The food was really good. I had the chicken tenders wrapped in bacon which came with a salad and chips. Was very tasty and they had lots of gluten free options. For some people the serving size might be a bit small.
3.5 rating. Pretty good prices for your grill favourites, although some might argue that the servings are a little small, it’s just right for me. The lamb cutlets were deliciously juicy, served in a nice thin gravy. The accompanying wedges were quite moorish.
I’m not a fan of lamb, but this had to be the best lamb cutlet I’ve tried! Cut into small pieces that are easy to eat, and the meat is very tender.
A perfect grill meat speaks for itself. Thats the case for this rib. Food at this restaurant are very delicious. Highly recommended!

All I can say is... I'm in love. I tried their chicken satay as an entrée and scotch fillet for the main. The chicken was tender and tasted so fresh. The sauce was not overwhelming, it was just right. I had medium rare for my steak and oh boy it is exactly medium rare. I was surprised how the steak is well seasoned and full of flavours. I usually have to add salt and pepper but this steak tasted perfect. It was so juicy and 😍😍. It was served with salad and chips. The salad tasted good considering I was expecting it to be bland like other salad but no even the salad was good. The chips were surprisingly tasty. All in all everything's full of flavour. I'll definitely come back again. The servers were also nice and friendly :) i absolutely recommend this place. Good job! 🤗
Took a meal with a couple of friends at the BIg Little Grill in Elliot stables, for the restaurant month $25 deal (meat skewers entree, with a choice of 3 mains - beef/lamb/chicken) and was pleasantly surprised.
We all ordered the scotch fillet and sat down. Within 15 mins we were brought our plate of skewers, 3 each (1 beef, 1 lamb, 1 prawn) and every one of them was piping hot, flavourful and succulent (even the prawns - not overcooked). Cooked perfectly.
Before I finished my last skewer, we were all presented our steak mains (stylish rectangle plates, steak at one end, green salad at the other, each artfully dressed with their respective basting sauce or creamy dressing). Cooked to a perfect med-rare, rested properly, so was every bit as succulent as our skewers. Piping hot, wonderfully seasoned, crinkle cut chips and small pottle of tomato sauce came out about 2 mins later - no probs all, not when they're that fresh.
It needs to be said that Elliot Stables is like a very fancy food court, can get quite busy and quite noisy along with that busyness. An architect friend of mine believes it's because of the slate and stone everywhere, which reflects the high frequencies of hustle and bustle in the place i.e. The Stables could really benefit from some sound dampening material, but this is not on the Big Little Grill.
Overall, BLG gets a solid 4 stars. I couldn't call eating in that venue 5 star dining because of the atmosphere, but I'd really love to see what they could do with their own restaurant. If they can keep up their high standards, to them I say: "If you build it, they will come".
This Big Little Grill has Big flavours...simply delicious! Entré starters were a really great start and to have a selection of three is even better. The steak and lamb were cooked to perfection. Staff were very polite and pleasant to deal with.
I got this from the Restaurant Month special menu. For $25 it was 3 entree skewers and lamb shanks w/ wedges and salad as the main. I was very surprised with how nice this turned out! For the price it was well worth it as there was an abundance of food. Would highly recommend swinging by here before the end of this month (August) To take advantage of this special.
Among one of the visit to Elliot Stables, it was the turn for Big Little Grill. I ordered chicken fillet with rice. It was good tasty and value for money. Their service was quick and good. Would definitely try again.
This is my favorite restaurant at Elliott Stables. I absolutely love the chicken burger/sandwich served with fries. The portion is sufficient for a proper meal and the price is reasonable. The chicken is tender, delicious and nicely grilled which gives it a beautiful taste and the fries go well with it. I would certainly recommend trying this out😊
Ordered the bbq chicken with chips plus a Coke Zero for 15 bucks. Cheap and convenient lunch. Chicken breast got good sauce too. Will come back for sure.
Great steak restaurant in the Elliot stables
I ordered the scotch steak and it was really good
The service was also quick even with many customers
I like the juiciness of the steak and the sauce or mix that they used with the steak was really good
The salad was also nice, not bad for 32$ as it can be at par with some more expensive steaks
Definitely coming back!
Just tried their steaks. The service is very good. I like the sauce which they use for steak. I ordered it to be medium well. Tasty.
Service is very good. There were many other restaurants along with it as well in stables but i got attracted to it. Environment is great to chill and have good dinner.
I also take family visitors to Elliot Stables because there are lots to choose from. When I took my parents here I decided to get my steak here. To my surprise they had a special that day that made my steak a little bit cheaper than normal. However when I got my order I knew why. The steak was full of cartilage and it was chewy. Would have definitely wanted to send it back but I didnt want to make a fuss. I tried their lamb skewer salad before and it was great so not everything here is bad. Just had a bad day I guess.
