New to Auckland thn Father Ted's is a place to visit. Good place with a rocking music, finger licking food and top of that beers Guinness😍🍺🍺
Lovely nice bar and it has got everything -big screen , pool table , live music and delicious food. We came here for an office meetup and enjoyed the Saturday night live music. The place is not too big and has old furnishings inside but we liked their style. The singer was hilarious and song selection were accurate . We would like to come here again on a big rugby match day :)
Good work guys !
It was a lovely hot summer's day and we fancied sitting outside watching the crowds go by. I had a Panini with fries, my wife had the roast beef meal. We both enjoyed our meals, my wife commented on how nice her beef was, so of course, I had to try to make sure she had not kissed the Cloch na Blarnan, but yes I had to agree with her.
Mine was washed down with a nice pint of Kilkenny . Our friendly and helpful waitress even went a found a glass with a handle for me.
We'll be back next time we in town.
went there to have a meal, food was awesome, generous portion very tasty vegetables and sauce, everything came very fast but table was dirty and we had to wait for someone until our food arrive.
Not a bad experience.
Love this place😍 always a good time ! Good crowd, food, music and DRINKSS❤️☺️
Tuesday steak nights are my favourite and they always cook the steak to perfection 😍
If you're after a decent roast this is the place to come! Generous potions of everything and loads of meat! I think it was only $12 on a sunday as well! Amazing!!
Very friendly staff and management.
The steak is to die for, mash and mushroom sauce.
The breakfast rolls are divine.
Great craic and banter.
A huge slab of steak with a giant helping of mash and delicious sauce for just $13! I would say that's definitely a good deal. ;) This is now my new go to steak house when the steak craving happens.
This is my Go To pub in auckland. Was here 3x a week as the staff were very friendly.
It has a billiard table. Awesome fun each night as each night has different programs by the pub.
I've finally gone to a place with a bartender who actually knows how to pour a beer. I didn't realise that beer could taste different depending on how you pour it. Atmosphere is great and very welcoming, a great place for recreational drinking.
The live music with the friendly staff
Who doesn't like an Irish pub.
I just go for drinks Heineken costs five dollars.
They do have good singers who come and perform .
I have never tried the food.
The place is packed and there always good vibes
Great place with live music, Friday night is probably the best time to go along with friends and their is just terrific. Usually a full house though, but it's worth it.
Great Irish pub! Live music is always awesome and really friendly staff. Had some very fun times here. With lots of travellers there it gives it a fun and free atmosphere.
Good place to catch up with friends over a beer or 5.
Staff are great, drinks are a fair price. I didn't order food but I heard it is okay priced and average in quality.
My husband and I visited this pub on our second day in New Zealand from Canada. All of the staff especially Patrick were awesome. There was live music which was great and the food was second to none. Best fish and chips I've ever had.
Love this place. Super deals on drinks like $5 Heineken on Sundays! Good old pub grub food and of course the live music really does create a fun atmosphere.
Noisy noisy Irish pub. Usually filled with travellers as its close to several backpackers. Regularly filled with daytime drinkers. Go for a beer and the atmosphere, food is your standard pub fare.
The best ever irish pub in AucklanD city... Everything food, music, ambience... Hats off... Perfect place for a happening evening.. tried beef nachoes. Next to heaven... Loved it
By far the best Irish pub in town! When in doubt - Father Ted's is where I end up. The crowd is always cheery and awesome and I love nothing more than a cheeky Wednesday beer here after work.
My friend and I ate here regularly for lunch which isn't too bad for the price however our last outing wasn't as pleasant with the food looking quite sloppy. The place even seemed darker than normal and it smelt more than usual. That particular visit with the sloppy meal sort of put us off going back for lunch.
We went to this place on my graduation for celebrations. We sat down for a chat which was great as you could feel the Irish Fusion style of ambiance with light music in the background and there were people keen on watching rugby game on the TV. It was great as they gave sauce/dips with the finger food , which was served promptly after ordering. #ClassicBeer. It was good as the ladies who were as bar tenders were really friendly. We had a good long chat and left the place before the evening rush. During that Night, Me and my friend came again for quick late night drinks when the bar was noisy/funny, as there were guys drinking, singing and dancing with others intimidatingly funnily dressed as clowns. Me and my friend had drinks at the outdoor table and left the place as it was around midnight and we eventually had late night eats at Kebabs on Queen. #MemorableDay #JoyfulNight
This is an Irish style pub in Auckland. Of the type it is not bad. The atmosphere is quite good, there seem to be mixture of patrons from tourist through locals and the occasional individual who seems to have strayed in from living on the streets.
