Awesome Chinese place that is clean and consistent with their dishes. They do combination meats on rice as well as classic guangzhong influenced dishes. Great for big gatherings or a quick lunch.

Went to Hongās Kitchen tonight for a birthday dinner! Food was delicious. Portions are huge! Great value for money. Roast pork and squid were our faves off the menu! We will be back!!
This is my absolute favourite authentic chinese restaurant. The Peking Duck is amazing, the spicy prawns and pork belly are my other favourites. The staff are all so friendly and its such good value for money. Its great when you have a large group and all share meals.
My husband and I frequently go to Hongs. We have travelled around the whole world and feel Hongs is even better than the many chinese restaurants we have been to. The prawns and sweet and sour chicken are exceptional and the service is great. It is definitely one of our favourites.
We have heard about Hongs for a long time so tonight we ordered takeaways. Blown away by the service that was above and beyond and the food was absolutely delicious. The best BBQ pork! We will definitely be back to dine in next time :)
The food here was very nice. Plates are expensive but very large. Be careful not to over order like we did. Slightly upper class Chinese cuisine. 7/10

This place is really busy Luckily we have booked a table for 6.
The format of the restaurant is not big but one round table can accommodate at least 10 people.

Definitely a family favourite. Great thing about this place is that the portion sizes are unreal. Would recommend the roast duck, a side of vegetables with some rice.
One of my familyās go to spot for not just Chinese food but for dinner in general. Itās a little pricy but the portion size is pretty big. Also extremely flavourful and did I mention the portion size?
I dont have a lot of experience with Chinese food but I was really impressed with the flavours and portion sizes. Prices are a bit high but considering the portion sizes are very generous I think you get your moneys worth. Based on the food I would love to go back and experience more of the menu! Place looks small from the outside but is actually very spacious inside.

This is our favourite chinese restaurant. Service is always friendly and very sufficient. Our meals came out within 10minutes after ordering, and we always order at least 5 dishes.
Portions are massive! so this is the perfect place to go to with big groups, youād have a hard time finishing off the dishes for smaller groups.
All dishes tastes pretty authentic. Would recommend anything from the menu, really, especially the salt pepper squid. Sizzling lamb is also done to perfection, soft & tender. The duck meaty & soft, without much fat.

Hong's Kitchen is situated in a pretty strategic place, and there's ample parking around.

We had the Roasted Pork, Fried Squid, Sizzling Beef, Clay pot Eggplant and Peking Duck (2 courses)... All were good. Can't decide which was my favourite.

This is our second visit. We are very happy with the food and service. Their complimentary soup is a killer. All of their food is very nice and tasty. And their portions are very generous, so if you are not a big eater, you should definitely consider sharing your meal with someone else. Staff are very friendly and concise with your orders.
My family is very picky about Chinese food, especially being chinese myself so when they approved Hongās Kitchen I knew we were at a good place. The dish sizes are huge with a very good pricing, their Peking duck is also very nice and large. Food is super filling with wonderful customer service. You know they donāt skimp on ingredients here for you, everything is worth the money.
I recently discovered this place and wow I am so happy I did! Amazing food and the portions are insane! One meal could feed four people. Itās very tight with space though so I wouldnāt recommend this place to a person with a stroller or wheelchair as you couldnāt get anywhere without having to move tables.

The location is good since it is located next the Events cinemas. You can have your meal here with your friends or family before or after you see the movies. The customer service is good. There are many options here in their menu. Also the noodles they use is really tasty.

The best Chinese restaurant I've been to in awhile. We went here for a birthday dinner and Cara was an exceptional waitress, no request was too much for her inspite of how busy the restaurant was at dinner time. We requested, chilli sauce and to ensure that the combination rice didn't include beef. She made things happen and was attentive. Would go here again! Not just because of excellent service, the food was delicious!! Large portions but each bite was flavoursome! Just thinking about last night's dinner makes me want to crave it. Thank you Hong's kitchen for such an awesome night!

