Curries are their best, it cost more to eat here so take away is cheaper. Limited parking but food is amazing.
First time purchase , We ordered the Chicken Satay and the Crispy Duck with sticky rice. The meal was absolutely delicious, the staff were very pleasant though the boss lady was very business like and did not seem to smile, But hey food this good who cares about a little grumpiness. We will definitely be going back , very well priced too.
Very nice staff
Good service
Fair price
A lot of parking in night time
Lunch Menu can't use Zomato Gold discount
Very nice place
Gooooooooood
Super friendly and polite staffs, recommended me the tomyum soup. Which tasty really good. Environment nice and clean, service really fast. Will come back try other dishes.
We had a great meal, the staff were lovely and super polite our food was prompt and very tasting. We will definitely return to this restaurant. We had the sweet chilli fish, the chicken red curry and a prawn rice.. the Roti was amazing
Very friendly and polite staff here. The waiter was able to answer all my questions in details and gave very good recommendation. It’s very helpful for someone who can’t decide what to order, like me lol.
Food 7/10 Service 8/10 Ambience 5/10
Patpong panang 8/10
This dish is sooooo flavourful! Very nice and strong peanuts flavour shines through and goes very well with rice. Loved it!
Lemon steamed fish 6/10
Been craving lemon steamed squid ever since our last trip to Thailand. We weren’t able to find any places in Auckland that does it yet, so we had to go for the next best thing. The lemon steamed fish here is served like how they do it in Bangkok, love it. The lemon flavour could be a bit stronger though.
Our fave thai place have never left unhappy. We usually get the same curry and starters and have tried newer dishes too. All great quality. The ambience and staff are great too
Had dinner here with my family for a birthday and what an amazing experience it was. Cozy restaurant, with waiters who were always attentive. Although the food took a while to come out, the food was great. Their curry puff pastry was a little bit to thick for my liking and the sticky rice was too sticky and rock hard to eat, however I did enjoy my Green Curry. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. One thing we all noticed is that we didn’t need to season our food. I would definitely come back for more. I’m sooo glad that there is good Thai restaurant nearby.
Food was very good not amazing but for the cost was great quality, really love this place, go quite often and staff are lovely, nice quiet place not usually super busy which is nice
I've had the best Tom Yum prawn throughout Auckland in this restaurant. Food is super authentic. I'm giving them 5 stars 🌟! The place is small but the staff are super friendly...
Love this place! The whole snapper is amazing! Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Have been here for dinner both early and later and it has always had people there.
Best Thai place in Auckland! Lots of meat and variety of veges! Very consistent.
Personal favorite would be the yellow curry and garlic and pepper stir fry! The mixed entree is also really good!
Love their green curry and pad thai! It's pretty cheap too. Very good service and polite staff. I always go here to satisfy my thai food cravings!
Edit...... Came here again with a friend. I had the crispy duck with peanut sauce. It was amazing. The flavours and different sauces were fantastic and the duck was cooked perfectly. The veges were perfect too. The service was great and the hot towels were very nice, hopefully this standard will stay up!
My husband and I came here earlier this year for dinner and really enjoyed the food although the service was incredibly slow. So I thought it would be a good place for my friends and I to come to again. No such luck. Service was incredibly slow! Between ordering our drinks, to receiving them, to ordering our food, to getting our entrees and then waiting for the mains, everything just took forever! And the food was not that great when it arrived. For entree I had chicken satay which was nice but didn't taste thai at all, was just a plain peanut sauce. I had ordered Chicken Mussaman for Main. And then told half an hour after ordering it that they don't have chicken mussaman available only beef? So I changed to chicken Yellow curry, and it sucked, all it tasted like was curry powder, so weird. Well i won't try out here again. As a kid I used to come here all the time with my family to see Sam the owner. It's such a shame that it has gone downhill so much.
Delicious food, fantastic service. One of our go-to places for dinner either take away or dine in. Great for a quiet night or a family get together
We come here regularly and it is my favourite Thai place in Auckland.
