Food is always great, fast service and plenty of dogs!
Wanted a final brunch before lockdown so went to this busy cafe on Mt Eden road. The staff are super friendly and the space was actually really big, they have Kapiti ice cream too.
We ordered the Orvieto Benedict (replaces the bread with potato hash) and creamy mushrooms because I’ve been craving them forever. The portions are decent and tastes good too! One thing I didn’t like was the potato hash that seemed overly fried and when it cools, it has that stale texture. Mushrooms were well cooked, sauce was good!
Great place, fast and efficient. Often crowded which is a good sign. Recommend the mushrooms on toast with bacon. Yum! Over all good experience
Good local spot. Been here for a long time....it’s nice to have a consistent local.
Some very good dishes - especially the signature potatoe hash cakes....Orvieto Benedict.
Some cabinet food available as well. 👍🏼
Some great service and delicious food here! The staff are lovely and very polite. They offer instagram-worthy food that looks and tastes the part. I definitely recommend eating here!
I admit to having a preference for Allpress Coffee and the the barista here doesn't disappoint. Been here on several occasions and their coffee is consistent.
I arrived at Orvieto on Mother's Day (last Sunday) after a bit of a disaster with another cafe booking. It is one of my favourite local cafes and I hoped that they might be able to host us instead without a booking. Kent one of the staff when I made my request was immediately accomodating and welcoming, organising a table for 8. When my party had arrived Kent also very kindly arranged table service as we had three children aged 8 months, 4 yrs, 7 yrs and their very tired mum with us. The food and coffee arrived quickly and all was delicious. My father who is very discerning about what he eats was very taken with his eggs benedict (the hash cakes were a big hit) and the children ate all their meals and pronounced them delicious. There is good reason this cafe is a little gem in the Mt Eden/Three Kings area. Very impressed with both service and food on this visit. Well done Orvieto - bravo.
Good coffee (my choice is always long black with a dash of cream) to grab on the run (I work locally). The cinnamon buns, so fresh and airy - be sure to get it toasted. That warm buzz gives a great high! I’ve had the pasta salad a few times for an easy take out lunch too, tasty. Maybe add some cheese tho team ;-) I’ll be back to try out more of the menu for sure.
Best hashbrowns in Auckland! If not getting the Orvieto Hashbrown breakfast make sure you get them added as extras to your meal. Can usually park close by. Prices are fairly typical for Auckland.
We went for brunch. My partner wanted a meal made from the sides menu. They were only too willing to help. Friendly staff and fast service, and the food was hot to the end of the meal.
This cafe is amazing, tucked away on Mt eden road with plenty of parking on the street. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is always delicious and fresh. The Orvieto bene is great!! The scallop and pancetta salad is my favourite though. Real value for money on all their meals
Would recommend this cafe to everyone.
I've been here a few times with my family and the food is consistently good. The place is always full which speaks volumes about how they've become a hub for the locals. Food wise, big breakfast is always the go and they didn't disappoint. Coffee was great and the service was fast and with a smile. Good for that lazy weekend brunch.
Absolutely awesome environment. We had Benedict orvieto and soup.
Really friendly and polite staff, loved the food, loved the service. And the coffee was top notch!!
Only usually come for coffee which is really good. They get it done fast but right which is what you want. I can say however that their hasbrowns are to die for.
Came in for brunch today.
The hot chocolate was amazing, I could really taste a lot of chocolate. Marshmallows were a good size, perfect to mix in or have as a snack. Homemade hashbrowns were crispy and soft on the inside. Bacon was a bit too crispy. Cinnamon brioche was sweet and absolutely delicious. Hot cross buns were extremely soft. Would come again to try more cabinet food!
This cafe is right next to the bus stop I had to take everyday to uni, so I would pop in often to just grab a coffee.
The first time I actually came inside to dine in, I ordered the steak sandwich it was pretty filling! The steak was really well done. The fries were great too!
The waitresses were super nice and friendly!
