Great ice cream and do love their cappuccino and mint chocolate flavours! Grab an ice cream and sit on the bench nothing’s better than this.
I found this place while I was walking around looking for a nice café. I had a small cup of bubble gum ice cream with rainbow sprinkles on top. It was really delicious. I recommend coming here on a hot, sunny, day.
We came here as there was plenty of indoor seating and it gets quite windy by the wharf, so we were happy to be able to sit inside.
I was impressed to see so many fruit sorbet flavours and I was particularly drawn to those. I ended up going with Grapefruit and Pineapple and I think it was the perfect combination for me. Both flavours were refreshing, light, smooth, the fruit flavouring was quite natural and not artificial like some can be. Loved everything about this place!
Came here after a lunch, and it was jam packed with people. They have lots of awards on the wall which really show how GOOD their gelato is.
Pricewise it is quite a regular price for gelato.
Unfortunately, they didn’t have a lot of the flavours I wanted to try – namely the ones who have won awards. Will definitely be back to try more of the flavours over summer.
Always pop in for an ice cream if I'm on the viaduct and theres nothing special about it but its good for an average gelato, yum and refreshing. They have a good variety of flavours. Recommend if you are in the area :)
Got the chocolate gelato - tastes like the gelato I used to eat at Wendy’s as a child!! I like how this flavour isn’t too rich and not overly sweet. Definitely will be back to try other flavours 😍 also, the location is right by the waterfront so it’s perfect for a dessert date or after dinner
Damn Gelatimo is the place to go. Been here so many times with friends and family and I've never been disappointed. The place itself is in the perfect place right in Wynyard Quarter on the water so it's perfect in summer. The ice-cream and gelato are always on point and always different flavours. You need to go here for an ice-cream or gelato it get's super busy but it's well worth it. x
Love the ice cream here so much, service is always so good and the ice cream itself is so yum! The view from the place is so cute shows the best view of the viaduct. Love this place so so much
Come here for the Best Sesame Ice cream in town! ❤
They also have lots of variety of flavours. The best selling one are the caramel, coffee, and chocolate flavours. They also have very good scone muffins and cakes! I tried the orange cake and its soo good! ❤
A wide variety of desserts (especially gelato) that can be enjoyed with some family and friends while overlooking the harbour.
The cheesecake was tasty and so was the gelato. The prices were also fair considering the ambience and the quality of the food.
I wish we were given water and napkins when we were given our order instead of needing to ask for them. Otherwise, everything was good.
We were craving ice cream and this place was the closest to Silo park so we came here. Quite a few outdoor tables and there were also a few inside.
The menu on the blackboard behind the counter had drinks as well as other desserts. The counter itself had desserts like cake slices on one side and gelato on the other. The gelato flavours they had were quite interesting. I tried the mango and dulce de leche ones. The gelatos were smooth and creamy and have a nice flavour.
For such sunny day like today, ice cream woyld be best to help freshen up. Visited gelatiamo many times and always busy.
Ambience 4/5

Service: 5/5
Overall: 5/5
Walked for 20 mins from queen street to Wynyard quarter for this icecream but it was definitely worthy. Staff were super nice and let me try some flavours. I tried bubble gum and hazelnut (their flavours were amazing and literally just bubble gum and hazelnut in gelato form!) but i wanted something refreshing so I chose raspberry. The raspberry won gold medal in some year (can’t remember which year sorry).
Thought it was sorbet but it was a really creamy gelato! Raspberry flavour wasn’t too sweet and was with slightly sour flavour so it’s really refreshing for me. Icecream portion was big but it was only $5.5 in a cup👍🏻👍🏻
When the weather is nice, it will be great to have ice cream at the waterfront.
Got the Pineapple sorbet which tasted like the Pineapple Fruju!
I wasn’t sold on the flavour selection they had but it’s located on the waterfront so it was nice sitting by the water and eating it
Had a lovely experience eating dessert here tonight. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, greatly decorated as well! I thought the prices were pretty fair for a quality gelato place. Would love to come back here again.
I’m not really fond of ice cream or gelato but i’d go back anytime just to have the Vanilla! oh my, that was very good. I can have that everyday!
The wife got two scoops, Vanilla in the bottom topped with the Chocolate, tried that and just decided to wait till she goes through the Chocolate.
It was a relaxing Wednesday afternoon so me and two friends decided to try out the gelato place I kept hearing about from my other friends and BOY, was it a spectacular surprise! Walking in, I was greeted by the lovely girl at the counter and even got to try out some flavours. I got the strawberry and my other friends loved the pistachio and blueberry! Also, the girl wasn't kidding about one scoop, it was the biggest I have ever seen at a dessert shop and honestly one of the best places I have been to for dessert!
P.s you are cute (girl who served us) xoxo
"is that really one scoop???"
The environment is quite beautiful and is just by the water. Ice cream portions are big and they are absolutely yum. They also have cakes and confectionary. It’s worth trying. However, take note that there is no proper or easy parking nearby.
Service: friendly and helpful staff 10/10
Ambience: spacious store, great location (right by the water) and heaps of seatings to choose, both indoors and outdoors.
Food: I got the chocolate and caramel ice cream. Delicious!!! The sesame ice cream tasted weird, wouldn’t recommend it. I will come back to try sole fruity flavours though.
After lunch at Baduzzi, we walked across Jellico Street, and there we were, at Gelatiamo where we had some lovely ice-creams. The many stickers of gold & silver awards on the glass door seemed to be gaurantees of good quality ice-creams. We tried the coconut & capuccino flavours. How lovely these ice-creams were!
Yum Yum!!!
We got the coconut gelato , two scoops of the mint and watermelon and a double scoop of lemon and mint, a long black and capuccino. All delicious, fabulous environment, friendly staff, fast service. Worth it.
