Always go here for Italian when at Mission Bay. Very friendly staff and great service! Love the food here and has a fair amount of vegetarian options. Owner is very nice and polite. Would recommend. The wait isn’t too long but sometimes can be, but still good.
Bruschetta some of the best we have in Auckland. Lamb shank and cannelloni both delicious. BYO an advnatage for us. Friendly efficient service with a smile. Able to watch the passing parade as we sat on the balcony. Mission Bay was humming on this warm evening. Would return again soon if we could get a "no hassle" park.

Great food and ambiance. The staff was very lovely and friendly. The food was tasty and generous. We had the Fish of the day, Pork Belly, Fish and Fries, Chicken and Fries, Bambino and Hazelnut gelato and they were all delicious. Excellent dining experience for us.
We went here on a weekend. This place is cozy for a rainy day and food is worth the money. Fireplace, candles, friendly staff. Bruschetta here is amazingly delicious.

We came here last Sunday August 19th hadn't been to Andreas for a while just due to weather and work and a long drive from our place , but have been coming most weekends for about 4 years, I had my usual Meat Lovers Pizza ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING as usual, my wife had the tarakihi burger OUTSTANDING as usual, great price great service Free BYO on Saturday but usual charge is $6 , there will always be people that complain and find fault but there those kind of people , see u Next Sunday for Fathers Day
Used for a takeaway pizza regularly and sometimes dine in, Andrea Restaurant is cozy, friendly, genuine tasty food and select wines plus a special Italian beer in the keg adds another touch of difference. Go there !
Came here on a Monday, so all their pasta were on special @$17 each. We tried their seafood spaghetti and lasagna with fish and chips on the side.
We definitely got our money's worth from what we had! Lasagna was generously cheesy but not to a point of being salty. Spaghetti had adequate seafood in it. Hoki fish had a crispy breading, although they may improve on it by adding more fish instead of thick breading.
Have been looking for a good Italian Restaurant around Mission Bay area for awhile now and finally found this one. We ordered takeaway with garlic pizza bread, carbonara and the tiramisu and it was all cooked perfectly within 15 minutes on a Saturday night. The pasta was my favourite having tried so many around the area and always ended up with what taste like a can sauce this one was definitely different it tasted like a proper Italian pasta. The restaurant itself was clean and such a nice appmosphere we will definitely plan to dine in next time. Also wanted to make a quick mention for the guy that took my phone order and served me when I arrived he was absolutely lovely and so friendly. Will be back 🙂

We had the Smoked Chicken Fettucine, Spaghetti Seafood, and Chicken Liver between two.
Smoked chicken fettuccine was rich and creamy; generous smothering of their sauce. Would have been perfect with a few more chicken pieces though. Pasta was cooked perfectly too! Adding salt and pepper would entice the flavours.
Chicken liver was unexpectedly good! It’s got some kind of punchy herb that jumps out at your palette, liver was also cooked well and wasn’t dry.
Friendly and very energetic staff as well; interesting to note was that at the time all the staff were males! Would definitely recommend this authentic Italian restaurant if you’re in the area craving for pasta!
Bill came to $45.50 which was very reasonable and we were both very full!

So much choice here. Absolutely delicious pasta. The pasta is silky and soft and fresh. The prawns were cooked perfectly and flavoured well. Overall great little Italian place with very reasonable prices.
This place is my favourite restaurant in Auckland and I would go every week if I could.

This place is so authenticity Italian the decor, the flavours and the staff make you feel like your in Italy (which is a nice feeling when you never get a holiday )
The Gallic Pizza bread melts in your mouth and nobody does Pizza quite like Andrea. I recommend the margarita pizza, lasagna and the spaghetti- plain classic options that they absolutely nail.
I wish I could have this for dinner / lunch every week but, as a female I have to be carb conscious:(

I've been here last night in a dinner with the Italian community, I must say I was slightly worried due to some reviews but I had a nice surprise waiting for me.
It might be useful to know that I'm originally from Argentina and our food has heavy Italian and Spanish influence, so I'm used to the style and taste and I had some expectations when I walked in.

We got served some chips/fries initially with mayo and tomato sauce, could've done without them but that depends on each person I guess.

