The cafe is a cute local joint with a small team who are always friendly and willing to make menu suggestions. Wouldn't right home about the coffee (it was burnt with no crema formation) but the breakfast menu has a great variety of choices with something for everyone. I had the big breakfast which on this particular day came with the mince (usually served on the mince of toast) as the potato cake was out of stock. The ciabatta was fresh and tasty and the scrambled eggs well cooked (not dry or rubbery). We also go the chicken parma (using 1+1 Zomato deal) and this meal was a very decent portion size. Would come back again to try other menu items - but probably not for coffee :)
Rockys keep the menu fairly simple, which suits me, and they do each thing on the menu really well in their own style.
Compared to many other cafes their dishes just seem to have a bit more care and effort, whether it be the type of bread used, the way the cook eggs, addition of their own potato cakes (rather than bought hash browns etc).
Service is always personal and friendly.
Coffee is excellent.
It’s also one of those places that has managed to nice relaxed atmosphere without going over the top on fitout.
Hard to not keep coming back ...

Found this little gem when it first open and it has been my usual weekend joint since.
Their food is really amazing and value for money. There is always plenty of parking at the side. Occasionally we get some free freshly baked donuts. I always bring my visiting guest to my local joint and the feedback is always great.

Great food and environment! Very healthy and very tasty. Parking is around the back. Overall it was a really great experience. Its a nice place for families to relax with some authentic Italian food!

We had wanted to try Rockys for a while now, since it opened, but had never made it. No problem getting a table on a Friday night at short notice, which was a bit of a surprise as we had heard good things. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. There were some loud patrons and I did notice that the noise was rebounding a bit off the walls with few soft furnishings to absorb it. Could get hard to have a conversation if it was packed out - maybe they could think about putting in some sound baffling.
We ordered calamari for an entree as the seafood chowder which was the soup of the day had run out. It was delicious and came in good time. My Wife had the beef pappardelle which was amazing and I went all traditional with the cabonara. All very tasty, which was great as we got full and had some to take home for lunch the next day! A simple menu that they appear to do well and great service. Would have liked to see a few more than one non coffee based options for desert eg a sticky date would top things off, if we'd have had room...
A nice addition to Mt Albert and we are going back for a birthday meal with the whole family tonight!
Such an amazing dinner at Rockys on a quiet Wednesday winter evening. 5+ stars for food and service and we ate our way through all three courses of your lovely menu. Winning priced menu with our huge & beautiful entree of tender Calamari with rocket only a modest $12.50. Recommend to all in the area. BYO wine an absolute bonus and a lovely, well-priced wine list if you happen to order at the restaurant. If you are like me a fussy foodie and usually prefer to cook at home than have a disappointing and average restaurant meal then Rockys won't disappoint.

We enjoyed our first dinner at Rocky’s so much that we returned two more times within ten days. My husband had the fillet steak each time . And every time it was perfectly cooked. Over the three visits I had the pork belly, fish risotto, and a lamb special. Our daughter had one of the pasta meals. Again each meal, including vegetables, was perfect. We love the quiet ambience and the warm welcome of a family-owned restaurant. Rocky is a talented chef and the subtle flavours will delight you. Even the ‘ordinary’ fries/chips are flavoured with herbs.
Today, for the first time,we visited for breakfast. Our ‘big breakfast ‘ meals were all homemade. The potato cake sweet with onion and bacon, the ciabatta fresh, soft and delightfully chewy with a hint of garlic. Eggs, bacon, sausage etc all great and we couldn’t finish the generous portions.
I feel Rocky’s will be our second home in Mt Albert. 🙂 For us, it’s just a short walk. I’m looking forward to sharing Rocky’s with friends - knowing that the quality meal and warm welcome will please them as much as it does us.
Ordered the chicken parmigiana and a soy chai latte on a quiet Anzac Day morning. Went with two friends who ordered more breakfast-y food. The service was wonderful, the ambiance was calming. Was quite funny to hear 'the Lion King' as we ate our food, but I'm not necessarily complaining! Food itself was above and beyond with some of the richest mixing of cheese and tomato flavour I have had the pleasure of experiencing for a long time. The chicken was generously crumbed, and added to the experience hugely. Even the latte was a talking point for how lovely it was! Definitely a sweet chai, not a spicy one, and so lovely. Definitely affordable for what you receive - I needed the help of my friends to finish my $18 meal. Thank you Rockys for the wonderful time, see you again soon.
Second dinner at Rockys. Delicious and excellent value. BYO wine. Ordered calamari, pork belly and steak both times as they were so good. Steak was perfectly cooked, calamari tender with rocket and aioli. All very generous servings. Good to see other locals supporting Rockys on Friday night. I have also ordered their roulade sponge cake and ciabatta to takeaway for entertaining at home which are delicious and exceptional value.
Fantastic food and above and beyond service. Although quiet at times it’s definitely worth a much repeated visit. Food was absolutely top class.
Great local eatery with especially good, strong coffee. Always feel welcome and this place has become my go-to for my Saturday morning coffee