Really cute place! Delicious banana split and award winning icecreams...loved the wall murals and the atmosphere, the prices are a little steep though. Customer service is great! Will be back for sure.
Great concept & a good location sandwiched between Marvel Grill & Rushworth cafe.
Lots of gelato flavours to choose from & other dessert options. They are happy to provide a taste to help you decide on your flavour. Today I tried bubblegum which reminded me of Goodie Gum Drop (yum!) but decided on Mango for a refreshing afternoon treat. Other flavours from lemon, mint, blueberry through to caramel, chocolate & vanilla.Toppings are optional at 50c each or 3 for $1. I had chocolate sprinkles - a nice chocolate hit to the refreshing mango. Not cheap at $6 all up, but worthy of this price considering the quality & location.
Gelato on the waterfront is always grand and i do love the location of the place but its just too expensive!!! I only ended up getting one little scoop in a cup and it was gone so fast. Their gelato is lovely but the price leaves a bit of a bitter taste.
I visited Gelatiamo with a friend because I was craving gelato. (Duh). We went in on a relatively quiet afternoon, so we got served and were able to sit at a table quickly. I really liked the wall of the restaurant, which I have attached. I thought it was cute and quirky, and definitely fitted the vibe of the place.
I got a cup of the espresso (or coffee-esque, can't quite remember what it was) gelato. It was delicious. Everything I could have wanted on a hot summer afternoon.
I've been craving gelato ever since, so I'm sure I'll be back soon enough!
Like the concept of the place. Good variety of ice cream. However, not really satisfied with the amount of waffle. It's too pricey for $12.90 with just one waffle. Not too sure if I will come back here again but food is good
Good gelato- ordered mint choc, creme brulee, and mango. The mango didnt taste that great unfortunately- and the scoops can be a bit pricey. But who can say no to gelato on a scorching hot day'
Not a huge selection of flavours which appealed to me. I had the chocolate which was delicious & very flavoursome. Staff were friendly & happily let you taste flavours before you buy. Liked that they had plenty of seating in a cafe style so you could sit & enjoy.
Deliciousness! Shared a banana split with my friend and we gilded it down in 5 minutes it was massive though but so tasty. We had peppermint chocolate chip, chocolate and cappuccino flavoured surrounded by nice firm banana and topped with whipped cream, caramel and chocolate sauce and nuts! Drooling yet?
I'm in love with this place! Award winning chocolate gelato and they certainly deserve it. Gluten free options well labelled which is great to see, especially when they are busy so you don't have to ask.
Fantastic place to visit with friends, brilliant coffee and brilliant ice cream. Couldn't find a friendlier group of staff even if I tried. Always love coming in and relaxing when I have the time. 10/10 would reccomend this
Great location, just what I needed on a hot day after a walk around the waterfront.
Ice cream was delicious, I also tried their mango iced tea which was tasty.
One negative comment would be that staff should learn to serve the customer next in line instead of serving customers who are jumping the que.
My friend was served as she was in front of me and I had to wait few minutes longer to be served due to those unpleasant people jumping the que.
Ice cream is pretty delish, great presentation.
I don't think they make a lot of the stuff themselves... Not sure if thats a minus.
Good value. Service could do with a bit of work though.
Had some awesome gelato here with the kids after playing at the north wharf playground. extremely delicious, and it was hard to choose the flavours because they did all look so good. Stylish, comfy clean places to sit and eat too.
Grade A!!
What a cute little spot in the water front/Silo park. Super delicious and affordable prices! First time here and will always stop in when we bring the kids to Silo park again.
An absolute pleasure to visit this place. Had Baklava ice cream, amazing flavor of Turkish Baklava turned into ice cream. A must visit in CBD.
Took the kids for a late night treat. Lovely gelato , my husband ordered a brownie which was Delish . Nice to have a evening stroll and stop in for dessert 🍨
When at the wharf, this is a stop to enjoy some dessert, whether it is lunch or dinner. After enjoying a good meal of fresh seafood, always leave room for dessert. Prices are reasonable. Helping are large. The gelato is good
If you love Durian then you should try Durian Gelato here, it won’t be at the front freezer as they keep in separate freezer. It tastes so full of Durian Flavour and Lovely staff!
Tucked away in the viaduct. Kind of silly they have 2 scoops for 12.50 but if you got 2 singles it's 15 bucks. Good gelato.
I visited yesterday with my family. Many people enjoyed the gelato. We also enjoyed. Taste is good. Inside is a little bit small size. Except of that, everything is good.
Some of the best gelato my partner and I have ever had. I love the fact that the scoop sizes are massive! Will definitely be back when we're in Auckland again.
Had Oreo on a waffle cone which was great, store had a nice layout and theme and seating outside.
The best French vanilla ice cream I’ve had so far. You need to experience this at least once if you’re in Auckland.
Great spot for a scoop or 2 here by the wharf, loved the taro flavor..awesome atmosphere & vibes🤗
Great gelato shop! There were many dairy free choices. The charcoal coconut flavour is AMAZING, I recommend trying it! All the flavours are very true tasting, the melon flavour tastes like rockmelon rather than an artificial melon taste. Awesome gelato, awesome visit!
Amazing selection of gelato with gluten free and vegan options available ! Great location right in the harbour near a park. The owner makes the gelato in-store & her hard work shows! So good!
Nice little place in the waterfront. Can recommend the Hawaiian Black Charcoal ice cream
Great gelato and a unique range of flavours too!!We tried the pomegranate and cappuccino flavour and they were both really good.. Shame we didn’t get to try the taro flavour since it ran out😭
The gelato burger was quite interesting. You get hot and crispy bun and your choice of gelato on the inside.
