Organised a surprise high tea for my friend. We had a lovely time over here. Peaceful place with lovely decor where you can relax with your friends with a tea or coffee and sweet and savoury nibbles. There is a good range of tea selections to choose. The delicious array of sweet and savoury treats were served on a stunning 3-tier stand as you can see in pictures. I love their fluffy scones served with jam and clotted cream. High tea by Cordis is truly a lovely experience.

Beautiful decor. The cordis has the most beautifully luxe atmosphere- the high tea here is spectacular- I would highly recommend with girlfriends and to bring your mum and/or grandma- it’s a real “treat” quite literally and figuratively.
Pictured here is a wee late night platter and wine ordered after an event in the ballroom.

Went in for High Tea. Service was exceptional! They have an extensive list of tea and you can also get some coffee if you get sick of the tea. It was quiet so they let us stay a little bit longer. You could really tell each food was carefully hand picked to be listed on the menu. I enjoyed the savoury bites more than the sweet slices, especially the small smashed egg on sliced bread – this was surprisingly delicious. The date scone was nice too (not shown on the photo as this is served on a separate tray). The sweet slices were OK, but the ice-block looking sorbet was really divine. I recommend grabbing a couple of friends to sit and relax to experience this great valued High Tea experience.

Super friendly bartender/waiter. Food was okay, above average. Ordered seafood platter. Wine was tasty. Pricey than others I think. If u stay in cordis, could try.

One of the best places to relax and have a cup of coffee or something light to eat.

Always come here with friends and family as we all love the atmosphere and the service is great too.

For the price you pay at a outlet coffee stores, you could get the same but better experience here at the Lounge. Or you can opt for something more fancy but it wont empty your wallet!!

Will visit again and highly recommended for weekend meet ups.

Enjoy!!

We have had high teas here when it was Palm Court by Langham and now again after it has been renovated to Lobby Lounge by Cordis. I have to say Palm Court’s decor was more suited to the popular high tea that many people come here for.
The high tea morsels and tea range were still of high quality, and the service were of high standard. The experience offered was impeccable as always.
It remains to be my favourite high tea place in Auckland.

Came here to celebrate a girlfriend’s birthday!
This was my first high-tea experience and I was glad it was with Cordis!

The tiers are all delicately executed, more so than the ones I’ve seen of other places. It’s more elegant and sophisticated than just sausage rolls and sandwiches.

My favourite from the bottom tier would be the tuna and beef slices! The mozzarella panna cotta was quite rich, but not for everyone (my friend gave hers to me)! The small orange bulbs were very interesting; bursts in your mouth, but with savoury juices!

The second tier was a bit unexciting, gesturing sandwiches that didn’t reach Cordis standards. The scrambled egg loaf was nice though.

Scones came with our tea, and the scones were delicious! Beautifully golden and crispy outside and soft and fluffy inside; paired perfectly with the jams!

The flower pot panna cotta was so good too! Light, creamy with subtle fruity flavours and the chocolate “soil” added the perfect balance! Loved the bit of sorbet at the top too!

Dessert top tier was my favourite! The matcha meringue one was so good, with earthy flavours lifted by some citrus custard! The winner would have to be the Snickers Bar though!!! So many textures going on, and to lessen the richness, there’s a layer of citrus caramel amongst the crunchiness and nuttiness!
The rhubarb cheesecakes were nice and refreshing to with with!

Overall, lovely high tea experience with very professional service throughout!

Food/Drinks: Came for the Christopher Robins high tea special and loved every minute of it. Each food is themed from segments of the movie and dedicated to a character. The food was yummy, especially the dessert! But one of the best things about high tea at Cordis is their tea selection. The flavours are so unique and there are so many wonderful teas to choose from. My favourite is definitely their iced tea range!

Aesthetics & Vibes: There was a lot of attention to detail with the Winnie the Pooh theme as they had red balloons everywhere, bear shaped drinks, flavours and specially named the dishes to represent each character in the movie. Had such a wonderful time there and it was the best high tea experience I’ve had so far!

