Nice place to have a coffee to start a day, with a best view to auckland harbour.. they also serve various of brunch options but i only go with hot mocha this time which is very yummy.. -Denny Setiawan
Delicious coffee in a slim cafe on the waters edge. For coffee lovers- this is really the only cafe you can go to in Wynyard Quarter. No other cafes in the area compare to Rushworth. Despite always being flooded with customers the staff are always warm and friendly.
Relatively small cafe so food choices are limited. Daughter ordered the ham and brie croissant which her toddler declared 'MINE" when it was placed on the table, and he proceeded to demolish a good half of it ! Daughter enjoyed the other half. The scrambled egg was light and fluffy and toddler got stuck into that too. Not a lot of sweet stuff on display but the coffee is very good. Outdoor seating which is lovely on a sunny day. Will return without the toddler next time.
After eating possibly the most delicious apple and cinnamon muffin I've ever had i thought i should share this news of where to get one with everyone else. Heated with butter, this ticked all my muffin boxes. The right amount of apple and without tasting like a muffin dough(most muffins usually come out quite doughy), it exceeded all my expectations. delicious!
Enjoying a delicious Allpress latte, thanks to Auckland Transport - Cycling & Walking team, Food cabinet looks yummy. Can't belive how fast they ate pumping out the coffees here - super fast service & they remmber where u are & deliver to you, exceptional service & great tasting coffee. They have a clean loo too hidden in the corner. ASB staff love this place. Plenty of comfy seating in a wearhouse style inside & out with views over the harbour - great spot.
Great breakfast menu and cool atmosphere here! The staff are lovely and the prices are great considering its location and quality 😊 I'm sure I'll be back to try more of their menu
Rushworth is a small but very popular cafe down at Wynyard Qtr. They have a hardworking team & are open from 6.30am which is great for that first coffee of the day.
They offer a range of cabinet items - many of which are freshly baked & delivered daily including scones, cakes & slices. They also offer sandwiches & salads etc... Only having a small space, they do well to cook what they do which is mostly toasted scones & paninis, but also cooking bacon & eggs.
Seating is available inside in booths & a couch, as well as outside chairs & tables with a pretty fantastic view! Always newspapers available.
I visit the cafe semi-regularly & even after a recent 2 month break, they remembered my coffee order which is the sign of a good barista I believe. Coffee is consistently good - no need for sugar, never burnt or bitter.
Today I had bacon, eggs & avocado with my coffee. Their scrambled eggs have to be some of the best I've ever tried - soft & fluffy, not dry but also not undercooked which can be a fine balance. Bacon was nice & crispy. Bread was fresh & warm which was a nice touch.
Overall a great place for coffee & food, good service & a fantastic location.
Amazing food and coffees.
Such nice place to be relax and enjoy your coffee while you have a water view in front of you.love it.
Definitely go back again
Had brunch here today fantastic. Great setting great staff great service fairly priced. Value for money. Do the best bacon and egg roll with brown sauce. Try this place.
I really enjoy their coffee, and it's consistently great. They don't always have salads advertised, but have been able to make a Caesar every time I've asked. It would be great to see cabinet salads of different varieties.
I love Rushworth's.
The coffee is good and when I need a decent breakfast I always pop in!
Simple and well priced : )
Great coffee and service, we went on opening day and it was packed! Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Both of our coffees were fantastic, tasted lovely and the Melting Moments are definitely melt-in-the-mouth! A bit of a splurge at $4 each but they are rather good... Overall, excellent! I look forward to going there again.
Love this place , the staff make such an effort to remember your coffee order , only came in a few days and they started asking for my regular each morning. Super friendly and amazing service. Food is good, coffee delicious and views of the beautiful waterfront 😍😍
Best coffee in the area. And great staff. Plus lovely location
Nice food, good coffee and heat service. Plus a nice place to stop. Very friendly and efficient service.
Absolutely love it here. Nice food, friendly staff and pet friendly. Always come here when we visit Auckland CBD.
This place is nice, right on the water front but manages to maintain the community cafe vibe. Good coffee and the food looks tasty.
Great views, nice staff. Have to order at the till which meant we had to get out of the way every time a meal or coffee went out, but that’s the only negative thing. Great toastie with generous amounts of cheese. Fresh avo on the smashed avo on toast not the terrible packet stuff. Salmon bagel was perfectly toasted and not skimpy with the cream cheese. Good coffee too!
I moved to Auckland from a small town a few years ago and quickly found a home at Rushworth. I worked here for just over a year (a few years ago now) and here are some things that have stuck with me:
James is the owner. He would welcome me every morning with genuine interest in how life was going. He would work alongside us when it was busy and was never too important to take out the trash. James has a huge heart and it was emphasised in many situations. A young family came into the shop one day and were clearly tired, their young child was upset that there were no sausage rolls on the menu, James quietly passed me $10 from the till and asked me to run across the road and get one for the young boy and take it to their table. That is the kind of person he is.
It is tough to describe Salama with words. I was in awe of her work ethic from the day that I met her. She was always the first there and last to leave. Salama is sunshine in human form and has an unmatched vibrancy regardless of how tired she must be. She also had a genuine interest in how I was doing. Salama was full of positive feedback and was always so uplifting. She had a constant curiosity about how to make things better. She remembered each of our birthdays and would bring a gift. It was such a pleasure to work alongside her.
I think what stood out to me the most, is that I left abruptly and somewhat unexpectedly due to my own personal circumstances. A few months later my Mum passed away, without any contact, Rushworth graciously contributed to the givealittle page for her funeral experiences and I received messages from both James and Salama checking in with me.
So, yeah, maybe other places in Auckland offer better food or better coffee, but I can guarantee to you that you will not find better, more genuine people with bigger hearts. That is what makes Rushworth so special and the experience unparalleled.
Had breakfast and brunch here over the weekend!, fantastic food and service, excellent choise and super service! Glad we found this place because we WILL be back!
Food and coffee was delicious and quick to arrive
Only place around open on a Wednesday morning, it was very busy but their service was very fast. Coffee was great, smashed avo on toast was amazing.
Great spot next to the water. Friendly staff and prompt service make this a cafe for repeat visits. Would recommend.
Good for ice creams...staff friendly, parking limited...best get there by train as it's at the Viaduct. Bit pricey
Coffee....SPOT ON!
I popped in from AU with a recomendation from my cousin in the UK, thanks Andy!! ...and thank you Selama for the liquid gold.
Regular local clientel says is all.
Great service and yummy food
Lovely, quick, friendly, great location. Bacon salad was a great idea!
Living up to their promise and reputation, on a busy day. Impeccable service and excellent lattes. Much appreciated. Will be back!
