They’ve nailed all three: taste, service and ambiance!
A modern looking cafe situated near the intersection of Queen Street and K Road. Lovely industrial interior with spacious seatings.
Ordered the Homemade Waffle. There were additional toppings available and I went for the Seasonal Fruits. Their waffle was excellent, tender but still crusty on the outside. The fruits were fresh and beautifully arranged on the plate.
Their staff were friendly and considerate. Little things like adding lemon slices to water and the twigs on the menu shows great dedication.
Overall a very pleasant experience.

Came in today for some dessert while my friend came for some delicious chicken sandwich. Haven't caught up with her in ages and Between cafe and eatery was the perfect place to do so. Staff were so nice, environment was calm and they also served orange lemon water. The waitress would come by every often to refill the water jug on our table. I drink lots of water when I'm eating so she had to come over a few times but she always did it with a smile on her face. The waiter also saw that we were sharing so he came and gave us an extra plate. All the staff were so attentive and it made the cafe a really nice environment to be in. The coconut mango mousse was also very delicious, flavours weren't too strong and complimented each other very well. The small portion was only sold for $3.50.
Friendly korean style cafe, staffs are all friendly, and drinks really creative, pretty and tasty. Green curry Pasta is good too. Easy to find car park on upper queen st. But they don't have high chair. So if you are bring your little one with you, maybe better go with trolley.
Ordered a steak sandwich. I had more trouble cutting the toasted bread than the steak (not a criticism of their bread). Service and presentation was more like I'd expect from a classy restaurant than a cafe, except without the price tag or the need for a reservation.
The service at Between is second to none. Lovely people who make you feel welcome in their cafe. The barista makes an absolutely impeccable flat white, top contender in town for sure. The food is tasty, and well made, and the kitchen service is quick too. Interior is awesome. Great seating arrangements and cool eye candy with the roof mounted lighting fixture at the front door. Ambient music is great going with the classics which is a big yes. I’m almost sceptical at how so many things can go right, but would highly recommend this cafe.
I don’t usually like waffles, but the ones I had here were absolutely superb! The setting is very cosy & homey - I came here for a girls breakfast and it was so lovely! The food and drinks were a wonderful start to the day - very delicious and satisfying! A very warm environment (it was raining really bad the day I went), would recommend this place for great breakfasts and cute outings!
Got takeaway breakfast for three here, presentation, portion size, taste all FANTASTIC! Soooo delicious, got three eggs benedict with different toppings (vegetarian option was especially delicious) sooo filling, so yummy. 100% going back and 100% will recommend to others. Thanks Between!! ❤️
We came here during a public holiday to find no surcharge (winning!). This place has amazing food, coffee and customer service. We loved the lemon infused water as well. Will be back again soon hopefully!
Ambience: There are dried flowers as art deco when you enter. Big sign "Between" lit on the top of the ceiling. Soft lightning and easy listening music is played.
Food and drinks: big serve and tasty. Very artistic with their drinks when served.
Staff: Friendly and very nice
our last dining experience in Auckland was great in this beautiful place with heart warming service. the menu itself is lovely , literally lol.
went for a soy latte which was quite strong and good. cured salmon in benny was the best one I’ve had. seriously why was it just so soft? it did MELT IN MOUTH in a sec. the waffle was thin but good, and the ice cream was impressive i couldn’t just stop eating it without the carb.
the whole place was seriously clean including the toilet and the kitchen.
Thank u Between! hope to have the chance to see u again.
Breakfast and between cafe & eatery. Cool venue with a decent amount pf space and friendly staff. Tried the open toast with scrambled eggs and prosciutto with added chirizo. The relish was great as was the bread and chorizo. Eggs a bit too done for me but no real complaints
A friend and I decided to make Between our brunch destination as we always heard about nice cafes around the area but never really knew where it was due to the subtle signage.
We were taken to a really neat spot near the front of the cafe. The space was very open and provided great ambience with the music being not too loud for conversation.