Came here for a birthday high tea celebration. We haven’t been here since it changed from Langham. At $69 pp is quite a good value of money, you get a pot of brewed tea of your choice, lots of gourmet sweets and savouries. There is option to add champagne at a cost. The service is top notch and even better than we remembered. The waitress is super attentive and she even offered additional complimentary tea free of charge. We also received ice tea on arrival, so refreshing. The Kiwi Summer themed high tea is delicious and tasty. I believe they change up the menu every couple of months. You may think that’s small but we are all so full and couldn’t finish the sweets which they offered to box it up for us. The stand out for us were the egg milk bread, mozzarella panna cotta, explosion of butternut squash and scones. Not to mention the Summer Flower Pot dessert was unique! Perfect for girls day out!

Amazing high tea - the best in Auckland by far. Price is also fair for the quality and high standard they have managed to maintain throughout the years. They also keep it interesting by introducing themed high teas. Staff are always so lovely and knowledgeable.

My husband and I stayed here recently. We went to the lounge for a pre dinner drink. The first thing that is in your line of sight is the huge gorgeous chandelier! A real statement piece! It was early evening when we sat down in a lovely chair and seat arrangement. The decor is upmarket and fancy, The lights were dimmed it was quite an intimate scene. The staff were friendly and attentive. It is a lovely place to catch up over a quiet tipple. I would love to come back here for a high tea. Specifically the Disney's Christopher Robin High Tea which will be between 14 Sep-14 Oct.

Lovely surrounds in the lobby area of the Langham Hotel. While it's in quite a prominent area it's surprisingly private as we sat enjoying our afternoon beverage. We ordered two cups of tea that arrived as two pots of tea. Served in lovely china and...More

Wedgwood High tea - the portion is generous, a lot of food to keep us full. Savoury ones were not as nice as the sweets. Scones with clotted cream is nice.

Good coffee (I had long black), loved the langham blend tea and the fact that they brew the tea nicely and serve it in a pot instead of giving you a tea bag.

Personally it is very very close to being the best high tea in town for me. Have been here numerous times. The ambience is nice and relaxing with a slightly quaint feel. Service is your usual standard plus that bit extra, which is fitting and necessary for such a place.

We just had the standard high tea for two which was delicious and exquisite. Nothing felt out of place, it was the perfect place to spend an afternoon.

Came in for a festive afternoon tea with a friend and was not disappointed. Decor was lovely and well suited to the style of afternoon tea served. Service was almost fantastic, but good nonetheless. Very personal, but could be more attentive. The tea was nice, and the food was of good quality, though there were some items I thought were on the bland side. Overall, it was a lavish amount of food without being too excessive.

I do wish that the Palm Court was located in a nicer area of the hotel however, as it had the inescapable feeling of a hotel lobby.

So far my favourite afternoon tea in Auckland.

A niche, elegant and extravagant seating, ambience as well as service.

I reckon the best place for an afternoon tea with your family or best lots. They also do champagne afternoon tea for special occasions.

I have been here many many times and always had the most delightful experience.

Definitely must go experience.

The Langham High Tea really is one of the best in town. Everything is so fresh & beautifully presented & they take pride in all that they do.
The Tea is matched like a sommelier matches wine & they really know their stuff. They also have an option which includes a glass of champagne.
Service is excellent.
The only issue we had on this visit was that there was so much food we couldn't finish it. They do provide boxes so you can take away any leftovers though which is great.

Staying at The Langham for the All Blacks game and decided to eat in and order room service.

We got the Chicken Club with fries and Chicken on rocket, all presented really well but taste and freshness was just ok, I'd expect more from the Langham as it's defiantly one of the best Hotels in Auckland.

The staff took really took good care of us.. since I can't eat gelatin and asked for alcohol free. They made a platter just like that. They take really good care of their customers. Palm court is absolutely the perfect place for tea. This place is beautifully decorated with great settings. You were greater with a jar of fresh flower and beautiful Wedgwood China wares.

The service was gentle but professional. The waiting staffs were attentive helpful and friendly.

The food was nicely presented and you're basically faced with 3 tiers full of yummy treats. Just when you think you tasted them all, the waitress walked out with plate full of warm scones, fresh cream and jams. Hugh election of tea, iced tea and coffee. A little slice of cake just before you were about to finish ! There were so much food we couldn't possible finish them all there. They offered to boxed up the food for us to takeaway!

We would definitely be back for more good times!

