The food here is on point. Best chicken burger I've had in a long ass time
Stopped in for a pint and a bite Friday Dec 16/16. Food was fresh and extremely tasty. Pate, fish and chips and the mussels were fantastic. Friendly staff!!
Thanks
Never been here before. Nice place, very friendly and real good service........food was awesome especially the burgers......
Great selection of craft ale - cheerful helpful knowledgeable staff! I will be back 👍🏻
Great food Great service! What a fun place to eat a meal
Had the pleasure of dining here about a week after it opened. The food was excellent. Simple but delicious well matched to the wine. Staff were friendly and attentive. Thanks for a great meal!!
Best Fish and chips I have had in Auckland, great service too.
Brought my daughter up to Auckland for Nick Cave concert. Stopped in for a pre-concert pint and stayed for dinner. Great service, food was lovely. Just what we needed. Thank you very much. A new pre-concert tradition is born!
We enjoyed the build your platter with a drink. The food was fresh and tasty and there was a generous serving on the board. The only downside was the lack of choice for non-alcoholic drinks.
We went here on the last day of the year. A bit packed but waiting time wasn’t too long. Friendly service. We ordered the platter and duck salad. 10 choices for a big platter was quite a good choice. The pork rib was awesome! However, the duck salad was a big disappointment. We barely saw any duck, plus it was tasteless.
Good pub food but was one of the best pub food restaurants 5+ years ago when it hummed as Queens Ferry, it was hard to get a table at lunch time back then. All beef and lamb based dishes are still on point and a good bet...
We were in the mid city for a meeting the other day and decided to lunch at The Lobby which is housed in the old Queens Ferry building. We were warmly greeted and seated outside in Vulcan Lane. We ordered a Saw Mill Pilsner and Pale Ale, the Nachos and a side of fries to share. The beers were both complex in different ways and refreshing. The Nachos had pulled beef, tomatoes, refried beans, jalapeños and sour cream on a heap of corn chips - the serving was deliciously tasty and enormous! The Nachos are advertised as for 2 to share, but this quantity could be easily shared by 3 or more - certainly too much for us two and we ended up taking home a 'doggy bag'. The fries were also very good, light and crispy. This is a very good venue to share a craft beer and good value food.
Stopped by for dinner and drinks.
The first thing I noticed was the myriad of plants hanging from the ceiling. The restaurant was quite bright so it was quite nice.
Tried the crispy duck burger since I was intrigued with it. The burger was nice but it wasn't crispy. Nice amount of shredded duck but I thought a bit more slaw would've been nice.
Overall it was quite a nice place and the menu did have a few things to choose from. The service was really good.
Where To Next Auckland
+4
The Lobby is a cool little bar in the heart of Vulcan Lane. Great atmosphere, an awesome and varied selection of food.. that's always great! The staff are incredibly friendly and always welcoming! Perfect place to grab a bite to eat and a glass of wine while you're in town! Our pick? Try their meatball sub!! They make it with Garlic Bread.... genius!!!
Great atmosphere here. The nachoes are the best in town. Made from pulled meat over the usual of mince!! They had a nice kick too. Paul had the pasta and cleaned the plate. The waiter was great and very patient with us as we took a while to order. Everything came out quickly and all together so we shared some lovely dishes, will be returning soon I hope!
Into the Queen St precinct for dinner after wandering around wet and cool Auckland. Vego options weren't jumping out at us as we walked towards the harbour.
We looked up Vulcan Lane and found The Lobby in the throes of closing up. The kitchen was still going so the limited Vego menu was perused. We settled on a shared Pumpkin Risotto and Cheesy Garlic bread.
In no time at all the food arrived. Great portion size and really tasty. Just the thing after a full day wandering around.
Friendly service, location, ambience and price world's well. Definitely worth a look if you're in that part of the world.
The ambience was great. Very lively, yet chilled and relaxed for good conversation. We were served by the nicest staff and they were very patient as they talked us through the menu. I tried the shrubs for the first time and i was plesantly surprised. My friend ordered the tuna which she loved and I got the chicken with Thai influences. We were both really happy with the food, the portion sizes and the presentation was top notch.
Would definitely go back to this place!
Food was really nice (self claimed best fish n chips in Auckland). 25 dollars for a sirloin steak was a bargain. Went on a Thursday night and seemed a little understaffed. Would visit again for the food.
Good service, cold beer and tasty fish and chips!
Yep, it’s a bit touristy, but with a decent happy hour and good selection of drinks, it’s a good stop while on Vulcan / in CBD. The fish and chips were fresh and not overly breaded. We got the mix between normal chips and sweet potato chips, and that was a nice addition! Grab a seat outside and enjoy!
The bar platter is divine! You get to pick 10 out of about 15 options for only $55. It’s such an amazing price for some amazing quality food. We cleaned up the plate with ease and fought for every item. Delicious and very high quality.
The food was good and quite affordable. They don't have that much options when it comes to food but they have ample selection of beers, wine and liquors. This isn't really a place to just go and eat but it's a perfect place to hang out have a drink and just chill.
Historical pub. Decent pub food and good range of tap beers. Reasonable price.
Nice cozy place with good food. Very friendly staff. The ribs were tender a.d juicy.
Lamb rack is very delicious, juicy and well seasoned. But a little small portion for the price, NZD 33.
The Salmon was great, as was the service. The price was reasonable too 👍
One word describes this team, and that amazing. It sounds crazy but there are lot of chefs out there who struggle to cook a steak as requested.
This amazing team not only cooked it right but smashed it out of the park, It was so good I had another for desert. they had a spicy shrimp topping which I thought may not go well, but this was awesome.
I've had steaks all over the world and here at home and this was by far the best, leaving for dead places like the sky city, I highly recommend.
Great place too relax and have great beer and nice light meal
Good music..good beer selection and food.
Awesome layout, good booths for those small to medium sized groups.
Heaps of good beer and wine.
Cool decor too would definitely recommend if you are in the area 🙂
Awesome food! Great presentation and great service.
Excellent service, great atmosphere and yummy food - what more can you ask for? Phil went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable time, despite being busy behind the bar. Thank you ☺
Nice atmosphere and not too noisy. Good choice of beers. We couldn't stay to eat but the food looked good.
Good vibes. Brilliant music (60’s to 90’s). Good drinks on tap and huge platter for large groups. Super friendly staff
Great location. Really good quick/reasonably priced lunch option. Nice outside area in the front if a sunny day
Good atmosphere and very good fish and chips. Surprised with poutini fries. A must eat if you are hungry.
