Came here for the restaurant month deal for $25 for 5 proteins, one salad, two sides and sauces. The taste was great but the portions were so small!!! I mean I get it was only $25 but the amount to share between 6 people was almost pathetic. A bit of a shame because the food did taste good. Not sure what the portion sizes for standard menu options are like though.
Friendly place on the side of CWD. The fried chicken was delicious, likely the best I’ve had in Auckland, felt authentic to the BBQ joints in the US south. The Mac and cheese was alright, savoury but not that interesting otherwise. The kombucha they have is absolutely delicious and I’m hoping to buy it in bulk!
Centrally located just off Wellesley St near Sky City. Love the chicken sandwich and sausages. Casual but comfortable setting which is nice. Friendly staff. Hope to come back for more.
I live just across the road from this place and have only just discovered it. This place is a city gem and we need to keep the secret. Please don’t tell ppl that the food here is excellent. The beer is wow. The ambience is wonderful. How have I not known about this place. Oh I forgot. It’s a secret. Don’t tell too many people.
Order the anchovies! They are fun to eat!
The beer tray was great! Got tipsy from 0-100 real quick after a couple of trays.
Will be back again - the food was yummy.

really good experience here, was our first time coming here and the waitress on was very helpful on helping us try the right beer we wanted, the beer was great and the pizza was delicious! Easy to eat and drink, great chill vibes as well !
This is like beer heaven! Next to the counter you can find, say, 100 different labels, so you'll surely find something that's suits you.
Staff knows all about it and the tap beers are also great. They also have a menu with a few options of pizza and entrees, usually average, but the place is actually good to have a cold beer by the end of the day.
Brothers Beer is a brewery, tap room and bottle shop with three locations around Auckland. The most central location is at City Works Depot and it’s here you’ll find 18 craft beers on tap and over 200 refrigerated bottles to drink on site or take away.
Chill place to get a beer with a friend.
Love that there is a large variety of beers on tab!
My all time favorite is SENSE OF CALM. It's a must try delicious beer with peachy undertones. Thanks to this beer I now know I like beers with fruity undertones. Delicious!
I've tried getting similar beers at other places/breweries but they all end up being too sweet and cider-ish.
Went here for pizza and beers with a few mates. Pizza was fine- 4 cheese was yum. Beer was the highlight, as it should be. Also the music playlist was dope
Good vibes, decent menu, reasonable priced food and beverages, plus a good variety. Awesome chilled out atmosphere! Definitely would go back.
Great spot for pizza & a beer particularly on a nice day as their outdoor area is great for chilling out.
Well known for their awesome beer selection - try something new when you visit. Pizzas are yum - they do serve other food too including some delish chicken wings.
Fanatastic environment, very friendly staff, a broad selection of both tap and bottled beer. Would definitely recommend to anyone. My American friends approve also.
Cool place, fire alarm drill while I was here - that's OK as they have seating outside, had the Brothers Wheat, a nice 5.5 alcohol, 340mls for $9, heaps of other beer to choose here, it was a warm sunny day so that's why I choose the Wheat. Very friendly staff and they let you sample first +++.
Love their beer esp their dark beers (brothers black) Place is small but cute and has a good vibe going. We have picked up bottles a couple of times. Shame it closes at 10 pm :(
So just the day after I arrived from my trip to the USA (big blog post on this coming soon), I was scheduled to attend a beer tasting session at Brothers Beer, organised by good ol’ Zomato. Now, first of all, I am not much of a beer drinker… in fact I am not much of a drinker period. I enjoy the occasional wine, but I CBF paying $50 for a jetlagged Game of Rhones experience (also taking place that day – which is probably where all the foodies were). Secondly, is there even a thing known as beer tasting? A quick look at the conspicuous beer bellies of my companions for the afternoon provided me the answer. As our friends at Tui would say…

We visited Brothers for lunch on a sunny Saturday. The decor is rustic kiwiana and reminds me of an old bach…or a junk store. The couch seating suited us better than the tables as we had a 2 year old with us and stools just don’t work for little ones.
We ordered 2 flights of beer and also a jug once we had finished those. The flights are a fun way to try a few beers, though in future, I would probably select the beers rather than let them choose for us as there were a few in there that we wouldn’t have selected.