The food was great, good flavours, although a tad on the pricey side for the waffles especially. The coffee was decent and came with great latte art, which is always nice plus for cafes.
Ended up having a great time and is definitely one of the hidden gems on K Road.
No baby high chair, need to order at the counter but no one tells you.
Apart from that the drinks were very hip and yummy. The berry drink is highly recommended!
The prawn pasta was appealing but tasted good. Egg prosciutto was cooked perfectly and was delicious.
Everything else was good.

Very cute and spacious place tucked between some stores on K’ road. Had a rusty and cosy touch to the place. There were plenty of options to choose from in terms of food, and some vegan/vegetarian and gluten free options available too! The food was reasonably priced and had a good portion! The service was also efficient and friendly. Would come back again for sure!
I am HOOKED!! Super friendly and quick service. I’ve gone passed this place lots of time but couldn’t recognise since it doesn’t have big signs outside. But once you step in you’ll be impressed. They have the best mocha, ever! Highly recommend. Didn’t think I could find such a gem on Kroad like this.
This cafe is the best! The staff are so lovely - they always greet customers cheerfully as they arrive, and if you’re a regular, they’ll remember your name. I usually just get coffee cos it’s my work local and it’s amazing coffee, but the food is great too. Also, the space is really cool - big and airy and nice layout and furnishings. I’m always happy when I come in and it’s busy because they deserve to do well!
Good food, good service and a nice venue. Only thing was the iced coffee that wasn't the style I like bit I'm sure others might disagree. Would definitely go back
Have been to this place several times with my boyfriend - perfect little brunch hideaway. Yummy food, decent portions and good prices. Coffee is always made well, and the staff are friendly and approachable.
The food are so good, but drinks are just ''average level''. And dessert, not that sweet, I really like them. The environment is gorgeous, I prefer to have brunch in these kinds of places.
Lovely cafe with nice food and coffee. The tables and plates are pretty too. Tried their Bacon Alfredo Pasta and it was really nice. Suggested to instagrammers :)
Gorgeous place. Came here for breakfast while in Auckland for the weekend.
Menu had the classics but also some unique items. The drinks menu was impressive too!
We will be back!
This was a really nice modern looking cafe. The coffee and food is pretty amazing! I had the hash mash and the hash is amazing! I also liked that there was a mountain of avocado, which was worth the price, unlike other places.
Definitely would recommend!
The staff here are amazingly friendly. It’s a very welcoming, warm, cosy place. Food is fresh and fast, coffee is top notch. There’s a real sense of craft and pride in what they do. Love it!
I can say without a doubt that this place serves the best soup of the day...Pumpkin and Kumara super friendly staff and will invite my friends next time and intend to tell our customer and staff at work...
Keep up the good Job...

I went here before for coffee and some croissant then decided to come back to have breakfast. Their menu is very interesting, it's not the same as other cafe and yes, when we got our food it's also not just your typical brunch food. It was presented well and of course the TASTE! The right amount of saltiness in bacon goes well with other sweet component in the waffle. I had the Hash Mush, its a hash brown with smash avo and potobello mushrooms. Its soooo good!
Staffs here are always friendly too. They always serve w smile and very nice when I asked something about the menu. Coffee is excellent! This cafe is in Krd. It's not so obvious from the outside but I love it being like that. One of the hidden gems of the city!
A hidden gem tbh! Love the customer service and the food is AMAZING. Honestly lost for words. It’s my favourite cafe atm. Instagram worthy too!
I was told that the owners of this place used to be the owners of The Shelf before they moved onto Between Cafe & Eatery - so I had high expectations. The decor of the place is simple and clean with high ceilings, plenty of open space, it reminded me of European cafes.
I ordered the brioche french toast and it was the best french toast I've ordered in any cafe. The toast was fluffy and light, the bananas had a creme brulee crystallised top, and it was nice to have fruit that weren't frozen berries.
