A fun and loud place to start off your night. Their food is also great, loved their pizza and fries. However, they are not vegetarian or vegan friendly. Also gets quite crowded on Fridays and Saturdays.

I went there first time with friends. The ambience is great with large comfortable seating. Everything we ordered was prepared perfectly and fresh. No complaints with the cocktails š¹. We will definitely go back!

Have been here a few times for dinner, quality food, really good. Have also been during the day for a few wines and some nibbles, again really good. Love the music and the energy of this place. A little on the expensive side but completely worth it.

Lovely place, has been there for a Sunday brunch! The outside sitting was really beautiful with the view of the bay! The food was just perfect! Grabbing a beer on a Sunday with mates or family, itās the perfect place!

We ordered Jungle Chicken, half rack St Louis - style glazed pork and a classic margherita pizza. Pork was cooked to perfection, to cook a chicken that juicy and at the same time filled right amount of spices - I feel its a skill, just writing about it makes me hungry!
We followed it Creme Brule and Sticky Date Pudding, trust me we did lick off the entire plates clean!
Must try and ambience is amazing as the location is around the harbour with cold breezy night outside and warm comfortable seatings and lighting inside. Just elevates your mood as you enter. š

Obviously not trying the food. This place is sooooo underrated. The food is frikkin epic, my favourite dish in Auckland is the cheese on toast - at a bloody brilliant $12.
And their pre sunset drinks specials are beyond generous.

Great place to go for an afternoon chill. Outside there is heaps of sitting space and people watching. Bar staff are quite fast. Awesome way to spend a summer afternoon.
Ayoo this place was mad lit. Came here with my work mates and man this place was popping on a Thursday night. Great music and good seating available too. Will definitely come here again. We ordered pizza and some chips. Both were avg but the vibes were great!
An Auckland hotspot! While the place is always buzzing, there is always service and timely food delivery. The prices were a but above what I'd expect BUT once you see the portion size and the quality of the food, you'll see you get what you paid for.
$100 for 2 of us with drinks and a main each was a $100 well spent and would do again.
Also, there's the added benefit of a great music, games and an outdoor seating area.

I love the ambience and the lounges outside near the water. Definitely a great spot for summer. I got the Lychee Aperol Spritz which are two of my favourite things combined together and I love that!
So packed here on a Friday after work - the $25 bottle of sav is the go to. The fries and pizza are delish - just wish they had more umbrellas outside so there is more shade from the sun!
We ordered the cheese on toast and the kingfish sashimi as an entree. The cheese on toast doesn't actually come out as cheese on toast its toast with cheese on the side but it was nice. I've had better kingfish sashimi elsewhere but non the less it was still decent. We also ordered "The HQ flame finished meat board" for 2pax. It was absolutely amazing. However if you're a large couple you would probably need a side dish like we ordered to really tie you over. We ordered the beer battered fries and they were delightful. The only down side is the music is abit loud for dining. Has more of a drinking atmosphere than eating.
Iāve ventured into HQ a few times now and the food always leaves me smiling. Not large portions but elegant comfort food that warms the soul. The evenings are a bit noisy for my aging ears but the lunch environment is perfect for a catch up with a friend or loved one. The staff are friendly and although the service can be a little slow all is forgiven because itās all so very good. Iāll be going back again.
Food is much better than expected. Really good. We had the Whitebait fritters and ugly tomatoes to start followed by meat board for two. All very good. The one downside is the loudness of the music from the bar. Makes it difficult to have a conversation.

Awesome place, can get a bit loud but the staff is really helpful in accommodating you. Very nice ambience and decor. The staff does makes an effort to make you comfortable which is quite good. One of the best medium rare steaks in town, not an iota of doubt over there. Spicy lamp cutlets were awesome too and we ordered one cheesy pizza that was too difficult to resist. We finished off with a board of cheese and accomplishments that were not a disappointment at all. And please donāt forget they have a freaking good collection of beer and whiskies. Would love to visit again and again, cheers

One of the best steaks Iāve ever eaten. The meat platter for two will give you a great taste of the best of their meaty goodness. In fact, one person could enjoy it all on their own.
The whole experience at HQ is one to come back for again and again.
Probably the most eclectic decor Iāve seen at a restaurant in a while, and it works so well.

Love the beef taste at this place the way they make them has that long lingering after taste but a very nice one. The waiters are friendly they like to joke round. Service is not to bad too. My biggest love for this place is the atmosphere music is the best right in the viaduct next to the water. What more can I ask for.
Food and service would be a 3, but I bumped it up one just for the spectacular dƩcor. Really cool place to take instagram pictures of. Food was ok, don't come for the pizza but come for the truffle mash. that was some good stuff. Definitley book however as it is really busy.
My partner and I had a great time at HeadQuarters. Our server was quick to seat us and checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying our meals. Iām really taken aback by the reviews regarding service as the gentleman we had was lovely (we were there last Sat afternoon for lunch).
We got the Te Matukau oysters, Meat & 3 Veg and Wakanui Scotch Fillet. Oysters were a nice start, maybe just a little on the dear side though. Meat & 3 Veg was good but the Wakanui Scotch Fillet won me over. It came out perfectly cooked at medium rare and the sides gave the steak an extra oomph. Would definitely have it again!
If I rated the restaurant on food itself, Iād give it a 4 but with the service and experience a 4.5 is definitely well deserved.
Excellent place for Dinner, amazing atmosphere, excellent food, friendly staff.
I had the skotch fillet (medium) and it was amazing. Other people on the table had Salmon, scallops, pizza and lamb rack and they all had positive feedback about the food. Music a little too loud to have a conversation around the dinner table but we managed ok, overall good place.
We popped in for a quick bite to eat on our way home.
The setting is rather quirky with a sports bar on one side and a restaurant on the other.
We ordered the Spanish Sausage Pizza with chilli, a glass of Moet (which was on a pre sunset special for $15 a glass) a tap beer and a mocktail. Our daughter ordered the truffle mash potatoes.
The service was friendly and efficient but the language of one of the staff members was pretty bad. To be fair I donāt think he took into account that he was in a public space.
All in all pretty average and I donāt think we will be back.
The food was good but some of the staff members were very unfriendly and looked like they were sucking on lemons for the entire service. This put a real dim light on the enjoyment factor.
Awesome vibe and restaurant decor! The chorizo sausage wood fired pizza I ordered was absolutely delicious. Good value wood fired pizza right on the viaduct. The fries were incredible too with the grana padano and truffle oil. Some of my friends meal portions were varied (ie. the duck was very small compared to the rotisserie chicken, yet they were basically the same price). Would come here again for more pizza and chips.

