Went here with a friend. Got the spicy chicken and bulgogi to share. Service was great and the food was delicious. Bulgogi was fantastic, really flavorful. Wished the chicken was spicier as it felt a little mild but overall was amazing.
Came here for my friend’s birthday dinner and I can definitely say Red Pig is a high quality KBBQ place. I literally ate my body weight in food because it’s so good. The sides were all delicious especially the spring onion and lettuce salad with a red paste. The marinated meat was my favourite compared to the non marinated meats because it was the perfect sweet and savoury balance. The fried chicken tasted just like any other Korean fried chicken. Not too sure what the specific dishes are called but I highly recommend checking them out!
We ate here on a Saturday night 3 of us. The waitresses were friendly and we ordered our food - we had ordered the korean fried chicken half and half and some soju and beer to start which arrived really quick. The fried chicken was awesome delicious the marinated Korean fried chicken it wasn't too sweet or spicy just right. The buttered corn cheese was very delicious and liked by everyone. The waitresses had forgotten to give us cups so we had to ask and there wasn't much meat selection for the bbq available (we ordered the beef brisket and the marinated pork belly) when we went which was a little bit of a bummer, but the food we did have was all delicious and the waitresses friendly, so would return again but hopefully more meat options for the bbq available next time.
Always order pork belly here Korean style spicy pork is the best. Service is friendly, staffs all kind and helpful.

Love their bbq party. We ordered pork belly and spicy marinated pork tenderloin also some soybean paste soup. Yummy food and i love the pork meat here. Definitely come back again soon
Ordered korean marinated pork, spicy marinated pork, and chardol soybean paste soup.
The ingredients for everything was really top quality, the meat was well prepared and marinated and once cooked was super tasty, chewy yet soft and delectable. The sides were generous, we got a plate of kimchi, coleslaw, salad, radish x2, and rice. The chardol soybean paste soup was also really tasty, a small portion it seems but it is heavily packed with delicious tofu, veg and beef brisket. The mix of beef and soup was super tasty and paired deliciously with rice.
The service was great, they were super helpful and helped us with a bit of cooking.
Overall the atmosphere was great, food was delicious, however I did feel it’s slightly on the more expensive side for the portion of meat served. About two three palm sized pieces of meat per portion. Great authentic kbbq experience though! And this place will always hold special memories hehehe.
The pork makchang is super soft and not too chewy. I reckon it’s the best place in Auckland for makchang.
Pretty authentic Korean BBQ. Overall the experience is good. Maybe try to add more items on the menu? I feel like the selection is quite limited and a little bit on the expensive side.
Great Korean BBQ. Great choices on the menu. First quality meat to cook. The beef tartare is my favourite. Very traditional with the pear and tasted just like what I had in Korea. Big portion too.
Excuse the underqualified photos, the lighting wasn't bright enough :( This place was worth the five stars because the food is absolutely amazing.
Tried the marinated pork (non-spicy one), the traditional korean style lunch box, and a cold noodle. All were perfect, not too spicy nor too bland. Staff members are very attentive and friendly - would very much recommend.
Fkn some amazing kbbq @redpig in cbd.
We ordered 2x 항정살/ inner pork shoulder/neck ($44) and 1x 막창/ pork gizzard ($23), along with cold noodles ($15) and bean paste stew ($16) - aka near the pricier side.
Holy, the pork shoulder/neck was sooooo good, it was tender and juicy and just the right amount of fattiness. You could definitely tell the state of the meat was fresh for this one 🤤 But the gizzard- ehh I've had worse, but wasn't that outstanding. The cold noodles were pretty good - nice dish to have with the bbq, and the stew was aite as well (not the best). Just keep in mind that the stew doesn't have a complementary rice that comes with it.
