Our usual go-to Italian in restaurant in Milford. Their food is generally very good, especially the lamb shank, but service can be hit or miss. BYO is allowed and they do good takeaways too đ

We love coming to Athenia, food is always great, service is friendly, just donât have high hopes of owner wonât like you :) Garlic bread is too die for!
Yummy food. Service was slack to begin with but improved as the night went on and even sang happy birthday when they brought the cake out. Also fast to take dirty plates away

Starting of garlic pizza bread was not the best,if you like raw garlic then it may suit you. But garlic wasn't cooked.

Been here a few times and always a pleasure. All types of dishes ordered for a group of 20, which is always demanding on the kitchen and staff and takes great management to pull off. Food was excellent as always, but what we were all commenting on was the waitress 'Ashley'. She is certainly an asset to this business and proved that great service is all about attitude and making a connection with the customer. Thanks again chef for a great night!
Second time there snobs it was as great as the first. Family dinner (mum dad and kids). Thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. Nice staff. Will definitely go again. I have never had so much difficulty choosing what to have as there were so many delicious sounding options.
2nd time we dine at Athenia in Rome , friendly staff , quick service , it was after 9 pm on Thursday night and it was packed with people , a little noisy but we enjoyed the food , my husband and I both had snapper dish was really yum , big portion and full of flavor ,
An above average Italian restaurant. Everything works well and no complaints whatsoever. It just seems to be lacking a little magic. Well worth a try though

Ended up in Athenia in Roma as the boyfriend was stating it was one of the best fettuccine's he's had.
With his love for Italian food and the decor hinting towards a holiday to Rome soon, I was excited to see what he was raving on about.
The service was lovely, felt like the waitress was new but she still made us feel welcome on a quiet Tuesday night.
The food itself was lovely sharing a garlic bread pizza to start with and fettuccine and pizza for mains. We tend to be the type to over order but everything was perfect portion size. I must say he was right on the fettuccine being delicious and would definitely order that next time.
We also decided to try the Italian Pinot Grigio to set our mood and we found it incredibly satisfying and a perfect fit with our food choice. Would definitely come to back just for the wine!
Overall lovely evening, great atmosphere and delightful food. Night would have been complete with a desert but sadly they didn't have the chocolate one we wanted. Hopefully next time.
Best customer service in Milford and delicious pizzas. We have been coming here for years and they even accommodated us when we had two babies in prams. Really cosy, lively atmosphere. For a small corkage fee you can also bring your own wine. Highly recommended.
I have always had a great experience when coming here. Food is always great. Music is always relaxing and the atmosphere is very comfortable. I love their rossini pasta and athenia pizza. Will happily be going back for years to come x
Visited the place on a busy friday night the restaurant was crazy busie heaps of people but still very fast customer service and delicious good quality food and the ambiance was awesome.
I would suggest booking if you want a quiet table. Partner and I stumbled upon Athenia while looking for somewhere to eat. We were seated quickly by the friendly staff who brought us menus etc. Settled for garlic bread as starters. Partner chose the lasagne....bursting with flavor and lots of meat. I opted for the pizza. Beautiful crispy base. Very fast service even though they were extremely busy. Definitely recommend
Was there with a girlfriend for dinner. Great atmosphere, lovely customer service, good reasonably priced food. The appetiser  was simple but divine tasting (garlic pizza bread), my main (fettucini di pollo e spinach) was my favourite - coincidentally I was on a spinach diet lol and the dessert (I think it was choc brownie and some ice cream)  was lovely too.
We were the last customers to leave the restaurant and they were nice enough to wait for us to finish! This is what I call AWESOME customer service.
Would def return - this is one of the unassuming Italian restaurants in Milford. Worth the drive.

I have had multiple dishes from Athenia including their well known Athenia Pizza, it was divine. I have never been let down by the food that they serve and the atmosphere is just amazing, really cozy and romantic. I would recommend Athenia to people looking for a nice meal that is large and worth your money. :)

Wow, the best pizza on the North Shore by far!! I am going to have to sample their in-house menu sometime soon but their pizza is truly the best, it's filled with so many delicious toppings, dripping with cheese, any other pizza shop on the north shore should be ashamed!!! Why only a couple of stars?? I see this place chocked filled with people all the time. . .

