Hot Chocolate is what I'm about. Came here early in the morning one time before I headed off to work nothing like a quick fix does the trick. It wasn't as hot and it wasn't warm either, just the way I like it.
Service was really friendly and kind, there' nothing much I can say but to put on the smile of satisfaction.
But on the other hand, the dining space is quite compacted, I can imagine it might look a little difficult to get around when there re a lot of people around. Lucky I went early in the morning.
Located on College Hill Road this place is wicked for a lazy saturday breakfast. We both had the eggs benedict and bacon on foccacia. The staff were friendly and the flat white I had was awesome. There so many cakes and such available to try on the counter. This place could easily bankrupt you. It is a tad pricey but it's expected in the area so you know what you're getting into!
Quite a nice place, me and my friend went there for a breakfast. The location and the interior of the caffe are nice, sunny outside area with big umbrellas, quite spacious inside area and a small area like a balcony, but with the walls and open top, like this! First to note about service, the stuff brought a bottle of water, but didn't fill the glasses. We ordered eggs Benedict with bacon, it was kind of average. And to my mind, there is a lack of stuff, we waited for some time before ordering and before paying as well. The rate is 4.
A wonderful, friendly, affordable cafe in trendy Freeman's Bay where the coffee is great and always served with a smile.
Their breakfasts are simple, but tasty. Great value and lovely staff!
Marcello's Caffee is nice little cafe, we had creamy mushroom and savory muffin with latte and iced coffee. Definitely a great place to enjoy your weekend brunch!
Lovely place to have breakfast and start your day. You ll be greeted friendly and looked after for sure. Staff is cheerful and efficient. Food is delicious, coffee is good too but can take some time to come depends on how busy they are. They do change their menu every season which is good.
Amazing coffee and awesome staff! Going to really miss being across the road from this nice little coffee shop as our office is moving away. Always friendly and such a great location to have business meetings while sipping on delicious coffee! Whoever locates into this building are lucky to be across the road from this cute little gem.
Marcello's is an awesome cafe with the lot - free wifi, free street parking and great coffee, food and service. A friendly crew that always welcomes you and knows your usual and get it right. Always on form.
Overall had a lovely experience coming to marcello's for breakfast. The owner was super friendly, very cheerful and full of energy. Service was excellent, from greeting us, to taking our orders, time to get our food etc. The place was very cosy as well, part of an apartment block, making it quite private. There's an outdoor seating area, and it was good to get some morning fresh air. We started with coffee and I got to say that the coffee is of quality. I wasn't too hungry so I got the eggs benny to eat. Portion wise was good for me at the time. Taste wise was good but my only critique for it is how the salmon was done. The texture was neither raw nor cooked. Nevertheless, I would still come back again.

Amazing place, I'll be back time and time again. We just popped in for a coffee, it was so inviting and the coffee so good we didn't want to leave so we stayed and ordered food. The service is fantastic, so warm and welcoming, I felt like a regular the first time I walked in. The best coffee in town. Thank you Marcello!!
I was invited to a brunch at Marcello's a couple of years back and it has grown on me ever since. The friendly Marcello treats everyone the same and builds a relationship with ever customer given the opportunity, which is great - I walk in and he and the team know my coffee, my meal pending the time of the day.
The food and coffee is impeccable as is the service, well worth moving out of the CBD cafes for a relaxed enjoyable experience.
We thoroughly enjoy our visits to Marcello's, from the warm and wonderful personality of the man himself, and his lovely husband, as well as the friendly and efficient staff, to the wide range of food, always well prepared and served, at most reasonable prices. An excellent venue for all occasions.
Marcello's is the place to go when you want first-rate service - he and his staff have perfected the art of being professional yet familiar.
Marcello understands great food and coffee are standard expectations. The Extras - treating each customer as an individual and adjusting to their needs, whether a business lunch or a weekend wind-down.
If I said any more, it would sound like flirting. But alas, he's very happily married... and his husband is gorgeous.

Food was at Marcello's was very good. Staff were excellent, and they really set the tone for a super-enjoyable family meal out during Labour weekend. Particularly great was our waitress, who had real personality, and engaged with our 5 year old, offering her a big set of marine animal toys to play with. This kept said daughter happily playing for about 45 minutes once she'd finished her pizza & chips, which left us two to enjoy our own meals - it was almost like a date night out!
Food was tasty - I had a vegetarian pizza, with loads of balck olives added. For my liking, I wanted more herbs - so I asked for a little bowl of basil leaves, which was supplied complimentary ;) Hubby's lamb shanks were apparently fabulous (they looked very tasty on top of a garlic-mash with carrots, and other yum looking veg).
We each got a complimentary dessert, as we'd come after seeing an offer on this site. Utterly delicious. I chose the chocolate cake, with berries and vanilla-bean icecream. Yummo!
One other bonus was the extremely easy parking, right outside the front door here - because being on College Hill, there are not really any other eateries in this stretch, so plenty of free parking.
I got bought an online discount voucher for this place, so wasn't expecting that much. But, wow! My girlfriend and I really enjoyed it! The food, service, music, and atmosphere :)
A nice little cozy place, we would definitely go back to try their other dishes.
Dear Marcello!! What a great little cafe, now licensed with extended evening opening to boot. It's (almost) our daily stop off for coffee and maybe a bite to eat. Great food. (breakfast/lunch/dinner). Love the pizza. One of the best. Lovely and attentive (ha ha ha) Marcello (be prepared for that kiss) supported by a great team. Whilst menu is small that's a good sign as a place with a menu too long is best avoided! Sensibly priced wine. Be prepared to wait a little while for the food but it is worth it. (I am suspicious of food that arrives too quickly!) We held my wife's 60th birthday there and they put on a lovely spread. I hired a jazz trio (Club Manouche) which Marcello and everyone else enjoyed!!
Friendly is not the right word - interested and engaged staff, who showed me compassion when my buddy was 20 mins late. Had lamb shanks - yum - just right amount of food - well cooked vegetables. Choice was limited, but each option was lovely. Coffee was rich. I'll be back soon!
Stumbled upon Marcello's cafe about 6 months ago and I haven't looked another cafe since. The best Mochachino I have ever had, and the breakfast is to die for. The omelette is delicious and the eggs benedict hits the spot. Marcello and his staff are very friendly and take the time to get to know you, you feel the love in everything Marcello does. I have no problem rating Marcellos a 5 out of 5.
This cafe was a delightful surprise and the best cafe I have been to in a long time! The pizza was just to die for - I had the smoked salmon and capers pizza while my friend had the smoked chicken. I ate that whole thin crust pizza, savouring every mouthful, and felt completely satisfied (but not stuffed full) at the end. The coffee was authentically Italian with a good strong flavour. And the staff were so friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back there again...and again!

We picked a sunny winters morning and sat outside, but were never forgotten.
It also came as a big surprise that this was a gay friendly establishment, having said that it was filled with a mix of people. I would say that I rate this cafe as one of the best I have ever been to in Auckland. I will return, again and again!
Had really good omelette for breakfast with coffee. Fabulous hot chocolate! Bacon was a little bit too crispy but nice, friendly service so will definitely return again. Was so tempted by the sweet goodies in the cabinet, we took a couple of slices away for afters. The ginger crunch was made the good old fashioned way grandma used to and the Gluten Free Citrus slice was moist & tasty. The GF slices are the same reasonable prices as every thing else and they also offer GF pizza bases on their lunchtime menu. Will be back again Marcello :)
Marcellos is excellent with attention to detail in the strong coffee and the triangular slicing of rectangular cakes. The outdoor seating is great and availability of reading matter. Best around ....