We have been customers of Orvieto since it opened around 16 years ago! it has always been hugely popular and recently changed hands. We were glad to hear the new management intended to keep the status quo, however, they closed over the Christmas period to carry out some maintenance and upon reopening have in fact made some changes. The coffee (Allpress) is still excellent and the food, although lacking in savoury snacks is still good but unfortunately the atmosphere has been ruined by the presence of loud music, we sat outside and all we could hear was the thump of base and people having to talk loudly over this, This is a daytime cafe where people come to meet and chat and low background music is all that should be present here. Also (in my opinion) the addition of so many lights makes it look rather cheap and a little seedy especially as mentioned before being a daytime venue.
Awesome service and busy fun atmosphere. Great allpress coffee and yummy food. Thanks so much team. I was in a bit of a rush and was super pleased the service was also quick.
Located on the quieter area of Mt Eden road, Orvieto was just about full to the brim on a Sunday at midday. Parking was easier than finding a table! You have to place your order and pay first, which most new diners would not be aware of. We missed being greeted when walking into the café and notified of their system.
Their menu is pretty safe and features all the usual breakfast and lunch classics. We both ordered the Orvieto bene swapping the bacon out for mushrooms. What seemed like a simple swap took longer than expected with the lady that took our order but we got there in the end. Both dishes were simple but well-presented. We both agreed the portion size was just right for the dish. The eggs were cooked well and we liked the homemade hashbrowns. I would’ve liked more mushrooms in the dish though. The coffee was Allpress and was done well!
Overall a great café for the area with a relaxed atmosphere. Although there may be a wait to order your meals, the serving time isn’t long, about 10 - 15 minutes which was great.
LOVE Orvieto! The food comes out within minutes after ordering (7minutes to be precise) even though it was super busy! The homemade hash browns are amazing and the fresh carrot, Apple and orange juice is super yummy. Deffinatly recommend this place. Lovely staff and always delicious food
I ordered the Orvieto Bene. The hash brown was a bit too crispy for me. But then again, maybe that was the effect they were going for as it was very hard to cut through with my knife. The poached eggs were barely poached. When they were poked with the fork the yolk didn't run down the egg and plate as poached eggs are meant too. I feel as though they left them in the pan longer than expected as the yolk did not run. Rather the yolk was just bright orange and looked as though it was a soft boiled egg, rather than poached. It tasted nice though, I was just disappointed that the eggs were not poached as a Benedict meal should be.
I also ordered the vanilla milkshake. That was yum. Nice, creamy, sweet and very refreshing to have on the hot day we went on.
I think what I loved best about my experience though is that we didn't have to wait long for our meal. It was roughly about 10 minutes wait only.
Thanks Orvieto.
Sunday brunch. We ordered the eggs benedict with spinach bacon & avocado, mushrooms. Steak ciabatta sandwich with chips. They were busy, my flatwhite was lukewarm and nearly finished by the time egg benedict arrived disappointed as prefer to have with my food plus one of my egg was cold. My boy loved the steak and chips.
Orvieto is my new go to for a quick brunch on the weekends. Have been here about 6 times and always happy with the food. The salmon bagel is beautiful so I only ever get that now, but my girlfriend has tried a lot of the menu and always raves about it. The food comes out super quick and the service is good enough.
Ordered two large cappuccinos and a lemon slice for my morning tea today. The coffee I had was quite nice, way better than franchise coffee shops such as Coffee Club, Gloria Jeans, etc in my opinion. The lemon slice was absolutely to die for! It had bits of shredded coconut, and it wasn't sweet at all. I've heard great things about their pasta, so I might come back to try that. Service was efficient and the staff were friendly.Very satisfied!
Nice place. Quick service. Clean, neat and tidy. Had the eggs Benedict with avocado bacon shrooms and spinach. It was good. Had a bucket of coffee with no handles. It was good. Nice people. Did I mention the quick service?
This place is a firm favourite of my entire family. We love the atmosphere the staff and the food. I go between the hash browns and corn fritters, hubby loves the egg benes and kids mix it up every time. Coffee is always on point which is a definite bonus.
Went for lunch today, had a very nice off-the-bone ham sandwich, toasted and served with salad and chutney. Sandwich was excellent, salad was nice and fresh although the dressing was very sweet with no zing of lemon or vinegar. Flat white good, food and coffee arrived very fast and service was friendly. Extra points for the lovely waitress who sprinted half way down the road after me to bring me the sunglasses I'd forgotten! Also a great place to spot dogs as the outside tables are a favourite with dog walkers - and they always seem well-behaved.
