excellent value for money.
The highlights to try include Chilli Chicken (chicken fried with onion and green chilli in a brown sauce), Manchurian Chicken (chicken with soy sauce and coriander) and Ginger Chicken (a curry with red ginger and spice gravy that goes great with rot).
The Biryani is also very tasty. Cool your mouth with Kheer (Indian milk and rice pudding), a great finish to the meal.
Add to that friendly and helpful staff and you get the true star restaurant of Sandringham and Auckland. Wish the business the best for a fruitful and prosperous future.
This is by far my favourite Indian restaurant! I don't live in Auckland but every time I come up here I make a habit of going to Paradise. Their food is just delicious, every time! I find the staff to be very lovely, and they are very willing to accommodate to any special dietary requests. Every time I have been there it has been absolutely packed and people come in and out every literally all the time, and they are mostly Indian (a great sign). I can't speak highly enough of this place, I just wish we had something like this in Tauranga!
I was amazed to see how this place was crowded with Indians and the people lined up outside the restaurant. The service was not so great, wouldn't harm if the staff could put a smile on the face. We had lamb and special chef chicken curry which were ok, the chef special chicken curry was below average. Later we found out this place is famous for their Biryany and kebabs. Will def come back to try the Biryani :-) There are a couple of Spices Shops on the same street, you must go there and see, those spices shops are amazing.
Wow! This is one of my fav cheat meal places in Auckland. Best biryani in town - simply delish. Also tried the chicken 65 and lamb balti recently and they were both spectacular.
Have heard rave reviews of the weekend specials - can't wait to try it! Keep it up team Paradise :-)
The best Indian food me and my wife have tasted ever.
Been there twice in a few weeks now and will not go anywhere else from now on.also, excellent value with large very tasty servings. Nice and spicy curries, perfect naan and biriyani
Easy parking on the street down side road to,unlike other places in Auckland where parking is near impossible.
I see even the Indian cricket team has dined there.
A brilliant find.
This is by far the most authentic and high quality Indian restaurant in Auckland. I don't go anywhere else for my Indian food now. Afghani Kebab + Chicken Biriyani + Lamb Masala = Happiest man on earth. Fantastic service with a comfortable atmosphere. Keep up the great work and I will continue to come in every week!
No doubt that this is the best Indian restaurant in Auckland!! The food is delicious and my fiance and I are frequent diners. Our favourites are the chilli chicken and their naan bread! So incredibly buttery and fluffy. We've never walked out of Paradise unhappy with our meals!
This is got to the best Indian food place to eat. The Best. Food is awesome. Love this place.
Absolutely love the food at Paradise. I've tried almost all the dishes on the menu and I absolutely adore the Chili Chicken and Chicken 65. I live in the city center and I would go all the way out there just to get my Paradise fix. The portions are value for money and it is by far the best Indian food I've tasted here in NZ.
Been searching for the perfect Indian restaurant from kaitaia to bluff in invercargill. I've tried few of them but I can't find the real indian taste like the ones I've patronaged when I was still living in Dubai. My friend/colleague from Kerala told me about Paradise. Men, I thought I found kerala and Dubai in Sandringham. The dishes are not made for the kiwi tongue (as most indian resto in NZ, sweet and nothing but sweet briyani...yuck!), but Paradise has that natural indian taste, reasonable price and excellent staff and patrons. It's superb, totally highly recommended. I don't mind travelling several kilometers to come to Sandringham...it's worth it with Paradise resto.
This place may just overtake Top in Town's reputation as the best and cheapest Indian food ever. Loved the briyani rice, the curry was flavourful, the onion bhaji tasty and mango lassi heavenly. You can also eat there (apart from takeaway) - and the friendly service is just unexpected! :) Thumbs up!
Best Indian in Auckland! I have eaten at more than a few and this place is by far the tastiest. Excellent prices too.
The Lamb Biryani is unbelievably delicious, ultra tender and moist and if you are into your Vindaloo's their beef Vindaloo is perfect. We have eaten here once a week for the last 2 month's and have yet to experience any thing worth complaining about. Fast friendly service.
Go there for the biriyani. That's the best. Affordable, neat and clean, place for friends and families alike.

I was introduced to this place by an Indian who knows his curries. At first I was hesitant because Indian food is not a preferred cuisine in my country and no dish prove me wrong until I came to eat in Paradise. The food is just divine and unpretentious. The menu is just simple and affordable. I've had Chicken & Mutton Biryani, Cheesy & Garlic Naans and I swear I'll try more if I ever grew tired of ordering these. The place is fine but they can do better with the interior but as I say this place is unpretentious. They are just doing what they love (food and cricket). They may need to open another branch though.
We haven't dined in yet - restaurant always seems packed. But we have phoned takeaway orders through and collected. Order is always ready and well packaged when i arrive to collect. Very efficient. And the food is excellent! Highly recommend for a tasty takeout! The lamb shish kebab are so tasty! I have suspicions that the dine in experience might not be so great just because it looks too busy!
Went twice..had dum biryani both the times...enjoyed it..good treat....