My friends ordered the hash mash and the hash was crisp and not oily at all. The sole reason why we wouldn't order this again is because there was only 1 hash brown. It wasn't filling given the price, especially if you compare it to the French toast with $1 difference.
They also make their own desserts and we tried a black forest gateau to finish. It had the great balance between sweet and bitter with the dark chocolate coating. The only berry component to this was the piping of berry cream on top of the dome.
I will come again just for the French toast and the vibe.
Cute little cafe tucked away on K Road, it's hard to find as it doesn't even have street signage but you'll be surprised by how spacious it is once you step in. The interior is modern and artsy, making it a perfect stop on K Road. I ordered the quinoa stack and the mint chocolate, both were beautifully presented and tasted great! The portion might be a bit small for some but the prices are standard brunch prices that aren't very steep!
Nice vibe and cool industrial-style decor. Good, prompt service. Airy and spacious seating. I’ve been here a few times and tried the smashed avo, the eggs bene and the quinoa salad during the course of my visits. The first two dishes were tasty, though the English muffins were a tad too crispy for my liking. The quinoa salad was scrumptious! Halloumi done right is always a winner!
Cool place, creative fitout - nice touches everywhere. 2nd time I've been, friendly staff. Had a typical Saturday breakfast for me - poached eggs, hash and bacon were excellent, sourdough was fresh and even a bit warm. Didn't care too much for the herbed butter or the chorizo sausage, which was very dry. Overall good.
Very friendly service and very nice place. I had the Iced Einspänner (a cold brew coffee with whipped cream on top). And it was very yummy. Will be back to try some lunch there next time.
Came for Saturday brunch, surprisingly quiet for a cafe with such good reviews. Service was good, staff were really friendly. Food came out quickly. I had the iced chocolate (really good) and the Fresh BB. Everything was well presented, obviously put a lot of thought into it. Wasn’t a fan of the salmon but everything on the dishes was really fresh, poached eggs cooked perfectly. Water was infused with citrus which was a nice touch. I’ve also previously come and had the Thai green prawn pasta, really different but they pull it off, great flavour, definitely worth trying.
The menu is quite different from your average cafe, but definitely worth trying out. Awesome modern feel, food was gorgeous. Perfect for brunch, because you have two parts of the menu to chose from!! 😂😂 Felt like the staff might have been quite new, because it almost felt like they didn't reallly talk to each about whether an order had gone through or not. The service was fast however and definitely worth it!!
Beautiful little gem on K Road. The vibe is pretty chilled out, the staff is absolutely awesome, the food is A+ and the coffee is A++.
They do a mean flat white and the desserts in the cabinet are so tempting! If you’re in the city, give them a shot, they'll take good care of you :)
After reading all the different reviews we decided to try it out for ourselves. We loved the place. Good food to choose from. They were very fast and everything tasted amazing. Their hot chocolate was to taste. We’ll definitely come here again.Just a little hard to find the place as its not displayed very well.
Thought we would try out a new cafe. Love the decor, excellent customer service and food. Well worth a visit. Interesting Asian infused food choices. Definitely will be back to try the mini eclairs.
We always have a wonderful culinary experience at this place, and we'd recommend it to anyone. The management is excellent, and kept us informed what wasn't not available on the menu, and updates on how long we'll have to wait for their meals, and even provided free treats the one time we did have a fairly long waiting time (it was simply a super busy day).
Every item we've ordered has been exceptional in presentation, from well arranged lunch dishes, small bowls of salt to authentically self-serve and even down as far as having beautiful shell spoons and wooden place mats for your drinks.
The menu is deep enough to satisfy anyone, with flavours and textures of food that are without fault - and none of it costs you an arm and a leg. We rate this place one of very favourite spots in Auckland. Get the Chicken Stack!!!
Very relaxing, excellent food, presentation top notch. Would definitely come again. Bit hard to spot from the road, look for a large sign on the ceiling to find.