Came here for dinner on a Thursday night. As it is apart of Elliot Stables the ambiance and decor is fantastic, love the vibe of this whole place. We ordered the Sirloin Steak. The service was good, staff were friendly and didn't forget to ask our preference for the steak. Food arrived in about 7 mins. It was a good meal, with a side of salad and chips. We polished off everything. I would definitely eat here again :)
One of the restaurants in Elliot Stables.
The steak wasn't that good as it had a charcoal after taste and it was a bit chewy even though it was cooked nicely. The chicken skewers were alright as well - the sauce wasn't that exciting but when you mix it with the rice everything becomes a sudden excitement. The salad as the sides was surprisingly flavourful with a mix of sweetness and sourness. The serving size for each dish was alright but it didn't quite match their price. $60 for two is ideal.
Taste - 7/10
Quality - 7/10
Size - 6.5/10
Price - 6.5/10
Had the chicken tenderloins which tasted very good but a bit dry, also had the grilled chicken that was really good. Would definitely go again!! 🌟🌟🌟
Dined at Elliot Stables tonight and we ordered our cocktails from Big Little Grill. We loved the cocktails except for the house special which my friend said was quite a mission to get down. Another friend had the chicken satay here which he thoroughly enjoyed. Will try their steak when I'm here next.
Great place to grab a steak - and their lunch sirloin steak priced at $26 is really good value (though I like to pay the extra $2 to get the kumara fries). The cut is really good and the steak is quite tender when cooked medium rare. The kumara chips are just right and the aioli goes really well with them. The lady who works here is super sweet too. Probably one of my favourite places in the CBD for steak!
Pretty decent meals here. You get your salad, meat and rice all in one dish. I like the long plates they use. The food is beautifully presented and has lashings of dressing for the salad and sauces for the rice and meat. Lots of great flavours on one plate.
You have a great choice of meat to choose from. The chicken skewers are tender and juicy. Food is hot and service is quick.
Went out for dinner with my friend..I ordered a sirloin steak .. it was well done according to my recommendation and the quantity was enough for one person.. the side chips were crispy.. will love to go again
Convenient and excellent location
Food looks great
Cons
Pricey
Small portions
Ordered some cocktails and chicken kebabs was th rice. Never had long Island iced tea served in such a small glass that too at that price. The food was fine but very small portion!
■ Great selection
■ Good vibe
■ Busy
■ Pricey
Elliot Stables is one of the most vibrant places for a late night meal with friends! It's heaps of fun when you're with a big group coz you all start venturing in different directions, browsing through different menus and ordering a variety of different things.
Big Little Grill has really delivered on the few times I've been here, especially with their Satay Chicken Skewers during my last time around. The prices here can get pretty steep in some of the eateries, so I would only visit here on the odd occasion. I would loooove to try the South American and Asian Fusion stuff they've got set up. Even though it was real busy on the night we were there, there were no problems at all. Overall, the dynamic here is great - laid back atmosphere, chirpy staff and plenty of options to choose from!
One of my favourite places to buy lunch at Elliot Stables! They have a great lunch special menu and use quality ingredients. The portions are not huge - which is good because they use quality ingredients! My favourite is the prawn skewers (you get 9 prawns) a little sesame dressed salad and a serving of rice! Delicious! You do not feel groggy either afterwards.
Excellent quality of the steak meal and beautiful presentation. I really enjoyed this meal, the steak was tender and tasty served with lovely fries that were not oily and a really nice salad. The cocktails are also quite tasty. A great place to enjoy a nice meal with family or friends.
I have been to big little grill at Eliott stables for lunch, ordered lamb cutlets with salad and wedges , perfectly sized meal for me, loved their signature sauce. I would definitely go back for more.
I am a big fan of Elliot st stables, it's the perfect place to go with a group, there is something for everyone! Big little grill is a great option as not only do they have a great selection on their drinks menu they also do some tasty options on their menu in terms of chicken satay, steaks, salads and seafood.
Walked thru Elliott stables a couple of times during the night and finally get to have a feed here and as i was here for lunch i chose Big Little grills lamb dish which consisted of three items of the lamb, salad and rice, lamb was seasoned with cumin and meal just rite size for one person.
I notice nowadays dishes are just too big to consume in one sitting and end up only eating half, share with another diner, order a half portion (if they agree to), taking rest home or just order the entree dish only.
Not sure what the heritage of the site is, maybe horse stables, other reviewers might like to enlighten on the site history, seating is similar to a food court ordering system where u order/pay first.
Elliot stables is always good for a Friday work lunch! Good value for money for a decent schnitzel! The wait time wasn't long and I enjoyed the relish. Coming for you again.
