I love this cafe! I have tried the counter food and the kitchen food and both were great. The Omelette was huge and I couldn't finish the whole thing. The ambience is really good (although not many seats). Would have loved the place to be open for longer!
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this cafe. It has a nice cozy feel to the place (probably because there is a soft couch) with overly friendly staff. I enjoyed the coffee and food here too. I ordered a scone for $3.90, which most other places usually would for $4.5. I wasn't going to get any food but for that price why not? Oh and it was delicious!!
Love this place, it's almost like a hidden little gem for me since I would find myself here to be super relaxed when everything is busy. Food are great and very affordable prices as well. Definitely recommended.
Love this little cafe that's tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Queen Street. The staff are friendly and the decor gives it a cosy vibe.
Price is pretty good compared to other cafes around town, my friend got the chocolate brownie which she really liked but thought the flat white was a bit strange. I got a savoury brioche which had a slight kick in it from the spices.
Overall a pretty decent place to relax or meet up with a friend for coffee :)
Came in for a morning tea snack with a friend today after handing in our assignment. We walked pass this cafe in the morning on the way to uni and wanted to try it out right away.
Ended up trying out the biscotti from the cabinet. The biscotti was larger than the average ones we see at cafes. It was hard as expected but the level of sweetness was on point. The match with the prunes inside was so delicious. Really considered buying another one.
The bread that came with the soup of the day wasn't too hard to be able to eat by itself, which was good. Was also served with a slab of butter and a nice smile from the staff :)
I went there for lunch, and I had Blackstone Eggs which consisted of two pieces of sourdough, two poached eggs, fried potatoes and roasted tomatoes. I also had an iced latte. The winner for me of this cafe was definitely their poached eggs. Each one was made to perfection, and the yolks were runny enough to dip the bread into. I would definitely recommend coming to Albert Park Cafe if you were looking for a quiet place to chat or get together with friends and family.
Wow!!! Lovely place! Only negative was the feel of the place and the interior. My picture is of the nice corner, other than that the interior is not the best really. But food: wow! Loved the menu, a lot of mushroom and a lot of vegetarian options, which personally really fits me. I had the Mrs. Florentine: a bagel with poached egg, mushroom and hollandaise. Friend had mushroom toast. Both meals gets a 10/10 honestly! Coffee is also great and staff is super friendly. Would really recommend! Free WiFi as well.
Consistently good food, service and place to hang out. Love the size and the decor. Staff that are friendly, accommodating. Pure inner-city Auckland. Fab for breakfast, lunch or coffee/tea. A lovely place to e able to enjoy a meal or respite from a day of meetings, to reflect and to work.
I haven't done a review in so long but this place is practically begging for one, so here goes.
Albert Park Cafe is one of the few places I'm glad I stumbled across for multiple reasons. The cafe itself is quaint and cozy, yet it doesn't feel overcrowded but instead 'homey.' Tucked away between Lorne Street and Albert Park, this place is not often full of people and so is perfect for a quiet brunch or study session. There's free stable wifi too, which is a plus.
The food here is amazing. I haven't tried much of the cabinet food so I can't comment on those, but what they have available on the menu is definitely worth trying. In particular, I recommend the Soup of the Day (I've had Beef Goulash most of the times I come here) and the Mushrooms on Toast. For the given prices, $10.50 and $15.50 respectively, I believe you certainly get your money's worth.
The Soup of the Day comes with a delicious, hot soup which is perfect for any occasion and two slices of toast, which you can swap out for multigrain, sourdough, or bagels. The Beef Goulash is generously full of beef chunks and vegetables and is absolutely delicious. The Mushrooms on Toast comes with 2~3 slices of toast and is creamy deliciousness on a plate. They use a variety of mushrooms in it with some parmesan cheese + a poached egg which adds to its richness. I was honestly shocked at how good it was upon my first bite. I don't drink coffee anymore so I can't comment on that :)
Service here is also super friendly! Both the lady and the gentleman provide exceptional service and help to recommend dishes, which is perfect for someone as indecisive as me. You don't have to wait too long for food to arrive as well. There is also free tea that changes once in a while available. I love having the barley tea after a gym session.
Overall, I highly, highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for high quality, delicious cafe food. The cozy atmosphere and free wifi is an additional bonus, particularly for students like me who only needs stable wifi and good food to keep up studies. I really wish that this place is open for longer beyond 3pm because I could sit here all day!
Edit: Don't think they do soup anymore :( Found a new favourite menu item though! This place is just a gift that keeps on giving. Their yoghurt panna cotta with granola is absolutely delicious, and I love how the fruit changes every time I order. I get mine without the honey because I think the granola is plenty sweet already, but the panna cotta really brings the entire dish together.
Recommended: Soup of the Day [Discontinued...for now?], Mushrooms on Toast [Edit]: Panna Cotta Granola.
