Was told about this place and now its my go to morning coffee and breakfast.
Great service, great food, excellent coffee.
Cant wait to have time to have lunch here to.
Love the vibe, the people, the food, the coffee and of course the heartbeat. You guys are a blessing to those around.
Thank you for an amazing week of food. Will be supporting you in the future at any opportunity we have and telling everyone we know about you.
Keep up the fantastic work you do.
Great breakfast and the charity is so worthwhile too! To help out please make sure that you pay it forward by adding an extra $4 to your meal...then it pays for someone else's meal/hot drink or whatever...I urge everyone to give Merge a try and help out this great charitable idea AND enjoy great food too
I remember coming here a few years back and it was only $3 for their meals!! Loved this place & the food was on point & straight from the HEART! Met a lot of great people eating here, big hearts, great cause, good to see yall still going strong!
I love the diversity of the place... Reminds me of shortland st...... Gr8 work my co'eez
Quality food and welcoming staff. I met some lovely people and found the environment very comfortable. The free wifi and charging points are also very helpful. Shall certainly pop in for lunch when I'm next in Auckland =]
Had a great coffee and scone today, good service, lovely atmosphere. Thank you
it's such a nice place with great staff and awesome food. I would always come back when I am in Auckland, thanks a lot :)

Ki ora Koutou mihi mai ra e manakitanga he tangata o ihoa, matua tama wairua tapu e anahera pono te hei mauri ora. i like to personally acknowledge lifewise for the contribution they made for our dear friend, and rangatira rangi carroll for a beautiful service thursday last week i was very touched by the manakitanga and wairua of the service. rangi was a inspirational leader not just for the people but a man of god. as a totara tree falls another one raises. i believe that rangi knew that someone would step in his place i guess he was seeing a young man like me to lead. nga wairua, nga aroha e rangatira rangi moe moe ra te hei mauri ora
Just had lunch with a bunch of members from Toi Ora and had the best fish pie with crunchy broccoli. The chef really knows how to make the meals interesting with a subtle touch of herbs and spices.Cheers Merge Cafe, see you for Thursdays roast!
value for food is excellent here and the meals are served with genuine courtesy and friendliness, unlike the growing epidemic of bourgeois, sour-faced "hospitality" workers fronting most Auckland cafes. Go here any chance you can get for great meals and to support the homeless.
Merge on K Road is not your typical designer-hipster café, but out of all our eat outs, this has been the most memorable. Starting as a soup kitchen, not-for-profit trust Lifewise decided to provide something more than a bandaid solution for the homeless in Auckland. With meals starting at $4 (their breakfasts at $1), those who are struggling with expenses can get a (very) substantial hot meal, unlimited tea/coffee and friendly staff who are more than willing to offer a good chat or helping hand. We found a sunny courtyard with herb gardens and vibrant murals, stands with pamphlets on emergency accommodation and medical assistance, and up the stairs are Lifewise staff that can help people find ways to permanent housing, providing advocacy and advice.
We were served generous servings of roast chicken and beef stroganoff (on rice or spaghetti), along with basket of sourdough slices to wipe up all the sauce. You’ll find people on all walks of life here — people resting with a book from the communal library, students talking life in the courtyard… even suits who work around the area and looking for something a little off-beat and neighbourly. Everyone was welcomed to join them in their vision to 'build a connected, inclusive community'. For those of us that can easily spend 25 bucks on a typical café meal, why not pay it forward at Merge and to help those who need it most?

Great people doing fantastic things for our community members in need of help.
The food it satisfying straight up meals that are so cheap you can afford to buy a new friend one for them.
Support this great team.
Had a great lunch at Merge café today. Food was hot, tasty, cheap and just what we needed on a cold winters day. Recommend this place to all
I've enjoyed a couple of lunches at the Merge Cafe, and have always gone for the hot lunch option, despite a tempting-looking range of cabinet food as well.
Their hot options change day-to-day. My last visit was on "roast day" - tender and yummy! The main standout is their low prices - you'd imagine that might lead to fairly stodgy food, but it's really not. Great variety of meat and veg on the plate, very filling and satisfying.
Would definitely be my regular weekday lunch go-to if I worked closer to K Rd.
Funky indoor area with a range of seating options, and a nice courtyard for sunny days out the back.
Wheelchair accessible and the most inclusive, accessible to all people, disabled and non-disabled I have ever experienced.
Food was cheap plentiful and vegetarian friendly.
People who can afford to pay it forward are welcome to do so, providing free meals and coffee for those who cannot afford it.
The diversity of people, business professionals, un-homed and everyone in between all enjoying the company, noise food and energy of Merge will have me going back every chance I get. 💖
A high level tasty food at a very affordable value of $4.00. Today’s meal is spaghetti meatballs. I just want to dive in to my meal and enjoy the quality of their food. If you want great affordable deal come here to Lifewise Merge Cafe. You I’ll not regret your visit and your meal at all. I recommend it for you for sure.
Great place to come especially for the homeless - my son lives meeting all the people who worked here and some of the homeless people 😎
This beautiful space and cafe has been there for my son and I when we have been struggling whilst I dealt with life threatening health issues. I will forever be grateful for the staff and cafe for being there for us. God bless this place. The food is wholesome and delicious xx
Such a great way to support the cities vulnerable. $6.00 for a roast meal. PAy it forward $12.00. Someone in need gets a free Roast Meal as well..
Always good to see Manu and the team, your greeted with a smile thatnk you to all those involved with Lifewise Merge Café.
Couldn’t thank the Staff and lifeWise merge enough they have been there for my son and i through thick and thin when times were tough. Not mention delicious food. Highly recommend
For a non profit organisation, their menu is worthy of any customer...rich or poor. Most of the staff are volunteers with better customer service than those who are paid at other upmarket establishments. Kudos to everyone involved including the suppliers.
The lunch was very tasty and for the decent price of $4. The staff is really friendly but the best thing of this cafe is the purpose of helping homeless people. Yesterday one homeless person took the order from me - he was really helpful and did his job really well! Oh, and I paid with a card (in the description it's said cash only which is not true). I really appreciate the place and would definitely come back!
Working in CBD my favorite place to grab a meal. Affordable prices and Staff are very friendly especially Manu who fills my whole dish everytime and the chef makes amazing dishes I always look forward to their menu well in Advance now available online. I had no problems with going inside considering their purpose and homeless colony glad I am helping at same time and making a difference even if it is a little bit when buying their food :-)