We turned up on a Sunday and it was one of the few places open in the Stables. They have some decent lunch options, including grilled chicken sandwich and skewers with rice. Very impressed with the flavour and service and they seemed to be doing a roaring trade with plenty of unqualified diners mulling about... Definitely worth a pit stop if you are not a crepe or pizza fan!
Big little grill is inside the Elliott Stables. From the name it's obvious it's a grill place. But I went for squid and salad. I love squid in any form. The portion is descent. With sweet Chilli sauce the squid was more enjoyable. Turn around time was okay. Squid was definitely not the best I have had. It was too bread crumby. Will be back to try some of the mains
Big Little Grill hits the spot! If you're craving a grill-type dish, this place truly delivers. The calamari dish I ordered here was beautiful. I usually order calamari when I'm not very hungry. The dish was only $13.50 and the portion was decent. The calamari itself wasn't too greasy and it was battered lightly yet remained crispy. I loved how the calamari came with two different sauces.
If I'm ever unsure what to get at Elliot Stables, this place is my go-to! The chicken tenderloins are an absolute favourite; even though it looks small on the plate, it's the perfect sized meal for me (leaving just enough room for dessert!). Anything with bacon is pretty much a winner, so teaming it up with chicken and a fresh bed of salad makes it even better. They also do great curly fries which I highly recommend as well.
What can I say? The staff was really friendly, I called in 2 hours before to make a reservation for three people. When we got there we were quickly accommodated to our seats. It wasn't that busy so we had the whole lounge area to ourselves. I've been craving calamari so I ordered the Calamari salad. We also ordered the mix grilled, seafood and satay chicken platter; chicken, satay chicken and lamb skewers on rice, chicken fillet with rice and we also ordered bowls of chips. I was only expecting the chips to be served in only a small bowl but it turned out quite big. The calamari was divine! The prices were such a good deal too! Our meal only costed $209 and that was sufficient to feed $13 hungry people. We even struggled to finish it because we were so full! I would definitely recommend this! ZomatoStudents
In the weekend I came here for lunch with friends. The restaurant is located in a courtyard-like area where seating is in the middle and the stores are around it. The place had nice evening lighting indoors which made it feel quite fancy. Staff were busy and served us appropriately during our time there. Make sure you know the table number you’re sitting at as they will ask you this when you order. I ordered their chargrilled chicken fillet which is called the ‘open chicken sandwich’ on the lunch menu. The meal had a neat presentation and I was impressed by the presentation of the other dishes too. It was flavourful, juicy and delicious. I was surprised by its taste and was enjoyable to eat. The fries also tasted good and If you order this I suggest you eat the fries first as they are best while they’re still hot. Overall a very nice place and atmosphere to eat at.
Absolutely love this place! Big Little Grill is definitely a place to try, with friendly staff, fast service, good food, as well as good portions.
One of our favourites here is the lamb leg fillets which comes with rice, with the option of fries or wedges at extra cost. Here they charcoal grill their meats, so it's really tender. *btw all the meat is halal here*
At ~4 pieces of lamb, this is definitely value for money, where else can you pay a decent price for a good portion of meat that is perfectly cooked as well as well seasoned?
The lamb cutlets as you can imagine is just as tender as the lamb leg fillets. A bit more expensive, however again you get a generous portion of meat, as well as wedges instead of rice being included.
The mix platter is a good option if you're unsure of what to order. I found the prawns a bit disappointing, and the beef overcooked. However, the chicken was delicious and perfectly cooked.
Their salads are also very delicious, persuading me to try one of their salad bowls next time.
Big Little Grill offers delicious meals that are simple, but well executed. And at such a good price, it's definitely worth a try.
My second time at Elliot stables and again impressed. The setting is fantastic and lots of help to find a table. Ordered the sirloin and squid and both were great to eat and also incredible value. Would definitely recommend for a casual adult eat out experience.
Came for lunch and had the chicken tenderloins in bacon. The portion size was disappointing, to me it felt a bit over priced even though it was delicious and well presented, service was average, not much service at all actually!
Had my lamb cutlet, friend had her lamb fillet and other friend had her skewers on rice. It was delicious. Pricey but understandable for that venue and type of ambiance. I felt like back in 2nd home London all over again. Very European feel. Not much of service but it came out at an appropriate time. The food was cooked perfectly - my lamb cutlet was AAAHHHmazing. I would go back there again but for dinner for the romantic feel.
Place was nice but I feel that the food is overpriced. Was $66 for 2 smallish mains and 2 drinks. I think that the taste is ok. It's not the best steak or chicken I've had. Steak was medium rare which was nice but it was quite small and chicken was alright just a little bit chewy in places. I love the atmosphere at Elliot stables, really reminds me of something out of Europe. The workers there were nice but intimidating. We'll be back to Elliot stables but maybe to try something else.
