A great little cafe. Managed to nab a table outside in the morning sun with a friend. The waitress was super friendly and took our coffee order leaving us time to peruse the interesting menu. The coffee was Kokako, a favourite and made perfectly. I had the European breakfast which was superb. Eggs, cheese, croissant, dutch cake. A great mix of flavours. My friend had the Hash Bene with their own smoked salmon which she really enjoyed. Nice to see an inviting, cosy cafe at the Ponsonby end of Jervois Rd. Will be going back soon.
Great service, staff really on to it and making the Café a warm welcoming environment. Lovely fresh food an coffee as well 🙂
When your in make sure to order their delicious hash bene, a potato rosti with salmon, any way eggs and a selection of salmon, bacon or mushrooms.
My favourite Cafe so far. HOT Kokako coffee, yummy kai ( with coffee grinds for my CompostGarden in compostable bags ) I love the clean stylish & light decor, it's romantic & trendy with a beautiful location, bright caring staff, has flower shops, galleries & th historical buildings make it very relaxing & welcoming / a lot like a village feeling, my favourite!
Beatrix cafe in Herne Bay is lovely and sunny with tables on the footpath in the sun. The tables are pretty with fresh flowers and cutlery and napkins in jars on the table.
We got a warm welcome from Mariette and immediately received a jug of water and the menu, plus could see a range fresh enticing cabinet food.
There were so many delicious options it was very hard to choose. I went for the European Breakfast with the most delish soft flaky croissant, dutch cheese, a generous slice of ham and egg cooked as I like it (Scrambled) and Dutch Honey cake and a serving of 3 types of fresh fruit. I enjoyed every mouthful.
My companion had eggs on a spicy chickpea tomato dish and said it was also delicious and ate every morsel.
Followed by organic Kokako coffees, we enjoyed watching the busy-ness of Jervois Rd foot traffic passing by and browsing lovely magazines while relaxing at Beatrix.
The smart eclectic interior design and fresh colours with fresh flowers everywhere created a lovely ambience. We'll be back and highly recommend to others.
Just go there now!
We stopped by and enjoyed the food and sun on Queens Birthday weekend - had only been open about a week. Lovely ambience, we appreciated the fresh new look and the welcoming service from the new owner. Especially loved the avo and broad bean smash, the perfect rostis, and a new take on the blueberry and orange "pan cake". A single shot Kokako coffee did it for me. Next time I'm coming back for the Eastern Eggs!
I Popped into this new venue in Herne bay and was struck by the thoughtful decor from the fresh bouquets of flowers to the adult colouring books available for those wishing to unwind. I Loved the fresh new look and was immediately made to feel at home by the friendly and accommodating staff. I'm fussy when it comes to coffee but I thoroughly enjoyed my usual style cuppa with a warm, smooth, nutty flavour. I'll definitely be back but this time for lunch!!
After reading a couple of good reviews online I decided to drop by and check out it for Sunday brunch.
First impressions were warm and inviting, greeted by friendly staff straight away and able to order at the table - call me lazy but I really liked being able to sit down, order and pay at the end, rather than the running up to counter to order carry on.
I had the Beatrix big brunch which I really enjoyed. They obviously take some care in sourcing good ingredients and preparation as the bacon and sausages definitely tasted a notch up from your normal. I also spied some pretty amazing looking pancakes at another table.
I have a soft spot for Kokako coffee so that had me sold straight away on the coffee front.
Will definitely be back, fun place that seems to really care about food and service.
We accidentally came across this cute little cafe and wow. The food was light years above a lot of other places. I had the European breakfast and it was like I had been transformed back to Italy, my fiancé had the big breakfast and that was also awesome. The size was perfect, we came away full but not feeling gross. Will definitely be back.