Highly recommend their prawn toast and Pad See Ew. Reasonable priced.
To improve: Cleanliness of the restaurant.
Best cashew nut chicken I have had in a long time. Highly recommend this place. The sweetcorn cakes are also a fave. Order was ready in 10 mins.
Great range of basic Thai favourites. Standard setting with nothing out of the ordinary about the interior.
We shared a range of dishes to share between five of us and the food was excellent! The curries were delicious, spiced very nicely and presented very well! Great value for money as food is well priced also. Great option for a regular Thai meal out!
This place is very nice. Reasonable price with nice environment. Most importantly, food is yummy. Waitresses are friendly, they fill the rice and water very fast.
Ordered a Larb gai takeaway .... very nice clean flavour ... lacked a bit of oomph ... easily rectified - next time I'll ask for spicy
Food was quick ... a monday night and almost empty @ 8pm
Don't get confuse with Symonds Street in Auckland City. This restaurant is located in Symonds Street - Royal Oak.
This place have a nice ambience and the service it really good.
The portion is just right and the fish is a must try. Great for sharing and the price is reasonable too.
Definitely recommend this place ☺
A cute little restaurant located near the busy Royal Oak round about. This thai place tastes nothing like any other thai restaurant I've tried before. The food is flavoured very well i couldn't stop eating. The curry was so good I ended up pouring it over my rice because it was so tasty. However, for the price you are paying for, it's relatively expensive as you are given a very little portion. However, if you have a small apetite, definitely give this a try.
Royal Siam is a little Thai place located next to the Royal oak roundabout. The restaurant is well presented and tidy. They had quite a few staff on and the service was reasonably good.
We ordered the spring rolls and the Chiang Mai cashew nut with tofu and a serving of rice. Originally we wanted to get the Corn cakes but they had run out ..which we thought was a bit odd, as wouldn't the mixture be made fresh? We shared these two dishes between the two of us but could have easily had a main each. The dishes were both fresh and tasty - we enjoyed the sauce in the Chiang mai.
Prices are normal for a restaurant but you can definitely find cheaper places nearby but the here food is authentic and ready!
Absolutely love this place. The food is all super super tasty. They are fast to cook it and they are really friendly. This is my go-to place when I need a Thai food pick me up. Tonight I had the chicken larb which had lots of tasty herbs in it and I had the chicken Tom kha soup. Such a tasty dinner. And they deliver! Amazing.
Great authentic Thai food. Soups are generous and full of flavor. Tom Yum my fav. Usually take away but might have a birthday here soon as staff so friendly and dining area looks comfortable.
This is one of the best traditional Thai restaurants I've tried in Auckland.
Came in on a Thursday dinner with my husband as we we're craving for some Thai food. Place looks fancier compares to other Thai restaurants we've been to.
We ordered Prawn Tom Yum (Medium), Chicken Panang Curry (Medium) and Prawn Pad Thai. Everything was delicious. Quality of food is great and we will definitely come back!
Even though it is a little bit on the expensive side for casual thai, this place still had some great dishes. I had the chicken satay, pen ped, lamb massam curry with roti and rice. For entree, the chicken was cooked very well for the satay and had a great peanut sauce. The ped was my favourite dish of the night. A good portion, the sauce was very tasty and had the right amount of spiciness.
The roti was too oily for my liking, and very sweet when compared to other thai roti that I have had. The curry was beautifully fragrant and the lamb just melted in the mouth.
The food was coming out a little slow considering there weren't many people that were in there, (understand that there are many takeaway orders) but the lovely service made up for that.
Lunch for us today @ RS and what an absolute winner. Between the two of us we ordered prawn toast, cashew chicken and prawan Thai fried rice. Great prices, cute little restaurant and the staff are great. We were actually going to go to Nanam and thankfully in this instance, they were closed.
Most meals were delicious and the service was great. The duck spring rolls were excellent. The yellow curry was quite flavourless. A little expensive for the portion sizes but would definitely go again.
