Had to get something German, rather than something I could get at any other cafe. It was pretty good although I guess I expected something more spectacular. It was kind of late so there wasn’t many baked goods anymore but I imagine those are what really makes the place so next time I’ll definitely get some pretzels to takeaway.
We have been here twice now. Hubby is german so he loves to get a taste of home every now n then!
The cheese pretzels are super delicious!! I could just eat these all day long! As for the chocolate filled croissants OMG I'm in love with these!! Hubby knows I have a major sweet spot and always orders me one of these (probably his way of getting some peace n quiet in the car because I'm too busy jamming it into my mouth instead of yapping away lol) But it is super yummy! Gotta try one for sure if you visit this place!
Ordered 2 coffees here as well which were good.
Customer service is good also.
No doubt we will be returning again.
The food doesnt only look good, it taste delicious too. My two egg and mushroom is a 10. Just how i like it!
I really enjoy my lunch and the ambience doent make us feel rushed even when its busy.
I even bought sunflower seed bread for home after my meal.
Maximum group of 4 people due to the table size.
I travel to germany yearly and its nice to have a germany bakery in auckland.
Been here only once, still need to try more dish to give more comment.
Had cheese pretzel which was delish, if only they can be heated with oven (came here a bit late and all oven already off).
Good service and price.
Excellent bread (all of them, rye, sourdoughs - the 'crusty' is to die for...!), superb croissants, friendly service, so happy to welcome to Three Lamps, Ponsonby.
My friend who lives in Germany for at least 15 years made me a plum slice, since that I can't never forget how wonderful taste it is! Luckily, I found this German bakery in Auckland! Their apple slice it just divine! Came here so many time, and this is the must have for me😋👍
Have only been in a couple of times so far so still trying to work out what they offer and what is good. Was recommended the soup of the day last time and this was very nicely received! The cabinet food selection could be beefed up a bit (more German style pastries please!!), and the general vibe needs a little zhooshing up to give it more millennial appeal... otherwise this is a pleasant new addition to Three Lamps!
A beautiful little place on the corner of ponsonby Road and college hill. Went there with some friends and ordered a spread, all for under $30! It's great value considering the quality you get. Great food, definitely going back again for the breads.
All in all was an above average cafe. Had a bacon and egg roll, the roll is nicely baked but was a little dry and the egg was over cooked. An option to put butter on the bread would score some bonus points. There was great service and he plain pretzel was good. Would definitely recommend this café to any German bread lovers.
Super lecker 😊 tried the cherry cake, the Bratwurst in bread roll and a coffee. Happy with all but the Bratwurst in bread roll was the star of the morning 🌟 we'll be back!