Was around the area yesterday so decided to give this place a go since they have pretty good reviews. I got the Orvieto bene and partner got the big breakfast. He enjoyed his big breakfast, little complain about how tough the toast was but he still managed to eat it. The bene the other hand was a little disappointing, i was expecting the egg on top to be poached as most egg bene comes with paoched eggs. Maybe next time i'll let them know i would like my eggs poached, the spinach was blanched perfectly and the homemade hasbbrown has lots of flavor to it. However the hashbrown was so oily, my stomach couldnt take it anymore. When i cut into the hash brown or put some pressure on it, i could see the oil seeping through.
A nice place to eat on lazy sunday's! Coffee was great and so was the Bruschetta! Definitely a thumbs up for all the foodies.. Creamy mushrooms were good as well but don't go for poached eggs! Were not the best of their kind. Overall a yes for this place!
When I need the hash brown fix this is my go to place, never disappointed. Cannot believe how quick the service is considering it never seems to be quiet. One of the best brunch places.
Orvieto is a great brunch spot. Everything I've tried on the menu so far has been delicious (the corn fritters and hotcakes especially were just excellent) and the portion sizes are great. Service is quick and they can easily handle large groups. The fries are fantastic, the decor is nice, the staff are pleasant and the coffee is great. It's also quite reasonably priced for an Auckland brunch spot!
I'm looking forward to going back and trying the food in the cabinet.
Orvieto has to be one of my favourite cafes to go to. I went there for afternoon tea with my parents and ordered a small hot chocolate and the lemon slice. My parents both ordered cappuccinos and the things we ordered were delivered promptly. I loved the service they provide and the lemon slice was utterly superb and the hot chocolate itself reminded me of what childhood was really like: marshallow, chocolate fish and rainbow sprinkles. The meal itself made my day which is why I rate Orvieto a 5.
The food is decent but the coffee is amazing!!!
Go there to have a coffee for years never once let me down and the waitress over there is beautiful as well
Visited for Fathers Day breakfast. Ample staff, very quick service (meals and drinks). Friendly staff. Food was generally excellent, scrambled eggs was cold which was disappointing. Kids hot cakes too sophisticated for kids..
We will definitely be back - thank you!
I came here on a weekday, so it was relatively quiet, although it was very sunny so all the outdoor tables (which are drenched in sunshine) were taken. Luckily, it wasn't too long before one freed up. I ordered the eggs benedict, while my friend ordered the pancakes, along with coffees for us both. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, perfect for catching up with friends and enjoying the sun. The meals came out on big plates and were of a decent size. The eggs benedict was well done, although I wish the bread was a little less crispy (minor issue though - it was delicious). Overall, a really nice experience that definitely puts Orvieto on the regulars list.
Great food! Tasty and well presented! Good ambience and wonderful customer service skills!
My bacon was slightly overcooked but I can hardly complain, I still finished it off.
We have never had a bad meal here! The service is still quite fast considering how amazingly busy it gets in the weekends. The eggs benedict on the potato rosti, buttermilk pancakes and scallop salad are all highly recommended. The café is super dog friendly with big water bowl outside and the three kings dog park very close by. Costs about $40-50 for two people for 2 meals and 2 drinks.
Just awesome; the service, the coffee, the food! The place is very busy however we got our coffees fast and the food followed soon after. Every item on the dish were equally flavoursome.
Despite the large crowds and the likely chances of having to wait for your seat, this is a great place to spend weekend brunch.
The Home Made Hash Browns are really scrumptious. Crispy on the outside and soft and hot on the inside - just like how a good hash brown should be. I definitely recommend that you should order this, if you dine here.
The Eggs Benedict, with the flavourful bacon and spinach was good too, and the Power Breakfast was also tasty - with its moist sausages, oozing poached eggs and crispy bacon. #Challenge
This is my local, have been coming here for years! Fast service and always guaranteed a good meal here! Orvieto is always packed - very popular. Good indoor and outdoor seating. Great for morning coffee as also a dog friendly cafe.
Nice food with some delicious desserts. Poached eggs are either over our underdone in my experience. Pleasant service. The number of children and dogs was excessive as it often is.
