Excellent and authentic pizza, pasta, and innovative desserts. Great service provided as well. Would highly recommend. The restaurant itself is small so consider making a reservation or order take away.
We keep coming back to this place because it is just great. Gino is a masterful host and very generous. Excellent food and good wine selection as well. Highly reccomend
Well beyond the bar for an excellent review. Food was great ~ I tried the fish soup and the tiramisu both were superb but what makes this place is the owner. Came in with a cold and asked for some hot water. I was served hit water with lemon and mint with manuka honey on the side and a fragranced tequila to fight the sore throat. Exceptional service combined with great food makes this local restaurant well worth a visit.
Consistently fabulous food and great service, always fresh and tasty . Wonderful wine choices too. Tiny intimate local dinning . Love this place!!!
Absolute favourite Italian in Auckland, really small restaurant so you need to make sure you book before going. My family and I have been there multiple times and it has never disappointed, the staff and service is great and all the food is amazing (we have tried every pasta on the menu). The prosciutto pizza is also amazing and there is an awesome takeaway menu available. Would recommend to anyone!
My fav little restaurant! It's a lovely local, very intimate (only seats about 16 people and two sittings 6.30pm and 8.15pm). The menu is always changing, the food is rich and delicious, the antipasto is super tasty and the desserts are authentic and unforgettable!
Small size outlet. Only 6 tables. Simple décor. Service was attentive, friendly, and helpful. The only downside is the waitress not very familiar with the menu. So one of kitchen colleagues has to come out to explain. Food taste excellent. Will come back to try other dishes.
This is a fantastic little Italian restaurant in Remuera. I feel like I'm dining back on Lygon St, Melbourne. Good menu, fantastic pizza and wine. Good service. Well worth paying a visit.
Amazing food, rustic real Italian. Great service. Will be coming back often. We had the specials after being recommended it, really enjoyed them. Great to see non 'kiwified' Italian- keeping to tradition style Naples cooking
Amazing food with great service. The chef & the front of house staff very helpful with great recommendations. Always get the specials- they're there for a reason. Make sure to book!
Turned up a few months back with my son looking for a takeaway pizza. Excellent service. We ended up sitting at the only free table and under the capable guidance of the staff we were soon going Italian. My son and I really enjoyed our unplanned meal. The Italian beers were a bonus. Perhaps a little tight for space.
Squid ink pasta.
Enough said.
Having been introduced to this delectable dish at Jamie's in Sydney - I have failed to find anything that can top this dish.
Until I chanced upon Spacca.
Luscious, generous, fresh... hard to fault this dish.
Be warned that squid ink pasta is an acquired taste.
Went here for Valentine's day, atmosphere is very relaxing, shop is small but comfort!! Most important food is amazing!! Will visit again for sure to try other dish!!
Small (really small) and charming place in Remuera. I have tried a classic pizza with prosciutto crudo, one of the best Italian ingredients.
The quality of the cured ham was good, and the price was quite reasonable. But I must say that I wasn't very pleased by the quality of the cheese they poured over it, and it would be also great if they wood fired the pizza.
I haven't tried the pastas and antipasti yet, but they look delicious.
If you wanna go there for dinner, just be careful to be early or you may have to wait a bit.
Little gem in Remuera. Authentic Italian food and friendly service. Highly recommend to order antipasti. The highlight from antipasti for me were: fresh mozzarella with cherry tomatoes, red onion in vinegar; eggplant with olives, vinegar and chocolate sauce- greatly balanced; homemade bread with tiny bit of ham. I had squid ink pasta, which I loved as I'm a fan of unique strong flavours.
All of that went well with A bottle of red Aglianico del Vulture Pipoli 2013, recommended by staff.
Delicious food and good service. We tried the pizza and the pasta. We went for the chefs specials with the pasta and both dishes were amazing! Dessert specials just topped everythig off perfectly. The place is very small so you end up hearing everyone elses conversations but the one thing everyone talks about is how good the food is. Definitely make a booking because there are so few tables.
Enjoyed an amazing simple italian meal here last night. Beef ragu in tomato sauce with pasta - so good really enjoyed it, but a bit disappointed the pasta was not made on the premises! Had tiramisu which was also really good. I had heard alot about this restaurant and was keen to try it and am so pleased I made the effort I would return.
I adored O'Sarracino and when it closed down I was devastated. Needless to say I was super excited when the same guys opened Spacca and brought their Napoli charm to Remuera.
The restaurant is tiny and on a Friday night felt extra crowded with people piling in for takeaway pizza.
Our meal was good but not as exciting as my memories of O'Sarracino. Portions were on the small side, with my main sized Spaghetti Nero with prawns only featuring two prawns.
The waiters ooze the brusque swagger that Naples is famous for (he ignored our protests that we were too full for dessert and insisted we have it anyway!) which might ruffle some people, but I loved it as it reminded me of our travels in Italy.
I think next time I'll opt for the takeaway pizza as the restaurant was a bit too cramped!
Fantastic genuine southern Italian cuisine in a little hideaway gem in Remuera of all places.
Just take on the recommendation of the serving staff which is the ideal thing to do. We had the antipasti to start with which was a combination of bread, sautéed zucchini, a couple of aubergine dishes and platter or buffalo mozzarella salad. All perfectly sized, delicious and flavoursome bringing back memories of eating in Naples.
Mains of squid ink pasta which was cooked al dente with light touches of subtle flavour and well cooked seafood was a delight.
The fish fillet with crazy water was cooked perfectly with delicious flavours of the sea and freshness of the tomatoes which blended extremely well on the palate
Dessert of tiramisu capped off a memorable evening.
Overall a cozy intimate place which is a must for authentic lovers of southern Italy and we will be back for the intriguing pizzas
Lovely southern Italian food and we enjoyed that we didn't even need to order - just took the host's recommendations - which may not suit everyone. We had the antipasti and then we both had different fish dishes. Fresh anchovies!! - not something you see a lot of in Auckland and they were delicious. Shame it's not a bit bigger though - they were turning away a lot of people.
Truly Amazing!!!!
Real italian, friendly staff and tasty options.
Totally worth it and you'll want to come back again once you've tried it...
Incredible food with fantastic staff, that are attentive, informative and quick witted. They created a great birthday experience, one that I would like to repeat on a regular basis. The best Italian restaurant I have found outside of Italy.
Some of the best Italian food I've had outside Italy. Not cheap but worth every penny. Antipasti tasted really fresh and had Incredible flavours. Gnocchi was cooked to perfection and the Torta Caprese was to die for.
Very intimate and cosy. The food is to die for especially the Ragu Napoletano and Gnocchi which is hard to go past. In fact that's all i can order and I have been here four times already. A welcome addition to the Auckland scene. Love!
Brilliant place. Excellent food and proper Italian style. Gino the manager is a great host. Thanks heaps Gino see you next time!!
An authentic Italian (Napoli) restaurant in New Zealand: a rare thing indeed. Exceptionally good food and caring, personable device. Dined Friday 15 July 2016.
Dined there last night. Good quality Italian food and friendly staff members. The place is abit small but the food made up for it.
Very authentic and delicious Italian food. Service is great. Unfortunately it has very limited seating and is very pricey.
Intimate space, Authentic food with warm personal attention from the well informed staff, fantastic anti pasto opener and the Risotto special of the day was sensational
A must visit
Is a great little please .the food a Neapolitan Cucina .go and give a try in joining your dinner .buon appetite
We enjoyed our pizzas, nice food, pricy but worth it
Service and food were both pretty much incredible, would recommend for sure
