📍 Spilt Milk
☕ Cappuccino + Flat White + Long Black
🍴 Blueberry Cream Cheese Muffin + Almond Croissant
-----------------------------
Tucked away beside the antiquated Countdown of Pt Chev, is a bright little cafe with interior that is simple yet chic. One of our favourite West Auckland cafes that we almost didn't want to share. If you're up for fresh Vietnamese brunch and coffee, come spill your milk over their perfectly brewed Velo coffee.
P.S Great range of cabinet sweets and fresh bites too!
Simple, nice little place. You wouldn't know it's there unless you happened to be walking past. Staff are very friendly, nice little chilled out place to spend a couple of hours.
This place a huge Vietnamese influence. It’s modern and great place to catch up with friends. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the avocado smash with bacon which was delicious! The beetroot hummus compliments the meal very well. Perkynana smoothie is a sweet but not overpowering with the banana and cocoa blend💯🙌🏾
We went here for coffees after a less-than-pleasant experience across the road. Small cafe in the Pt. Chev shopping complex with pleasing decor. We ordered ginger toddy, Vietnamese iced coffee and a peppermint tea. Couldn’t fault anything and the ginger toddy and Vietnamese iced tea were delightful and recommended. I shall be returning.
For some reason every week we get out to Point Chev, it’s sunny and bright. And we think it’s a pretty apt way to describe Spilt Milk, tucked beside the old-school stalwart of a shopping arcade. White tiling and pine wood, tick. Pastel feature wall, tick. Copper circle mirror, tick. Six Barrel Sodas, tick - these guys have “trendy” down to the t. The lack of a bathroom was a bit of a surprise, although there were a set of public ones outside of the shopping complex. We were particularly intrigued by the Vietnamese-inspired items on the menu - apparently the Vietnamese coffee packed quite a punch, might be the Velo beans though. Next time we’re keen to try the coffee tonic and Becka’s Feed the Vegan, though maybe with a side of chicken #notthepoint.

Located in Pt Chev right next to countdown it’s an odd place for a café but once your inside its quite secluded and away from foot traffic. The plus side of its location is that there is plenty of parking. With a Metro top 50 café 2016 sticker on the front door we had high hopes for this place. Greeted on arrival we grabbed some menus and took a seat. The interior design has a scandi feel to it and a modern colour pallet. The pastel tiled walled makes a great feature and adds a bit of colour to the space. The menu has some great classics and also some Vietnamese inspired dishes which seems to be trending right now.
My partner ordered the Paleo breakfast which was a good sized dish and was really clean. It was nice to have a ‘big breakfast’ but not feel overly full afterwards, we skipped one poached egg though as it was overdone and the yolk was firm...bummer! I went for the Bene deluxe with haloumi as I had heard nothing but good things via foodie write ups and reviews. There wasn’t anything extraordinary to the dish, each element was done. I wasn’t sure on the hollandaise sauce though as it had a strong wholegrain mustard flavour. The coffee was great and was served in pretty gold foil printed mugs.
Split milk is a well presented café that offers great coffee and decent food. Not sure if we’d make the drive especially for it again but it’s worth checking out if you’re in the area.
Good, good, good. I originally ordered the Best Ugly bagel (avo) but the person that took our order came back to tell me that had no sauerkraut. Seemed a fairly impt component of the dish so I switched to pretzel roll with pork. Delicious! And the coffee was hot and strong. Would def go again.
always lovee their almond milk flat white(since they uses unsweetened almond milk~)and veggie bap!! And they have free sparking water which is just prefect:)
Bought myself a Hot Chocolate with my mum one time while visiting family in the area. I gotta say my favourite beverage never seems to disappoint each time I got and purchase one.
The people were very kind and friendly and the time to make the beverage didn't take as long either. The time we were there, it wasn't that busy at all.
Going to the inside of the cafe, it has that hip-artisan feel. With their tables and chairs all made from wood, especially their benches. I like their tile designs on the wall that has different colours, it surely brings this place alive.
