We decided to take our 2 kids (9 and 3) to get a tasty milkshake and snack on our way through Kingsland and my husband found this gorgeous and quirky little place. We had Oreo milkshakes (sooo good) the lamb sandwich and the veggi burger (which was just perfect). We unfortunately had to wait quite a while for our food to be delivered but the owner was very apologetic, explaining that the computer system had gone down and our order didn't get through to the kitchen. That aside, we would definitely return to try another flavour milkshake from their large and adventurous range of scrummy flavours.
Wow, what a lovely place to eat, menu choice is fab and food was delicious. I definitely recommend trying the milkshakes and desserts too! A hidden gem. Hopefully they will franchise out to other cities as they are on to a winner.
NUTELLA milkshake with a pulled chicken burger. Totally amazing. Food was good and generous in portion. I could only eat half the burger and had the other half later. Upstairs is setup in different rooms. Saw someone else having this pizza thing which looked amazing. Can't wait to go back and try some more food and shakes.
I've had about a dozen flavours of shakes now, good stuff. Bit of a destination joint. I recommend the Date Shake.
Never fails to deliver, owner is always on point checking to make sure everything is good plus it's all Halal. Great job guys
Loveeee this place! Since finding it we almost come here every week to try a new flavour milkshake! Great service, great people, great food!
Seriously 64 different shakes, and their burgers are huge. Awesome bang for buck.. One burger filled me up as it was and I can get thru a couple Mac attacks usually... Awesome place
Grill and shakes is my happy place! The owners of this amazing establishment often work on site and are the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. With 69 different milkshakes (plus other special shakes they do) and the most beautiful chargrilled meats imaginable there is something to suit everybody! The quality of the food here is wonderful with organically sourced products and sweets shipped from all over the world. This place is a must visit .... repeatedly!
Yummy food..love there food especially chicken grill its so delicious :)

Good Food, Friendly Hostess, Homely Ambience. A must visit to spice up the palette
Lovely service and fantastic flavour, I felt bad I couldn't finish the burger, it was so good, but bigger than I thought it would be :)
Grill and shakes has a lot of milkshakes option and tried several of them and they’re all really good; it’s worth the money! They also served it quick and oh friendly as well!
Went in for lunch on Friday and we were the only customers there, felt a bit strange considering how popular Kingsland is as an eatery.
The service was decent, the lady at FOH was attentive and the food came out in good time.
We ordered the Cheezeburger and Delux Veggie burger. Both tasted like a good old home-made burger with nothing over the top fancy, which we enjoyed.
We’ve heard of this place before but came to try it because of Zomato Gold, wouldn’t mind coming back again to try their shakes :)
The shakes are really good here. Tried the dairy milk one and it was awesome. Burger was alright but this place is all about the shakes! Recommend for a late night snack or light meal.
nice food, good place and kids area is so handy for parents, it’s upstairs and took a little while for finding the lifts which is on the other side, but overall nice experience
Love this place, especially now that they are open late! It's so awesome to have such a large range of shakes using every day snacks. Cool concept, cool delivery and cool service. Highly recommended. For a casual treat in Kingsland. And they got awesome burgers too. A truely unique institution and not an attempt at hipsterism.
Been here for shakes a few time. They have a good selection of different flavours and prices are pretty decent. The shakes are pretty big so they are quite filling too which is perfect when you just need a little pick me up or snack.
My favourite shake was the snickers one.
Good food and good price.
Ambience can be improved but still acceptable being in the city center
Parking is an issue so its better to use public transport. Just opposite to kingsland train station and bus stops. Handy location for public transport.
Didn't try shakes but they looked delicious.
Nice enough burgers and fast service. Had the gourmet chicken one and it was pretty tasty. Plenty of selection too which is nice to see. On the expensive side for burgers I thought though
We tried the Ferrero Rocher Milkshake. It was amazing, nice amount of hazelnut and really did taste like Ferrero Rocher! Nice amount of milk and ice, very refreshing and light. I would definitely return to Grill & Shakes to try their food and other milkshake flavours.
Quite a nice place tucked into Kingsland. There's nothing that special about this burger & shakes kind of place but these guys did a pretty good job of both the burger and shake. The chips were decent too. The shakes menu is extensive which was a plus.
Overall a good place to catch up, but nothing too fancy. Prices are also very reasonable.
the burgers and the milkshakes are amazing and yummy!! we had cheeseburgers and fries and a kitkat milkshake and it was great! would reccomend this place :) staff was friendly and it is also affordable and not too too expensive!