We came here for high tea to celebrate our graduates. I know it's the Langham and it would probably be expected but: the service was exceptional. All of the staff that looked after us were friendly, conversant and helpful. The high tea itself was delicious and almost too much (probably too much for some people!) So much food! The tea was plentiful and offered in a range of flavours. At the end of our high tea, the staff presented some little "Congradulations" chocolates to each of our graduates. It was such a lovely touch to acknowledge the hard work. So thanks to the Palm Court for a fantastic experience. I look forward to this again!

We went for a really lovely High Tea recently for a work celebration. The Langham is a stunning hotel and the Palm Court takes you back in time to the times of old. The decor is stunning with stools for the ladies handbags and the china was beautiful. We had champagne, ofcourse which was lovely and crisp. The food itself was perfection, the most beautiful little treats almost too pretty to eat. We had tea that you chose off a large tea menu with the scones and mine was a really delicate floral delight, the perfect way to finish off. Take your time and don't rush it as there is so much food and why would you want to leave?? I will be back for another special occasion and it's not just for women, we took our boss who enjoyed it just as much as us!

Now i wasnt sure whether to put my review for palm court or the eight as i actually came here for a works training so i wasnt sure what part of the restaurant this food had come from! But i looked at the menu and what we had was mostly similar to palm court! Firstly, what a beautiful place the langham is! Was blown away when i walked in! We were taken to our meeting room and greeted with a range of teas and coffee which was a great way to begin the meeting! We then had a break around 10.30 with more tea and some scrummy muffins! They were amazing but really small and not enough of them! There was a apple crumble muffin and a sticky lemon one! They both tasted sooo good! We then moved onto lunch around 1pm and it was a buffet type but there was heaps of it there! We had cold amd hot options too. We had a cold pasta salad with sundried tomato, peppers and olives and also a ceasar salad too! The hot options were udon noodles with vegetables and sauce, a risotto with parmesan, and lamb skewers with green beans and mint yoghurt! Jeez. The lamb skewers were sensational and seasoned perfectly!! I lost count of how many i had! The risotto was just as nice aswell! Everyone went back for seconds and there was still loads left! One of our colleagues had some dietary requirments and had her own little lunch which was perfect to her needs and was no fuss to the staff at all. We then finished off with panacotta and a strawberry sauce! This was again, another perfect dish! It was a small pot though and i had 2 of them and could of had more!l. But then again i have a very sweet tooth! I cant wait to come back here to eat more food that the langham has to offer!

The decor is gorgeous, it's like being in an English castle or something. The tea is very good, try the rose one. I would definitely recommend the butter chicken, it's the best I've ever had and I still dream of it to this day. It's not that pricy either! Also the Caesar salad is very nice. Oh and if you go for breakfast, get the pancakes they're amazing oh my gosh. Sebastian is a good waiter, 10/10 would recommend

When I think of a High-tea that encompasses luxury, history, and sheer extravagance I think of the Langham’s Afternoon Tea with Wedgwood. As we walked into the main hotel lobby and were immediately greeted by a gigantic vase of flowers, I knew this was going to be an awesome experience. We continued along to Palm Court (the small bar/eatery nearby and I could hear the beautiful sounds of a harp playing alongside the dining area. She played all sorts of songs from the Lion King to the Beauty and the Beast theme song. I was pretty much in my element sipping on tea, and listening to Disney songs played on a harp. Sold.

So reads the menu for the Langham Auckland high tea celebrating the 25th Anniversary of iconic Kiwi fashion house WORLD. Throughout October fashion meets food in this Tiffin High Tea at The Langham Auckland. Now I have not so much a sweet tooth as an entire sweet mouth but I decided to start from the bottom of our overflowing stand on the colourful savouries. With beetroot macaroons with goat cheese, spinach profiteroles there are a profusion of colours and flavours but for the two of us the standout was the leek tart which we could have spent the rest of the afternoon eating.

I struggled to choose an appropriate rating for Palm Court as my last visit for high tea was a complete disaster, but the other couple of visits were wonderful experiences. The high tea serving has always been delicious, interesting combinations that you'd expect from an establishment of this calibre, buttery melt in you mouth light pastry and a wide range of tea choices. You can definitely feel like a queen on most visits and never leave hungry.