Brunch here was amazing. It was almost fully packed but managed to find seating for our group of 5 nonetheless. Orvieto is famous for their different styles of eggs but eggs benedict in particular. I wish I stuck with that decision as the mushrooms on ciabatta were too creamy and rich for me. Or the hotcakes as my friend next to me ordered were delicious! Quite pricey but fast service and generous helpings.
Temptation Cakes Auckland
+5
This place never fails to impress speed wize even when packed so so fast....great food only been in for breakfast but do a great power breakfast and the hashbrowns meal is also to die for a clean plate every time at Orvieto!!
Well done guys keep up the amazing work.
This place will go down in history for it's legendary hashbrowns. Golden cakes of shredded potato cooked to optimum crunchiness.
Their signature dish is having your eggs benedict served piled high on top of these masterpieces of brunchy goodness.
This time I had come for lunch and had the chicken and bacon sandwich. Definitely ample bacon but lacking a little bit in the other ingredients. That's my only gripe and it's just minor. I also can't leave this place without ordering an ice chocolate which comes packed with chocolatey flavour, it makes my mouth water just thinking of it!
I have been here many times for the last four years and their service and food have remained consistent. Even if the place is packed, you're still likely to get your food within 10 minutes. I have no idea how they do it!
This place will always remain on the top of places to brunch in the area as I have never left disappointed.
My family's go-to brunch stop. The workers there are alway friendly! :)The meals there are always spot on and well presented, coffee is perfect! The previous reviews says it all! :)
Have been going here since I was 15 with family and friends. It never disappoints, food is fast, coffee is always on point and the portions are always more than enough. The owners are always happy to see you and the staff always seem to be happy to be there. Only problem it's always packed.
Have always been meaning to go to Orvieto and finally I quickly run in for a long black! Yknow for an all press coffee, Orvieto is the shit!! Kudos points to you man!
I love this cafe! Really friendly staff and owners, dog friendly, amazing food (I had the salmon with Israeli couscous and it was cooked perfectly), delicious coffee and my daughter loved the fluffy. Will come back here whenever I am around the area!
My wife had food envy!
Orvieto located in Three Kings is a well presented and laid out cafe with plenty of seating inside and out.
Their menu has a wide selection of well priced food items and their staff service is fast and friendly.
The people behind this cafe clearly know what they are doing as the food that both my wife and I ordered was fresh, generously portioned and most importantly, tasted amazing.
I ordered the Orvieto hashbrown which got a lot of patrons who were dining around the same time as us curious. (Needless to say I saw another three orders of the Orvieto hashbrown come out from the kitchen.)
Orvieto is baby friendly and do have a menu for the kiddies.
Rating out of 5 (5 being the highest):

My regular place for some coffees and brekkie since last few years!!! What I love about this cafè is their consistency. Would recommend their kiwi big breakfast and the French toast... They are to die for ?
One of the best brunches I have had till date ! Coffees were fabulous. i was surprised at the quality of the food being served! Just amazing:)
One of my favourite places for brunch/breakfast by far!
If you are a eggs bene fan you have to order the orvieto bene! It is so good you can't go to orvieto and not try it! Home made hash browns with avocado, spinach, bacon, egg & hollandaise sauce. Whenever I go there I have to get that! Other favourites from there that I have tried have to be the hotcakes & the corn fritters.
Love their vanilla milkshakes! Tastes like real vanilla bean, doesn't taste fake like other places!
If your in the area you have to check this place out or if not it is worth the drive :)
This is a lovely cafe adored by locals and which has surprisingly kept up its quality for years.
On a recent visit after probably two years of not having the opportunity to pop by, I was still just as happy with my experience. The mochas are excellent and of a decent size so if you're in need of a coffee fix this is great. Not to mention they're so pretty and come with marshmallows! It was a great mocha. I've heard they also do flat whites very well.
The food was also excellent. I opted for the pasta of the day, which was cheesy penne with mushroom and ham and a crispy salad and grated bits of cheese. It was larger than I expected in size, and there was a lot of cheese. The penne was al dente, and the mushrooms were excellently cooked, so I feel like I couldn't have asked for anything more.