I loved the interior design of this cafe so unique and pretty. The staff here was friendly and welcoming. I loved the design of the menu board which matched with the atmoshere/vibe of the cafe. The food we ordered was thai green prawn pasta and creamy mushroom. The thai green prawn pasta was a unique dish which was interesting and something which I have never heard of. It had that kick to a pleasent spice and the prawn was nice a crispy.
This is hands down one of our favourite places at K' Road. We love the decoration, food and staff. I highly recommend the Special BB and the iced choc.
Just had lunch here today and it wasn’t too busy around 12pm. I had made a reservation before coming here and the process for that was really easy.
Between us we ordered the waffles, jerk salad, B.B. breakfast, mushrooms, bacon and eggs, soup of the day (which was tomato) and a few drinks.
I had the creamy mushrooms which were really good and only had a hint of the blue cheese which was good so not too overpowering. The iced chocolate was a bit too thick for me and I didn’t finish it because it was quite sickening (but to be fair with that amount of chocolate it was probably worth the money). the other food was said to be good too, but definitely on the pricey side.
The service was patchy. They were good at first with friendliness and communication but then later they got orders mixed up. Also when it came to payments they messed up some transactions and weren’t too apologetic about it. I work in retail (so i try to be really good to staff cause I know how easy it is to make mistakes) so I let the staff know it was totally fine and I wasn’t too fussed but her tone made it seem like it was our fault that her system was showing us owing money when we had all paid correctly.
I would recommend coming here in smaller groups or by yourself. Food is good and looks really nice but I found the group situation wasn’t handled too well by them.

Absolutely in loved with their interior designs!! Presentation of their food is a solid 10/10 for me!! Taste amazing too! The staffs were pretty friendly!
The cafe was super aesthetic first of all, my friends recommended me here so I did have high expectations to start with. It definitely didn’t let me down!
The staff was super nice, toilets extremely clean too haha. We got the thai green curry with prawn pasta and their french toast with added coconut yoghurt. It was absolutely delicious!!
I would say it was the best french toast I have ever tried, the crunchiness on the outside matches the chewy Bread in the middle perfectly and the yoghurt icecream added the perfect touch.
The pasta was really nice also, really flavoursome. Just one thing, the pasta did stick together a little so was a bit clumpy, but apart from that it was so yummy!!
Both my friend and I loved it and we will definitely be coming back here soon !!
Came here for brunch on a rainy morning. Really good friendly service. Lovely spacious cafe. We ordered the waffles with marscapone, maple syrup & fruit and I also got a flat white. The coffee was ok, a bit too watery for my liking. The food more than made up for it. The waffles were divine. I will definitely be back.
Hands downs one of the best cafes in the city. Their BB Choc (hot chocolate) is a must try, with its blooming flower marshmallow. The chicken shack and Thai prawn pasta were delicious.
I don’t usually choose dessert after a big meal but I cannot not order one of their gorgeous looking desserts - try the tiramisu! :) Would definitely recommend Between Cafe to anyone
Oh my god this place is an absolute gem! 💎 💎💎
Our coffees were spot on, the food was delicious and insta-worthy (by the way, we made a few changes to the menu due to our dietary requirements and the food came out exactly how we wanted it!!! Impressed!!!)
The decor was nice, the music was on point, everything was just perfect! 💯
To top it up, the owner and her staff were onto it and super friendly, I'm definitely coming back!!!
Interior design is amazing used with a great finished of nice clean cutlery set as this matches well with the feel of the layout of a more creative use of space.Really like how the service is provided, people working there are very friendly in terms of managing the place and also getting orders completed at a smooth quick pace. Presentation of food on plates are appealing and portion of food served are appropriate providing a good selection of mains, drinks and desserts. Highly Recommend+
Guys! Stay away because I just want to keep this place My Own!! Such a gem on K'road. I love the decoration, I love the food and I love Love the prawn green curry pasta. Even the tiny bakery counter looks like every little dessert in there was a piece of art. I would not say the price is cheap but much more reasonable than other coffee places that do this type of fancy on the plate. A "must try" destination for food lovers
Decided to visit here spontaneously with my sisters for a quick lunch.