Decided to come here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon once we had realised that the Thai Archer across the roundabout was closed. Initially there was no one at the door or counter to seat us, but what was lacked in service at first was definitely made up for in the quality of their food. We ordered duck rolls, pra ram with prawns and pad thai with beef. The duck rolls were accompanied well with a delicious oyster sauce and were cooked to perfection definitely the highlight of the meal. The main dishes of prawns and beef were also just as well done, all at a fairly affordable price due to their lunch time deals. Would definitely return if was looking to eat Thai in Royal Oak again.
We really wanted to try Nanam but we couldn't sneak ourselves in their massive waiting list on a Saturday night. So we went to try Royal Siam which is right next door. We were really not expecting anything from this place, but we were really surprised by how nice the service was. We enjoyed our orders as well (Bangkok Yellow Curry, Cashew Chicken, Pad Thai) and the free flowing rice was a nice surprise as well! If we happen to find ourselves hungry around Royal Oak, we wouldn't mind giving this place another go.
Went there with a group of friends for a casual dinner. Service was excellent. We ordered a mixture of entrees to share and each one of us ordered a main. All the mains are lovely with the crispy duck being a star! Great place for a byo! Would definitely be back!
I love this place we go quite a lot. Nice food with good service, I love duck curry and prawns pad Thai really delicious Thai food recommend duck curry and prawn pad Thai...and chicken satay sauce so yum!
Really Delicious food..I always order take away. I very love pineapple fried rice, pad thai and curry puff. And very friendly waitress will recommend to my friend.
Went for lunch during one of the weekdays.I have done take aways from this restaurant few times in the past. As always service was great. I had one of the dishes from their lunch menu and I really enjoyed. The portion was really satisfying.
Verdict : Not sure if I will be back for more
Really delicious Thai food! You can tell that the quality of the food and service is of a high standard. Lovely curries and omg the entrees are SO good! Recommend the scallops and the chicken satay! Totally yum!
This is our local Thai place and we quite enjoy it
We often order their Cashew nut chicken and the flavours are fantastic. However for me I like more veges in my Thai dishes .. Can never have enough broccoli or carrots in my books
I prefer this Thai to others in the area, staff are really friendly and food is decently priced and by tasty
We enjoy casual nights at Royal Siam. My partner and I have dined here around 5 times - we always go for the panang chicken curry and a stir fry of some kind. The thai beef salad is pretty tasty too! Always friendly wait staff.
Absolutely delicious food! Well seasoned and presentation is great! The tastes you go through are incredible! Not quite baby friendly though, bit of a tight squeeze to fit the baby chair. But excellent food!
Excellent meals. The staff are friendly and polite. The atmosphere and surroundings are fantastic. The service is exceptional. A very clean restaurant. Overall the food and service is excellent. Will definitely go back.
Yummy. I eat Thai food often and this is up there. The drunken noodles and duck curry were amazing. Also staff were friendly so this is highly recommended.
We had an incredibly delicious meal here with great service and would highly recommend this restaurant. Even our 9 year old was impressed by the food and polished off the drunken noodles before we could blink! Will make it a regular.
An excellent meal in relaxing surroundings, served by a delightful waitress. All three of us found the food delicious. My soup starter - for once, genuinely spicy as requested - was exquisite and exemplary. I can't recall having better. The prawns it contained were perfectly cooked too. The main course - chicken in sweet basil - perhaps lacked the pizzaz of the soup, but was nonetheless tasty and hard to fault in any way other than its relative mildness.
Decent price, nice ambience, good service and, most of all, top notch food. I'm already looking forward to going again.
Have been visiting Royal Siam for the last 10 years, Sam (the host) is always lovely, the food is consistantly good. I have never had a bad meal either eaten in or as takeaways and have never heard anyone say a bad word about this place. This has to be the best kept secret in Auckland, ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!
