We were here on Father’s Day at around 11am, fairly busy but they had a few tables left which was a relief. Was tossin up between Cozy cafe or Luscious cafe (along the same street).
So glad we came to Cozy instead! The photos in the reviews does not do it justice! Portion size are perfect , fast service, friendly staff and reasonable pricing. Coffee could have been abit hotter as it got cold very quick. Would totally return and recommend 👍 I had the eggs big Benny

Writing a review means I've gone out of my way to do this. Great place, great food, highly recommended. Communication was slightly scratchy but I'm only saying this to complete my 140 character requirement. It's easily fixable as they had good intentions with their service, which was well displayed throughout the whole dining experience.

Not my local area but make the drive for a decent Allpress coffee which is always consistent and not over priced. Their breakfast menu is straightforward and great value.
The food was delicious, came quickly and was so cheap for the amount of food on the plate! Photos below show the Vegetables Grill, a flat white and a hot chocolate. Staff were super friendly. Couldn't have asked for a better deal.

A nice busy cafe just a block away from onehunga mall. Verrrry reasonable pricing, compared to similar ones in the cbd or northshore! We had the chicken salad $14.9 & calamari salad $13.9 with beetroot lattes $4.5ea. Tasty lunch for two people for just $37.80.
Portions were just the right amount. The chicken salad was good. The chicken was well seasoned but feels like it needed some kind of extra sauce or dressing on top? Maybe its just my personal preference.. Beetroot latte was nice too but the cinnamon was a lil bit too strong that it overpowered the beetroot flavours.
We saw what other people ordered and the eggs bene looked pretty good, so will definitely come back to try them next time!

Dined in for brunch here with Kay Vea. Wait staff at the place were very friendly & inviting allowing us to sit and look through their menu before taking our orders. I ordered their big breakfast. Service was prompt. The food came out was lovely & very filling. Enjoyed every bit of it. The tomato chutney/relish that came with the butter was a nice added addition to the meal & complimented the other flavours well. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area, will be back to try again. The decor feels a bit outdated but it does give off that cosy feeling.
This cafe really takes after its name, cosy cafe. It’s location is in the popular suburb of Onehunga, on the main road with plenty of parking. The cafe itself is a little run down but I think it adds to the character of this place. The service here was good and the amount of attention was amply for a cafe. You can tell this is a favourable place for locals as customers were in and out on a continuous basis.
We ordered the Hash stack ($14.90) and The veggie grill ($15.90). The Hash stack is my go to for a good hearty brunch. Well portioned with 3 hash browns, mushrooms, avocado, salsa, aioli and 5 grain toast. The veggie grill is perfect for vegetarians and is a classic from there menu. Both dishes very well portioned and good value for money. We’ve been here several times now – you could call us regulars for sure! The food and service is always good and great value for money compared to other cafes in the area.

Awesome place! Got the Vege Grill which is basically a vegetarian big breakfast and it was great - they even did an egg white scramble when I asked which was A+. My mum also enjoyed her creamy mushrooms.
Our drinks (trim hot chocolate and fruit tea) were also lovely - the hot chocolate wasn't sickly sweet and was also nice and warm.
Serving size and price was reasonable, if not even more worth it than I expected. Staff were attentive and friendly as well.
Don't usually eat in the area but I think it's a great place :) Will be visiting again!

Went here today, such a cute little cafe! They have amazing coffee my friend and I ended up ordering 2 each haha. I had the corn fritters and they were super yummy. The young girl working and owner were very friendly. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!

I got the vege grill which came with a lot of food! The mushrooms were so good and the relish that came with it was also very tasty. Eggs were cooked well. Really reasonably priced for a big breakfast at I think $15.90 which is a great price for what you receive. :) I also got a flat white which was also pretty nice. Service and food was very speedy.

Have tried every almost cafe on Onehunga Mall to date and this place is my 'go to' for a big breakfast and recently a vege grill breakfast where i swapped out the eggs for extra mushrooms. Food comes out warm amd everything is cooked the way I asked. Staff are always friendly even when i take my toddler there.
Update: new furniture! was here again today and still on point 👌, had a vege grill and wedges, swapped out eggs for extra mushrooms, cooked well, soooo yum!!!

This place is a great pitstop before catching the train! It's simple food, done well! They do a pretty damn tasty big breakfast.. but if your more like us and have a sweet tooth? Then grab one of their delicious brownies and a hot chocolate! It's pretty awesome Chocolate combo that's sure to give you a sugar high.
Tried this cute cafe in Onehunga. Had the Chicken Filo which was very delicious. Annoying thing was having to constantly shoo away a flying insect (not a fly lol) that kept annoying my time at the cafe. Maybe can look into making sure the facilities are clean to make sure such it's not attracting such creatures. Service was very friendly.
A popular place my work mates and I to go to. The food is awesome and big portions at reasonable prices. I usually go for the hash brown stack, steak burger or the blat. the coffee is good too and they give a little jaffa lolly with your coffee which is nice :)

