This place is my regular from last week. They do good Thai food. Addictive. Still so many I want to try, but I liked their Chilli & Basil Stir Fry & Penang Curry. Good flavor.
Tried the Garlic and Pepper Stir Fry with white rice and was probably the best vegetarian thai dish I ever had. The combination of bokchoi, mushrooms and other veggies were cooked perfectly and the whole dish itself was quite juicy and delicious. The tofu was cooked just about right. By the time. I added some pickled chillies to the dish that made it quite hot however just the way I wanted it. I was so tempted to order another dish but held my reins. Would love to try their other dishes especially the meat dishes. The quantity of rice is little less and hence giving it 4/5.
Food: 3.8/5
Service: 4/5
Overall: 4/5
I ordered the roasted duck red curry with prawns and the curry was so delicious! This curry had lychee and pineapple so it had some sweetness which went really well with the curry and coconut cream. There were lots of vegetables (and bamboo shoots which were my favourite) inside. and they served the rice in a heart shape❤️ One little thing I didn’t like was that there was too little rice provided for this yummy curry!
their mango curry is addictive I could have it for a week. But man they give tiny amount ogf rice which doesn't match the curry. and the quality of the rice is not so good. rice is not that expensive be a bit more generous.
Wasn’t too sure what to order.. the guy helped me pick a dish.. went for a spicy chicken stir fry dish with medium spice.. didn’t take long before my plate was set in front of me.. presentation was nice.. the rice was in the shape of a heart.. usually my hungry takes over and I start eating and forget to take a photo.. however because of the presentation I didn’t forget! The taste of the dish was really good.. the spice was borderline how I like it but still delicious! I devoured my plate! will definitely be back again!
Popped in here for Friday lunch with colleagues. We had other dishes too but started to eat those before we took pics! Was good. Money Bag were so-so but the meals were generously portioned.
This place is just amazing. This place has always surprised me with their food. This what I didn't like was few of their stir fry taste a bit same. Overall it's a good place to be.
Working in the city is a bliss, this food court is by far the best foodcourt in Auckland. Love the South Asian feel, takes me back to Singapore. Wang Thong Is right in between and remains busy during peak time. Their food can beat any average Thai restaurants actually absolutely delicious. Must try would be Garlic pepper stir fry, I have tried quite a few dishes from here this one stands out. It's a regular joint for lunches :)
Lovely Thai food from the Food Alley, seatings are limited and it's quite busy between 12 and 1pm on workdays but they have such a great variety of meals and meats. Very quick service too.
This place is serious awesome, I had the number 23 coconut meal with rice.
Ridiculously tasty and although the portions were massive, i didn't even notice that I had dominated my meal and that it was all nearly gone.
Can't wait to try other dishes this place has to offer. Excellent lunch option for my fellow CBD workers.
Showstopper: Scrumptious taste. Highly recommended to my fellow CBD workers.
Overall Grade: B+
Decided to finally make a visit to Food Alley. Was feeling like Thai food and settled for Rama curry at Wang Thong. For the price of $11 I was not expecting much. But boy was I surprised! The portion size was generous and the taste was authentic. I was thoroughly impressed! The lady was even nice enough to ask the level of spiciest I'd prefer (I chose Thai level spicy ;)
I'll definitely be making a trip back to try their other dishes.
I have tried the sweet and sour chicken and the ginger chicken. Both dishes are yummy! Packed full of lots of veges and meat. The ginger chicken has a nice gingery sauce. The sweet and sour has a nice light batter. Really quick to cook the food as well. Good value for money.
My colleague and I popped up here for lunch today (I hadn't been to Food Alley before) and I went straight for the thai food as it's one of my favourite cuisines.
I chose the green curry with tofu and vegetables, and my workmate got the rama curry with tofu and vegetables (rama curry I discovered today is red curry with peanut sauce - pretty much the most beautiful marriage of flavours ever).
We only had to wait 5 minutes or so for our food to be ready (we ordered takeaway) and everything was still piping hot by the time we returned to the office to eat. The portions were generous and enough for me to have lunch and a snack later, and everything was totally delicious - the tofu was also fried to a really nice consistency.
Will definitely be back to get my own rama curry!
Amazing portion size, very tasty food. Try the duck curry, second to none. Staff are always friendly. You can go wrong with this place if you are after an affordable meal
Great taste, portion size and quick service. We had the satay chicken for lunch, this was plenty for two, only $11 :) I would recommend Wang Thong cheep and cheerful.
I eat at Food Alley a few times a year but I have never had the Thai food. I usually get the claypot rice. I really felt like something full of flavour and decided on the crispy chicken with panang sauce.
I rate them a 4 out of 5 based on the flavour, the portion size and the price.
I thought the dish was very full of flavour, exactly what I was craving, it had a side of mixed vegetables and soup. I was very surprised at the portion size especially for $11. It was huge, next time my husband and I will share this.
I will have try them again in the future and give the other dishes on the menu a go.