We have never had a bad meal and the service has been great. To those of you who have never met SAM he is the hostess with the most-est---very polite and a pleasure to meet.-------on rainy days he walks you to the car with an umbrella.--have had a variety on food from the menu and like I said no complaints---Ron
The best Thai food ever! I have been to many and nobody does the Pad Prik as perfect as Royal Siam. Their sauces are amazing. Service superb! Sam, Thank you for such a great restaurant. What would we do without you. :) love love love...
Have been to this restaurant on several occasions and have found the food and service excellent, although last time we went their BYO license was not in effect. Would pay to check this at time of booking. Plenty of parking available.
Well what can I say. Well done. The service is just superb, the food is amazing and the deep fried icecream Yummy.
Had dinner here tonight and was pretty good apart from the rice . It was really hard and didn't seem cooked properly .. Other than that the duck curry and beef salad was nice . Small portions but still good. Would come here again
Potions quite small but full of flavour - delicious
And the sticky glutinous rices was so good 👍🏻
After searching, we found our favourite Thai place! The food is outstanding! Exquisite, well-balanced, and flavour-packed dishes. Great ratio of meat to vegetables and decent portion sizes. The hostess has always been very helpful and friendly, although we've only done takeaway orders so far, but it seems like a nice place to dine in. By the way, the medium spice level is perfect for people who love chilli but don't want to keep blowing their nose. Respect from one chef to another, cheers, you did a fantastic job with every dish we've tried so far.
Delicious Thai restaurant, the Tom Yum soup is quite nice! The deep-fried fish is a little bit too dry, but if you like that taste, it would be a good one.
Amazing food. For those how NEED hot go for Thai hot.
We enjoyed their Pad Thai, Red Thai Curry, Garlic and Basil Stir fry, with a side order of Northan Thai sticky Rice.
The food is on point, perfect balance for everything.
The service was kind and attentive.(being under staffed)
We'll be going back.
Good food and atmosphere overall. Beautiful lighting and artwork on the walls. Beautiful crystals in the center. Staff are very beautifully dressed their Thai dresses. Shrimp and Tom Yum soup were terrific. Green Curry with lamb disappointed me a little, as the Curry was more yellow than it was green, lacked flavour, didn't fit in well with the rice and the lamb in the curry could've been more tender. Wait time for dishes on the longer end, but I can tell the effort they put into the quality. Would recommend.
Nice suburban Thai restaurant. Money bags were o.k, my friend commented on how fresh the chicken satay was. Crispy duck, and massaman curry were nice, just the right amount, the sauce for the duck was delicious. Good range of dishes, reasonable prices, attentive service with no rush to be kicked out. A nice touch is the hot hand towels...
Ordered the takeaways delivery via online website was super handy! Portion and price were reasonable, most of all they taste amazing! Love the Duck Roll and Prawn toast! Thank you for the meal and keep up with the great cook! Will surely order another time!
Our fave Thai food comes with fresh grind chilli 😋 spicy crunchy fish😋😉
A nice Thai restaurant that seemed very popular for online deliveries. Again, we understand staff issues are affecting the hospitality industry, but we were surprised out meals took a while to come out given our party of four were the only one's dining in.
The quality of food i found to be average to good compared to my favorite Thai Restaurant, Taragindi Thai back in Brisbane.
I would like to come back again as close friends of ours highly recommended this place, maybe the chef was having an off night as we all do..... till next time.
Mouth watering food they serve, had mixed fried rice and fish and it was really good. Sauce in fish was great and really good service.
Excellent service, although they are short staffed, they did mention there was a 40 minute wait for the food, it was well worth the wait, food was piping hot and delicious, been coming here for years, and always cone back.
Found this gem after reading awesome reviews. Well priced, outstanding food and great service!
We ordered Uber eats and very happy with the food. Thai fried rice is great and green chicken curry is full of flavour. Highly recommend
Lovely staff who really know their menu and are happy to talk sbout it. I have been to many 100's of Thai Restaurants and just for the overall experiance I would put them in my top 10. Yry the prawn toast!!