Spent $ 4.50 for a large size Flat White coffee there a couple of days ago. Coffee was nice with soft and smoothly milk foam. Staff were friendly.
This place is just awesome. Always busy on an early Sunday morning. Great friendly staff. Breakfast has never ever disappointed. I honestly think hands down the best coffee shop in onehunga.
Sunday's are always busy here at The Cozy Cafeteria and that's because it's gooood. Locals are regularly here as the food and coffee offering is worth the wait for a table. Coffees are great. The menu is quite small but what they do offer here is spot on. Corn fritters are worth a try and the blueberry pancakes are amazing. We will be back!
With all the cafes in Onehunga (30+ at last count ), Cosy Cafe would be the most unassuming and unpretentious cafe in the hood. From the awesome coffee (Allpress) made by James & his staff to the simple but extremely tasty menu - the whitebait fritter being my go to meal, light / healthy & filling - Cosy Cafe is a hidden gem. Always return here for for consistently good & quick meal.
This has to be our favourite breakfast cafe in Onehunga. I think our family have tried everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. The coffee is Allpress and always great and James and his team are friendly and helpful.
Yesterday we had the pancakes with bacon , the Vege grill with bacon and Eggs bene with bacon. Yes we love bacon!! The portions are big enough to satisfy but not too massive.
Great way to spend a day, we had breakfast here. They did half portions for kids and it is the first time Miss 8 cleared her plate of fettuccine!! Himself had the big breakfast and loved every bite. I had eggs bene with salmon, lots of salmon. Overall everyone left very content 😊

- Service is basic, mainly counter order, though sometimes offers table service (Unsure as has been inconsistent) Owners and staff are friendly. Can easily get overloaded on weekends.

- Kitchen food is basic. Though generous portions on certain items (big Breakfast). Hollandaise incredibly runny. Cabinet food minimal. Vege scones are possibly the best we have encountered.
Coffee: 9/10
-Serves Allpress, generally mid to high end. Coffee standards are very high, especially when the owners are working the machine. Great for takeaways. Best coffee available in Onehunga.
Final Comment: 21/30
- For what it promises, Cozy Cafeteria mostly delivers. Dine in food is average, however the aforementioned scones are second to none. The coffee is well worth a stop past too.

This is one of my mums favourites- we often come here for brunch or lunch when we catch up. Their pancakes are really nice and the serving sizes are great- the coffee is good too. It truly is cozy- it's nice and warm but not too stuffy and the menu has lots of comfort food options. It's definitely not 5 star but the service is friendly and it's always clean and tidy.
I love Cozy. I'm always there at least once a fortnight. The food is yum-pancakes😍 and coffee too. I love that's it's a quiet place to retreat to and cool atmosphere. Can get busy quickly especially on Saturdays
I discovered The Cozy Cafeteria while looking for a place in Onehunga to kill half an hour and have breakfast. It's a short walk (50m-100m?) up Onehunga Mall from Onehunga train station.
I've tried the Big Bennie (eggs Benedict) with bacon (loved it!) and (the next day) the Big Breakfast (almost loved it - I'm not a fan of cheese kranskies from a packet).
It's a popular place with a steady stream of people coming and going. The service is fast and friendly. The prices are about $16-$20 for breakfast a la cart items. The coffee was fine by me.
The Cozy Cafeteria has a nice feel to it. Plain, but comfortable. Concrete floor, but most of the chairs are padded. Avoid the steel stools if you plan to be there more than 15 minutes.
I've been here a few times and I always get the Hashbrown stack, it's absolutely delicious! Cheap and such a huge serving. The staff are always lovely and it's a great, relaxed atmosphere :)

Best cafe out of the many that are located in the mall in Onehunga. I've been to them all. Take the effort and visit it. It's opposite the Police station near the lower roundabout of the mall. Guarantee you won't be disappointed. Great food, friendly helpful staff and great prices.

I have been to Cozy for breakfast many times and it's a delight every time. Great food, great coffee, great service from really friendly staff, nice atmosphere, plenty of copies of the herald, and all consistently so. Now I'm off to try their lunch menu.....

the lunch menu is great but because I love the breakfast menu am always there sampling the breakfast fare, otherwise would recommend the big beef burger with actual home style cut fries, a pleasant change from the usual standard fries :)
We eat here at least once a week! The food is always amazing! with great portion sizes and more than reasonable prices. The staff are always great (Friendly and helpful) and the coffee is always good! Have sampled quite a few options on the menu and have never been disappointed! The Calamari Salad and Pancakes are firm favourites.
This place has it all- great coffee, great food and reasonable prices. Also good service! A shame there isn't enough outdoor seating for me to take the dog, or I would be here every day.

Café was exactly as the name describes and more. It was cozy but also felt very light and airy with its high ceilings and lovely lighting fixtures. The menu had great options. I really enjoyed the pasta, the portion size was perfect. My mother enjoyed her pancakes with bacon, fruits and syrup. Cappuccino was very nice and the staff were friendly. Will definitely go again, very soon.
Nice ambience with an artist-painted wall with varying plants. Friendly service, welcomed with a greeting as soon as we walked in, plenty of seats, table service offered as well as water brought out. Not a long wait for food. Cabinet food is reasonably priced and you can easily have two drinks and two dishes for around $30. The menu meals are also well priced most being at or under $20 per person. I had the corn fritters and they were generous with portion size, with very nice tasting bacon, and a good quality salad that was more extensive than the garnish you’ll see in other places. Their cappuccino could do with a little more foam, but was still well made.
All up, would recommend if you’re visiting Onehunga Mall!

We ordered the 2 lattes full cream, half milk ,half strength caramel , pan cakes and egg Benedict. What a wonderful taste of food. They have put the love in food and presentation is delightful. Food is very high quality, but the prices isn't. Which you can indulge yourself with a good portion of quality food and feel satisfied. We will come here now. Even tho we from Mangere East.