It has a slightly disreputable charm which I tend to put down to the fact that it is a dark room with not a lot of natural light. The Guinness is quite good, the bar staff are competent and the food is typical pub food. This is not an airy fairy gastropub, but the food provided is not too bad, it has no pretensions and all the more welcome for that.
To be preferred to other perhaps more 'up them selves locales'
Great place for a Sunday afternoon hair of the dog. Good value roast dinner
Not pretentious and windows are over-rated in any case. Good pint and good craic. Decent pub steak too. Live music a bit faux but tolerable and they don't charge for it so bearable in my book. A wee piece of Holloway just off Queen St.
We chose this after wandering the unfamiliar area checking out options. It was opposite the theatre and seemed to have best range of cheap and cheerful food to meet the teen to gold card age group. There were five of us, three ordered steak, one a pizza and the other the BLT. The meals were huge, no-one managed to finish the meal even the ravenous teenage male! The steaks were cooked to perfection, the chips were crisp outside & fluffly inside. The pizza and BLT met all expectations. Staff were friendly & service was quick.
wow that last review has really shocked me . I have been to father teds several times especially for there steak nights on mondays and tuesdays which are always packed . I found the food there to be very good value for money and quite tasty
Is the Pope a Catholic? Is Father Ted's an Irish Pub? I'll let you answer, needless to say, if you've been to an Irish bar in Auckland City, you can take that cookie cutter out and stamp it onto a Father Ted's shape. Add a little bit of spit and sawdust and you've made yourself a Father Ted's experience. Still, if you've been out on the Guinness all night and you want to step it up a notch then 'Ted's is a good venue to go.
Father Ted's has a good selection of ales and stouts by the pint, but really, the main reason you go to Father Ted's is for the Craic. The place is always jumping come Friday or Saturday night, the live bands are always really interactive and lively and usually pretty decent musicians.
As Zomato is a food review site, I'll surmise the food. I've eaten there once. Two words: No awards. The menu is basic pub fayre, it's not presented well, it tastes average but the prices are within the rates you'd expect to pay for the sort of food. No great complains, no great shakes either. Go here and drink, be merry, enjoy the Craic, don't especially come for the food!
Home away from home in the heart of the city - the staff are SO lovely, the NZ cider is dry and tasty, the Guinness is good, and they have a pool table! The music is perfect. Sure it's a bit pokey but the people make up for it. I'm a big fan of the outdoor bench. Long live Father Ted's and don't forget to tip (ah go on... Go on, go on, go on)

Fine. Good place within the CBD a drink and snacks.
Great little place to sit down with a beer, cider, or other beverage of choice. They offer a selection of foods which are all pretty good pub fare.
Games like pool are available, and they will occasionally host live music.
If you want a warm welcome, good hearty grub and a nice glass of guiness/wine, then this place is perfect. Will not be for everyone if you need something a bit fancier. Family of 3 and the drinks and food were very reasonable in an expensive city. Good music and pool table too
Lively in the evening. Food coming out of the kitchen looked good. Mixed crowd from old Irish men yelling over a game of pool to young travellers. There was a fantastic musician playing Monday night! The bloke was Irish and played a flute, a pipe, drum, guitar, and sang a bunch of Irish songs. It was fantastic!
One of the best bar in town & highly recommended, yummy food & friendly services
If you're looking for a classic Irish pub, same like in Ireland, go there, and have a good time, by that I mean, have a couple of pints and enjoy yourself, Slainte! 🎉
An oldie but a goodie. Just your old school pub. Not fancy smancy. Good crowd. Not too busy. Usual range of beers in tap with a few crafts.
A lovely bloke played some of my favorite Irish jigs and Ballard's. Always good live music, friendy staff and tradional pub grub
Excellent little bar opposite the old civic center, great vibes.
A little rundown but looks like they're renovating at present.
Great atmosphere, nice live music
Nice range of beers spirits. Great burgers
We had a really great time here, drinks and pizza was so good we made a Youtube video including this place at @LuchitoyVale
Guinness was A1. Magners was A1. It's lovely that the server is Irish. A really lovely find
