Fish and chips was good, service was quick and good, but the battered fish didn't have a crunchy enough skin and the skin would often slide off the white fish meat when I ate it. Overall good experience.
always busy best time to go around lunch.
best and fresh fish

Ambience: 5/10

i will defiantly go back .
Been going there for a number of years. Present owners took over a couple of years back and you usually find its not so great. However they have made it even better than before. Great service and lovely fresh fish cooked to order.
I'll keep being a regular. Thanks guys.
A definite 5 Star from me. They’re always delivering great customer service and tasty takeaways. Cheers Catch a Fish, keep up the good work.
Recently discovered this place and would definitely recommend it. Delicious food and excellent customer service every time. Great work guys.
Great fish and chips shop. Speedy service, apart from the real peak times where there are more orders than they can handle (which is understandable). Food is delicious and really happy to have them as my local takeaways.
My only gripe is that they're closed on Sundays, and that maybe they could offer milkshakes or something too.
The BEST fish and chips in auckland. Fabulous service, wonderfully fresh fish and the BEST chips ever! I'm very lucky to have them around the corner.
Bought chips for the office and everybody loved them... And now love me, thanks for the easy love.
I was going to take a picture of the bacon burger with a big bite out of it, I ate it all without even realising it.
This Parnell takeaway is a bit of a revelation to us. Beautiful fresh snapper and chips we really enjoyed the bluff oysters! Loved that the fish and chips were still wrapped in newspaper to. We are very happy this is our local. We will be back!
Very good fish and chips however, having to buy your own lemon at the counter when they could pop a slice in per portion was disappointing.
Always consistently good. Bearing in mind that this is takeaway food, it wouldn't seem right for me not to award 5-stars. Their lunch Special of fish, chips, sausage and a potato fritter is amazing value.
Catch a fish is everything you want in a local fish and chips shop. Their fish and seafood is fresh, their prices are low and the family running it is super friendly. It's no surprise that its incredibly popular with the Parnell locals.
I usually order the fried snapper with a half scoop of chips. Their fish of the day is quite cheap, and you can get a variety of seafood for around $10 with their special. While it's not the best fish and chips in Auckland, it's definitely the best value for money.
I visited Catch A Fish Takeaway in New Zealand and I was pleasantly surprised by their quality and service. The fish was fresh and crispy, the chips were hot and fluffy, and the sauces were tangy and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. The only reason I'm not giving them a 5-star review is because the place doesn't have many options, with almost no atmosphere, and no seating places near the area, with the nearest at the rose gardens. But overall, I had a great experience, and I would recommend Catch a Fish Takeaway to anyone looking for a satisfying seafood meal.
A friendly, nice owner operated fish and chips shop. They were friendly, attentive, accommodating and patient. The fish is moist but the batter is really crunchy. Perfectly cooked fish and chips. The place is tucked away from the road, so make sure you pay attention on when to turn as this shop is a must try. Their lunch pack also come with a sausage.
Great service. Even took my order before their midday opening time. Well cooked and plenty to eat. Fish was delicious. Had the family pack $29 Punnet of sauce was an additional $2.50. Great value for an inner city fish and chip shop.
Great little chippie! Can always rely on good fish and chips from this place. Also quite often buy fresh fish fillets to take home to cook. Fresh and tasty.
The fish is fresh and very nicely battered and fried. The Tarakihi fish was very tasty and is a must try. We had kumara chips for the side which was great too, very crispy on the outside and nicely cooked inside (although I don't quite like sweet potato). They also have a bench in front of the store where you can have your food there.
I visited here for the first time today. Food was really fresh and tasty! This is the best fish and chips shop ever. A Kiwi cashier is so kind and patient. Before I ordered, I saw the menu on the google and my estimated price was roughly $25 but it came to higher than I thought. So I asked her to count once more. It turns out I saw the menu posted 3 years ago 😅🤦🏻♀️I would visit here again. !!
As a treat had a portion of chips snd battered snapper. Both really good. Best fried chips I've had in a long time. Nice sized piece of snapper.
Good fish and chips, wrapped in paper as providence intended. Chips could have been a little crisper and browner, and a convenient way to get a bit of tomato sauce on them for bag-ripped consumption would have been great.
I'll go back through.
Embarking on a quest to find exceptional takeout options, my culinary adventure led me to the discovery of the best fish burger I've ever tasted. This hidden gem of a seafood delight was a true testament to the mastery of flavors, even in the comfort of take-away dining.
As I eagerly unwrapped the package, the fish burger's tantalizing aroma instantly beckoned me. A gorgeously grilled fillet of the freshest fish, perfectly nestled between two soft brioche buns, greeted me with its mouthwatering presentation. The minimalistic yet inviting combination of crisp lettuce and ripe tomatoes added an extra layer of freshness and allure.
Taking the first bite, I was transported to a world of gustatory pleasure. The fish fillet, cooked to perfection, boasted a remarkable tenderness that was unparalleled. Each flake melted in my mouth, affirming the supreme quality of the seafood used. The masterful seasoning highlighted the inherent flavors of the fish, embracing its natural sweetness with finesse.
What set this fish burger apart from any other was its elegant simplicity. Eschewing excessive toppings and complex condiments, the dish focused solely on celebrating the taste of the ocean's bounty. This approach showcased the chef's dedication to sourcing the freshest ingredients and skillfully crafting a satisfying experience for their customers.
In place of aioli, a delightful and creamy mayo played a harmonious role, seamlessly binding the flavors together. This modest yet effective touch elevated the burger's taste, offering a rich, velvety backdrop that exquisitely complemented the star of the show—the fish fillet.
Accompanying the burger were a medley of mixed greens and a refreshing cucumber salad. These thoughtful and palate-cleansing sides balanced the meal perfectly, making for an all-encompassing culinary affair.
Though I opted for take-away, the care and attention given to the packaging were evident. My food arrived neatly arranged, maintaining its freshness and flavors until I could savor each and every bite.
In conclusion, the best fish burger I've ever savored stands as a beacon of excellence in the realm of take-away seafood delights. The sublime taste of the impeccably grilled fish, paired with the soft brioche buns and accompanied by the delectable mayo, was nothing short of extraordinary. Whether dining in or indulging in take-out, this culinary masterpiece is a must-try for any seafood enthusiast seeking a gratifying and flavorful experience.
Delicious fish and chips. Crunchy batter on the fish and oysters, chips just right. Fast and efficient with pleasant staff.