Fresh fruit shakes, best taste in Auckland.ample space to enjoy with family and freinds. Come and enjoy in weekdays and weekends. Burgers are mouth watering.
I've tried the fish burger & fries here. Simple burger- sauce, greens, tomato & fish strips-but tasty. Small portion of fries. Would recommend the m&m shake & the snickers shake with cream. So delish! My personal fave.
I've been here quite a few times now and I must say the shakes are so so good! They have such a wide selection of shake flavors that will definietly cater to most people, you wont be disappointed. The place itself is pretty cool and has an upstairs dining area with more seating. I only ever buy the shakes from here as the food is quite pricey.
Been here quite a few times now and both, the food and drinks are always amazing. Have tried more than half of the menu by this point and I've never been disappointed - favourites are the grilled chicken, lamb skewers, potato skins, and the Lindt creme brulee shake. Service is friendly and prompt. The place is basically a converted apartment with downstairs being the kitchen/till, and upstairs being the main seating areas with two rooms and bathroom.
Seriously one of the best vegan burgers around and the best kumra chips too :) The Oreo blitz is so delicious. Thank you for the vegan options.
Always has the best selection of shakes I am also a very big fan of their snacks selection. Highly recommend this place. A nice little place for a quick dessert
Always the best service, and I can never choose what milkshake or meal to choose from!! Burgers and flatbreads galore! Delicious! I also enjoy sitting in upstairs and people watch.
Really tasty, full of flavour burgers, the lamb was seriously spicy (I’m a wimp). The cheeseburger delicious (The New Yorker was impressed) crisp and tasty shoestring fries and the shakes are to die for. Nice staff too. Definitely going again.
Food was nice and milkshake was amazing. Service was pretty average. Would be nice to have some heaters upstairs as we sat and ate in the freezing cold.
You can't not love this place. The 69 shake flavours cant be missed, but the food is pretty spot on too. I've only had the pizza but I'd go back for it, if not for the ferrero rocher shake.
What better way to end a fried chicken session than to have some milkshakes? It is certainly a mission to maintain this corpulent body of mine, so it only makes the most rational and logical sense that milkshakes come after fried chicken. To be perfectly honest I found the store to be more appealing from the outside rather than the inside of the store, it just seemed like a bit of a chaotic mess in the store. Got me a hundred and thousands cookie milkshake and the significant other had Reese’s peanut butter and chocolate. Fairly quick execution in terms of getting the milkshakes to our hands only had to wait around 5 minutes which is fast.
Milkshakes were creamy and actually tasted of the ingredients that we ordered which I appreciate. In my opinion, the pricing is okay, I think 7$ would be more attractive considering its just milk, ice and cookies/chocolate bar.
Showstopper: As advertised and you get a wide selection of flavors
Overall Grade: B
Prime location if you get a spot upstairs by the window, great view during sunset. The food here is great, have come here on 2 seperate occasions, once for burgers and shakes. I had the lamb burger which housed some pretty delicious spices that I was not expecting. Only 4.5 stars though because its a bit of a gamble with whether the shake flavour you pick will taste great or crazy weird. Good spot for dessert if you’d rather munch on something instead of sip on a shake. Tried the brownie and the sticky date pudding. The pudding portion size in comparison to the brownie was tiny! But very (excuse the term) moist and tasty. The browny was the perfect soft type -not hard and crumbly. Has streaks of caramel through it which complimented the flavour perfectly. Will be back!
A cute lil cafe to go for a nice meal. I ordered a burger and fries and really enjoyed the meal. The decor of the place was nice and we sat upstairs and had a nice view of kingsland. However the place gelt a bit crammed and the service was somewhat slow. Would like to return and try their milkshakes.
Been here twice now.
Staff is great.
Got great seating upstairs with a little bell when you are ready to order.
First time (pics attached) I ordered the chocolate cake shake. Kind of disappointed because while delicious has no chocolate cake crumbs like it's US counterpart Portillo's does. UT the flavour of cake is 3vident but only just.
Also ordered the sergeant pepper flatbread. Heavily covered with meat and delicious but not satisfying considering its 15 bucks and for a dollar more you can get a very filling delicious pizza pie from Pakuranga Pizza. The flatbread was really small and obviously quite flat but the toppings did not suffice to make it worth the price as you would need to order 2 to feel semi full.
