Selera Malaysian Cafe - Auckland Central - Photo album

(Visited on 14 November 2023, reviewed on 6 December 2023) Crowded place due to the restaurant being renowned for great Malaysian food. The braised pork fried noodles I had were delicious! Worth coming here again. Parking is a bit difficult, so best to park behind (somewhere close to Teed street), o
It was pricey compared to other Malaysian restaurants, but it was worth it. Prawn fired dumplings were so good. The place was so busy, but staff were so friendly. I would like to go back.
Selera has really good Malaysia food. Authentic and tasty. Slightly on the pricey side but that's ok.
Ordered the Curry Lamb With Rice, Fried Buns, Curry Fish Balls, Chicken and Beef Skewers, Dirty Fried Rice With Chicken and Broccoli With Soy Sauce. Reasonable portions for the most part. All the dishes were very well made. Loved the curry sauce especially. I do think there should’ve been a bit more
Really love their food especially laksa soup very” authentic and yummy. Wonton soup very flavourful and XO sauce fried rice smell really yum and taste fantastic. Overall just amazing 👌
Portions are very generous, can share or save the rest for lunch the next day. Brisket was a little chewy, had to eat the chunks in one mouthful and chew it whole. The place is always busy which is a good sign.
We ordered curry noodles soup.. the curry broth not bad..quite authentic. Just their yong taufu still lack of taste.if compare the one have in kl. But still the food still good.
Make one dish yummy is not difficult, nearly every dishes yummy is difficult, I love this Malaysia restaurant.
First time eating here and tried Laksa. The broth is so rich and flavourful! A very generous portion. It’s a little bit white spicy (I don’t feel it but my partner felt spicy lol). Will definitely come back! Highly recommended.
Genuine Malaysian food. Great laksa dishes. Extensive menu. Generous sized servings. Prompt service even with full house Sunday lunch. Feels like being back in KL. Not cheap, a bit prìcey, but good value .
Great Laksa and Carrot Cake is superb. Hainan Chicken is the best in nz.
Excellent Laksa, tastes very authentic (me coming from a SE Asian nation, I know my Laksa...). A bit pricey now, as it used to be just $15, but now at $19 as of writing. (2021). Wasn't such a fan of marmite chicken, but it was still tasty. Highly recommended. New edit, Laksa now at $25! (Aug 2023)
My palette had the pleasure of savouring the magic of Malaysian cuisine at this humble yet wonderful restaurant, where the star of the show was unequivocally the Fried Noodles Char Kueh Teow. The rich culinary heritage of Malaysia unraveled on my plate as I bit into the beautifully wok-fried flat r
Best Hainanese chicken in the whole New Zealand hands down. Super juicy. Great portion. Lots of bensprouts and very generous with sauce. Must have at Selera. Super sexy chicken.
Very busy Malaysian cafe that is defenitely more popular than justifiable. The food was good but not enough for a spot on my personal favourite restaurants in Auckland. The lovely worker at the cashier was very friendly and happy to ask the staff to make my order even though they were just about to
A bit pricey but have generous servings. They also have a store at the nearby Westfield but I prefer to eat at this place. Food is good most of the time and serving is fast. I would have to say though that I have better options hence the 4 star rating.