Overall, a nice experience and am pretty willing to return 🤗 (tho i do think you kinda need to depend on luck as to how good the different cuts of meat are)
Kimchi pancake all day every day! Can't get sick of that and when I'm craving it, I can't go past Red Pig. Came here for a BYO and it's soon going to be a regular! Food was well seasoned and fresh! Gotta try the fried chicken next time.
This is one of the first places I've been to where the type of grill you get is dependant on the meat that you order. We had a fairly large group so we got meats for both the charcoal and caldron. We also grabbed a few of the cooked dishes to share.
The BBQ selection is decent, with a variety of different meats, with and without marinades. The side dishes included kimchi, spicy leek and a salad. There was also a selection of different dipping sauces. The meats were quite nice but thought the portions were a bit small (around 200g per serving). The cooked food was also quite nice. The fried chicken wasn't spicy, more sweet, but it was crispy. Same with the Totokboki, but it did come with dumplings and egg. The spiciest thing we had was the kimchi. We also had the butter corn but the corn was chewy so it got stuck in your teeth. The portion was also a bit small. The yoghurt soju was ok but not the best as it wasn't sweet enough.
Nice place for BBQ and the other food was alright. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I had a bowl of rice or noodles with it so I would've been full. I thought that the portions were a bit small to share so it was more try a bit of everything rather than having a decent portion.
I have been watching Korean dramas lately and been craving for Korean BBQ. We ordered pork belly, beef spare ribs and soy paste soup, plus lettuce on the side. It was just superb. Loving the vibe and the service. Definitely will go back soon to try other things on their menu.

Lunch time favourite amongst our workmates. Only $14 and comes with generous and delicious Korean food with side dishes. Have tried their bbq dishes, bimbimbap and kimchi soup. Service can be alittle bit slow in busy time and food can take a while. Prefer their lunch menu than their dinner. Alot cheaper too.
Seriously good! The corn and kimchi pancake were great and the staff members were so nice and helped us out a lot. They made it a great first Korean BBQ experience for my friends!
I’ve only dined here for dinner, in terms of meat I usually order the boneless beef short ribs (not marinated), pork belly and pork neck. Portion and prices are reasonable considering it is in CBD area.
The Korean Cold noodle and spicy cold noodles are the best in CBD. Their bean paste soup is also nice.
Some of the staff here are friendly, atmosphere is casual but not as casual as buffet style Korean bbq places.
Superb food and amazing hospitality. Friendly staff and food is so delicious, went there for bbq and it was the best. Pork Neck is my highest recommendation. Will definitely go there again.
They have a big selection of hot dishes in addition to their bbq meat selection. Their marinated meat is seriously good and the meat is tender even after barbecuing. Also try their corn cheese and their naegmyun if you’re still hungry.
Friendly staff and good food, sensible price. It’s a perfect Korean bbq experience if you are after authentic K bbq. Nothing fancy but as good as we eat back in Korea. Lettuce leaves are extra but recommend to order them on the side. Fried chicken is very good too. This was my 3rd time coming here.
Such a cosy little place to eat at. Prices are reasonable and the mixture of small/large tables are great whether your sharing with a large group or with only a few others. Staff are super attentive and helpful throughout the night
Such a quality korean bbq... unfortunately not a buffet but the quality reflects the price well. Nice side dishes, will definitely be back... awesome place
Super pricey because you won't be just eating one menu each. Whenever I go with a friend or some people we always end up having at least 3 orders each. (Like how a lot of Koreans do in a pork bbq place in Korea). So most of the time I just try to go to the bbq buffet one but I just gotta eat this every now and then simply because it's so good
A bit on the pricey end of the spectrum but we'll worth the price. The service and quality of food provided was well done and just overall a great place to eat out at
#CorianderCouple It's an amazing experience for us. We usually have Korean BBQ at All-You-Can-Eat restaurants because of the price. However this time we chose this place to treat our friends, then we know how good it is. The portions are fine as the meats are fresh as well. Eating the medium-cooked meats with the dipping sauce is so delicious. Every time we were waiting for the meats be ready, we can't stop watering. Although it's kind of pricy, it's worth it with friends. Beef tartare was good but with kinda frozen flavour, I would recommend people go to Japanese restaurants for this.
