We order Pani Puri Mixed veg, Garlic Roasted Dosa with Cheese and Jeera Rice. Interestingly, this restaurant serves pasta and Chinese too. It wasn't surprising to see Hakka Noodle on the menu, because I know from documentary that in Kolkata, Mumbai and Calcutta there are Chinese immigrants during the British colonial period. I think this is the most closed to authentic India cuisine. I love the coriander vinegarette and coconut salsa, they go well with all the dishes! Love the Jeera Rice! But the dosa is a bit salty and not sure if I tasted fermented rice batter flavour. I prefer the soft version of Dosa we often take in Malaysia.
Services were good, and I got a breakdown item receipt! I don't like the Mixed Veg curry, but my friend does just because it is more like Kiwi curry.
Food is 10/10 very consistent even when restaurant is peak busy. Service is always good by all staff specially Satya who is always very friendly Also Amar who is owner of this place is very nice person as he maintained good food business after change of ownership. Food heaven for vegetarians 👍👌😊
You walk in, sit down, they give you the menu, a docket and a pencil to write down your food order and then you hand it back. I've never placed my order like this before so it was different but it was fun. As a meat eater, I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the samosa chaat and palak paneer was. Anyone who says that meat curries taste better than vegetarian curries are lying. This is my go-to restaurant for palak paneer, I don't go anywhere else. If you're a meat eater like me and you want to experiment with flavourful Indian vegetarian food, order a mild samosa chaat or a mild palak paneer - they're both delicious and filling.
Good south Indian and Chinese dishes. Good service too.Tried the mexi roll dosa and gobi manchurian...yummy loved it.
Good turn around in the last 2 months. Authentic south Indian dosas. Friendly staff and really nice food. Loved it. I believe that at present this place serves the best dosas in Auckland.

Starting with the ambience , it was beautiful.. food service was quick n friendly staff.. we had ordered masala n Mysore masala dosa.. the dosa was very crispy n masala was perfect.. filter coffee was too good.. 😍👍

What a find. The extensive menu is totally vegetarian with many vegan and some Jain (no onions). The best Samosa I have had in a long time. All the food came within a very short time. The servings were large. All were moderately priced, and a take home option was offered. I am definitely back

After a long while, I truly experienced the Indo Chinese flavor fusion with south Indian flavors in Auckland. We ordered paneer crispy dosa, veg schezwan noodles and paneer salad soda. We actually over ate because all the dishes were scrumptious.
The place was quite full and the staff was friendly, though we didn't have an idea that we had to order on the counter ourselves. The service was quicker than expected and quantity was good.Really enjoyed food!
A friend brought me here for their masala dosa and I must say I really enjoyed it. I don't know how authentic it is or if their interpretation of the dish is right but I definitely liked what I had in front of me. My mate is from India and he finished his, in saying that he's a very nice guy but he never complained about the dish to me. Service and ambience are rather standard.
We enjoyed our time at Dosa Plaza .We ordered masala dosa, menduwada, sada dosa ,Mexi roll dosa with cheese , paneer tikka and Mango and Rose flavour kulfi. The best we loved and did a repeat order was the mendu wada very flavourful also the Maxi roll dosa was nice, crispy and tasty. But would recommend all to tast their kulfi too good. It has a big dinning area also the service is good. Sambhar and chutneys they served were very fresh and we all enjoyed it. Will surely visit again😊
Had masala dosa which was good. Sambhar was too less. The dosa was crisp which you often do not get in Auckland.

Service - The best, the staff are kind and fast... The service doesn’t argue. They never interrupt.
They will always listen and then start talking. If they have long lines they will let you settle down at a table so you don’t have to wait so long, you can order from there on.
Dine In - The Masala dosa was outstanding but the paneer sizzle is Magnificent

The restaurant is refurbished. Great ambience, Friendly customer service. EXCELLENT food! Perfectly well priced for quantity. Paneer sizzler is a must have. Serve can feed 2 large eaters! highly recommended.

They really need to change the pictures on Zomato. They have refurbished. Their selection of food is just awesome!! one of my personal favorites in Auckland. I would love to eat here every night! They take their time to bring your food, so dont be a in a rush - it just means they make your food from scratch, with fresh sauce. My fav dish to eat is the vegetarian sizzler or even the schizuwan sizzler (its got some heat!). You HAVE to go here at least once!