We got the Tiger Prawn Pasta, Salmon Salad and two cabinet cakes; namely Chocolate Praline Mousse cake and Coconut & Lychee cake.
If it weren’t for their iconic “Between” signage hung from the ceiling at the entrance, we would’ve walked right past it! The interior is beautifully arranged, with a vintage piano off on one side, quirky yet sophisticated wooden furniture and delicate lights hanging from the ceiling, giving a urban rustic ambience.
The Tiger Prawn Pasta IS TO DIE FOR. We spent ages taking photos so it was remotely cold by the time we dug in but NEVERTHELESS IT WAS AMAZING. The Parmesan shavings on the top added the perfect touch of creaminess and flavour to the already flavoursome pasta. Pasta itself is also cooked to perfection. The Tiger prawns were seasoned so well; earthy peppery flavours.
The dressing for the salmon salad was amazing too! I’m a huge fan of vinegary dressings though so if it’s not for you I would steer away from it. The greens were crunchy and refreshing, and the salmon was subtly flavoured and was very fresh.
The chocolate praline cake was a nice little explosion for the taste buds. The mix of crunchiness of the praline with the crack of the chocolate coating, the smoothness of the chocolate mousse, and the tanginess and creaminess of the gentle mango mousse in the centre—beautiful.
The coconut and Lychee was the perfect balance between sweet and sour. There’s even a full Lychee on the cake. Perhaps it was a little stale though.

Fantastic atmosphere and great coffee, their specialty drinks are amazing! Tried the mint hot chocolate and loved it. Food was great with huge portions. Would recommend and will visit again.
Had a quick bite and flat white ... !! Nice decor and and spacious seatings ... next time when we come back will try the waffles 😝 ✌😬👍😛😊
Cute cafe with great service. The three berry lychee smoothie has got to be one of my favs out of all the recent smoothies I've had at various cages lately. The Thai prawn pasta is quite a different item to have on a cafe menu, it was generous with the number of big juicy prawns in there and was flavoursome with the right amount of spice for me. It did get a little rich towards the end but I quite enjoyed it.

LOVE this cafe! Delicious food, amazing coffee and incredible desserts! The atmosphere of the cafe is modern with a nice home feeling. Staff are lovely and very efficient. Can't wait to go back! My absolute fave meal so far has been the Thai green curry pasta with prawns 😍😍
Brought to you from the owners of The Shelf on High (which I also loved), this cute cafe provides you with the decor and ambiance you need for the Instagram aesthetics.
Had such a great brunch today! I ordered waffles with added fruit and it was so amazing! The waffles were crunchy on the outside and sweet, and combined with the fruit it was so refreshing and tasty.
My partner got the big breakfast and it was so nice too, the sausage and hash brown were really yummy.
The staff were very nice too, we were welcomed as soon as we walked in the door.
5/5 - We want to come here regularly now :)
Nice place for breakfast, staff nice too! I like the environment, you don't wait too long. Such a good place to start a winter sunny day in Auckland.
Finally went to this place after hearing a lot of good reviews! Wasn't at all disappointed even though I had high expectations. The only downside would probably be the location.
Coffee 5/5
My friend and I had the iced chocolate and iced mocha. The cold drinks were really nice! Even though iced chocolate tastes pretty much the same elsewhere, it was very sweet but also had a rich chocolate flavour which I really enjoyed and made it different to other iced chocs. Might be one of the best iced chocs I've had so far!
Food 4/5
We had the homemade waffle with the vanilla ice cream. The waffle was nice but there wasn't a wow factor to it. The presentation gave it a plus though! The best part would have been the ice cream! Best vanilla ice cream I've had! Totally different to the typical vanilla ice cream flavour.
Service 4/5
Friendly staff! Nothing to complain about.