Delicious baking and love their service with a smile. Only have ever tried their sweet bakes, consistently delicious [light and fresh]. Loved it so much that I ordered birthday cake for a party and EVERYONE asked where I got it from.

Pleasant staff, tasty food! We have tried the waffles, soft crumble egg, middle eastern breakfast, classic breakfast and we were very pleased.
They also have great coffee.
Think they could do with a few cushions as bench seats are a bit hard.
Visited Rockys for the first time for a family brunch, food was great, stuffed mushrooms were very tasty, the vegetarian option was rated well. Coffee was good and strong, service was perfect.

Lovely meal, was picked off the cuff this evening whilst on the way home. Very quiet which was nice, but I would love the place to take off. Service was pleasant and the food was well above expected. We ordered the chicken with creamy white wine sauce (was lovely), creamy cabonara, risotto and pork belly. All were very tasty and homely. The home style fries were delicious. Will be back as we live locally.
Came here about a week ago for dinner. Service was friendly, ambience was ok but maybe lighting could be adjusted a little in the evenings so it's not too dark? Food came out promptly and tasted good. We had the polenta bites, the chicken breast and the vegetarian fettuccine. Food tasted good, but will maybe come back when there's more available on the menu. there were limited options when we went, as they hadn't prepped for everything in the menu. Also the menu only shows hot drinks, but nothing cold. Would be good to see a bigger range of drinks available on the menu
5 star review for this place. From the time we walked in to this place, we felt at home because our server, Aimee was so amazing. She greeted us with a smile and sat us down. She looked after our every need. The food was as amazing as the service. From starters to mains, everything was fantastic. We had salt n pepper calamari, hand cut fries, aranchini balls. The squid was crispy on the outside abut succulent to eat. Our mains were fantastic too. Pizza Margarita, Chilly Garlic Prawns, chicken rissoto, chicken parmagiano. Thank you Rocky for such an amazing evening and dinner.
Rocky’s is one of the best in our local area. This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide wine alcohol list and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.

Our very own hidden gem in plain sight. A cozy and unpretentious neighborhood cafe with outstanding food and service.
The cooking is as close to home cooking as you can get outside of your home.
The menu offers variety without overwhelming you with options.
The food is freshly cooked, delicious, and the presentation is picture perfect. By the way, the bread is baked in house daily and the food is cooked by the owners themselves.
The owners are very friendly and have a genuine interest in their clientele. So, if you are on the lookout for a lovely little cafe with outstanding food and service, you found it.

Totally 5 stars. The food was exactly as beautiful as the photos on their website. (All Looked and tasted AMAZING) Portion sizes were perfect. Service was excellent. Prices exceptional for the quality of food - highly recommend.
I came because I heard about the burglary and wanted to give local support. But I must say it impressed me. The food was beautiful and yummy. Fresh simple ingredients like Italian food ask for! The menu is simple and straight. The restaurant is small but very cozy... it's a great experience and I would definitely come back. I hope they get to come trough this dark phase and keep the restaurant.
