Local Thai restaurant overlooking St Heliers beach serving up some delicious food. The place is easy to miss (open the door and head up the stairs to find them) but the food they serve up sure isn't worth missing. We seriously loved and would recommend both our mains (Pad Thai and Green Curry), as well as trying out an appetizer such as the Ka Ree Puffs (minced chicken with onion and kumara in puff pastry š). Our food came out real quick too which is always a plus. They also do some beautiful fruit/vege carving for added presentation. Would prefer rice included with curry rather than having to order additionally. Think their lunch menu is only available weekdays? As we came for lunch on a Saturday and our mains cost over $20..

Delicious food here! I loved the location. I wasnāt as satisfied with some of the meals compared to others, but it was still a great experience. It wasnāt too pricy, so that was a positive. I will be here again and again!

All the food are quite nice for all different people have different taste, portions are very generous. Just very few times it took longer time for them to serve because there are quite full. BUT!!! I would recommend all my friends to go there.

Delicious flavour filled food but the quantity could be improved upon to reflect the cost. There is a cute atmosphere and with a window set you can enjoy viewing directly out onto the beach.
Great food very friendly and polite staff. Our friends share the same food with us. We asked for moreĀ sauce and that was not a problem. Coffee was great too We will come back for sure.
We had a beautiful table in the corner by the window, overlooking the beach and water. The staff was very friendly and the green curry was very good (quite spicy but I guess I could have asked for a mild). Nice place to come to for dinner and iāll definitely be back!
Beautiful restaurant with a lively view out to sea. You walk up some stairs to get to the restaurant and the dining area small but a lovely atmosphere to be in.
The waitress didn't understand much English and always looked nervous and angry but only cause she doesn't fully understand. She was lovely once you have a small chat to her and a lovely smile.
The food was fresh and didn't taste oily at all. The salad was very fresh and crunchy.
Curry puffs were not oily and pad thai the best I have had and wasn't soaked in oil or over powered with sauce!
Will definitely come back and either sit in or takeaways, definitely worth the drive from North Shore š
I've been here twice now and the food is great. The portion sizes are pretty small for the price but the view is exceptional.
My absolute favorite appetizer on the menu are the corn fritters. Highly recommend you get those first because chances are you will not get anything else. Their curry puffs and satay skewers are pretty standard and not that special. But the fritters.... Yummo!
My favorite main on their menu is the larb gai in medium heat. Fresh, zesty, light and has a kick.
Great place, great food, reasonable price, great view of rangitoto in a formal yet casually themed setting. Have frequented this place for a couple of years and have NEVER been disappointed. The staff are helpful and most efficient. Favourites have to be the deep fried whole snapper, and angel duck which is served in flaming foil before you, incredibly theatrical. Great place for formal dining all the way through to casual family dinners. A must try indeed
Angel thai had a great view for the beach as it was upstairs, the staffs were really friendly and the food was amazing. The only thing i think was needed would have been more space as the sitting arrangements were abit to close. Overall though the restaurant is amazing.
Lovely view and super service. Our 90 yo guest ordered something that she didn't realise had ginger in it until it was delivered. It was swiftly exchanged and a new one cooked without ginger without a fuss. They couldn't have been nicer for what was our mistake.Ā The lamb, chicken yellow curry, and beef stir fry and chicken stir fry without ginger were very tasty with plenty of meat and vegetables. Definitely on the list to return to.

Needs slight improvement on service, most girls are Thai with poor English language skills but they are extremely polite and bubbly.
Prices are great. A good choice that you can not go wrong.

Been here a few times for take away, and eaten in, it's cliche Thai but good :-) eating in make sure you ore book a window seat beautiful location good food will be back :-)
Hands down one of my favourite Thai restaurants in Auckland. The pad Thai is the best I've ever had and I have had my fair share of Thai food! The starters are all super tasty and the portion sizes are good.
The only downside are the prices which are a bit steep, however I am willing to look past this as the food is just so good.
Angel Thai has improved immensely since getting new owners not too long ago and I highly recommend their food. The atmosphere and service are also excellent!
Angel Thai has all of the welcoming hospitality you'd expect from a Thai restaurant, with authentic and delicious food to match. Tucked away upstairs with little street presence, the unassuming location is surprisingly spacious, light and modern, with sea views to boot - a true destination restaurant that's worth the trip.
Also has the largest range of duck dishes I've seen in a a long time, as well as all of the popular Thai classics.
Great location, food was very tasty good starters we went for the mixed starters great they do seafood and non nice touch. We had Penang curry and chicken cashew both were superb. Highly recommend make sure you book. We went on Tuesday night and they were a bit surprised we never booked. When you call to book ask for a window seat.
I use to dine in alot here. That was until it got so popular 7-8 years ago and getting a booking became impossible. Had takeaways as didn't fancy my table booking chances. Besides just had a baby so i guess takeout options will dominate for sometime.
Green curry prawn was liked by some indifferent by others. Id say i was indifferent. Ie id had better. Runny and spicy but not a deep flavour quite milky rather than flavoursome 7/10.
Pad thai chicken was reasonably pleasing. Taste great and cooked right not soggy nor stringy. 9/10.
Oh and the spring rolls. The norm is we order 2 lots and obne dish of 4 does not suffice. Given time gap with it being takeaway id say ok to the rolls. 7/10
Takeaway wait on a Saturday night was 30mins. They seemed rushed and disinterested but it was very busy. I'd go back for a seated meal. Priced mid to higher end given the super location overlooking the beachfront.
Excellent food and location. Authentic Thai food which is hard to find in Auckland - Hot means Hot to them, not watered down 'Hot' food you get in most other Thai restaurants. Service is not bad either. Definitely going back there.
In my opinion this is the top Thai restaurant in Auckland.
The food is nothing short of sensational, the staff are very friendly and accommodating and the views from the room at the front of the restaurant are some of the best Auckland has to offer.
I have eaten here on a number of occasions over the last 6 months and have always been impressed with the quality of the food. We have tried a number of dishes from the menu and some that stand out are Satay Pla, Poh Pia Sod (absolutely stunning), Angel Toasted, Kaeng Massamam, Pad Kra Pao Beef, Pad Kra Pao seafood, Pad Thai Prawns and our absolute favourite in the winter Tom Yum Noodles Prawns.
Get a table with harbour views and prepare for a Thai Feast to remember.
Love the Thai food here, very tasty and beautiful presentation of dishes... Probably one of the best places to go for Thai food around the Bays in Auckland.
Great food, really delicious! Very nice atmosphere, brilliant views. We've been there with our two kids and some friends and we all enjoyed the evening. Staff was very friendly. We waited a bit long, as it was fully booked. We'll come be back!
Consistently good food. Nice atmosphere and view. Can be a bit noisy sometimes. BYO wine. Good for couples as well as families and larger groups. Staff has always been friendly. Take aways as well. The beef larb here is the best I have had in NZ>