Went here for dinner with friends last year.
Pancake had a strong seafood flavour to it. Spicy ramen hot pot was actually quite spicy but that gave the food in it a great flavour to it. Dumplings and rice cakes were delicious.
I do like the set up of the BBQ stone plate at the of the table, and the concept of cooking your own food - it was a lot of fun!
We ordered three BBQ meats and a side dish of sweet and sour chicken to share. The sweet and sour chicken was a bit bland and not worth the $35. But more importantly, their specialty - BBQ meats were delicious. We especially enjoyed the marinated pork and boneless beef short ribs. The dipping sauce was like a sweet soy, with a hint of wasabi, it was very unique, and went very well with the meat.
The mains also came with some side sides, including a kimchi soup and a steamed egg. At around $20 per person, we all left completely full. All in all, although I could not say the same for their other meals, their BBQ are pretty decent value for the amount of food you get.
I really like this Korean BBQ place. Easy to find and their food are really good. We got the marinated pork and the marinated beef ribs. The staff are really nice, the place is really clean and the price for what you actually get is really good. Really enjoyed it. Definitely will come back.
Like this place for Korean bbq. Plenty of street parking around here but tricky to find one during weekends as is at the city central. You need to grill by yourself that adds fun to enjoy the meal. Average/good price is bonus.
My favourite here is their pork kimchi stew!! Usually I order pork belly and marinated beef. Meat here is so good and it really is worth a try.
My partner and I ordered beef scotch fillet, spicy pork, kimchi stew and spicy cold noodle. The beef is very tender and fresh and the pork is marinated with some kind of spicy and sweet sauce. The BBQ is totally worth the price! Also I really like their kimchi stew which is spicy. But when we were about to finish the cold noodle, it has become too sour.
First time in a Korean BBQ, I enjoyed the experience of cook your own, staff are very friendly and helpful, the food was cooked just as i like it ;)
Make your way from lorne st up through the terrace and water features towards kitchener st then you will see red pig right there.
overall deco is fun and edgy with red pipelines running above and chimney hanging above each table, furniture adds more industrial touch.
We three ordered boneless beef short ribs, pig intestine, original & spicy deep fried chicken and spicy kimchi stew, which come with some side dishes and sauce you can top up if needed.
BBQ pig intestine, I get it is not everyone's cup of tea, which was marinated so absolutely full of flavour. For those regard it as weird food, all I can say is you donno wat you missed in life lol.
I really like spicy deep fried chicken, besides the sauce it has got a bit of peanut crumbs on top. However you can taste the sugar usage and ratio of flour. So price wise this dish is not that worthwhile.
The kimchi stew really amazed me last night, besides the common ingredients expected including tofu, cabbage, diced pork, kimchi paste. It just has this unique herbal medical smell which dose not overtake the spicyness but really added another texture and elevated the whole taste.
Waitress are friendly and on to the point. So overall if you crave for Korean BBQ amd looking for a cool place to chill with friend in town. this.can be your go to.
Great location and food. The best Korean BBQ in Auckland and great value. Spent close to $25 per person and had plenty of food left over. Good quality ingredients
Food was yum! Atmosphere was great! Service was ok, although they don't explain what they're giving you, we had no idea what the sides were & when to start with BBQ..it was obvious we weren't Korean/Asian so would've been nice just to have a quick run through menu, felt like we were rushed. Then after an hour our light was dimmed - I'm guessing our time was up?