Only ever had take away Pizza from here, but always excellent and on time. Have tried most places in Milford and still feel this is the best, might be a little dearer, but you get more on it. More like a real Italian Pizza. A real nice place.
Last night we went to Athenia for dinner, I was very impressed the meal was just lovely. This is a local restaurant and one cannot expect to high an expectation but for the price we were very happy. We started with garlic pizza, I had salmon pasta with a greek salad -delicious, my husband had a seafood pizza, we followed with desert and they were both delicious. We also had a bottle of Italian wine. We loved our experience, it is easy and the staff were very nice. Our meal cost $123.00 and we thought this was great value for money.
Friends and I dine there regularly. There's an 18 yo girl that runs the place most nights and when she's there the place runs like clockwork. Of course it's not a Euro but neither does it charge like one. It's good value for money and the meals are complete; no need for additional sides. And if you're not frightened of a rare steak, they'll cook it for you just as you like. The one common denominator I see in all the negative reviews is they're all using vouchers. Cheapskates.
It's been at least 2 years since we dined at Athenia, having moved from Milford, so were hoping the experience this time would be as good as we had remembered. It was! The four of us chose from the 'mains' menu, shared two desserts between us, and enjoyed a bottle of Marlborough Pino Gris. The service was friendly, the food was very tasty and well presented (each of our mains were under $30). What especially took my attention was the great "buzz" of a near full restaurant on a Sunday evening - I surmised, a lot of locals who knew from experience this would be an affordable and very satisfying night out with family or friends.
Went there on a busy Friday with the kids and had an above average meal. The service was attentive, and the price not unreasonable. Should be a safe bet!

A friend booked a table for us in their "separated" area for a party of 13. Initially there were a couple of other tables occupied in this area, but once they left we had it to ourselves. It's BYO :-) so the wine was great plus food and service too. No problems with each couple paying their account either. An enjoyable evening.

We went to this restaurant last night with a party of 40. We had a set menu. The food was yum, it took quite a long time before our order was cooked and there were some mix ups in the food bought out but over all i would recommend Athenia.
They ran out of two of the deserts, and the duty manager was seen pointing the finger at our party and telling the waitress that our party was not allowed to order any more food (as i gather the kitchen wanted to close up!) it was quite amusing. The atmosphere was lovely, i agree with the last comment left about the noise level, perhaps they need to get some windows open to allow the sound to dissapate?
Would definitely recommend Athenia to those wanting a reasonably priced meal out with some yummy food.
My family often go to Athenia. The staff are always super friendly. I find I am still wanting after some of the dishes but I love the fish!!! We will continue to visit.

We were advised that to go there by our friends. This advice did not disappoint with the two highlights for me being the entrée mix of mussels and scallops and following main by king prawn risotto. Fantastic menu, brilliant service too. Waitresses are lovely and very patient with our kids. It is very difficult to give this restaurant anything less than 5 stars. We have already booked our next weekend there.
Athenia in roma had been recommended to me by a couple of people, so I booked it for my birthday dinner. I am so happy to say it was wonderful experience. The food was fantastic, there was plenty of it and it was full of flavor, the service amazing and the atmosphere awesome. I can not fault one thing about our dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Great tasting food, friendly staff, and lovely cozy place. We found this place when we drove past and smelt the Yummy food. Literally found this place with our noses! Thatâs how good it smelt. Canât wait to come back and try something new!

The food is very good, fresh ingredients, well prepared and presented, and portions of a reasonable size. We really enjoyed our meal! The service is excellent. I've read that desserts are pre-made, but they were really nice nevertheless. I'd definitely recommend this place!
Well priced and exceptional main dishes with great variety. Love their white sauce dishes while my wife loved their tomato based dishes.
Pizza is very nice and well priced with great quality.
So price range can be very family friendly if you just want a pizza dinner; or more fine dine cuisine range if you wish to treat yourself.
Either way you are in for a treat.
The first time i stepped into this restaurant I was hit by the delicious warm aroma of garlic bread. The decor is beautiful and the service attentive and polite. I couldn't believe I had never been here before. My meal and my friend's meals were absolutely incredible. I just read some other reviews and was shocked ! This place is amazing. I m going there again tonight!