The ambience is vibrant, service is super friendly without bothering the guests.
We had the whole place for us, the place was full and menu was predefined, so the kitchen was super busy, while waiting we got served some fries alongside with mayo and tomato sauce, personally, I didn't like the tomato sauce as it was too sweet for my taste and fries could've used a bit of salt, but it entertained us the wait.
About 15 minutes later we got served some good pizza slices, followed by fried crumbled mashed potatoes with bacon bombs
This staff are very friendly, and the food is very tasty. I love that they have crayons and paper for us to draw on. What a creative idea. The actual restaurant is clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend.
Interesting aesthetics which definitely made the place rather unique, it also had a warm and cosy ambience.
Food was toothsome; we ordered the Andrea's Pizza and the Chicken and Bacon Tortellini.
The pizza was interesting as it had avocado and it also included whole pitted olives which made eating it rather difficult. However, it still tasted really nice.
Service was nice however we did notice the difference between waiters as the table next to us received better service.
Rack of lamb is fabulous and so tasty. Meat lover pizza is the best i tasted in a long time. Friendly service and stunning atmosfere. If i could, i would go there every weekend.
Came here for dinner on a Friday night for a date. There was seats available and was seated right away. Staff is very friendly and it has a traditional/basic Italian menu. We order garlic pizza bread and fries as entree. And I had tortellini chicken and friend had rack of lamb I think which is very popular and delicious. I loved my pasta too as it's so fresh and the sauce was spot on I will definitely recommend this. Only thing is, the speed was real slow. The entree came on at a right time but we waited 1 hour and 20 mins or so for our mains to come (from the time we ordered till we got the food). The waiter was friendly and apologized. Maybe don't come if ur in a hurry or have any plans. Overall it was great :D would've been perfect if food came out on time!! Total mean cost $80 approx for 2 people. We were soooooo full!!
Love the cheap pasta mondays but they raised the price for that. Normally its only $9.
Recommend: Really recommend their egg plant entree. quite a small portion if you're sharing.

Pizza on mission bay and andreas is the name that comes to my mind. Had the amazing BBQ chicken pizza. The place was packed on sunday but still service was quick and food was delicious. The staff was friendly. Had excellent time with my friends. Will soon visit again.
Love this place it definitely has a great feeling and is very romantic and the staff and super friendly I got the salmon risotto and it was amazing we sat and talked for a while after our meal and wasn't made to feel like we should leave and talk elsewhere
My girlfriends took me here for part of my hen's do and I loved it. Andrea taught us how to make pasta, pizza and even TIRAMISU for dessert. He was very entertaining, friendly and all of us girls had a great time.
The sauces for the pastas tasted great, the gnocchi however was slightly overdone, otherwise everything else was really yum.
My go to Italian restaurant, wonderful food with daily specials on. Outside area out looking onto a perfect view of the beach. Always greeted and treated with good customer service and even one time the head chef came out and served our dishes and had a chat with me.
Awesome place. Great food. Great view. Great service (many happy smiles :D). The place has a very authentically Italian feel: just the right amount of sophistication and smooth Italian accents. We had chicken fettuccine and a burger. The $15 lunch deal for pizza or pasta is great value too.
Pretty good. Nothing fancy about the place nor spectacular about the food. Had the $15 special for the pizza and pasta so can't complain about the price. It was good value although I wouldn't rave about it.

Andrea has very affordable today's specials, and besides that, food impressionably tasty.
Had some pasta with mussels, scallops, squid and prawns that was amazing, although it could be milder in pepper.
The only drawback was the service. The waiter himself decided we should split the bill in equal parts, no matter what each of we had had.
I really didnt mind doing that, but it should be. a customer's decision.

Easily spotted on the main strip of Mission bay my friend and I decided this would be an ideal place for dinner on Saturday night. The location on its own gives big points, and if you're lucky enough to sit outside like we were it makes the whole experience so much better.
We ordered two pastas to share - the tortellini and smoked chicken fettuccine and some garlic bread to start. The garlic bread didn't take long to come out and tasted amazing. I usually try to not I'll up on bread to save space for dinner but neither of us could help it! The pastas came out not long after and they were both ok. The fettuccine was tasty but the sauce was pretty rich, and the the sauce for the tortellini was delicious however the chicken mince inside the pasta was quite dry. Overall though we were both satisfied by the meal. The staff were friendly and accommodating - clearing our table when needed and keeping our water topped up.
Worth checking out if you're in the area and in the mood for some Italian cuisine!
Right on the main strip of Mission bay, this place is hard to miss. Although it's small, this place has a nice ambiance to it. We dined in for lunch today and enjoyed the food, views and service. The man that served is was very good, he was welcoming and carefree. The restaurants decor has a nice subtle Italian theme to it.
We ordered the vegetarian pizza ($15). This was the perfect size to share for lunch. The pizza was tasty and had a good amount of toppings. They have some good daily specials so wouldn't mind dining here again to try what else they have to offer.
Located in central mission bay, easy to find it. simple Italian restaurant without too much decoration. simple food but good taste. Hawaiian pizza is my favorite.
This place is the cutest in mission bay! The restaurant is small but holds a lot of ambience to it. The staff are mostly Italian which is an added bonus. I find the food to be very traditional in the sense of Italian cuisine. All the meals are fairly priced at around $16-$37 and the wine list is pretty extensive. Every meal I've tried there is delicious and is always a good portion size - not too big or too small. Added bonus, you can draw on the tables! Fun for kids and those young at heart like myself.
Went there with a voucher last night and enjoyed the dining experience. The waiters were very attentive and noticed that we didn't touch the salad that came with the starter (don't normally eat salad when dinning out). He asked us whether we would like to swap the salad in the main with mashed potato and broccoli instead. We were very pleased with the option ( I changed my mind after 1 minute and asked him if I could change the mashed potato to some fries. He said yes). The food was good (dessert was a bit too sweet for my liking), generous portions at a good price. Will definitely go back there again.