Great service and environment. There were few customers when we had lunch in Red Pig. We are not good at BBQ and the pretty waitress helped us. There is one little shortage that we waited the pork about 15 min and the time could be shorter. $30 lunch special menu for 2 guests, it's worth :) We will back
Friday night, 8pm dinner party of 4
Value: 4/5
A little bit more on the pricier side then what I'm use to when going to Korean restaurants, but was definitely worth the price. We shared 3 main meals and got two smaller meals as well. Our total bill for the night was $137
Venue: 5/5
Tonight wasn't as busy (which is the way I prefer) interior is beautifully designed and the dim lighting created this low key style ambiance. I hear this place is quite popular and can get quite packed
Service: 5/5
Seated and given menus straight away. Water came out with the menus and also the cutlery. When we were ready to order our waitress was right there. Food came out really quickly probably because they other 3 tables were just drinking. A+ for service though.
Food: 4/5
Delicious! Chicken was the best! Kimchi hot pot was amazing! And the BBQ was definitely a thumbs up I only wish you got more meat for $18. But every thing from the Main meals to the side dishes were delicious.
You might want to make note that it's one bill per table.
You must try their spicy seasoned fried chicken.
Seriously, it’s delicious.
I came here for a group outing of 9 and had 2 gas stations to share for cooking the raw meats. The cuts of meat were clearly stated on the menu and were a true reflection of the actual meats we were presented with. The beef was fresh, tender and very tasty. For a Korean BBQ restaurant, they had a large selection of cooked foods as well. We tried their half/half chicken which consisted of half crispy fried chicken and half the previously mentioned spicy seasoned fried chicken. Both were good but the spicy variation was a clear winner due to the smothering of sweet and spicy sauce. The flavours danced in my mouth and the dish was a delight to eat.We also had a big stew consisting of carrots, sausages, onions, chilli, noodles and a slice of cheese on top. Flavours were good and it was a nice dish to share/ have small portions of.The only fault I have for this restaurant is that the smoke and fumes coming off the BBQ was making a few of us cough. Everything was clean and tidy which is an impressive feat for any BBQ restaurant. It was only $21.5 per person – very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food we consumed.
Red Pig is amazing - I have been several times and the staff are freindly and helpful and the food is tasty and amazing. I love the steak and pork belly with lettuce, fried garlic and seasame oil. The dumplings are one of a kind and truly yummy. also PEACH SOJU - say no more.
Very good Korean BBQ. The spicy chicken is good. Spicy pork and beef short ribs is a goer. Helpfull staff. Clean place. Well priced. Two people about $35 each person with drinks. Only problem parking around kitchener and Lorne St is painful. Be prepared to pay for parking.
WOW!...Okay. So I go in to the Red Pig for lunch & I order stir-fried bulgogi with spicy rice cakes, not expecting too much since it isn't a fancy looking place. The order comes out & I take a bite of my some what dried up looking bulgogi thinking oh it's going to taste really dry BUT boy was I wrong!.
The bulgogi had a smoky taste to it which I absolutely loved & the side dishes were so delicious. The courgette, mung been roots, fishcakes & pieces of sausages. It all went so well along with my spicy rice cakes that were very soft & chewy. Everything complemented each other. It shouldn't come as a surprise to you when I managed to finish BOTH my meals in one go.😶
I 'll be definitely going back to this place to check out the other dishes.✌
Fav cute korean restaurant. Love the food especially the spicy stir fried chicken for lunch. Had dinner here as well a couple of weeks ago and loved the idea of cooking our own meat. Good staff service and prices. Portion size is also very good. Lovely and been here about 3 times now😂😋
Came here for dinner and was not disappointed. We ordered kimchi noodles, cold noodles, pork belly and beef ribs. The place was quite busy and the service was a little slow but wasn't too bad. The standard of meat was ok, exactly what you expect from a bbq. Will definitely come again to try more dishes
We came here on the night of the Labour Monday. Didn't plan it first but as most places were shut we ended up at this place but we were very glad we did. The place has a great vibe and definitely a fun place to share with intimate friends. We ordered beef short ribs and spicy pork- both were delicious and came with many side dishes. We use to go to Bowen on the Shore for Korean BBQ but from now on this will be our choice of destination. We were the only non-Korean on the night which is another good sign :)
Went to Red Pig couple of weeks ago with my friends. Good ambience, very good service and nice food. We enjoyed at Red Pig. ❤️ will be back again.