I always love the atmosphere at Elliot's! This time I tried The Big Little Grill and it was rather lovely! Staff at the till are friendly, helpful and the chefs work hygienically.
I ordered the Calamari & Salad with an extra side of wedges. The calamari was covered in so much batter I could barely get a taste of calamari! They could've given me beef and I probably wouldn't have known! I wasn't expecting a deeply fried calamari so I was a little disappointed. However the dressing on the salad really made the rocket taste nice! Usually I don't like rocket as it's quite bitter but the dressing really saved it!
Have heard great things about this place and tried its most known dish, chicken tenders in bacon. Absolutely loved it! The freshness of the salads, the tenderness of the chicken and the slightly salted bacon combined with yummy curly fries made it a highlight of my night!
This was my second time visiting and I ordered the same dish as last time which was Chicken tenderloins. It didn't disappoint me as it still tasted delicious when I first have it. However, my partner who ordered the scallop skewer with rice tasted average and it didn't worth the price at all. I would definitely recommends any meat dishes available on the menu. However, I was surprised that they charged $3 for a jar of water.
We bring most of our Wellingtonian work colleagues here and it never failed to impress them. The food and service is great and never too long to wait.
Really good, had a chicken dish that came
With a little salad and a side of chips, basic but was delicious. My partner got the ribs which he was equally impressed with.
Delicious food, good portions and fast service. I had the chicken fillets which were perfectly cooked and the chips were divine. I even ate the salad.
Had dinner with mum and I just love the food. Well presented and worth the money.
I highly recommend this place to anyone.
My friend and I went here for lunch the other day and were pleasantly surprised. We went quite early so there wasn't a lot of people. My friend got the lamb and I got the chicken fillets. It took a little while to come out and when it did, the presentation was lovely. The chicken was slightly on the pink side which made me a bit worried but the salad was absolutely lovely.
So fast and a good selection of specials to choose from.
The sauce on the open chicken sandwich was a bit funky but that's not to say it was bad, because it was most definitely very good.
I was the last person to order from my table, but the only person to order from Big Little Grill, and I was stoked when my order arrived first.
Awesome tasting sirloin steak, cooked to my liking and the salad was probably the best lettuce salad I've had. The service was good and the price was reasonable.
A Seriously good steak !”
We visited this place a week back. it's true! the steak was Amazing !! Seriously. The done-ness is correct, the sauce made everything perfect. I usually don't eat steak with the sauce, but here, i amazingly enjoyed everything that came to my table.
Big little grill has some really neat dishes on their menu. When I went they had a special which was chicken tenders wrapped in bacon if my memory serves me correctly. It was super yum however, the portions weren't that filling, but I wasn't bothered.
I've only had this place once before. Not because the food isn't good, its just that there are other places within Elliott stables that I prefer. I will definitely be going back again in the future and would recommend you guys try it out too. Woof.
A-mazing steak! I've had steaks that cost twice as much and did not taste as good/weren't cooked to perfection. I mean so good you don't need any extra sauces or gravys... and the chips just got in the way.
Plus, if you're friends or family don't like steak Big Little Gill perfectly situated in Elliott Stables so they can go get anything else from seafood to Thai and join you at the table as you enjoy a sensational steak.
We had lunch here today. The store opens earlier than others in the food court. The lunch meals are very tasty, and affordable with a good portion. Highly recommend everyone to
have lunch if you look for affordable and healthy lunch.
Ordered lamb cutlet. Very delicious. Elliot Stable is a very nice environment. I wish it had a better ventilation.
Basically like a mini food court. A number of tables in a completely covered area surrounded by numerous little restaurants all sharing the seating area. The food choices were great, and this particular restaurant was very good even accommodating us even though they were close to closing for the lunch period. It was no issue for them. Good good, great service and cosy atmosphere. 10/10, would go again.
I wandered in with a friend on a Friday night, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. The restaurant was filling up quickly but we managed to snag a table.
Great food very good portion size. This place is perfect for groups or a casual date night.
Been there once, the Chicken fillet was very good, but the sirloin steak had too much barbecue sauce which take away the favor of the beef. But for those who love bbq sauce, it is good as well.
A nice, warm and fun environment to have dinner with family and friends. It feels like you're in a small town diner surrounded by some of the best food selections from around the world. Highly recommend if you are ever in the city and can't decide what you want for dinner or lunch.
Not bad. Tucked in the conner but very good value for money. Again for sure.
Chicken tender loin is really nice.wrap with bacon amazing.healthy salad bottom.
I went to lunch time.all meat the price are reasonable . The staff are very friendly and kindness.I like it!!!
I loved the Chicken Sándwich! Big portion and very tasty. I also liked the kumara chips with the wazabi mayo.
Great food, warm environment, friendly stuff and good vibes! Definitely coming back! A+++