The second time I got the Nutella shake and that was just heavenly. Ticks all the boxes. And I got the cowboy which is like a quesadilla. Very nice and satisfying.
I think to truly enjoy this place you have to be prepared to spend at least 25 pp
Ordered at 11:55pm Friday on UberEats thinking there was no way it would come, but 30 mins later our dessert had arrived! Apple pie and brownies were both incredible, made our evening.
The shakes are above average, definitely not that heavy syrup-ey crap you get at the takeaway. The place is pretty small, the decor just seems all over the place, no theme, no coordination at all. It felt like the place needed a good clean, as a matter of fact I didn't order anything but the pecan pie because I was so put off at the overall presentation of the place, even the menus were worn & tattered! However it wasn't enough to stop me from getting my damn pie! FFS that caramel pecan pie?!?!?! There's something nostalgic about it with each bite you take, that comforting taste of home-baking fresh outta the oven; A gorgeous layer of sweet caramel filling decorated with chocolate kissed pecans all baked in a warm shortbread crust......DIVINE. Sure the shakes are great but it don’t mean nothing if I cant have my pecan pie on the side.
The food was really good here. We got a bunch of things and we enjoyed all of them: Lamb Koobideh was amazing, the Sergeant Pepper and Meatball flatbreads were spectacular, the Grilled Chicken was delicious and the shakes were to die for! Defs coming here again!

Such a large milkshake menu, spent so long trying to decide on what to pick lol. For the price, defs worth it. However, the staff wasn't so friendly and rushed to take our orders then ran to the back. We dined in and it was hardly comfortable to dine upstairs. Would only go back to takeaway. Defs recommend this place to anyone with a sweet tooth though.
This restaurant has such an extensive range and variety of milkshakes I spent so long deciding on which one. The milkshakes themselves aren't too creamy or heavy- which I like. They tasted great and weren't overly sweet.
They have an extensive shake menu. The most difficult part is deciding what flavour shake you want after looking at the menu for a good 20 minutes.
Opted for the Malteser shake. The shake was very simple in presentation. Just the shake in a mason jar with whipped cream and a bit of sauce. Flavour was ok, not too sweet.
I have been in this place so many times .
We had red Lamborghini and cheese Berger with potato staf with mushroom and cheese and garlic bread.
My mergers were pretty tasty and spicy enught.
I loved my potatoes. It was crispy, tasty and big enught for me.
Customer service were pretty good and on point.
They have second floor for eat there too.
I would defently come back here .
Must recommend
If you are planning to come here then make sure you come with an appetite. The burgers are massive and really good value. The New Yorker is my favorite. The pickles mingled with the relish and the good amount of cheese are amazing. Tried their new Oreo cheesecake and that was good too. The milkshakes are made with real ingredients so you actually get bits of what you choose in the shake. I have tried a few of them but they got over 60! The caramel walnut brownie, salted caramel and chocolate caramel are my top picks. I ♡ caramel LOL. Seating is upstairs and comfy. Great service and friendly staff. If only they delivered to South Auckland.
The best thick shake I've had in NZ and the closest comparable to Shake Shack in the States.
We went as a large group and they were incredibly accommodating with upstairs seating.
The Chicken Burger was superb with the right amount of spice for a shake to tone down. The portion sizes for the sides were smaller than anticipated, but overall a really great dining experience.
I came here with a group of friends. The actual drinks were beautiful. However they were a little too sweet for my personal taste. The store is nice and clean, and staff was kind. Would recommend to anyone who has a sweet tooth.
We ordered the famous reeses peanut butter and snickers shakes. All of their shakes are $7.90. I liked the shakes because the taste aren't overwhelming! And was quite smoothe. Definitely one of the best shakes in auckland! I recommend this place to everyone
We just need a quick bite after the Waterview tunnel walk. The place is a two storey set-up with seating upstairs. The Kumara chips and the chicken popcorn that wifey ordered were served in a plastic basket while my lamb over flatbread was on a stainless plate. The food is average for me but the shakes are really rich and yummy.
Shaaaaaaaakes we're the bomb. Definitely would recommend to friends and family. Would come back again to try different flavours of the shakes. Cute place too, staff were also friendly and kind.
milkshakes are tooooo good!! soo many different flavours and options and they don't disappoint, foods pretty average was nice, but the highlight definitely was the milkshakes!
