Quality food with reasonable prices! Highly recommend the katsu and prawn tempura - looks so crispy and appetising. Will definitely visit again.
First time being in this place and already in love😍
Such a big portion for a cheap price also very tasty. Excellent service🥰 Thank you 🙏
Tried their kumara cheese katsu and Katsu Tteokbokki. Really well-presented and tasty. Recommended to people who enjoy fusion Korean-Japanese Cuisine!
Had spicy rice cake Katsu which was very yummy. The chicken katsu was very crispy with Korean spicy sauce. Just a bit too sweet for me but very delicious.
A few friends recommend that I try this place out for their Kumara Cheese Tonkatsu. I ordered that alongside the tteokbokki with tonkatsu. The Kumara Cheese Tonkatsu was so good. I never really though that Kumara and cheese would go so well together. It’s a super filling meal because of the Kumara ontop of everything else so it’s definitely worth the price. The tteokbokki was good- tastes like most tteokbokki dishes I’ve tried. Overall the dishes were lovely and I’ll definitely be back for more.
First time I went I got the teriyaki Chicken donburi which was nothing special
However, when I went back & ordered the spicy teriyaki tofu Donburi my views for this place changed. The sauce for this was no overly sweet & had the perfect amount of spicyness! Tofu was super soft & also comes with ginger...
My friend ordered the spicy rice cake Katsu & the portion was massive - apparently this dish was very delish & I’m excited to try this next time I visit!
Very polite staff! Good food! I've been trying all their katsu menu. Cheese katsu is the best ♡ also miso is free which is really good! Not many people around lunch, which is an extra bonus for me! ♡