Went in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. Clean and tidy. Fair variety of meat cuts for a Korean BBQ. Surprised with no alcohol in the afternoons
I've been wanting to come here for the longest time and finally on Tuesday night my friend and I decided to go here as a spur of the moment kind of thing! I'd like to start off by saying how much I love the interior of this place! It gives off a really great vibe which was easy to settle into. The staff were very friendly and attentive! We ended up ordering the marinated pork and boneless beef short rib as well as some green grape soju. The food was really delicious and there were so many side dishes!! This is definitely my new favourite place to eat and I'll definitely be returning (hopefully sometime soon)!
(I'd also like to apologise because I spilt some of my water on the table and created a giant puddle... Although I managed to mop quite a bit up with some tissues... I still felt really bad)
Came to red pig at lunch time and had a spicy beef soup. It was just amazing to have some hot soups in the winter time, the beef was soft and the soup was quite rich and flavourful. You can either have rice or noodles with the soup and all the dishes on their lunch menu are served with free side dishes. Service was good as well.
If you want to try Korean BBQ style this place would suffice. The food was really good but the restaurant is very noisy - too many loud young Korean students and smokers in front of the restaurant.
I think Red Pig is my favourite Korean restaurant now! I came in here with a friend at around 2.30pm for a late lunch. We were greeted by a wonderful member of their staff and were seated immediately. I had been eyeing on the giant pork katsu for a long time, so I ordered that. My friend ordered the Ox Bone Soup. The food didn't take long to arrive, and as expected, the side dishes came first! The side dishes were on point! I was surprised by the massive portion of the pork katsu! There were sliced daikons, rice and some salad as well! I was so happy, I almost forgot to take a picture! The giant pork katsu was worth the $15, and as we finished our side dishes, one of their staff asked us if we wanted more side dishes, which we happily said yes! I'm definitely keen to give their other dishes a try and grill meat as well! Awesome stuff!
We visited tonight wiz other 8 ppl. We have great time here. Such a nice place to catch up wiz friends. The BBQ dish is really good as well as some of the size dish like kimchi soup. One of my friend who studied in Korean love the dish as well. But we don't recommend the fried chicken. The service is ok.
There is a warm place to bring me lots of memories of childhood. Ordered one classic meal box for $ 8.00 and one kimchi soup for $ 12.00 Taste was not bad, but also not very great. If they can cook kimchi soup with a balance between sour and spicy, that would be much better. Staff were friendly.
Very yummy korean BBQ. Clean place and great service!
The happy hour special they have is very nice and great for value. Overall, the meat was fresh and everything was yummy. The design of the place was wonderful!
Probably my favorite Korean joint I've been to so far! If you are looking for some top quality and authentic Korean food this is the place. Their soups, main dishes, side dishes etc are delicious and the atmosphere and layout of the dining area looks and feels as if you're in Korea. A couple negatives however, 1) Not being of Korean decent you are often looked at when you are eating your food by the workers as if you are from a different world which to myself is very rude, 2) BBQ is not that great and only a saucer plate of meat compared to what you would get to another Korean BBQ place.
Hmm my serious craving of dishes such as Budae-Jjigae, jajangmyeon, bossam, Ginseng Chicken and godly Korean fried chicken has rendered my embarkation on a Korean Food tour around Auckland.
My vocation to this cause led me to Red Pig earlier this week. Bright neon lights, a distinctive banner on the entrance, and an open plan layout, had me wondering if this was a restaurant or karaoke place. We were promptly seated when we arrived and to our surprise, the place was bustling with diners for a Tuesday night.