They always seem super busy, but staff are very friendly and if you need to catch one's attention it's relatively easy. Otherwise, they don't bother you much, which is perfect for meetings at a cafe when you don't really want to be interrupted by a keen waiter.
It's a little on the pricier side, and they don't open in the evenings, but Orvieto is a great quality cafe to impress fellow foodies.
I came here for breakfast after seeing some good reviews and I was pretty happy with the experience overall.
We ordered 2 hot chocolates, the hash brown stack and the scrambled eggs and bacon with a side of mushrooms. The drinks and food came so fast despite a fairly busy morning, so we were very impressed. Both meals were a generous portion and were very tasty.
The only slight drawback is that it is a bit on the pricey side for a cafe breakfast, but it won't stop me from returning.
Yum! The orve bene is really good! Service was quick and friendly.
Been here quite a few times and probably one of my favourite cafes. Loved the eggs bene, bacon and salmon. Spanish omelette, orvo bene and hash browns are also my faves. Probably best or share the orvo bene as it's quite big. All press coffee bean - consistently good every time I've had it. Pay at the counter service, meals come out relatively quick and good coffee. People that work there are friendly.
Went to Orvieto for breakfast at 8am on a weekday morning with a large group of 16. Orvieto is always packed when I go past and today was no different. Even though the cafe was packed, the staff were attentive and extremely friendly even taking some time out to take photos of the group. I ordered the french toast which was delicious! Others in the group also enjoyed their meals. I was a bit apprehensive about this place originally because of the price which is slightly on the expensive side but the portion sizes compensated.
Very much enjoyed my time at this cafe, and definitely will be back again.
Happy as larry. Very busy but still friendly service and wowowow food out in less than 5 mins! Top notch. Power breakfast big is good. If you like hash browns, they do them very well here.
The perfect brunch place. Situated on Mt Eden Road Orvieto, is the ideal place to go for a catch up with the girls or breakfast with the other half. The busy atmosphere and fast service adds a bit extra to the Orvieto experience. I ordered the spinach and salmon eggs bene with mushroom sides and it was perfect as usual. Can't wait to go again :)
Delicious brunch today and exceptional service. Thanks for offering a side of your yummy hash browns when you realised one of our party had mistakenly ordered the wrong eggs bene. Good coffee too. We'll be back.
Orvieto Cafe is my favorite cafe in Auckland. The service is fast and the food fantastic. The hash browns are the best!! I have many breakfast meetings there and have never been let down by the food or friendly fast service. Totally recommend. When I'm not working I still drive there and I live on the North Shore.
Orvieto Cafe is a no-brainer for me and my husband. If we're in the vicinity and want a cafe, we always head for this place. Had lunch there yesterday and it was as good as always - food, coffee; staff were great, and we love the way they treat the dogs of guests (at outdoor tables, of course). I think the man who owns the place is called Michael, and he's always very friendly to us.
Thought I'd drop a line because this is my favourite café in Auckland.
The coffee here is A1. The staff are friendly but not over the top. Great if you have a dog and want to walk it up big king behind the café (off leash walk) and then park the dog beside a water bowl outside the café afterwards.
Orvieto Hash - sublime. Best French toast ever - no exceptions. Bacon and egg baps behind the counter are delish if you are in a hurry. Someone had a moan about the 'Asian' barista. He's the best barista in Auckland (in my opinion) I used to go to 'next door' on Mt Eden road for his coffee, but Orvieto snaffled him! Great work!! He is quick, but coffee should be quick. You press it - you serve it! Can't stand waiting for coffee while it gets cold.
Can't be faulted. Weekends are busy, but food still comes quick and consistent.
Love this cafe. Been going since they opened. Like the relaxed feel and comfortable seating, inside and outside. Friendly helpful owners and staff. Dog friendly outside is great and like seeing the cute pups and dogs. Lots of newspapers to read and plenty of iced fruited water. Not too noisy so conversation is easy. Scallop Salad and moccacino was excellent and prompt. Time slips away easily. No pressure to clear the table, even though weekends are quite busy. Overall enjoyable excellent dining. Highly recommended for singles or groups.
We come over from England for three month each year and always have Sunday Breakfast at Orvieto's even though it's several K from where we stay.