So why was the last visit a disaster? It was is if it was the waiters first day, in a 2 hour seating, it took 40 minutes to bring the high tea caddies, and that was before they took the first tea order. The serving was so late, some of the party had to take their second tea round in takeaway cups, along with their remaining food items. Never a good look and hopefully just a blip on their impeccable record.

I walk through the lobby and Past Palm Court everyday on my way to work, and thought I would drop by on my lunch break for a lovely cup of coffee, instead of grabbing a takeaway from somewhere else.

What a lovely experience - the staff are incredibly courteous. I ordered a mocha, which was delicious, and came with two complimentary biscuits. The decor is gorgeous - so sophisticated.

I had a wonderful lunch hour, sipping my coffee and doing some personal work. It was just fabulous.

I took my Mum here for afternoon tea for her birthday, as I wanted to give her an experienced she wouldn't forget.
The service was fantastic, however I felt slightly intimidated by some of the employees. Both my mother and I felt pressured into picking tea as one of our two drinks when to be perfectly honest we aren't really tea drinkers, so we felt as though we had wasted one of them.
The setting for the afternoon was beautiful and the chair and table made you feel like royalty, however it was quite cold in there after a while.
Some of the food was very nice, while some of the food was interesting to say the least. But for what looks like so little food it definitely fills you up.
If you are looking for a high tea experience I would definitely recommend the Langham, just remember your coat.

I have had a few high teas in my time and have often come away not really full up, there was no way this was going to happen here. When I found out the session times I opted for the 11.30am- 2pm Tiffin Tea time. This seemed to be the most logical as it covered lunch and then meant I could still have dinner later.

I met a girlfriend at the hotel for a catch up and we both wore pretty dresses. We were seated in our lovely comfortable chairs and given the tea menu. We both went for the same iced tea ( can't remember which, was red) and enjoyed it. Our triple layer high tea tray arrived and we were talked through the food. We did as told and started at the bottom and slowly made our way towards the top.

After the middle tier was finished we were served scones with clotted cream. The cream was rather on the runny side and had no crust, I am a clotted cream fan and was slightly disappointed. It all tasted good.

After the scones we moved on to the sweet morsels and a second iced tea. We both went for a mint tea with liquorice bark, this was refreshing against all the sweet.

We finished the sweet and were offered more cake. We were given a sample of each type available, yes, more sweet. I wasn't complaining.

To sum up, don't have breakfast, don't plan lunch-be prepared to eat and eat. I thought that 2 1/2 hours was a long time to fill, no it isn't when conquering a mound of Tiffin Tea.
This is the best High Tea I have had.

Ambience - is the main reason that brought us here. I wanted my house's drawing room to look like this, but for that I will have to draw like Picasso. A magnificent chandelier graces the central part of the ceiling, a well-appointed huge liquor repository occupies a glinting multi-hued wall at the back, while snugly set tables and chairs are laid out in this luxurious space. It is a place mainly suited for drinks and chat so the tables assume petite dimensions so as to not create a gulf between the patrons (of the same group) but the inter-table distance should have been wider. All said,it is a superb place to which you may bring your sweetheart, and it also suited towards a business meeting particularly if your trading partner is reminiscent of Demi Moore from 'Disclosure'.

Tea - The menu had about 20 or so varieties of tea some of which were so select that the Auckland Langham was the only hotel in the world that procured these varieties from their exclusive makers. Sri Lankan Tea dominates in NZ, but this menu also sported the Darjeeling variety and exotic versions like one scented with orange blossoms and whatnot. There were three of us, and we were at fault in not choosing different pots of tea and taking turns in having at least a cup of each. All of us ended up having the same Langham Special blend - it had a mild flavour, thus lending itself to multiple cups of absent-minded quaffing and was well suited to lubricating long leisurely chats. Its qualities do not admirably sustain on the addition of milk or sugar.

Food - The snacks were brought and presented to us in a 3-tier Curate stand. The 1st level carried what would prove to be the high-point of my high tea - freshly baked date scones. Countless such scones all over the country are like forgettable dates but this one was a affair to remember. Soft, warm and yielding like a dream to the bite, with the crust providing just a polite hint of textural contrast, and delicately scented with the sweet of the desert, it beat out the actual deserts in providing.bang for buck. Anointing them with smoothly dulcet cream (which was provided) enhanced their enticement.