The John Dory was really delicious. Nice vibe and great service. Balinese interiors creates a lovely tropical atmosphere and the copper bar is beautiful. Recommend!

I love the place, can't say anything about the food because we have coffee, beer and chips but still the atmosphere of the place was really awesome
Came here for lunch with my family, we booked a table of around 10 people and tried to make sure we got one of the comfy table seats outside. We talked to them three times about this and even came in the day before to confirm. Firstly they tried to put us on two seperate tables and then placed inside which wasnāt ideal for what we wanted but itās alright. The pizzas we tried were really nice including the two vege ones the salami one which was quite spicy and also the salmon. Cocktails were decent, I had the espresso martini, which was nice, but I can make better myself and also the daiquiri which was really nice. They tried to have good service but wasnāt exceptional, it just seemed liked they forgot about us half the time as it took over 40 minutes to get my daiquiri cocktail. The decor and atmosphere was beautiful. Would like to come back for the comfy couch seats if there was better service.
Dropped in to HQ for a drink first time. Pleasantly greeted by staff. Restaurant was full. Atmosphere was bustling nice vibe a real mixture of people here.
Seating in the casual bar area quite funky and good seating options. Service at the bar could be a bit friendlier. Will go again see what the food is like..

This place has really good food and a prime location. The atmosphere is great and the staff are super friendly and helpful. It took over an hour to get our food but it was quite busy. Maybe next time it would be better if we were told about the wait beforehand

Ā Taking prime position in the Viaduct this new popup bar restaurant, reusing the name HeadQuarters from Beaumont St fame, is the new jewel in the crown of the many Viaduct eateries. Featuring a rustic but compelling interior, with bar area, dining area and watching sports area, HQ hits the spot in many ways. The giant sports screen was put to good use with music videos playing our favourites, and the food and service were top notch.... It is more fine dining than the atmosphere lets on, but we had an awesome time so will be back!
I've never been to this bar before so had no idea what to expect but on arrival there was good music and the setting was lovely with lots of lush greenery. The staff were attentive and welcoming, the food, delicious and Leo can be seen (can't miss the orange jacket :p ) talking to customers and even cleared my table. Wonderful experience.
Wow! That's the sum up word. What we really enjoyed apart from food and drinks, is the service. Highly appreciate Ben who served us and the young girl and a boy (sorry don't know the names) who made a wonderful customized mocktail for us. Definitely will have that next time. Charming place with an opulent and luxurious atmosphere. Really loud music but staff is really patient and friendly (just miss a smile but understand that in a busy times like Friday night, there's no place for one.)
Food is delicious with mostly asian fusion cuisine with a high-end finish.
A pool table was set at some point during the evening, and dancefloor was fully packed with party goers.
Recommend to book as it gets busy easily.
Don't look funny when you are passing the security because they will not allowed wasted individuals women or men to come even with bookings!!

I have been here a few times now for drinks and dinner. Really awesome venue right in the Auckland viaduct. Great spaced dinning areas and bar/dancing area inside too.
The place is really well set outand the staff there are second to none (A+++).
Never any trouble and the food is amazing. It isn't cheap though.

The ceviche was really fresh and delicious, the meat was accurately grilled, the pizza was disappointing that the truffle flavor was light and the pizza that was a little burnt.
But I will go again because I experienced the best steak:)
Yum, yum, yum and great location to boot. We went for an early dinner (with a child) but still busy at this time of year and it was a sunny day. We had a table on the porch and it was lovely - music was loud music and views of the water. Menu had a great selection of food and we will be back to try the pizza. Staff were really good but perhaps a little busy at times.
Great restaurant overlooking the water. Can be busy when the cruise ship comes in. The lamb chops where excellent and also the chicken sandwich was outstanding. Burger was good but they can only cook medium to well-done. Full size shuffle board in The bar area. Outdoor patio weather permitting. Price is on the high end but overall a great experience.

Great food and excellent service - had a nice view from one of the tables in the covered deck area and just really enjoyed the vibe here. We had Oysters and breads to start with beef eyefillet and a pizza for mains. All were yummm as was the beer!

Very vibrant and lively even on a weeknight! The service was superb, we felt very looked after eventhough the place was packed. The food was beautiful especially the lamb,,, wished i ordered one just for myself.

1st time to spend friday late night at this place with my daughter in law, son and his friends. Was a good and satisfying night, food and drinks are of good taste. Staff knows has to control the crowd, there's an appropriate place for every age. Will definitely be back here.