The menu is small and there are a range of pizzas on offer. We ordered a couple of pizzas, spicy chicken wings, garlic bread and potatoes to share. The food took a little while to arrive which I suspect was because we arrived right at opening. Unfortunately they burned one pizza and therefore ran out of that one but supplied the substitute pizza free of charge. They were super apologetic and we were happy with the outcome. The food is OK. I wouldn’t make a trip out just for the food, but if your’e after a nibble to go with your beer, then a pizza and some wings will suffice.
The staff were friendly and helpful and when it got really hot as the sun heated the room, they switched on a fan for us.
I probably wouldn’t return due to the fact that their Mt Eden branch is miles better and just around the corner.
Came here a few times for afternoon beers, very low key have a great selection and tasting menu, (of beers)
If your stuck for ideas for a lazy sunny day beer. Head here
Stopped for a pre-dinner drink on the way out for the evening. We can recommend the relaxed atmosphere with the 70's decor amidst the brewery tanks.
Absolutely love love love this place...love the range of beers on tap and bottled.
Great atmosphere, love the layout a must for the craft beer lover
Must come back to try the food
I was invited to Brothers Beer for a Zomato event and could have stayed all day. We sampled 6 beers and the one I enjoyed the most happened to be brewed right on site. We were then offered a few more and of course didn't say no. Amongst the tasting were the pizzas, and they were fantastic. A large meal for one or enough to share between a couple, the meatlovers one I tasted was delicious.
After the sampling and stories we got lost in the 'bottle shop' aspect of the venue, where you can find almost any craft beer to either enjoy there (they have chilled and unchilled options) or take home. We bought a single bottle of beer for $24 and it was amazing, something I'd never have known could be experienced here in Auckland. Yeah, you may be able to find one or two cheaper elsewhere, but there is such a range of specialties that you'll probably discover something unexpected.
The even better news? They're opening another venue soon. Well worth a visit!
Personally I think CWD (City Works Depot) is a great spot with a great selection of awesome eaterys, and while Brother's Brewery is not specifically a restaurant, this was another of the awesome spots in the area.
My latest Zomato meet up brought me to check out Brother's Brewery to check out their brewing setup, a brief tour of their brewery area and a sampling of several of their awesome brews on tap (with a total of 18 brews on tap + more than 200 beers in bottles and cans).
The crew at Brother's Brewery have a 4800 litre capacity brewery on site, brewing a variety of awesome house beers.
During our tasting session we sampled around 8 different beers from around the globe, with a wide range of styles, strengths and tastes.
My favourite brews that were on offer were the Gigantic Baltic Porter (Portland, Oregon), the Batch Brewing Beachstone Pilsner and the Speakeasy Double IPA (USA).
With the epic selection of beers you can have on site, and also purchase to take home, Brothers Beer is now one of my favourite places to find new brews to try out, and stock up on lasting favourites.
In addition to all of the amazing beers available, their pizza menu is also awesome. I checked out the Spicy Salami w/ Red Pepper and the Carnivore w/ spicy salami manuka bacon and ham, and would definitely recommend them!
I will definitely be heading back for more!
Absolutely love this place. Such an impressive beer selection! I was able to find my favourite brews from California and the Bay Area, and every single time I visit, I have the opportunity to try something new and develop my beer tastes. I would recommend spending an evening here, over visiting beer festivals in Auckland, because Brothers pretty much stocks everything and has a great vibe. Sometimes I do wish there was more on the menu to eat and nibble on, but their pizzas seem to do the trick for now.
Been there for a friends birthday. Selection of beers is very good. We had a couple trays of the testers and continued drinking our way through the fridge. The pizzas were great too. Especially the chilli prawn one was great. Great place to enjoy a couple brews, only downside is the close quite early.
Fan of craft beers? Just want to chill out and enjoy a few brews with friends? Want to see and sample some crazy beers made by ze Germans? Then check this place out. It's a small and quaint establishment with knowledgeable staff who can help you choose from a vast selection of beverages from around the world or from their own set of very well crafted beers. (This place has a kitchen as well where you can order pizza and other bits and pieces to compliment your choice of drink(s)).