After reading the top 50 list, I've made it my mission to visit every single cafe on it 😂, which in turn brought me to Spilt Milk. I came in blind on this one - and boy was I surprised! The decor reminds me of a Scandinavian cabin which is quite lush compared to the surrounding area (a strip mall). When you walk in you instantly feel lifted by the creative use of light throughout ☀️. The menu is far different from what you would expect by the decor though! It has a heavy Vietnamese influence which is definitely an Auckland cafe trend 😎. The service is ok, nothing great but nothing bad either. Most importantly - the food 🥓, everything definitely house made and you can taste that in every bite you take! I was getting close to writing a petition for real homemade granola 😂 just kidding 😉. All in all I'd definitely say Spilt Milk is nothing to cry over, but instead something to celebrate 🤓
This place is awesome! Great coffee, delicious food and super friendly staff. I had the Paleo Breakfast and it was perfect, exactly what I was after. My dining companion had The Works and he raved about it. The coffee is always good and for a sweet treat their bliss balls are super yummy. I can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu.
Only had the Vietnamese Coffee and some cabinent food. The coffee was really good, really strong and served dissembled so you can add as much or little coffee, condensed milk, and/or tonic water to your liking.
Love this place! Was discussing with some friends how Pt Chev needs a fun local coffee spot for us all to go to/to take visitors too- then this place popped up! Couldn't sing andy greater praises of this place if I tried. Decor wise, its super fun and fresh. Food and drinks are SO tasty. Customer service is best I have received from a cafe in Auckland. New fav hands down!
Tucked away in an old-school shopping complex, Spilt Milk can be a little tricky to spot from the main road. But it's a bright, open yet inviting space. Offers classic cafe food as well as a Vietnamese Beef Pho which is one of the better pho I've had in Auckland!
Great menu, and a great vibrant place that really livens up the pt chev shops. A few teething errors- such as my ice coffee taking 20 minutes. But the place was full and you do expect that when a place has newly opened. Will definitely be back
Spilt Milk is a nice little cafe in the Arcade Mall of Point Chevaliar shops and had a nice range of both cooked food and counter food available, as well as drinks and coffee etc.
Well located in the centre of Pt Chevalier and parking right in front of the Woolworths, so it's nice and convenient to stop in for a bite to eat or takeaway and coffee.
It has a good range of foods to satisfy everyone's tastes and sufficient seating so that you can generally get a table easy enough.
Clean and tidy and popular with both the locals and visitors if you're liking for somewhere to relax and have something to eat.
Cheers😊
Thoroughly enjoyed our brunch today.
Food was very tasty and great coffee with efficient service.
Only complaints is the cutlery is too long and difficult to use and too much sauce on my plate took up a lot of room, making the toast soggy.
Definitely keen to come back.
Mark my words. I had to have a blood test...then waddled over the road and discovered the BEST VIETNAMESE PHO IN AUCKLAND!!!
I go often. Here's me giving my friend Sanmeet Whiskey for his birthday. The lovely older lady at the next table told me I have beautiful eyes and look like that Colin model TV guy..... I laughed and said its actually me!!! She made my week.
Looks small from the outside but there are quite a few tables and seating inside. Good customer service and the food was delicious. Ordered the Royale today and everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I especially loved the hashbrown. It was crispy and had Indian flavours in it. The chips and dips were alo delicious.
What a great spot, awesome staff and cool vibe. Loved the water station with still and sparkling options.
Food was delicious special shout out to those hash browns made in house they were out the gate 😋 and the coffee ☕️ fantastic will definitely be back....
I used to get my coffee here when I was still commuting for work. They have always served nice cuppa coffee and it was always nice getting my caffeine fix from them before I start my day. But aside from that, I also remember their team as very helpful and accommodating. In one of my trips to their shop, I tripped over right in front of their doorstep and their crew immediately helped me out and gave me a whole ice pack for my swollen ankle, and a free latte. I appreciate that small act of kindness they showed. Will always remember this shop with fondness.
Great cafe in Point Chev! My friend and I had the Banh Mi and Vietnamese Noodle Salad which they kindly changed the meat from beef to chicken.
The guys behind the counter were all very friendly and cheerful. Coffee is delicious! Would come back again!
Love the decor and the coffee was really good. Eggs benedict was very good but definitely skip the salmon, not sure why but it was a very strange purple colour and tasted almost pickled... 🤢
Best blueberry pancakes with fresh fruit and yoghurt so yum! Really nice coffee too
Went for breakfast and coffee, the food was amazing!! My wife says the coffee is great too. The staff are super friendly, we'll definitely be back before leaving New Zealand.