Ordering their Budae-Jjigae and spicy pan fried chicken, our orders took around 20 minutes to come out, which was a little longer than expected. However, we were provided with side dishes to spark our taste buds for the main courses.
Our two dishes had us in absolute awe of Red Pig. The stew was strong in flavour without being overpowered by spice, and the addition of sausage, baked beans, and spring onions made for an authentic and ravenous attitude amongst us. The spicy pan fried chicken came out flaming with heat and kick, but we all loved how tender the chicken was and the addition of ddeokbokki was fabulous.
Highly recommend this joint to everyone who appreciates or wants to understand Korean culture--I mean what better way to understand a culture by infusing yourself with their culinary delights?
Showstopper: Army Stew for the win
Overall Grade: A
Delicious kimchi hot pot for $35 that can definitely feed at least 2 people. Might seem expensive but it has a lot of kimchi, meat, dumplings, tofu and ramen noodles so definitely worth it. Comes with rice bowls for each person
Pretty good tasting kimchi hotpot for $35, comes with a kimchi stew with tofu pieces, ramen noodles, meat and dumplings so pretty good value too. Perfect for two or even three people. Came with a variety of different side dishes too. Mari Flores
Tried this place Easter Sunday (no surcharge). We opted for the boneless beef ribs and the spicy pork, cooked over charcoal, with the option of plain gas as well. They also had a happy hour promotion going, 2 portions of meat and a drink for $30.
Food came out promptly with a delicious array of side dishes. Here the dishes were different to the common mung bean jelly & seaweed. Here they had more pickling and salad type dishes which was a nice change.
Everything was delicious, with the staff being friendly asking if we knew how to have kbbq. A nice place to visit with good prices.

I love the place. It looks different from other korean bbq house. We ordered 3 mains. We thought it wont be enough for us because the portion looks small. Then they served us alot of side dishes. It was actually more then enough for us. We felt soooo full and satisfied. Will definitely comeback for another hangout sessions with my friends.
Went here this Sunday in their happy hour (5:30 ~ 6:30) which you could get 2kind of pork bbq with soft drink for $30. It was a good experience, the place just so Korean. Staffs are friendly, they even grill the bbq for us, which was nice. Might be the best bbq place in city. But, I hope they have more variety of side dishes and I prefer if their bbq come with rice
Yummy Korean bbq place! Great for friends gatherings and some soju. They have this really nice rice box, even though it's quite simple it actually tastes really good! Tables could be a bit bigger though, we always order too much
OMG ITS SO NICE :3 such a cute, well decorated restaurant with "high tech" fancy bbq tube haha. The boss and waiter is so nice and enthusiastic, the waiter is really cute ;) had the spicy seafood and beef tripe hotpot. The side dishes are decent and mains are really nice, the flavour is spot on and waiter helps u with hotpot, it also comes with udon noodles :3 really nice place, so keen to come again for meat bbq!!!! Only food a tiny bit expensive but I guess it's worth it! :D
A new Korean BBQ restaurant, good deal with tasty pork, especially the pig neck meat. More than four dipping sources you could choose, free endless lecture provided for wrapping the meats. Happy Hour (two kinds pork+one soft drinking) is available Before 6:30 pm. Even though you miss the happy hour, free hot veggies soup can be another good choice. Definitely will pay more visit.
Went there tonight for dinner. I like their pork belly and beef ribs. Staff will cook for you as well. However, i dont really like their fried chicken, the coating is quite hard. Their staff are very friendly.
Delicious korean food!!! However, I like to enjoy my food without being watched over every 0.5 seconds -_- the soups are amazing! Awesome!!!
I love the atmosphere here ^.^ The food is a little pricey and I wish it was cheaper but all in all - I really do love this place; I come here almost every week. At times, more than once a week haha. The food quality is great and service is amazing. I love their lunch menu also :) Of the places I've been to so far, the food here is probably better and the side dishes are as well ^_^
Red Pig has a casual, funky atmosphere suited to young people, compared to other Korean bbq places. We got the earlybird special - they have 2 special combos if you order before 6.30pm which works out to be a little bit cheaper. We wanted more lettuce but felt bad asking for it! The food quality and taste is good, but the meat portions are quite small so need to order rice additionally. Will be back for sure.