Lovely, friendly employees, cosy place (they provide books), delicious coffee and amazing customer service♡ I am in love with their caramel latte
I like this place! Its a little different. I like their outdoor seating, their tasty water, their coffee and their snacky food. I'd like it more if it embraced being a little more different. Good, underrated option if you're in that end of town.
Lovely setting and friendly staff. Good choice of cabinet and menu food. My bacon and chicken roll was delicious; the tasty bread was perfectly toasted but the greens inside stayed fresh. Excellent coffees. Cost $30 approx. for two of us.
Tried their Mushroom Omelette and Banana and Berry Smoothie for breakfast.
The portion was great. And everything in the food were fresh and cooked very well. The omelette comes with the little pan which keeps the food warm for a longer time so I could enjoy my meal slowly and nicely.
The Smoothie was also very delicious. Very refreshing !
Was a nice start of a busy day!
I had a meeting in Kitchener Street a few weeks ago amd the PA brought us back some toasted sandwiches for lumch.
I had to ask the PA where she got it from amd this was the place. So come ANAZC weekend (tuesday following) I had to try this place out.
I only tasted the toasted sandwhiches here but the menu looked pretty decent. So my rating is only reflective of this. Def worth it.
The eggs benedict here is to die for! I love how cozy the cafe is as well, it's a really nice place to go for brunch with friends and just chill. Even better, you can sit outside and look out at Albert Park on a sunny day which is really relaxing. Super glad to have found this gem :)
Love this place.
Food is always delicious, and coffee is usually on point. A great place to go if you're a student and need a study nest. Free wifi there a long as you check in there via Facebook. The atmosphere there is really calm and relaxing, they've also got games and books there that are free for use. The service is always really friendly there too. It's set in a nice location, just beside Albert Park so it's not too congested there.
I came here last week for brunch before spending a few hours at the library for research. It was a bit of a nostalgic trip as I haven't been for years, I was a daily regular back when it first opened as The Black Crow as I worked next door at the time. The original owner/operator was such a great guy.
The menu is standard and while I would have loved the spicy eggs on the menu they came with a four bean mix and the sauce is premixed so wasn't possible. After a short discussion at the counter I took the eggs benedict with bacon and substituted bread for the polenta. It was pretty good, just the right amount of sauce on top. The latte was good too. The cafe is small and looks across the street to the greenery of Albert Park so has a nice outlook for the central city. The cafe was quietly busy and a delightful place to spend some time.
The staff are helpful and clear the tables efficiently.
Came in here for the first time with my dad for breakfast and ordered the mr.Benedict. It came with bacon and spinach and these garlic crispy bread things which were really nice!
I really enjoyed the food and coffee and will definitely be going back for the eggs Benny:D
Surprise find! This is a lovely cafe, clean, nice decor! I had a wonderful salmon bagel which was full! My partner had a great looking ham sandwich which was also full of filling! Great value for money quick service and friendly!
So already onto a winner then the coffee! The coffee was super made!
My only constructive comments are that the plates our sandwiches were served on should have been small as they just looked over sized with the food on them! The main menu looked pretty good and I would hesitate to coming back again to stay off queen st and the high st!
Came here for brunch a while ago with a friend and had a good experience. This little cafe is super cute and staff are friendly. I had the garden eggs benedict which was so good, the homemade pesto drizzled around it made a great accompaniment to tie the smooth mushroom and avocado flavours together. I also ordered a chai latte which was a good amount of spice too. Overall good experience and definitely worth a pop in for coffee or tea with some cabinet food, especially if you're up at uni!
Super cute and tucked away. Atmosphere and decor is very relaxed and home-like yet still maintains a classy elegance to it. Food is delicious and cheap too! Perfect place for a quick lunch and coffee that is in a handy location for Uni.
Great value. Excellent breakfast choices
Holly and her crew are amazing, food made on site is delicious, and the sweets are to die for.
Best cinnamon brioche in Auckland, and don't get me started on the gluten free brownie.
This cafe is an unassuming little gem in the heart of the city.
This cafe's food is much superior to most other cafe's. Their beetroot and lentil dish is a standout.
They make very good coffee and the service is excellent.
LOVE the food here and the staff. Always friendly and obliging. The food is tasty and adventurous. Coffee is great as well! Today I had a "Warm organic home-smoked chicken salad on baby rocket"...absolutely delightful flavours and so fresh. Thanks "Albert Park Cafe" team...you guys are awesome! See you again soon.
It's so good to have this little oasis with a good coffee and yummy little pastries so close from the madness of the city or university. Definitely worth a visit!
Cool that they're open till 5pm - better than most cafes (still think all should be open till 6pm).
Amazing in every way!
Coffee made to perfection, with a glorious silky milk, served by excellent staff. Pleasure was had with every sip, on a beautiful day, looking towards the luscious Albert Park, and the eye candy of the human traffic was the best!
My only issue was the guilt that I could not stay longer.