Salmon Cone -(inspired by Thomas Keller?) A wafer cone -the veg version enclosed hummus- was filled with salmon pate, crowned with glinting caviar. It looks better than it performs. I felt that this smooth salmon pate is texturally not a good idea, and the whole thing came across as fish-flavoured baby food served in a cone.

The second tier carried the "savouries" and green tea macaroons. The flavour of finger sandwiches, like an ascetic butler, communicated only in whispers and for variety, a small jar carried little paddles of bacon that covered brunoised slaw.

The top tray carried some intensely flavoured sweets, some of which were smartly hedged with cheese slices to give a dual richness. Also appealing was a shot glass of silky banana custard topped with pistachio cream.

Service - is often conspicuous by its absence, and it frequently makes a silent case to be awarded a "Fail". When the staff would come to the table, they did a reasonable job of acting worthy of the place. But waiting aeons and repeated craning of my neck to catch their attention, in order to ask for sugar (there is no other way to put it) was in vain. Giving tips is not a strong cultural practice in NZ, but if it was, they should give me tips for being so vigilant in monitoring the staff. This joint is pitched on the The Langham's website as the perfect meeting place, and the staff might say to their defence that they are only trying to ensure privacy, but I'd say that both in relationships and in restaurant service there is such a thing as giving too much space (and time).

The snacks are replenished on request. Tariffs - $ 45 per person for the pot of tea complete with the array of nibbles.

Will I go again to this place? You betcha! (probably I will somehow finagle and bring along my own butler) It is said that form is temporary, class is permanent. In The Winery's case, I will be generous enough to say that the fleeting 'form' may apply to their truant service, and be perfectly objective in conceding that permanent 'class' refers to their splendid ambience.

We visited The Winery for Afternoon Tea recently. We were craving an afternoon of indulgence and good food to help ease away some of the winter blues, and we definitely got just that!

Food and service were brilliant and the whole experience was luxurious and lovely. My only criticism is that the tables were a bit close together, which made the whole place feel cramped, especially given the size of their high backed arm chairs.

Other than that, it was a brilliant experience. A little bit pricey at $35 per head, so I wouldn't partake of it every weekend, but it was worth every penny and I will definitely be back again!

Booked mothers day high tea and it wasn't disappointing. Between five of us we were all presented champagne and 3 plates between us. The waitress was just lovely. She explained every morsel to us and nothing was too much bother for her. As soon as our tea pots were empty, she whisked them away to replace them. She knew our preferences each time, only downside was the tea was on the weak side. The food was delicious but perhaps the scones could be smaller. The menu was put together for Mothers day. My Mother in law was thoroughly delighted, we will definitely be back next year.

Great atmosphere and excellent service. Friendly, helpful staff. However, too many sweet treats and not enough hot savouries. (Only received one small warm pinwheel) We would have appreciated a couple of hot meat savouries each. Beautifully constructed cakes, and excellent scones.

The high tea here is such a fun day out. Not only is the food delicious and ambiance perfectly curated but the service is fantastic too. I was very well catered too with a gluten free high tea. On booking you can specify and allergies you have - they have an extensive list. My waiter confirmed when I arrived that I was coeliac. They also confirmed the food was prepared coeliac every time they placed food on the table, a small but comforting touch which not many other places offer. When you walk in, you're greeted and then seated at a table which has already been pre set for you to dine at. Your waiter will leave you to read over the menu before coming back and answering any of your questions. They will then bring your high tea over. Once you've finished the savoury section they'll serve your scones and also sort out your tea. There's an extensive tea menu which means you can find something to fit your tastes. Then, you'll be left to enjoy the rest of your food. Despite it all being small portions, most of the tables I observed did takeaway a box with remaining treats in it. Highly recommended whether it's just you or if it's a larger group to celebrate something.

We had a lovely experience at the Cordis for High Tea. This was a birthday treat and it certainly was a treat. Maybe the tea we ordered was a little weak however, everything else was great. Couldn't fault the service, it was excellent. Thank you

Fabulous experience, way above expectations. The food was excellent, a tip, leave room for the scones at the end. The staff were attentive, helpful and went above and beyond to make this really special. Thank you so much