It was my first proper Korean BBQ experience and I was not disappointed. Came here with 5 friends on a Friday night for dinner. We were seated to our table even though we were a bit early. Got the choice of the round tables of the square ones, and opted for the square ones on the side as they looked more comfortable.
The menu was quite basic but had everything we wanted. We ordered a few of the marinated meat plates and some YUMMY fried chicken (must try!). Before all the meat came out, our side dishes with salad etc all came out. Hard to keep track of everything being placed on our table as there were so many little dishes! Not sure what half of them were or how/what to eat them with, but I tried everything anyway.
We meat cooked quickly and probably disappeared into our mouths even faster. All in all, very fun experience and the food was great!
A tip from me would be, have a hair tie and don't wear a jumper you can't take off because it gets REALLY hot!!
We came here as a big group on a Friday night and lucky they had a table for us. Staff were really friendly and attentive. The food portion was quite small compared to other korean BBQ I have been to.
I love how they provide side dishes and their spicy salad is amazinggggg! You can also refill your side dishes for free which is a bonus. We loved their spicy salad so much we kept asking for refills!
The restaurant itself is nicely set up and it has a home feel to it since they provide round tables where people can sit around if which is better than the square ones.
I would come back again :)
OMG....First time ever to this place, so welcoming and we could choose where to sit. The inside was cool it had a homey kind of feel to it. The staff there was amazing, The food OMG was so nice and delish....My daughter and I had an awesome time dinning in. Even tho it started getting packed, the staff were always on their feet, they were so busy, but they never forgot about serving us and others as well. Their was this one waitress that was really awesome, she helped us with the side dishes and showed us how to use them, she was so helpful and explaining things was so clear to understand. I would like to give her a HIGH FIVE!!!!! :) sad tho she didn't have a name tag so we don't know her name so only thing I could say is she had braces :) she was wonderful so cheerful and out going. :). We would defiantly go back, hopefully soon. Thank you so much I really enjoyed everything about RED PIG!.
Just walking to uni and discovered this restaurant!
I must say, it was so nice being greeted so well that I was decided to dine here for lunch. I love a good personality! The staff are definitely amazing here!
There were two caucasian women who came in wanting dumplings and the staff had no problems making them feel welcomed and explained each dish in detail to them. 10/10!!
My food was good! Very filling, I always have such trouble deciding on the pork or squid sizzling plate so the fact that this place does it together! WIN! Haha.
Pork and squid well cooked and flavourful. The sides dishes are good, half way through my meal a staff member asked if I'd like refills and I was only really eating three of the five side dishes but I got refills for the ones I ate (so good! Normally you have to hassle other places for refills)
Very clean and tidy facility, I would gladly come back and recommend my friends here. 😁
I'll definitely be back to try Korean BBQ! Their facility is so clean and modern looking.
Fantastic restaurant with fantastic food. When we first received our order it didn't seem like a lot of meat, but the sides plus extra rice ordered was just right. We had ordered the fried chicken as well and this ended up being too much food. Very tasty, everything. Plus the service was excellent too, very attentive and pleasant staff. Highly recommended.
As a Korean I always welcome new Korean restaurants as there are only a few, and even fewer that I like. This place seems promising and it definitely reminds me of whats back home. It certainly brings back the feels.
The Ups:
1. Very friendly and fast service - happy to explain things and helpful even though they seem to be very busy, and they dont like to keep people waiting. E.g. We got some free drinks because the cold noodles we ordered were a bit clumped - we didnt even mention it, the staff noticed it soon after it was served and took it back.
