We are so lucky to have such a fantastic local cafe. All the cabinet food is delicious especially the date scones and the caramel slice. The menu food is great, with the food being just that little bit more special then your normal cafe fare. I have never been disappointed with Scout and think it's one of the best, if not the best cafe on the Shore!

We went for brunch and were blown away by the food and service! Loads of interesting choices on the menu which was also well presented! Didn't get to try any of the amazing sweets but we will be back! The staff were so friendly and nice, and great atmosphere! Feel so grateful to have such a place down the road from where we live!
Delicious, balanced and well thought out dishes. The cabinet food is scrumptious and highly recommend the raspberry jam donuts. The staff are friendly, welcoming and have a sense of humour. Definitely worthy of their Top 10 Cafe award by Metro magazine.

Great place with wonderful service. Everyone is so friendly and knowledgable. Tried the golden latte with tumeric for the first time and just loved it. My husband had the French toast which was amazingly good!
The owner even came over to see how we found everything. Love this place and about time Torbay had a quality cafe!

Great addition to Torbay and long overdue. Quality food, great staff and a lovely fit out. This place is likely to always be busy so expect a bit of a wait - it is well worth it!! As they say never go to a quiet cafe - there's a reason it's quiet. So pleased to have a cafe this good in the neighborhood.
Excellent service - they take your order at your table & offer sparkling water! They are friendly, helpful & polite. Deliscious Gluten free blueberry cheesecake & great coffee. I will be visiting more often & highly recommend them.

A very chic, fresh eatery on the North Shore, Scout seems to tick all the boxes. The interior is invitingly decked out in contemporary pastel shades and light wood with a sprinkling of greenery throughout. And one cannot ignore the startling number of pretty pink accents from the menus to the table vases.
The menu is a cafe-hopper’s delight, classics aplenty along with signature twists to invite exploration, to say nothing to say nothing of the tempting treats in the cabinet which were demolished by the Saturday lunch crowd in the time we dined. My two companions enjoyed brunch from the kitchen while I had a chicken bagel. Their breakfasts were stunningly presented, although a request for no hollandaise seemed to have been forgotten. The bagel was generously filled and just right for the morning.
Service was friendly, but not as efficient as it could have been. A lengthy wait for our coffees and we witnessed the waitress having a chat while our drinks stood getting colder. Our second round of drinks we had better luck with. Coffee definitely good enough to enjoy seconds. I tried a matcha latte. Very on-trend and made with coconut milk, a little sweet for my own taste but worth a try.
I ventured in for a second visit on the morning of my departure just as they were opening. Again, a lack of efficiency in service but the salmon bruschetta was absolutely stunning. If the youthful staff just recieved a touch more training in service, this would be a 5/5 destination for sure.
Great food, great service. There’s a coffee loyalty scheme so get your card stamped and leave it there so you don’t forget next time ;)
Delicious breakfast! We had the Big breakfast and the French toast, can recommend both! The coffee was nice :)
Suggestions:
- The big breakfast could do with a relish or sauce or something.
- The sweet french toast could be cut by some acidity like a berry compote, it's sooo sweet (but delicious!)
- Stabilize the round outside tables, they keep tipping side to side

Our first visit to Torbay so we decided to grab a little lunch. We ordered the Karaage chicken with salad and the Scout breakfast.
The Karaage chicken dish was huge and I didn’t manage to finish it all. The pickles in the salad were delicious.
The Scout breakfast was a hit with my partner especially the savoury waffle (never saw that before)

Duck fat roast potatoes? sausage? Gravy? And an egg!?! How did all my favourite foods end up in one breakfast dish?? I have no idea - but it was divine... My breakfast companions were barely a quarter of the way through their (equally delicious) meals when I had wolfed down the entire thing. Service was very prompt once we got sorted (bit of confusion as to whether there was table service or counter ordering) and the coffees were just as good as anything we get at home in central city.