Amazing selection of brews, a bit tight but only because it's full at the obvious times. The pizza is ideal after a couple of the heavier ales. Highly recommended
Brothers has a pretty kickass selection of craft beer and really knowledgeable chill staff. Lately theyre stock hasnt been quite as impressive as usual but still love this place!
Hidden gem for beer lovers! Ridiculously awesome selection!!!
This is what I was looking for from ages.
Finally found it. Vast range of beers.
Beers you never heard before with funny names. Loved em.
As i been there with bunch of my friends after a cricket game we'd never seen something like this before. There Croucher Pilsner was great. After that we tried couple more beers and all of them were better than each other. I highly recommend this place for people who love craft beers.
What a wonderful find! Being British I am always on the lookout for proper beer! 18 craft beers on tap packed with flavour (not served so damned cold that you can't taste those flavours!) with alcohol volumes of up to 10% plus. Selection always changing and they are in the process of installing their own micro brewery. There is also a vast range of bottled beers from around the world. Great pizza to help soak up that beer. Live jazz most Saturday evenings between 6 and 9pm. Our new regular "local". Friendly and informative staff.
Extremely nice food! Friendly service. Quite good choice of beers. Strongly recommend.
The bbq and cider were both just what we were looking for. We had time to kill and were pleasantly surprised at variety of cider available. The BBQ was the best we've had in years. Their ample indoor and outdoor seating makes this place great to hang out at or just grab a bite.
Nothing fancy but a place to bring you the heart warmth in your daily life. To find some simple happiness. Very good food. Awesome amount they are offering as well. Very tasty. The beer is good quality as well. Can't complain a thing. Will definitely comeback 10/10.
Rob was a great host at Brothers beers, really helpful and knowledgeable on the products and gave some excellent suggestions on the food. Plentiful beer options on tap and the food was excellent. Quirky joint with some eclectic design ideas and a very cool DVD collection!
Amazing place to come for BBQ. Recommend going for the brisket and ribs but go for the Buffalo hot sauce. Service friendly and casual. I’m surprised it wasn’t more busy for on a Saturday at noon.
Delicious foods, enjoyed our flights and service. Wonderful cool atmosphere.
Loved my time at Brothers Beer. Great knowledgeable staff who were really helpful in choosing what to drink (the guy from Belgium!!) . Fantastic selection of beers with a really diverse menu. Not overly expensive for the quality of good craft beers available. Would recommend this bar to any beer lover.
Two and a half years and I finally got back to the local beer heaven. So relaxing and unique, and has tons of board games for groups and magazines for solo entertainment. Not only do they have like 15 taps, but they also sell TONS of individual bottles too. Ultra friendly staff. Outdoor seating as well.
For note, bathrooms are a few doors down.
Superb sale of craft beers on tap and further variety of packaged ones. Quirky 80's decor and paraphernalia inside, which I love. Had an excellent chat with David the barkeep and enjoyed a few beers with some nice wings. They have outdoor tables for the warmer and longer evenings. If you like good craft beers, within the actual semi-operational brewery, this is for you.
Awesome beer selection, love the Thunderbird and Tintin references. Comfy couches in which you can enjoy your flight. The guys working here are super nice and helpful. A must go in Auckland🍺! (+there's free wifi)
Great 1-2 after brunch at Odettes. Flights of beer are $18. Lots of board games to kill the time. I didn’t get the pizzas but they looked amazing.
Literally just ordered off uber eats, if it taste this good via delivery can't imagine how much this would have been better dine-in. Very very good
Great beer, great bartenders, if you bring great company you will have a great time. This was my first beer stop in Auckland and the bartender lead me through picking one of the better flights I have had the opportunity to enjoy. Cheers mate
Nice setting not far from the sky needle,a selection of 18 beers on tap with plenty of bottles and cans to choose from also the staff were knowledgeable and friendly and the beer was moderately priced.
Great staff and the beer tasting experience was brilliant. Wish the pizza was a bit better though.
Reply: The base could be less dry. Had a bit of a cardboard texture. Toppings actually seemed like good quality ingredients! Cheers
Definitely recommend, amazing meats and chips, best platters in New Zealand, if you are near by Definitely stop in.
Probably the best place in the city outside of the viaduct area to enjoy a beer. Naturally a huge selection of draft beers with pizzas and other side menus available.
Great craft beers and good pizza. Really a good place for relaxing and have some drinks.