Amazing Japanese Restaurant in Auckland Central.
Ordered a Korean Japanese fusion dish, Japanese style chicken cutlet topped on Korean tradition Spicy rice cake dish.
The combination is extremely unique, and it was truely an amazing experience.
Slightly disappointed with Salmon Don, visually looked good but I was expecting some veges and spicy sauce instead of soy sauce and wasabi. My date enjoyed it tho.
I ordered Spicy rice cake katsu chicken with cheese for takeaway. It took me around 15 mins to get home and eat it and the dish was still hot with katsu still crispy. Might have been the tightly packed glad-wrap packaging that did the trick, but this also prevented any leakage which I found was essential for this dish as it is soupy at the bottom. There was a generous amount of rice cakes as well as some noodles inside, and the cheese and katsu together tastes really good. The noodles were too much for me, but this meal would definitely fill up a person with a BIG appetite. The dish was also not too salty for my liking.
Friendly customer service both in person and on the phone.
Had the Kumara katsu, and friend had the rice cake katsu. Kumara katsu is an interesting combination! But I think I would enjoy the plain katsu better as the addition of the kumara caused the katsu to be no longer as crispy as desired... the rice cake katsu was really tasty and savoury, but not for people who dislike salty food. had ramen in the dish too!
seems like there's plenty of Korean customers in store.
Came in for a light lunch after eating at daikoku today. Ordered some curry chicken ramen and karaage. Curry chicken ramen was extremely flavourful. Soup of ramen tasted like pure curry sauce and chicken was smooth. Karaage was deep fried perfectly with not too much batter around the meat. Mayo tasted a bit sour but was a great combination with the karaage when eaten together. Service and environment was good.
Much exceeding my expectations. Was looking for a decent japanese restaurant with my friends. Korean spicy pork Ramen had really deep spicy broth, might be a little too spicy but it's not a problem for anyone who loves spicy dish. Think its a really good place to come as a couple or tbh, good for everyone who craving for good japanese-fusion restaurant within CBD area. 100% worth for a re-visit.
In my opinion, the food is good but a little lacklustre. I got the spicy rice cake katsu since it seemed a little different and I was craving something spicy. The sauce was a good mix of sweet and spicy. There was a good amount of rice cake and katsu, and some additional fish cake in there somewhere. There was also ramen which I felt let down the dish. They just tasted really weird and stringy, I think this dish could be improved if the noodles were a bit thicker. You can get full eating this really quickly since the rice cakes are so glutinous.
Staff were really nice though, our waitress was pretty friendly and seemed happy. The decor is quite pretty and they have self serve chilled water.
The price was average, similar to other restaurants nearly. My dish was $15 and I think most dishes were around the $15-16 price range.
Stopped by here for a quick meal before our friend had to go the airport. We choose this place cause it was really close to the Skybus pick up point.
The place is quite narrow but does have a quite a few tables inside. After being seated and given menus we were able to order when we were ready to do so. I tried the spicy rice cake with katsu, which is more Korean than Japanese. they had quite a range of different items which did seem nice, mostly deep fried.
The rice cakes were tasty and surprisingly also had noodles in them which was great. The katsu was nice but got a bit soggy with the sauce. Nice place for a quick stop for food.
Really good place for cheap udon, a lot of my friends go to the Korean place next door but udon is Japanese and Osaka has a $5 udon which is great. I also had their vegetarian dumplings which were $8, I don’t really recommend it unless you’re craving a fried something that somewhat resembles a gyoza. There was a slightly long wait for the udon which was weird since we were the only one who they were serving at the time.
Based on the one dish I've had here, I'm giving this place a 5.
I ordered a carbonara udon out of curiosity as I'd never heard of that combination before, but it turned out delicious!! It's basically your usual carbonara with the sauce, ham and mushroom etc. But instead of the usual noodles they use Udon noodles which are thicker and provide a really nice satisfying texture to the meal. It came with two sushi and a bit of soup, but I couldn't even finish the sushi as the dish itself was satisfying enough.
For the great taste and quantity, it only cost $13 at dinner time so I'd really recommend it. The restaurant is even nicely decorated and had great customer service.
Side note : although I do feel like your experience may depend on what you order as my friend got a regular udon for $10 and it wasnt bad... Just not as worth it as it's just noodle, soup and some fish cake.
Very impressed by this small joint. Great service, lots of free miso soup! What amazed me was the quality of the chicken katsu curry. It was to die for! And only for 10$!!!!!! What? Yes, with miso and salad too!!!
Really tasty tofu salad, the portions are quite large and the food is tasty. The fries taste good too. Prices are decent for the establishment. The customer service is fine.
The entrance has these plastic curtain doors. They're quite weird to walk through and the front display case of sushi looks unclean.
The couch seats are in very bad condition and they seem to be ripped up from old age, but it doesn't really matter that much if you sit on the proper chairs. The rest of the place is decorated nicely.
I still think this place is worth four stars solely because the food is great.
Amazing Japanese Food with great choice of bento boxes, donburi,Katsu, salads and noodles.Great service in timely manner.Once you visit you keep going back for more.Great value for money and great quality. We will be back soon.

Food is not bad for the price! Self serve and free miso soup !!! Service is okay, the server didn’t even say thank you. Overall, cheap vibes and just don’t expect good quality service.
Had the spicy rice cake katsu which was very yummy. The chicken katsu was so crispy outside and tender and juicy inside with Korean spicy sauce but just a bit sweet for me. But the whole dish was very delicious.
Amazing Japanese Food with great choice of bento boxes, donburi,Katsu, salads and noodles. Loved this cute tiny place 💖
Lovely pretty environment. Friendly staff ! Great miso soup. The food was presented well and tasted delicious.
Nice little restaurant. Got the drinks wrong, but the good food and service made up for that. Bathroom could do with a good tidy up as it doubles as a storage area.
Nice staff, nice food & nice place. Free yummy miso :) i love and definitely recommend the place/restaurant!
There is no more cheese katsu, but I was happy to eat kumara katsu instead of that.

Now they add cheese katsu $19 ! If you are cheese lover, highly recommend this.