Ambience 5/5
This cafe and its interior was very different to other cafes I've been to, so it was a new experience. I could see that the cafe had put a lot of effort and attention to detail!
This place is special and pretty sheek. Loved the location and ambience. The food was amazing and those desserts in the cabinet are to die for! Thanks for an awesome lunch!
Great staff with humour, politeness, and enthusiasm. Food was great, moderate serving size for the price. Comfortable environment, cosy and stylish. Enjoyed a lovely catch up with friends!
Awesome new cafe right in the heart of the city! Well done guys, really liked your interior design, service and breakfast was just perfect! I had waffles with fruits, berry compote and mascarpone - delicious! My partner had big breakfast, also very tasty and big portion size. Food and drinks presentation is cool! Definitely will come back again :)
With reviews popping up everywhere we had high expectations for this new hipster café. Driving past we nearly missed it, as it looks like a standard café from the seating outside. It’s not until you walk through the first door that you notice all the attention they have put into the interior – far from standard. The giant ‘between’ logo hanging from the ceiling is a dominant feature and a nice touch to the entrance. We were impressed with the modern industrial feel and the relaxed vibe of the café.
Welcomed and greeted with menu’s, we were told to place our orders at the counter when we were ready. The menu has some interesting options, a mixture of breakfast, salads and pasta dishes. The Chicken stack, homemade waffles and French brioche definitely caught my eye and will be on my hit list next time we visit. My partner and I ordered the BB Special ($23), Quinoa medley ($18) and a flat white. The coffee unfortunately failed to impress. It was a bit watering and was missing that rich coffee flavour. The Quinoa medley was beautifully presented and a great healthier option. Full of colour and flavour, all the elements of the dish married together well. The BB Special is your big breakfast alternative and is well portioned meal with all the good stuff. We were a bit disappointment with the mushroom as it was quite bland and also the hash brown. The hash brown looked good but was a little over done on the outside and the shredded potato inside had a floury texture.
As for the cabinet… what a sight it was! The beautifully presented sweet treats and desserts look delicious and had us regretting junk free June. They nailed the flavours for these sweet morals – coconut lychee, salted caramel, tiramisu, mango orange citrus and milk chocolate praline. I would happily return just to try one of these!
Very lovely place, love the whole feeling and the decorations. Food is not bad I quite like the chicken salad and the prawn pasta. BB Chocolate is very nice and I feel the iced einspaenner is very different if you haven't try it before I recommend that :)
Keep coming back here because of the nice food and service. You can take a menu to one of their seating areas but you order up at the counter. The menu is a few pages long and there are a few things to choose from. All sound nice and will probably be nice. The menu changes and some items disappear while others take its place. Plenty of seating and it is one of those places where you can sit for a quick lunch or for something more leisurely for a few hours.
Best part is that they have a cabinet full of really tasty desserts which is made by choux.
I also noticed that they had coffee cards of customers stuck to the beam in front of the counter which is a really good idea.
Nice food and location. Stop by if you are nearby.
It's a go-to place for anyone who goes to a cafe not just for the food but for the ambience as well. It's located on K road and can be easily missed if you're not paying attention.
I've been here only once and tried there waffles which were just the right kind of crunchy - the seasonal fruits on the waffles were delicious and aesthetically placed.
Overall, it was a refreshing experience!
The best place to go on K Road. Have now visited Between 4 times and cannot get enough. Great laid back vibe to the cafe and the staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Usually visit on a Sunday with my partner for some brunch always followed by one of the amazing cakes from the cabinet! Visited today myself and opted for the Quinoa Medley with poached egg - Wow! Delicious, healthy salad with great flavour. It is clear a great deal of thought has been put into their menu and everything from the meals to their juices and coffee is presently perfectly.
Delighted to have such a fantastic place only a short walk from home and now would not go anywhere else!!
Was suprisingly quiet on a Sunday afternoon although parking was a pain to find.