2. The food is user friendly for customers who are new to the Korean cuisine. As a typical korean meat joint, you have to cook your own meat. Bear in mind that you would also be sharing side dishes and soups with your fellow diners at the table.
3. The food tastes good, much dependent on your own bbq skills, and the beef was marinated well. I think that the fun is in the dining experience itself; sitting around in a circle with your friends eating with your hands and having a few drinks.
The Downs:
1. If you are used to having a full-on korean bbq at home or if you are a major carnivore this place will cost you a fare bit of coin. I was holding back but if I ate like I usually do, it would cost 50-60+$ for myself.
2. Didnt like the bunch of people standing around outside the restaurant smoking - its a Korean thing but not a huge fan.
I was with 4 others, had 5x (portions) servings of beef and pork neck, few beers, rice wine and soju, cold noodles x3 to top it off, cost about ~$230.
Definitely would recommend to others; would be a cool place for meeting up with old and new friends as well as hosting after work drinks.
3+0.5 Yums
Always a go to every weekend. Service is so good, lovely manager Yeuna and staff are always happy to serve. Hats off to the kitchen staff as well. They serve the best bean soup and side dishes are the best. Highly recommended but then open only for dinner which starts at 5pm.
Authentically Korean BBQ, our group of 4 were not disappointed. Service was fantastic with the waitress being very patient with us while making our decision. Food came promptly and was super fresh, with the meat selection very tasty and succulent. We were checked on regularly to ensure we had all we needed without being intrusive. Overall we all loved this restaurant and will definitely be back.
We ordered half&half chicken today! It was really yum and crispy! I know red pig is bbq place but chicken is good too! Thanks red pig🐷 We had a lovely dinner✨

Best Korean bbq I’ve ever had loved the atmosphere and the food and the service definitely recommend!!!! Will be going back to Auckland just to have again!
Good atmosphere! Delicious food and side dishes. A bit pricey but worth it for the experience! Definitely get the pork belly and the corn. So yummy!
The price may be a little higher compared to other Korean BBQs, but the quality is also better. I prefer Red Pig rather than those ”all you can eat” restaurants, as quality always beats quantity. Friendly service, lovely food, a lot of side dishes 😊 We enjoyed our dinner a lot.
Delicious food, great for sharing with a few people. The only negative is it's difficult to seat groups larger than 5 or 6, and the prices are a tad steep. Still very good.
My partner and I came to Auckland for the weekend, and was recommended to go to Red Pig. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. Food was delicious, and staffs were so welcoming. We will definitely visit Red Pig again if we are back in Auckland! Thank you.
Really delicious and yummy Korean BBQ. Would definitely recommend
Delicious korean bbq. Slightly cramped. BBQ pork and steak is very good. Recommended for all.
Ordered korean marinated pork, spicy marinated pork, and charcoal soybean paste soup.
The ingredients for everything was really top quality, the meat was well prepared and marinated and once cooked was super tasty, chewy yet soft and delectable. The sides
were generous, we got a plate of kimchi, coleslaw, salad, radish x2, and rice. The chardol soybean paste soup was also really tasty, a small portion it seems but it is heavily packed with delicious tofu, veg and beef brisket. The mix of beef and soup was super tasty and paired deliciously with rice. The service was great, they were super helpful and helped us with a bit of cooking.
Overall the atmosphere was great, food was delicious, however I did feel it's slightly on the more expensive side for the portion of meat served. I haven’t had much kbbq experience so can’t compare too much. It was about two three palm sized pieces of meat per portion. Great authentic kbba
experience though! And this place will always be an interesting place of memory for me.
First time going to this restaurant. Quality of meat for bbq pretty good and place is good for small groups and sharing. Staff are polite and attentive. Prices are slightly higher than average but would still still come again to try more stuff we missed out on.
Solid place for korean BBQ. The portions are decent sized and tastes amazing. However, the seats are super uncomfortable and the price is a bit hefty.