Paradise Indian Food is a popular place. I don't think it's because of the cricket memorabilia decorating the walls; I’m guessing Wasim Akram is someone really, REALLY famous in the cricketing world. It could be the intriguing Indian-Chinese dishes (Chicken Manchurian anyone?), or the uber efficient, prompt service. But it’s most likely the excellent Hyderabadi food.
Paradise is great for a quick lunch; there is a good range of their most popular dishes ready to serve, with their mesmerisingly brilliant hues.. Anything not on display is a quick 5-10 minutes away. Our dishes came out one at a time as they were cooked which was a great delight every time a new dish was served.
We started with a mixed platter ($15) of various tandoor cooked meats with a refreshing raita; I had a piece of smokey delicious tandoori chicken. The naan bread were light and nicely charred. I really enjoyed the dum ka gosht ($12), which is lamb (gosht) on the bone, marinated with yoghurt and spices and cooked in dum style (steaming over coals). The lamb was perfectly tender, and the savoury sauce was heady with fragrant spices.
The Paradise special paneer masala ($14) is cottage cheese and green pepper cooked in cashew and saffron sauce. This is another excellent dish, the cheese has a great chewy texture, somewhere between a halloumi and a mozzarella, and the smooth nutty sauce is delicious.

At last an Indian restaurant with some Indian flavour to it. Good food and an ok ambiance for dining.
Always a treat to dine at Paradise. There are a variety of dishes for you to choose. We always ended up eating too much. The chicken tasted much better than those from a food court with authentic material.
Food was great as always. Didn't wait to be seated despite appearing at 7pm without a reservation, as it wasn't packed with customers. Food arrived after more than 40mins of wait. Not surprisingly as we were there during peak hour, it would have just been better if they inform customers before hand. Being in the business for a long time now, we expected better service. The restaurant atmosphere could be better. It was a bit smelly and feels dirty. We were seated near the toilet/storage area.
Despite the extended waiting times, the patience was truly worth it for the delightful experience we had with the chicken tikka gravy and garlic naan. The flavors of the dish were rich and authentic, and the tenderness of the chicken was impressive. The garlic naan was perfectly cooked, with a satisfying blend of softness and crispness. While the wait might have been lengthy, the delicious meal definitely made up for it, leaving us craving for more despite the initial delay.
GREAT FOOD . BUT THE FOOD WASNT ON TIME!
THE PEOPLE WHO WORKED ON THAT SHIFT WERE TIRED OF THEIR JOB!
BUT I DONT BLAME THEM AND I HIGHLY RESPECT THE PEOPLE WHO PREPARED THE FOOD!
WILL I VISIT AGAIN? YES
DO I RECOMMEND OTHER? MAYBE
Long time ago since i ate here. Nothing has changed the food is superb as it used to be.
Great restaurant for to have a beautiful meal.
Our favourite Indian restaurant in town. Keep ordering Chicken Tikka, chicken lollipops, which are must haves. The naan as always soft and tasty. Will keep coming back because of their food! Authentic experience ✨
We were 20 of us for a work dinner, the staff went out of their way to accomidate all of us.
We were from 8 different countries and cultures but all of us enjoyed and relished every meal we had ordered.
Planning to come back.
Paradise is my favourite Indian restaurant for past 14 + years never disappointed.
Lovely place. Great food. Variety of dishes
We got sitting outside , which was wonderful experience and Ayushi was the star for tonight. She suggested us best food and served us well. Hope to see you soon guys. Food was awesome next time will try biryani. 🫡🫡🫡😇
Finally I was here for the first time, the famous and legendary Paradise!
Heard heaps of how good it is. Also I've been eating their meal boxes from dairy a while so it was a total excitement to me to be able to dine in, finally.
From starter, to the main to the drink, I enjoyed the entire process a lot. Nice design eating environment, good service even it's a Tuesday evening it's still packed.
To be honest it's not a cheap Indian dining place, but it's definitely the iconic shop along Sandringham.
Great taste. Spinach Curry had great flavour and the garlic naan was warm and oily in a good way. If you want your taste buds tested, do order extra hot as it's not even that hot. Would be better if they allowed you to pay last rather than pay first at counter, since their food is good quality restaurant food and pay-first is usually for cheap eats rather than pro restaurants. That is to say, the food is too good to be pay-first!
Excellent Dum Biryani! Aubergines are sublime. I always leave satisfied. Service is prompt and attentive. Location at the turn in the road is a bit hazardous but happy to risk my life crossing the road for a taste of their food!
One of the best restaurants in Auckland. Didn't have to wait long for food. The service was commendable. The seating arrangement and the environment were also praiseworthy. Last but not least, food prices were just within reach. Highly recommended for food lovers. 👌
The best ever Indian restaurant in Auckland hands down! Friendly staff with quick and efficient service. If you're dining in with a large group then make sure you have the whole group together as they don't hold seats or have a waiting area. Love their food and highly recommend to anyone who wants to try scrumptious authentic Indian food!
Wonderful food. Very tasty.
Price are little higher but the quality and quantity are perfect.
Very good restaurant. The food is spot on and the helping size is good. One entrée can serve 2 people. The meat could be less bhunna is my only suggestion.
The maitre de was extremely helpful and considerate. They are short staffed these days but the staff know what they are doing. It was a pleasure eating there.
Just had company dinner and the food are within the reasonable prices and so delicious! I'm a very picky eater when it comes to Indian food and this hits the spot!