The food is great, coffee wonderful and the staff are exceptional.
No wonder this cafe is so successful as the owners have a watchful and attentive eye on their customers and staff. With that kind of attention to detail they just can't fail. Keep up the good work guys and see you all on Sunday.
What makes a good cafe you may ask?
Great Coffee and always having a Daily Paper available to read.
If you want great service look no further.
I always get my latte in under 3 minutes! The coffee is always good AND they ALWAYS have loads of Daily Heralds to read, and fresh water to drink.
OK, hands down, this is one of the best cafes in Auckland.
I'm gutted that my friends no longer live in the area, and I cannot drop by on Sunday mornings for eggs benny and a latte.
Love this place.
I ordered the caramel slice and a hot chocolate. One of the best caramel slices that I have ever tasted. great atmosphere and waiters are always friendly. I highly recommend this cafe because of the service and food.
We drive from the North Shore to go to this Café . It is the best !. It is consistently outstanding . For a very busy café the service is excellent with food and coffee appearing in good time even at the busiest times . The food is innovative and delicious . Orvieto has a good atmosphere and the owners are very friendly and are always ensuring that things are going smoothly . You won't do better in Auckland
Amazing service here, food is always out in remarkable time. Everything is always really consistent. The coffee is great and the same everytime. I love the Ceasar Salad and the Big Breakfast. Great cafe!!
Always stopping here for take away coffee. Consistently good. The manager remembers my order even if I haven't been there for a while. Only ever had a snack here but always fresh and tasty. It's always busy here which says it all. Recommended.
I have been going here for well over 5 years. Every time I go here, its 10/10.
The owners are very friendly and welcome every customer in. This by far has to be one of the most consistent cafes in auckland - in my opinion.
Food and coffee are always consistent. Never had any problems at this place - NEVER.
My favourites - eggs bene, big breaky (best hash browns!), macadamia slice, raspberry white choc slice.)
I would go as far to say that in my opinion Ovieto is possibly "the" best cafe in Auckland. Why? First of all the food tastes amazing and is presented impeccably. I have tried a number of things on the menu over the years and love their eggs bene served on those fabulous homemade hash browns as well as the chicken and mango salad that is another personal favorite! The quality of the food and service has managed to impress me without fail on every visit to Orvieto.
I also love the fact that the café is dog friendly and there are always a few cute pups outside waiting while their owners enjoy a coffee.
Great food, great coffee, friendly atmosphere – every time, I highly recommend!
Fast friendly service have been coming here for years absolutely one of the best cafe's in Auckland !! Defiantly recommend and the best dish is the chicken & bacon sandwich so beautiful, can be very busy on the weekend but is very worth the short wait
Go here all the time. Service is excellent. The waiters are polite and the speed the food is served is second to none. All the dishes I have tried have also been great with the chicken bacon sandwich with chips being a personal favourite. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who hasn't already been.
Only been here for takeaway coffee, but have had a good experience every time. Coffee is quick and very well made, one of the only places that can make a soy cappuccino without it having the consistency of a flat white. Went there this morning and they weren't officially open, but still made my takeaway. Thanks for the good service and excellent coffee! Must come eat here one day.
We eat out at lots of cafes and both work in Hospitality. Really loved Orvieto. Friendly service, food looked great, tasted amazing and great potions. Cabinet looked full and had lots of sweet treats. The only thing I would have liked to see is table service and menus. But still 10/10
Great cafe, lovely owners and great waiters, food and coffee is excellent. Have been going there for six years and recently it has improved - the serving sizes are very good, the food is good quality and it is fairly priced for Mt Eden. We had the spanish omelette and a salad and the salad was big enough for me to take some home too. Service is quick. The place is dog friendly and have ample space outside for dogs plus water bowls.
I have been for breakfast and lunch in the last two weeks. The coffee is good and my eggs on toast were will presented and tasted great.
When I called in for lunch the service was fantastic and I was presented my lunch in a takeaway brown bag.
Even tho the pepper and salt shakers are past their used by date it is a place will worth a stop. Parking at the door.