Yummy shakes, burgers were above average, but not fantastic. Service was friendly, but the interior was a bit scummy (as in a bit cheap and worn, not as in dirty). Not sure I'll be back, but worth a try.
Grill and shakes are well known for their wide selection of milkshake flavours. The milkshakes here are incredibly good, in fact the best I've ever had.
I've tried their Reeses, snickers, carrot cake, ferrero rocher and nutella. The Reeses and snickers are by far my faves
The carrot cake here is rated the best but I beg to differ. I didn't taste any wow factor.
I'll defs be back to satisfy my sweet tooth cravings
The milkshakes and desserts are amazing ! I have ate here a few times and never once had a bad experience, it's a great spot will definitely be ordering and trying more if their menu 😊
As it was my turn to mind some youngsters during school hols i treated them here 4 some shakes, this place has shakes made out of common kiwi icon snacks such as shrewsberry, tim tam, hoky poky etc. i had the choco cookie shake (see pic). Their shakes aren't as deadly as the killa shakes seen at cereal killa cafe too.
They also do burgers and grills too in which i may like to try next time, place is pretty basic and tight and has the best site in downtown kingsland. Upon paying i was tempted to sneak out and leave the kids there..
Popcorn shrimp ,mozzarella sticks and chicken pesto flat bread is what is always order when we go to grill and shakes it's a easy meal to grab and go, the worker there are friendly and service is good, in summer because of the small space gets a bit hot when full but overall a chill place to hangout and chat with friends over a good meal. All the shakes are great to try out when your just passing by.
UBER EATS REVIEW
So today being Monday (I hate Mondays), had a loooong day at work and didn't want to dine out or cook....just eat and be garfield for the night. I gave this uber eats a shot for the frist time. My findings:
THE FOOD
Overall....yum....although price is steep.
Sergent Pepper (3/5) - I loved this one but my partner felt it had too much salami and 15.00 was def over priced.....thats like 3 pepperoni pizzas from dominos. I actually think if they reduced the pepperoni and incrased the cheese it could be on point.
The New Yorker (4.5/5) - Now this was a burger that was no joke....loved the generous amount of sauce with just the right ratio of relish to mayo. The cheese was really good. The spices in the patty were really good too. Being delivered i can only imagine what it would be like fresh from the kitchen.
Naturalcut shoestring fries (3.5/5) - Meh its fries, it was as good as fries being delivered can get.
Popcorn Shrimp (3.5/5) - I really wanted to rate this high because it was good...really good...but $8 good? I reakon it was $7 good.
WAS IT WORTH IT?
If for the burger yip otherwise maybe as a one off.
Best new Yorkan American style burger and milkshake I ever had in Auckland guys you better try this place out for 11$ burger 5$ milkshake it's a bargain and taste and looks and smells dilich ................................
Best new Yorkan American style burger and milkshake I ever had in Auckland guys you better try this place out ................................
Average food but great milkshakes!
We ordered the meatball and chicken Pesto flatbread. It comes out basically like a pizza, but because it's flat bread, when you pick it up it's floppy and not crispy. The flavours were so bland, the meatball pizza had a lot of un-seasoned, plain spinach on it which wasn't enjoyable. The chicken pesto was ok but a very dry pizza with no sauce. I wouldn't recommend the flat breads, you can make yummier pizzas at home..
The chocolate mud cake milkshake however was really good, they use actual chocolate mud cake which is blended into it! I also once got the chocolate brownie with ice cream and it was a big portion. The ice cream is very different, it's home made and has a completely different taste and texture to store bought ice cream. It's not as creamy, rich and sweet, as they use organic products, it's amazing though i prefer the taste to store bought ice cream!
Open for only 3 months and it's already the talk of Kingsland' they've got a whole bunch of likes on Facebook to prove it. HUSK adventured to Grill & Shakes and within a few minutes, we totally understood why. The two-story building features an eclectic mix of styles - glowing signs and window chalk, neon cups, button-yellow walls and cobalt blue window shutters above the fireplace (!) Their shake menu is just as eventful with 69 different flavours, many of which are made with scrummy chocolate bars, moreish biscuits and even smashed up cakes and slices? You gotta see the menu to believe it'.but all 6 of us went gaga with the first sip. They do a very comprehensive selection of grilled skewers and flatbreads with a seemingly Ethiopian-Turkish flavour. The mozzarella dippers (get a few to share) went straight from our lips to our hips but we didn't care ' actually, get us another one.