With regard to the last post, this must have been a rare bad day for these guys as i come here all the time and it is definitely one of my favourite cafes around.. i have had the steak sandwich a few times and it has been perfect every time. i find the staff super friendly, theres a real homely feel here. perhaps they had extra staff on if it was a busy day and those guys werent up to scratch.
coffee is great and i am addicted to their cinnamon brioche!
A morning doesn't go by when I don't think of coming in here! Great coffee, great people and breakfasts are awesome.
On a sunny day it's really nice to sit outside and overlook the park. This is an awesome friendly local for me - such a rarity in the city yet so close!
I really like the coffee and ambience here.
I have tried various other cafes and still like the coffee here best of all.
A quaint little cafe tucked away on Kitchener St; I popped in for a quick coffee break between University classes. The place was dimly lit, and created a nice mood on that particular rainy day. The menu was a standard cafe style, with some delicious looking cabinet food up the front as well.
I ordered a cappuccino and a savoury muffin, and they both arrived very quickly considering the amount of other diners there were in the cafe. The coffee wasn't bad, but I've definitely had better, and the muffin was super soft and quite tasty. We didn't order any of the meals, but the ones I saw on the tables around us looked pretty good. We stayed a while after finishing our drinks/food, and was pleasantly surprised when the waitress bought over glasses of water without us even asking; a very nice touch to the customer service.
Loved this cafe. Cozy place for conversation, breakfast/lunch and coffee. Friendly staff, recommend if you're in the area. The only negative was parking, not easy to find so had to park at the garage next door. We were here for a while so ended paying $55 NZD which was $35 USD otherwise would have driven for hours trying to find parking.
every bite of this brunch was DELICIOUS. I wanted more! Black stone eggs ($19.50) and a flat white. Friendly service and felt very welcoming. Definitely coming back soon!!
A warm, friendly and cozy cafe where many locals seems to frequent. It was obvious that many were return customers and the staff were friendly and familiar to them. This is usually a good sign of a beloved cafe. I too experienced exceptional service with personalized recommendations by the pastry chef himself. I had his home-made flourless chocolate brownie that had a perfect balance of texture and flavour. Prior to that I had the most divine mushrooms on toast that was served with a poached egg. The toast soaks up the garlic infused mushroom sauce and I was in gastronomic heaven. The free wifi was much appreciated too. I will definitely be heading back there cos although it is in the city, it is tucked away from the crowds and overlooks Albert Park.
Great place with friendly owners. George (his beautiful back is on the photo) is a man behind cakes, sandwiches and scones which he personally makes every morning. Jordan (his hat is on the background) is a customer service star. Coffee is one of the best around. Pay them a visit, you won’t regret. This might look like a paid review but it is not, but I’ll try to get a free coffee for it on my next visit :)
Loved loved loved the food and coffee at this chic little cafe. The guy on the counter was super sweet and very happily replaced meat with veggies as we are vegetarians. So great options are available for vegetarians as well 😇
Nice chilled place for breakfast, would highly recommend.
Great food- really tasty. Coffee also good.
Little cozy place. The omelette in skillet are really good. Good coffee too. Would come back again if around the Albert park.
Excellent coffee, great selection of healthy food. Friendly staff. Convenient to CBD, Albert Park and Auckland Art Gallery.
We’d just landed and needed a filling breakfast, this certainly did the trick. Beautiful place with outdoor seating option. Omelette was good, just wish it was less oil-heavy.
Outstanding. Scones were awesome, great coffee. Nice atmosphere.
Tip top brekkie with dynamite coffee. Also has great ambience and super cute tables outside on the slope. Recommended.
We came back twice to this lovely cafe.. The smoothies are amazing! On the second day we both had cooked breakfast - really delicious! High attention to detail, lovely music and relaxing. Highly recommended for the quality of food and friendly service :)
Charming place with excellent coffee. Enjoyed thoughtful polite service and a great laid back local vibe. I had a flat white which was smooth and mellow with a nice punch of caffeine. Didn't order food but saw a nice array of breakfast items on offer. Nice start to the day and conveniently located near the Pullmann Hotel, Albert Park and Auckland Gallery. So glad I stopped by.
Fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food + coffee. An underrated treasure in the heart of Auckland City!
Coffeearoma nearly like in Italy. Very tasty Cappuccio and a delicious cheesecake.
This is a lovely spot, particularly coming into the nicer weather. The owner/operators are very nice. It is quite spacious and a good place to sit and get some work done while having a coffee either inside or outside. Would recommend to stop by!
Great coffee, friendly staff, calm vibe and a nice central location. The food was delicious - we had The legend (which was legendary) and the Blackstone eggs. I definitely recommend this lovely cafe
The best breakfast I ever had. Small cosy place with friendly staff, a lot of amazing different breakfast choices, it's beautifully served and takes no time to get ready. A wonderful place to start your day!