We like to try a different cafe most Sundays for breakfast but sometimes end up with unpleasant experiences. That's when we head back to Orvieto. Great food and excellent service. The owner is always on the floor making sure everyone is OK. Their eggs and bacon with slow roasted tomatoes are beautiful and they will do a half serve for which I am very grateful. It's amazing the number of cafes who will not deviate from menu when it's a simple change to make a customer happy. A strong doggie brigade in the outside eating area and bowls provided for the thirsty ones ( dogs, that is). Have also seen them run coffee out to cars presumably from a phone order or someone in a rush. On one occasion my bacon was missing from the plate - we mentioned it and the owner brought out an enormous plate very quickly. It turned out we had not been charged for it originally and although we insisted on paying he made it complementary. Excellent service.
I LOVE THIS CAFE...The food is just so damn good. easy to find a park. Nice and chilled out atmosphere, would give any cafe in ponsonby or parnell a real run for its money. I cant recommend this place enough. I try and get there as much as possible as no where i have been in auckland comes close.
My Wife, daughter and i love Cafe breakfasts we drive 30 min to dine at Orvieto. We have tried many other cafes together but stopped the search a few years ago, nothing comes close to this place. Great food good coffee and service.I use it for work meetings now. Rates in my top 5 for both sides of the Tasman.
This is honestly the best cafe in Central Auckland...
I go here constantly with my boyfriend, and it's always amazing. Beautiful premises, comfy seats, cool artwork, plenty of parking, free mint/lemon water...
AND THE FOOD. Oh my God. I'd heard they were famous for their hashbrowns but wow. I tried them for the first time today and almost died. I WILL be back, weekly (at LEAST) if my finances allow.
Also great coffee, delicious smoothies and my boyfriend can absolutely not get enough of the French Toast. Can't wait for my next visit, my mouth is already watering in anticipation.
Awesome french toast, best mocha frappe I've had in ages! Dog friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the service is good too.
This has got to be one of the best cafes in Auckland. We used to live locally, but still drive over here from our new neighbourhood to come to this brilliant cafe. Fast and friendly service, excellent food and coffee with really reasonable prices for somewhere close to Mt Eden. Also, the fact that it's dog friendly is really great too - keep up the excellent work team and see you at the weekend.
best cafe...best coffee... best service... best area... best parking.. and dog friendly!
Definitely rate this place! Service is really good, meals came out in 5 mins and really nice! Quite a busy place but lots of tables! Recommend the power breakfast - creamy mushrooms are amazing!
I've been to Orvieto Cafe a few times now and the service is always great. Most of the time the food is too! Every time I go here I always get the the Orvieto Bene (to feed my Eggs Benedict addiction). It's poached eggs with bacon or salmon, spinach, avocado and hollandaise sauce on top of their famous hash browns. This time that I had it, it was pretty good - it would have been perfect if one of the eggs wasn't overcooked. It's definitely a lot to eat though, especially considering how massive the hash browns are!
My work mate didn't have such a good experience. He ordered the Chicken Sandwich with fries and unfortunately it didn't deliver. The dish looked really sad and the sandwich hardly had anything in it. My other colleagues ordered poached eggs on toast and said it was ok - I guess everyone likes their poached eggs done differently! I did find it weird that they served the eggs under the toast though (is this a new cafe trend?).
We made up for the disappointing burger with some dessert. We tried the snickers cheesecake and apricot & macadamia slice which were both yummy. I didn't try any of the coffees this time but from what I saw around the table, there were no complaints!
If you do go here, I recommend the Orvieto Bene - it's a hit! I did feel like I had a food coma afterwards though - I probably shouldn't have had the sweets after a big meal!
Consistent delivery, only downside is same menu for a while now. Spanish eggs , no cheese are my go to meal here. The owners have a winning formula, and stick to it. Always seems to be lots of people to clear tables. Always busy even on weekdays when you think it should be quieter. Consistently great. Great coffee. Service is quick but not rushed. Highly recommended no matter what time of day you want a meal. Mix of table sizes, both inside and outside on the footpath
We're lucky this great cafe is within walking distance of home, so a Sunday morning stroll often ends up with brunch here. The service is very friendly and very fast - you won't have to wait long for your coffee or meal even when they're full. Open for breakfast brunch and lunch, the menu doesn't change much here. The portions are very generous and the dishes are nicely presented.