We were immediately greeted and the cafe had a very "hipster" ambience
It was noticeable that they had put in a lot of thought into their interior design- loved the dried flowers, cute piano and the industrial walls.
We ordered the Einspanner coffee, cold brew and could not fight the temptation to try one of their beautiful eclairs
Both were too watery and not enough coffee for my liking but was well presented.
The salt caramel eclair on the other hand; top notch 👌🏼
The cafe also showed off their exquisite cabinet of dainty desserts and their menu looked interesting too - will definitely come try next time!
Downside: parking + watery coffee + sits on the pricey side
Plus: Beautifully presented food + nice ambience + friendly staff + free wifi
First expressions of this wonderful eatery from the outside looks inviting so I decided to try it out and I'm so pleased I did with such friendly staff and attentive and welcoming. I had a hot choc omg delish with sweets then decided to get eggs on toast and it was full of flavours but i did have to wait for my eggs is the only thing I had to mention but a great experience.
Came here for a quick cuppa and muffin and can tell immediately is new to K Road neighbourhood, i walked straight past as they have a interior neon sign rather than on window. Had a nice Very thin flat white with over sprinkled cinnamon (4got to tell maker lightly sprinkled) and a blueberry muffin and menu has all yer usual cafe style dishes and nicely presented cabinet snacks, in fact so nicely presented i thought were models. Friendly staff and very roomy with a rustic theme interior design. A bit on the pricey side tough..
Just came back from there. I loved it! The shop was a bit dark but really loved the food. I ordered Thai prawn curry pasta (i think that was the name). As a Thai myself, they really did a good job bringing out the smell of Thai curry. For a Thai fusion food, I approve!! The iced latte was really nice too. It was kinda pricey though. Definitely will go back.
Great ambience. I really loved the interior of the cafe reminding me of trendy local cafes in Seoul, Korea.
I ordered Iced Einspanner, Iced chocolate, waffles w bacon and cream pasta.
Iced Einspanner tasted good. Just like iced coffee but with cream instead of milk. I wish the espresso was a bit stronger tho. Iced chocolate needs a lot of improvement. It just tasted like chocolate milk with some ice cubes in it.
Food was delicious and price was reasonable. I want to try their other menu too. Pasta was flavourful.
Its been a while since my last review and a while since I last gave a 5, but Between Cafe & Eatery is basically impossible not to boast about. It's not often a cafe impresses as much as Between does. Even their business cards are unique.
This new rustic cafe has an open floor plan feel to it. From the vibrant coffee corner, the copper pipes which leads to a little lightbulb above the table, to the transparent paneled walls, it is the finer details of the cafe that are to be admired.
Let's talk about main course. We ordered the chicken stack which was a beautiful crisp batter perfectly spiced! The ratio between batter and chicken was perfect, at no point did one over power the other. The pickled onion, and pickles were the most fresh I've ever had, not that it was under-marinated but that it was removed from the brine at the perfectly right time.
My dish was the Thai green tiger prawn pasta. The idea of this dish in itself is amazing, simple, yet unthought of and unconventional.
Execution? Perfect.
The curry was creamy like carbonara but not rich to the point where you want to stop eating after a few bites. Done incredibly well the spices shone through without overpowering the coconut cream. The prawns were slightly over done as it was a little tough but that is possibly the only critique about the dish.
The tiramisu from the cabinet was possibly the most unconventional presentation yet an absolute beauty. The base a soft sponge, supporting creamy decadent sweet layers of Italian custard and sponge.
And finally just a comment on their washrooms, clean, simple yet intricate with placement of smaller decor. One can't miss the multicolored hexagonal mirrors pieced together almost looking like a beehive.
Needless to say, I most definitely recommend and will be back. Am excited to see Between Cafe & Eatery thrive in Auckland which I'm sure they will.

This place is wonderful!! The atmosphere is fantastic! The decor is stunning! And the hot chocolates are just as amazing. If you're hanging around Kroad and need a hot drink or some food, I would totally recommend this place!! ☕️👍🙂
Love this little hidden gem right on my doorstep.