We came here for the cooking class and subsequently for a regular sit down meal. The cooking class was great fun, and I would thoroughly recommend it to groups of friends or as a team function. The food was good when we subsequently visited, albeit as expected for any number of Italian restaurants in Auckland. Service was great.
Thinking of Italian in Mission Bay? this has to be the best on the strip. Really authentic food and atmosphere, nice cosy restaurant, get in quick for a table at peak times. There was a class going on while i was there, i would like to try it one day, everyone there did seem like they were having fun. Anyway about the food; we got the eggplant and grilled tomato entre, average to say the least. Mains were great though, calamari gnocchi and vegetarian spaghetti, the aromas from the two were backed by the taste and made me forget about the entre. You must try the ice cream though, even if you don't like coffee you will like this i am sure of it, one of the best i have ever had, vanilla with a hint of coffee and a slight caramel swirl that did not over power at all. Try this over the Tiramisu. If i am in mission bay next time; will definitely be revisiting
I booked a cooking class for a group of my friends for my 40th birthday here and it was great fun. We had a large table in the corner of the restaurant and the Chief taught us how to make out 3 course meal. It was a lot of fun and very tasty we had a fun evening together ?
One of the best Italian places on Auckland especially Mission Bay, way better than Mamma Mia down the road. Good food and great owner, came to us and talked for a good time.
The service deserves a 5/5, the staff are truly passionate about their jobs and genuinely appreciate your business. We fell in love with the waiter who always greets us with a smile and we sit for a candle lit italian dinner. The food always arrives quickly, we've never waited more than 10 minutes for a main. The pasta is enjoyable, however not the most authentic which is my reason for rating it slightly lower. We continue to visit because Andrea is always a pleasant experience.
Updated review - 4: I have since been to Andrea two more times since my last review. On my latest visit I had ordered the salmon and avocado salad. The salad was absolutely delicious, very healthy and most of all; the portion was very generous! The service was very good. If this place fancied up it's décor a little bit I would give this place an even higher rating as the food and service are excellent. Previous review - 3.5: I really enjoyed having lunch at Andrea on Saturday. The salads we ordered were very fresh and healthy and generous. The prawns in mine were cooked to perfection. We sat outside and it was a pleasant atmosphere. I noticed the decor inside was a bit run-down and could do with a makeover. The service was very good. The man who served us was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back to Andrea as it is such great value for money and has such a relaxed atmosphere.
I love this restaurant. its really relaxed and VERY Italian! The vibe is great and the fresh food is amazing. I always love going here. One of my fave places to eat. If you like authentic italian pizza, pasta, desserts and anything in general go here. Dont expect fine dining, but you will be taken on a food journey to Italy ????

This is the second time I have been to Andrea. Customer service is very important to me and Andrea ticks that box well. Andrea himself had a chat to us and our waiter was really friendly and attentive.
The food is delicious! So so good. I have to admit I do get the same thing when I come here, the tortellini, because I LOVE it (beautifully creamy and lots of chicken inside the parcels) but I did try my partner's lasagne and it was really nice too. We had the bruschetta for the entree and that was great, perhaps needing more basil (whole leaves rather than small cut up pieces maybe) but really, no complaints here at all.
Overall, great place. I understand now why they have customers who continue returning for years.

So surprised this place has low reviews. I been coming here for few years with my partner who introduced me to this place. For me it's hands down best Italian restaurant I have been to so far in Auckland. My partner always orders the lasagna (I RECOMMEND ALL SHOULD TRY IT) it just melts in your mouth full of delicious flavor just to die for! Never I had lasagna that good before compared to other places. And as for me I always get the Spaghetti alla pescatora because I love seafood and the sauce is tasty. And always we order a salad on the side and whatever dressing it is ITS GREAT ! I would love to know the recipe for it. Sometimes in the afternoon we go for lunch and order their burgers (chicken) for around $15, it's worth it!

Friendly service .If you know your "genuine Italian food" so well go back to pizza hut ,but if you want properly cooked Italian food at a cheap price I'd recommend it . If you don't think it's freshly made try one of the classes and make your own,I saw about a dozen young girls having a ball at about an 8th birthday party . And no I don't work there . Loved the marlin entree and the crayfish pasta...
