Reviews Khao San Project

One of the shops on Eden Terrace, across the road from the Mt. Eden, Symond Street Carpark.

The place is smallish but does have a few tables. The walls are brightly painted with Thai pictures. The menu is right behind the counter. They have a range of different dishes and the ones from the chef Special Dishes look intriguing. I went with tofu drunken noodles. The noodle sauce was quite nice and it had a mild bite to it. Nice veges and noodles.

Fairly cheap and really tasty.

This is my go-to-place for lunch (when I do not have time to prepare my food 😅)

For only $10 (during lunch time, 11am-2pm) my cravings for asian food (in this case, Thai food) is satisfied.

Khao San Project has been my food haven since March 2019 😊

Updating my review from a 5* down to a 4*

It’s a shame the size of the $10 lunch special has been cut in half! I’ve recommended Khao San Project to many friends and coworkers because the food is delicious and authentic, just a little disappointed the dishes have been shrunk.

I understand that expenses need to be covered, but I can go to other Thai places and get twice the amount of food for only a few dollars more.

Good thai for its price point. Lunch is great at $10. Two people 30 - $40 for dinner with non-alcoholic drinks. Parking is the only the slight issue that can't be helped based on their location. But there off street parking often enough.

Fresh, flavoursome and reasonably priced! Really happy with this new Thai place in our neighbourhood. The Thai fried rice and cashew nut chicken was full of flavour 😊👍🏽Will be back to try out more dishes!

Went as a group of four, ordered pad kee mao, hoy tod, tom yum hotpot, and rama satay, and the fried pork ribs.

All were tasty! The esan sauce was particularly delicious. The tom yum soup was very very good. Hoy tod was tasty too! But the portion was a little small, so I would order that as a side dish not a main. Service was nice, and they also have thai tea in a can which I want to try next time.

Ordered a Tom Yum soup with Pork to takeaway.
The people were very friendly and the restaurant is nice and clean.
They were very fast and the portions are decent sized!
The soup was super flavourful and would definitely go back.

had whisky duck stirfry and thai fried rice, both are surprisingly good. Love the tastes. The place is neat, it's a bit cold inside during winter.

We stumbled across this gem today the last day before the lockdown and we're very happy that we did. Really tasty, and generous portions for a cheap price and still the interior is really cozy for a cheap restaurant and the people working there was great! Would love to come back. Thank you for the delicious food. /Leonard & Fanny

What a little gem of a place in Eden Terrace. I know there's been a few different places in this area that haven't lasted unfortunately, but I really hope Khao San Project does cause it's amazing!!! Super authentic Thai cuisine, was so difficult picking what to have as everything looked so good!!! I ended up having the Tom Yum Noodle soup and was not disappointed! Will definitely be coming back, and that $10 lunch menu looks legit. Definitely go check this place out!!

Food was really fresh and fast. Good portions and definitely tasty. Could do with out the extremely loud Christian music though. Ruined the atmosphere. Next time, takeaway might be better.

Best new eatery around here. Newly renovated with a lot of heart and soul poured in you can just tell. Food is beyond good. Will definitely return with friends. I wish them every success they deserve.

Been grabbing takeaways from this place since last week. Always nice and hot when I pick it up. Staff are great and food is amazing. At first I wasn’t a fan of pad see ew but this place made me reconsider. 👍