Such lovely staff, I was a bit anxious walking in with a group of friends that I would only be able to eat chips (being vegan). However I was pleasantly surprised that they do vegan shakes with the option of either soy or almond with homemade coconut ice-cream). I got a mango shake and boy it was out of this world. Also tried their normal chips and kumara chips which were both enjoyable. Also nice set up - perfect for a group of friends to go and chill or even to do homework as there are plenty of rooms and tables to sit in. Would recommend to everyone as they cater for all !!
This place never ceases to amaze with its burgers. Large portions with succulent tender patties is enough to satisfy those late and spur of the moment burger cravings. The price is cheap for a burger which i can only eat a maximum of 3/4. The only pricing I consider a bit steep is for the shakes. However, it's definately worth it for the wacky flavours this place has to offer and their top quality service. Definately one of the best joints auckland has to offer especially as a date night location
If you're looking for a satisfying shake, this is the place to go. Personally I'm a not fan of the food but the shakes never disappoint. Staff are super friendly, even willing to whip up a shake 5 minutes to closing!
Been here a few times and their burgers will keep me coming back. Very well made and good value for what you get. The shakes are decent but nothing out of the ordinary. Would not recommend the mozzarella sticks, they are just sticks of mozzarella fried in a spring roll wrapper.

A burger & shake is a match made in heaven, especially when they taste this good!
Love the shakes & there is most definitely a flavour for everyone. Their burgers are amazing (especially the beef) & such a funky cafe.
Will be back of course with so many shake flavours that's a given!
You CANNOT go wrong with the amount of flavours they have. Delicious and worth the drive! The price is affordable and the staff are always extremely patient when it comes to making up your mind on what flavour you'd like to try.
One of the tastiest shakes I have had! They use real ingredients and no syrups so the shakes are not too sickly sweet! 69 flavours as well. The only problem is trying to decide what shake to have.
We ordered three shakes. Kit-Kat, Oreo & pineapple lumps..
The pineapple lump shake was a clear winner it was so delicious 😍😍
Burgers are also very tasty and huge. Well worth the $11. Haven't tried any thing else off the food menu so would love to come back to try something else!
Favourite place! Been here a handful of times and I think I love their food more than I love their shakes. Their whole chicken for $20 is honestly the best thing, so tender and spicy. Their lamb flat bread is also so good along with the chicken skewers ah just everything is good!
In love with this place! Went on a weekday night so nice and quiet. We ordered a carrot cake shake, loaded potatoes with mushroom and a chicken/presto flatbread plus a lamb flatbread. Amazing! Food was great with lots of flavour and good serving size. Shake was exactly what it was meant to be and the service was quick and friendly. Can't wait to try the other shake flavours!!
I love this place! The variety of shakes! The ambiance amd everything about this.... Id like to say for myself i found the m&m one very delicious,
Not all that it is hyped up to be , to be honest. The food was okay. Not exceptional. Really mean milkshake though, would totally be back just for that.
Finally dropped in this place and tried their shakes. Like the majority of the reviews, the shakes are the best thing ever!!. My niece and I decided to try the Ferrero Rocher and Reese's peanut butter cup shakes. Its like you're eating the real deal but with whipped cream on top! The gentleman was very nice and whipped up our shakes in minutes which was a plus as we were in a hurry. Definitely will be back to try the rest of the shakes menu as well as their burgers.
P.S. I wouldn't recommend on having 2 shakes at one time because its very sweet but not the kind of sweet that makes you hurl :)
Nutella milkshake is good ! I was half expecting it to be quite rich and overly sweet but it was neither. Good mild flavour while still tasting like ur classic milkshake. Topped with whipped cream .. yummo ! Reese's peanut butter.cups was also pretty good ! Will be going back to try one of their other 80 flavours 😊.
Was craving for something sweet and a friend decided to bring me here after a long day of classes. Didnt regret it one bit!
The shakes may look plain with a little bit of whip cream but dont let that deceive you,
Would rate the carrot cake shake 4.5 with no complaints and 4 for the oreo.
Also had the cookie surprise which could be shared between two people.
Would definitely come back again to try their food
If you want a shake, you go to Grill and Shakes. It's in the name - literally. I asked whether they've been taken up on every flavour offering, and they indeed confirmed that they have.
