Best UberEATS option by a landslide. I feel quite spoiled by my regular Craft Kitchen delivery, especially the sneaky paleo cookies! Thanks for keeping me going when work is too busy for food!

Good attentive staff, pleasant seating arrangement and really good food and coffee. Fantastic dumplings with amazing souces. The burger was saucy (maybe too saucy for some) and full of flavour. Coffee was well made with good flavour and no burnt beans.

Venue: 4/5
Price/portion: 4/5

My first visit to craft kitchen. I ordered the paleo gnocchi($20), it was made out of kumara and pumpkin. This is the first time I’m having gnocchi without the starch which is great for healthy eating. The other ingredients(assorted nuts with skin) served with the paleo gnocchi is interesting as well. My husband had the paleo egg Benedict with salmon($24). We always love places that do not serve supermarket ready smoked salmon on egg benedict. The egg Benedict with salmon is on the high side in term of cost.

Excellent coffee: flavourful with no burnt taste. Pleasant, seating arrangement and atmosphere. Good attentive staff with initiative. Brilliant food with sharp fresh flavours that were well portioned: enough to full you without feeling overfull. Interesting menu with healthy and naughty choices.

Cute little cafe with very friendly staff. The food tastes amazing and the serving portion is bigger than your average Ponsonby cafe. The coffee was just perfect!!

Great cute cafe, just on the traffic lights and open early. I think the highlight here is GF , pale and organic options more than other cafes. Food was good, staff extremely lovely. Decor simple (could be better)

Popped in here to try a healthy breakfast version!.... Service was friendly although we didn't get offered any water after taking our breakfast order., I suppose you get it yourself.. They weren't busy.. And the young lady was on her mobile when she wasn't serving... We ordered Paleo eggs benedict with hand cured free range bacon & avacado on the side..and buckwheat crepe with berries coconut yoghurt & pistachio.... Interesting ... Crepes weren't sweet and was nice... Not fussed on the bacon but the rest was nice and healthy .... And would prefer the cutlery that's brought to you in a glass jar to be upright as then they don't touch the dirty bottom of the jar...

Been doing this stupid thing called junk free June - WHY!

I have been told of this place due to its Paleo selection so I tried the savoury muffin with butter on the side, it was bloody good! Coffee great and service sharp. Only thing is parking could be a bitch during the day.

One of my all time favourite cafés: on top of serving the best coffee, in my opinion, in Auckland, they ceaselessly impress by mastering the unlikely combination of delicious and healthy: refined sugar free desserts, free range ingredients, dairy free, gluten free baked goods...There's something new every week.

Service is beyond friendly, always with a smile.

I'm working close by so I choose here to have lunch today. It's bit of pricy, I believe you can get double size food anywhere else with the same price. But it reflects the material they use is natural, organic and healthy. Please don't miss out their pumpkin soup with homemade organic bread, which is the best pumpkin soup I he ever had in Auckland. The waiter is nice and the background music pleases me well. The hot chocolate doesn't impress me, will try coffee next time or smoothies if their machine gets back working. Btw, I don't think it's good idea to go there when u r really hungry, because the size is too small. lol

Popped in here after yoga for a quick breaky and was pleasantly surprised. This super cute cafe had a great range of healthy and even paleo eats. I had the muesli with plum and vanilla custard, it was so good! The custard was under the muesli like a hidden treasure! I will definitely be visiting again!

I like this place. The paleo cookies are fantastic, the coffee is very good and the menu is interesting.

It's pricy, but this reflects the good quality ingredients used. The meals are a little rustic, that homemade feel vs. super-polished cafe. Oh and the smoothies are first rate.

Generally the service is good, though can be a little unfriendly depending upon who is on.

I went here on Sunday afternoon, just before closing. All I can say is the staff are absolutely awesome, down to earth people! You guys were utterly fantastic and provided some of the best service I've ever had! Not to mention the coffee and cabinet food was top notch! Will totally be coming back this weekend!

I always wanted to visit this place.
They have organic/ paleo main, as I am not paleo but I enjoyed so much! Considered myself into paleo even.
I had cocoa nibble pancake with roasted banana, agave syrup... As the little bitter and sweet flavour of cacao nibble goes so well with natural sweetness of roasted banana! Joy!
My partner had 90days ages beef steak with beet root puree(if I am correct! I was busy eating my pancake), I had a little bite and it was delicious.

Warm service and very enjoyable environment.
I will definitely visit this place again.
Thank you!!!

We had brunch @ CK this morning and really enjoyed it. Ck's in a small space and we started off sitting outside but then were lucky enough to score a table inside.

Between the 3 of us we ordered 2x eggs benedicts w. CK's house smoked Akaroa Salmon and 1xeggs benedict w. their home cooked free range bacon AND of course 3x coffees, all double shots.

This was my first time trying Paleo bread and I liked it a lot. I liked the coconutty aftertaste and would definitely try some more of the Paleo menu @ CK. The staff are amazingly friendly and we left feeling nicely satisfied.

Dropped into the Craft Kitchen by chance as we were in the area and were looking for somewhere to get a coffee and a cake, we ordered two coffees and a Gluten/Dairy/Sugar free Muffin, now I have had these types of muffins before and they have tasted like sawdust! But the muffin from Craft Kitchen was just amazing, it  melted in your mouth and didn't give you that heavy feeling you often get from some of the other types of muffins that are not as good as the one we had at Craft Kitchen, and the coffee was just beautiful, I was so impressed that I complemented the owner.
I will definitely go there again and would highly recommend this cafe to anyone, yes the prices are slightly higher then some places but the quality far out weights the price.