Been there in this weekend with 3 of my friends. Tried their different items american chopsey dosa. It was spicy and good. After that tried their big sized chole bhature snd masala dosa. Became a big fan of these items.
Huge variety of interesting Dosaz you'll get here. We normally come here for Shezwan sizzlers, different types of Dosaz or simply Idlis.
Everything tastes good but today I realised their food and hygiene rating is a 'B' which normally is a turn down for me.
Dosa Plaza has potential of being one of the most interesting eats in Auckland but somehow they don't seem to have that ambition.
Will I come back here - No if the rating stays the same.
today i was in this outlet with my friends and we specially went there for having sizzlers..so we had ordered schezewan sizzlers and triple schezewan combo sizzlers both of these were really good and was in enough quantity..
after this we had ordered gulab jamun, that was the disappointment coz gulab jamuns were too much sweet..all n all good
I had just picked my mate up from the airport and we were driving down Dominion Rd. She was filling me in on her life when I suddenly interrupted her with "OMG DOSAS!" I quickly did a U-turn and decided this was where we were having dinner. Luckily for me my bestie is also a Dosa fan so we ordered one each with coconut chutney and dahl soup. The mango lassis are excellent! This place is a great cheap eat. Yeah you have to order at the counter, but so what!? The food is miles above McD's!!!
My mate and I couldn't help but smile at the Dosa pics that adorn the walls. Keep an eye out for 'Dr D' because once you see it!!!

I loved this place. Very surprised with the low rating. I have been wanting to have a proper dosa with chutney and was nearly giving up hope until I tried this place. Really good traditional dosas. Will definitely be going back.
I got for the more traditionally punjabi offerings, rather than the fusion cuisine or 'american' or 'chinese' offerings. They are tasty, affordable, pretty quick to eat and usually quick to hit the table. Definitely not a fancy place. Very simple, has been clean and good service when I've been there (but this hasnt been peak times). Easy, convenient food, with pretty consistent taste.

The food took too long to come. The menu had plenty of variety. The food was good however i think the food may have been too spicy. The place has potential, however may need some tweaking. Atmosphere for example. Overall it was a good experience.
The food was great but we had to go and order but they should come over to us at tables and take order for the food. But otherwise is a good food to eat.
I have lived in South India and this restaurant is the first good South Indian restaurant in New Zealand. The food is excellent, authentic South Indian food, brings back old memories. The vadas and dosas are the best Ive eaten out of India.
It is reasonably priced. The service is getting better - I have read the reviews below, I do agree that some people at the counter may not smile but if you are after the food and not the smile, this is the place. The service was never a problem when we went there, which is now about 7-8 times in the past 3 months.
For those of you who rated the food as poor, you dont know what South Indian food is like, you are probably Fiji Indians with no idea whatsoever what good South Indian food is -- Dosa Plaza is highly recommended, worth a visit.
We are so addicted to this place. Fantastic place. 5 stars. Dosa Plaza has A Gold Food Hygiene Certificate from City Council. I think one must check this grading before eating anywhere. Food quality, variety and Hygiene is at its best. Customer service is good. Over all very good experience. 5 Star again.

Great place, but it's always bustling. I've resorted to takeaways three times due to the crowds. The food is delicious, although the service is slow, which is somewhat understandable considering the crowd. Unfortunately, there's no nearby parking.
The food is delicious and the place is very spacious and has a good ambiance. The food price is reasonable too. Almost all the dishes has authentic Indian taste and spicy(hot).
It'll be great if they work on their service etiquette like service water and glass when new customer comes and giving them menu. You have to do it own your own which is bit disappointing.
This is a vegetarian Indian restaurant. It is making changes to its appearance which I like very much. The food is excellent and the service. My partner starts with the biel puri and I have samosa YUM. I ALWAYS have the choke bature which is a chickpea curry. Very good.
This is an add on my partner and I are still coming here and the food is still good. The only negative is the front door has not been fixed and it is very cold in here in the winter time so I am going to take one star away. Though I cannot change my star rating. Today is 12 July star rating is 4

Yum! We came for the first time because of @dominion_road_food_challenge (on Instagram) who gave it a great review and we’re trying to go to places we’ve never been to on Dom rd. Loved the food! The cauliflower manchurian was our favourite. Really enjoyed our dosas, the naans were crispy and yum. It was all great. The menu was very large and quite overwhelming but since we loved everything, now we can choose all new things next time we go. Would absolutely return. Service was speedy and staff were lovely. Also very happy with the portion sizes and pricing.

My personal favourites are the masala dosa, filter coffee and masala chai.
The place is really huge and the seating is spread out. The place can easily cater to big groups of (50 pax).

Yum food , had the chilli cheese dosa it was yum but needed a filing in there to be even better , the garlic and chilli naan bread was tasty , the vada were yum but filing the coconut sauce was delicious and the dahl was scrummy id defo get something different next time

This biriyani is exotic. vegetarians can enjoy this without any inhibitions. subtle spice and limited oil (unlike in other places), quantity is really generous as is the quality. many would like to take parcels to distant places when flying. packaging is superb retaining the flavour, aroma and warmth as well.