But do yourself a favour, if you go with your partner, get one and share? They're massive and really filling and quite sweet. One between two would be more than enough. Otherwise perhaps you can skip dinner?
They have a cool upstairs area as well, so head up and enjoy the outlook.
One of the best spots for shakes in Auckland hands-down.
Out of the 69 flavours available I've only had 7, so quite a fair bit left to go before I'm done!
Highly recommended here is the Modern Greek Flatbread for food and for drinks: The Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and the Call Me Ginger Slice milk shake.
The lady who served us was a bit absent but the food here is really nice. Yummy shakes they are worth a try. Went with two other friends and we didn't have to wait long for our order. We will definitely be returning
Got chance to try their shakes after seeing so many good reviews. Tried their carot cake shakes....awesome...yumm totally. Been there again to try flatbread and sandwich...omg... truly amazing taste. Totally different flavor.
Amazing milkshakes (we had the choc & caramel slice flavours). Owners were lovely and helpful. We can't wait to try some more flavours next time.
Wow the grilled chicken here is so delicious. We tried the aji verde spicy one takeaway not expecting much at all but the sauces were so tasty! Good sized serving and good service, we'll definitely be back and will have to try the milkshakes too. It looks like more of a takeaway place though.
The milkshakes are amazing!!!!! One of my life's great loves!!!!
The place itself I find a bit weird. Like it's set up in separate rooms and the smaller room has two tables and it gets awkward with such a small number of people.
The first time I came here I had the potato skins and my sister had chicken and pesto flat bread - both dishes tasted the same! I.e. Tasted like there was pesto in the potato skins when there shouldn't have been.
Second time ordered the garlic bread, waitress asked me if I wanted mozzarella on it and I said no; the modern Greek flatbread and the lamb Kat a Kat and a couple of milkshakes.
The waitress brought us mozzarella dippers and tried to convince me I ordered mozzarella dippers. Like no, I love garlic bread and get it everywhere and DID NOT order the mozzarella dippers. She brought them around twice trying to convince us by which point I was super hungry and just said yes to the dippers - they were spring roll sheets with mozzarella inside. Didn't really like it. And not impressed that she couldn't accept her mistake.
The modern Greek was delicious though!!! That lamb was sooooo tender.
And the milkshakes are always amazing!!
Standout when it comes to kebabs n shakes..the shakes are awesome especially the way it's served with whipped cream and they got lots of flavours to choose from, very reasonable prices for food
First time going here. The shakes are amazing!!! Very rich in flavor but AH-MA-ZING!!! Also tried the cowboy from 'meat the bread' list and it was very different and tastey. Had a chicken and pesto also from the 'Meat on top' list. Was my first time here but definitely not the last. I would love to try the other shakes.
Tried the place as recommended by a friend. Loved the mango shake and my partner loved her cream and chocolate shake. Friendly service with a smile!!!Fairy-Anne Glenn Guiang
There's a lot of hype surrounding this small establishment and I can see why! Who doesn't love a menu with over 60 flavours of milkshakes? 🍼🍫🍭. I think the appeal of this place definitely comes from the drinks menu and not the food. I sadly have to say that the food is sublimely 'average' I couldn't do better myself but I could certainly make it at home - which isn't what you want to feel when you're eating out! The milkshakes are gorgeous though, there's clearly a lot of care put into each one and the flavour combinations. I'd say come here for a drink and skip the meal 🍪
One of our fave date spots. Boyf and I have been here on many occasions. They have what feels like a million different flavored shakes to chose from and part of the fun is deciding to stick with a fav or try something new. Behind there counter is basically a dairy fillers with every choc or lolly you can imagine and they blend those up into shakes. They are a nice texture with our being too thick or too milky and are filled with bits of your chosen flavour. Have eaten here also and the food is tasty. The burgers are good as are the filled potato skins. They do a flat bread which is like a thin pizza and always had a generous amount of toppings. can get quite busy at peak times but staff always friendly and accommodating as possible. Nice if you can get a seat upstairs looking over the main road. Today's selection was snickers for him and pineapple lumps for me, which mite just be my new fav
These guys make milkshakes from literally anything. Their shakes menu is made up of 69 flavours ranging in everything from lollies to cakes and desserts - two thumbs up for the M&M shake!
Why an M&M shake ends up being pink, will remain one of life's great questions.