Visited twice now and been very pleased with my food and coffee, staff are also great. Had the big breakfast today which was amazing the bacon was crispy mushroons were juicy eggs were soft hash was perfect accompanied with a home made brown sauce which was delicious. The chorizo sausage didn't do it for me just didn't go with the rest off the breakfast maybe a nice organic lamb sausage or pork and apple would be better.
Wish between was open on a Sunday as its me and my partners only day off together so we have to dine alone each time we visit.
Great food and coffee! Unique compared to other cafe's in the Auckland CBD. Spacious area with nice interior design. Beautiful place to enjoy morning coffee or anytime of the day. Nice friendly staff with a great customer service. The place sells great dessert aswell, eclairs are really exceptional. Would definitely rate it as one of the top cafes to go to in Auckland.
Food was exceptional! Had the waffle with add on bacon. Absolutely to die for!! The portion was just right, every bite of waffle put together with a bit of mascarpone and fresh berry compote plus a bit of that scrumptious crispy bacon!!! YUM!!
Coffee was good (personally would prefer it to be a bit more hotter and stronger, maybe it was single shot? 🤔)
Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere! Has this kind of cool vibe to it. Would love to try more from their menu and their cabinet creations!
Had coffee this morning. It is amazing! The fantastic smell and smooth taste brings me a good start of friday lol. Willing to try their cakes soon.
Oh my, aren't I glad I tried this new cafe. Some of the warmest friendliest service I've encountered in quite some time. The space is eclectic, spacious and beautiful and capitalises on the K-Rd factor of unexpected spaces.
I sat at the bar as there were no seats at tables left. I ordered an almond croissant and a flat white. Watching the Barista Andy was like watching theatre. Theres a whole lot of pride, passion and precision going into each drink poured. The coffee equipment being used to create, is modern and oh so beautiful.
My almond croissant was delicious and heated to perfection. Even the crockery has been carefully considered. And my coffee was a bang on 10/10. Couldn't get any better. I've found my coffee heaven.
This place nails it.
If you're an early bird or just lucky, you'll be able to sit at the window and take in the amazing view over Myers Park.
Food was good too. Nice touch with the jelly served with toastie.
The coffee was quite cold and not the best taste as you can see the latte art in the photo. Compare to their reputation, I was disappointed on their coffee quality as I like eighthirty beans. The view from the table was good. Staff were not that friendly but all good.
Delicious breakfast spot and we were lucky to get a great view at the top table! We both enjoyed the cheese toastie with the chili egg and homemade pickles. The turmeric latte was the perfect flavor. Great ambiance and a winner all around.
Loved the place, the staff is more than nice, all smiling and taking care of you. The food was excellent, the maple cookie was one of the best I ever had. Loved the vibe and great view over the park and skycity tower! Totally recommend this place.
Hands down the best Chai latte I've tried. And I don't say that lightly!
Cozy place with open space to sit inside or having views to the tower. A chai and a black coffee (with refill) for 11nzd.
It was love at the first sight… The atmosphere is amazing, the place is gorgeous, the service is great and the food is amazing. We had the free range eggs that was delicious, and the pancakes that were the dye for. I highly recommend this place!
Would recommend getting the chili fried eggs! Everything we ordered was delicious. The atmosphere is super pretty, however, the service was unfriendly. Coffee was very very good but sadly no latte art
Simply amazing! Had the chili butter fried eggs on sourdough with a side of avocado & my husband ordered the stack of pancakes with bacon. Everything was so tasty & flavorful! We also got the green smoothies which were also great. Definitely recommend this place!
The food and coffee are super good! The chili fried egg toast 🥰 (asked for the egg well-done)
Lovely hip cafe for all ages with a view of the Skytower.
Cute decor adds to it.
Yummy food especially the shoestring fries.
Good coffee.