Its Hong like Donkey Kong š Massive portions, cooked well, friendly service and clean premises. Will dine regularly. I recommend the salt and pepper ribs and sweet and sour fish fillets. But whatever you like Im sure you will find it. Dont order too much because the size is insane. Enjoy š
I have lived out west for two years now and always gone pass this restaurant because it doesn't look much to the world from the outside. Went in the other day and got pleasantly surprised about the size and the atmosphere of the restaurant. Little bit "scruffy old Chinese" shop but still way better than what I thought. Food was great! Big tasty portions and by far the best Asian I have had in a while. Service was OK. I understand that with only tree girls on the floor on a public holiday night and a packed restaurant, service may be slow. Would love to go back.
One of the best Chinese restaurants out West. We've been there about 6-8 times. Pretty consistent and authentic. Huge servings so do note this when ordering. The noodles dishes are very good. Also tried Peking duck and various dishes. Always full though, seems like more people know about them these days.

We received complimentary roast pork which was the sweetest thing. Everything tastes fine, duck was crispy, very oily as per usual, the soup was ok, didn't have much flavor, the beans and scallop stir fry was a bit bland, really was expecting more from that dish. The sizzling beef was pleasant, a bit intense on the pepper though but that goes with many other restaurants. One thing we did notice was that the dishes were rather small, for the prize that we were paying we didn't expect so little... Wouldn't be jumping up and down to go back anytime soon, but still wouldn't mind :) a great atmosphere nonetheless

I was recommended to eat here by a friend, it's unexpected treasure find that I would come back to again and again. The best way to describe it is high quality Chinese food. It's all the same dishes you'll find in a normal Chinese restaurant but it's of a really high standard. My partner and I had the squid, spring rolls, crispy pork on rice and combination egg noodles. The first three were just amazing, the food tasted fresh and flavoursome! The combination noodles was average in comparison. It's more expensive than normal places but still reasonable and you leave feeling full and happy. Huge portions as well, I'd recommend sharing 1-2 dishes.

My family and I were delighted to have discovered this place since our move to Westgate! We were craving Canton cuisine which we were regulars of in Avondale and when we found out there was one here, we decided to book a table straight away.
As expected, food was amazing and in large portions. We ordered about 5 dishes for a family of 7.
I would definitely recommend the special egg tofu and the braised pork belly and taro!
Service was above average for Chinese restaurants which is always a good thing. Waitresses despite not being fluent in English, still made attempts to communicate and make friendly small talks with us.
Pricing is well thought out, quite cheap for the portions you get.

Came in to dine. Just had to let you know, most amazing peking duck in Auckland. Really cheap too. So crispy and no foul duck smell. Very tasty and not too overpowered. Generous amount of steamed wraps too. Another table next to us ordered 5 whole peking ducks. That's how good it was. Must try!

Really love the new dinner menu. They have an awesome new seafood and sushi selection. and for around $30+ all you can eat that's really good especially having salmon and oysters on the menu. I really love the Banana pudding and the won ton soup. all the food is really good I have been dining here for a while now and I really like the new changes. The people that work there are really nice too always say thank you and bye when u leave.

Chinese eatery located in small "strip mall". Huge portions that almost guarantee take home leftovers. Eggplant hotpot was delicious as was the seafood with deep fried noodles. Food arrived promptly but service was just ok. Plenty of seating in an aging restaurant.
One of those great local spots you end up discovering. Probably the best value for money for a restaurant Iāve been to in Auckland. The portions were HUGE, which gave us enough extras to take home and have dinner with. I would recommend the crispy pork belly - one of the better pork bellies Iāve had. And Iām super picky with pork belly!!
Donāt come here if youāre looking for great service or a quiet atmosphere - the waitresses seemed disinterested and not terribly friendly - but the food arrived quickly.

Awesome lumch time value meals. Large servings!!!! Get in early befor they get too busy, otherwise there could be a bit if wait time. Tasty menu and values for money. Open 7 days a week, handy location with plenty parking spaces in front.