Great flavor! The burgers and charcoal chicken was delicious and imma be a repeat customer for sure. The ladies working were lovely and wiped down the counter in the front for me since I had a stroller and couldn't go upstairs with it to the other dining area. Hopefully the flavor burst ice cream machine will be repaired because I really want to try it.
Great food, good shakes. The milkshakes were not quite what I was expecting, not as thick and full of chunks as I'm used to. But still delicious and filling. My husband got a lamb burger and it had some unique seasoning to it, very good and cooked well. He also enjoyed his shoestring fries. I got a Greek lamb flat bread, it was also very tasty, but a little messy to eat. I also got the kumara chips, very much like sweet potato fries and very good. I couldn't figure out what was in the dipping sauce, but I liked it. We went for an early dinner on a weeknight and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Place was clean and pleasantly decorated. Highly recommend, but next time I would share a shake, a bit overpriced in my opinion.
Love their variety of chocolate bar shakes. Their burgers and fries are delicious. Consistent quality. Visit once a month and they often have new and interesting shakes to try. I recommend to everyone that loves a good shake or burger to go here. My only negative is the decor and tables... They could "shake" things up here 😉
Went here earlier in the year, amazing food. I had the spicy lamb and my partner had the vegetarian burger and both loved it. I had the Snickers shake and my partner had the Turkish Delight which were amazing. All up cost us just over $50 which isn't bad. I highly recommend and will be back in the future.
The food was great! Best milk shake I've had for a long time. The owner of the business made us feel comfortable the moment we arrived with the options available.
I could have given 5 stars if the waitress was more enthusiastic in serving their customer.
Will definitely recommend this place👍
Nice food but ventilation or setup not for setting a mood if you know what i mean. Upstairs seating is basic and its hot up there on a summers day. Shakes are great in variety and quality... overall worth the effort
Well known for their awesome freak shakes! Super delicious if you are wanting a sweet treat milkshake. Havent tried the food yet on the menu but will definitely have to next time i visit
All of the food we have tried (burgers, flatbreads, skewers) has been tasty and fresh and made with real ingredients, not super processed. But the milkshakes are worth a visit alone, they are simple but so good and there's a huge variety. Try the gingernut milkshake, it will change your life (you're welcome).
The food and the shakes are absolutely amazing and is definitely work a visit just for that. I had a bounty shake which was delicious and true to it's origins (the bounty candy bar), the popcorn shrimp (for which the batter could have been spiced better but with the sweet chilli sauce it was a great snack) and the potato skins with mushrooms (these were DIVINE). The service was wonderfully friendly in classic kiwi style. Only reason to lose one star is because the furniture is becoming used and is in need of an upgrade (theoretically should lose only half a star for this but google doesn't allow that).
It's what's on the inside that counts - and these shakes unreal flavours are exactly as good as you hope! They don't look anything flashy, nor perhaps is the enthusiasm behind the counter matching of the quality of milkshake, but don't be fooled. Well worth getting a snickers shake!
Amazing taste! I never found such kind of taste in other restaurant in Auckland. Usually I ordered in Charcoal chicken and topped flatbread. It is my favorite food. They make it specially. I am a great fan of this restaurant. I just request to everyone to taste their food items and also highly recommend them to all.
My experience with Grill and Shakes has always been amazing but last night they did something that "forced" me to come here and write this review. I mentioned that it was for my partner's Bday and asked for a candle while ordering on Uber Eats - I didn't think much of it and to be honest I thought they wouldn't bother however to my surprise they not only sent the candle but also a delicious cupcake inside a beautiful box! The cutest thing and she was so happy! Thank you guys!
Went there by seeing their Mystery shakes offer on Zomato, but was rewarded well. One of the rare instances in Auckland where Zomato proved to be actually useful. The shakes were really nice even though we didnt choose the flavors but rather picked them up randomly from a box. For $5, they were a steal. We got M&M caramel & a chocolate flavor both of which were nice and really thick shakes.
Really really yummy food.
Was looking for halal charcoal chicken in australia, but found it here, and it was to die for. Succulent juicy perfectly marinaded.
The north african skewer too was out of this world. So was the soft like a cloud flat bread.
And the salad! Oh my goodness. I,d love to sneak a peek at their dressing recipe.
The fig shake was great too, but the food is,what I would want to fly back to Auckland for!
I love this place. Always make a visit here either pre or post match day at Eden Park. You'll be spoilt for choice with the shake menu. They've also started a new menu for protein shakes. The food menu is really good too! Good selection of flatbreads, burgers.