I am seriously addicted to Crafts sandwiches! Bread made on the premises, gorgeous fillings (you have to have them toasted) perfection! Treats are delicious but also healthy - a bonus!Great coffee (love the almond milk option). To find local friendly service is lovely too.

Finally!  A place where we don't have to ask for "x carby thing to be substituted with something else".

My wife and I eat a very low carb diet (ketogenic) not paleo.  So this means we avoid all sugars, refined or otherwise.  They are using misleading terminology on a lot of their items.  Tagging them as #sugarfree when they're not.  They're "refined" sugarfree which means nothing if you're avoiding sugar in general.  Now this is a minor point because most of the paleo people seem to be fine with banging sugar into their bodies as long as it doesn't come from a factory or something like that. But for us, we have medical conditions that preclude the consumption of any kind sugar.  We get abnormally excited when we find "sugar free" items, then bitterly disappointed when it turns out to be full of honey instead.

We popped in there to check if they had non-sugared items and they do.  Their banana bread is keto, the only sugar in it comes from the bananas and it's minimal. Their almond bread also has no sugar of any kind in it.

Their cooked menu is pretty good with classic items like eggs bene on it.  It's lovely to be able to just get an eggs bene and not have to do the awkward dance of asking for the bread/bagel/muffin to be replaced with something else.  They serve it on their almond bread.  The hollandaise is homemade with coconut oil which imparts a unique flavour, not as good as butter of course but that's again a paleo vs keto gripe.  The convenience of not having to ask for replacements outweighs that.  I agree with the other reviewers that the prices are steep.  But this is Ponsonby (high rent) and it's an organic cafe with specialty items (high product cost and time investment).  So they get a pass for that from me.  You don't come to Ponsonby for cheap designer, organic food.  Go to Kingsland for that, but in a few months their prices will be about the same with the gentrification that's going on in that area.  I digress....

They have cream for their coffee too, which is good.  The staff are friendly and recognised us from a previous scouting visit.  The proximity to the road isn't an issue, there we no fumes or serious road noise in the cafe.

We were in the area so we came to Craft Kitchen on Friday morning for a coffee and a bite to eat. The space is small but sunny and the decor is simple but nice. The tables are quite close together, but as it turns out my friend knew the people sitting in the table next to us so this wasn't really a problem.

We ordered three coffees, two scones and a cookie. I would have liked to order a cooked breakfast but felt their prices were a bit steep. I didn't realise until reading the menu properly that their food is paleo and gluten free. Their cook to order menu looked a bit different but the prices are high for breakfast and it looks like most diners opt for cabinet food which is much cheaper. I do understand that this kind of cooking leads to higher prices, I just wasn't quite willing to part with $20+ for a casual brekkie. Their menu is limited and I found it difficult to pick something. I usually find too many things on menus that I want to eat rather than the other way around.

My paleo gingernut cookie used almond flour and was sugar free, gluten free and dairy free. It was chewy and delicious, very gingery.

The others had the home cured free range bacon and aged cheddar scones which came with a lovely butter curl (note to self: buy a butter curler). Tasty scones, but it was a little weird that one scone was large and one was small (both the same price). They should have tried to bring 2 scones of similar sizes to the same table. Luckily my sister who received the small scone didn't mind too much.

Craft Kitchen were a little busy, but not packed so it was a little disappointing they forgot my cookie. I had to remind them at the counter about it (twice) before it was delivered.

The coffees were good and I liked the cute mismatched retro crockery. The fresh waterlillies at each table was a very nice touch.

There are not many sunny spots like this in the city. A lovely place to start the day. The menu isn't quite what I would normally eat, but I can still appreciate it. Happy to come back to try another paleo gluten free treat with a decent coffee.

I'm a fan of organic or free range food where and when possible. The breakfasts we've had at this cafe in recent weeks, have been excellent and soo tasty!   Highly recommended, along with excellent coffee.  They also cater for gluten free clients etc.  Great to know the food you are eating is organic and the bread is made in-house that morning - there's nothing like eating freshly baked, home made bread!

This place has food that is really sustaining.  Coffee and a savoury scone and I'm good until late lunch.  The service is much improved from a slow start when they first opened and the team are friendly and obliging, serving our soy lattes in glasses (as is our preference) although mugs are the norm here.
I haven't tried the full menu yet but am looking forward to house cured bacon.
Not a huge menu but it's well pitched with everything either paleo or gluten free it seems.
More staff now so service is quicker and it's well located with parking almost always available right outside - perfect for a quick coffee on the way to work.

My first visit today and I'm so happy I'll be back as soon as I can....must try those wholegrain pancakes! Superior coffee (I had 2), extremely delicious orange/raspberry muffin (bought one to take home), have just eaten my wonderful take-away kale/quinoa/smoked salmon salad. Renovated in a minimalist way that respects the history of this old building. It's nice to visit a place that does not just churn out food by the pound! What's not to like?  Yes, they will become more experienced over time -- I'm glad to know them now.

Love this place! Incredible baking, delicious coffee, lovely friendly atmosphere and the best bacon EVER – seriously.

Nearly everything at Craft is made completely from scratch. Flour for the bread and baking is milled fresh in-house, the meat and fish are smoked on the premises. Good option for people that are into clean eating, and the owners are more than happy to chat about how all the food is made.

Have been back three weekends in a row now … only complaint is its getting too popular! If you're reading this please make extra salted caramel cupcakes...
