Omg the custard doughnut. ...... Super yum the best one i tried this year!
Easy parking, good location & the food is awesome with great coffee.
Always great food and very friendly service. Try the berry smoothie its to die for
Love this cafe! Great food and great service!
Delicious food, friendly staff will return 👍😇
I love this cafe the food is awesome and the staff are so friendly would definetly recommend
Has to be the bestest cafe I've ever come across! Will see me more often now.
Their donuts are the bomb
The cafe is lovely, great food and amazing service. However, it would be lovely if you could use glass cups for iced drinks such as iced coffee etc when customer is having it in the cafe. I have noticed you use plastic cups for having iced coffee and plastic straws aswell, perhaps switching to paper straws. other than that, it is a perfect little hidden gem in Flatbush, highly recommend for fast service!
Been there many times and never disappointed. Great weekend brunch spot.
Big breakfast is the highlight. Soft and tasty home made toast, spicy sausages and perfect scrambled eggs. Always 1st option.
The Chicken Katsu and Fish n Chips are crumbled in Japanese way, it is so thin yet super crispy. The ingredients chicken and fish are fresh and yum.
Jap Curry Beef Pie is a hidden treasure and elevate the pie competition to next level.
Have I not mentioned the coffee? Great coffee master here.
Must try.
Amazing Food..,Great Quality Coffee..Professional Customer Service with the best Cinnamon Bun!!!! It's very comfortable and has a homely feel to it. This is our new cafe.
Staff are very friendly, although slightly out of the way, it is a nice retreat with lots of sunshine and fresh air. Food of course is very nice and certainly worth a visit. It won't be your last!
The best cafe in the neighborhood. Eggs are always on point, I mean just look at the scrambled. Awesome coffee as well. Perfect place to have a chill arvo and friendly efficient staff :)
Service, Staff, Variety amazing. Such a gem in Flat Bush. The homemade cakes are Devine and not same as everywhere else. Staff friendly and menu not over the top but very appealing. Will recommend and definitely return especially for the homemade lemon cake.
I've been here once before last year however I think the ownership has changed since. It's a nice local quiet spot. The ambiance is great, it's very relaxed, the waiter is patient and really accommodating.
We ordered some coffes and a Chicken Katsu & Chips. They all came out promptly. The katsu was nice, very crunchy. The chips tasted a bit like takeway style chips which I don't like that much but it was okay. Also had a side salad which was great.
I would definitely visit again to try some other options.
Its the first time i have been to this cafe. This place is gorgeous, such a beautiful peaceful cafe. The decor is stunning and the staff are really friendly. Coffee was awesome and the food was lovely. Pleased this is one of my locals now!
Wow this place is such a hidden gem.
Came here on a beautiful sunny Sunday for some late lunch.
Ordered the classic eggs bene, mocha and my partner ordered the chicken katsu with fries.
Eggs bene without a doubt was absolutely delicious. The hollandaise sauce was superb..exactly what hollandaise should taste like, rich and creamy with the perfect amount of lemon 👌
The katsu chicken was also delicious..really crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I just wish the chips were shoestring but other than that i have no complaints.
The staff here are lovely and the food comes out quite quick. The coffee here is also pretty decent which is always great and i absolutely love the coffee design.
Definitely recommend
slow at cooking basic grilled food, otherwise would be rated higher, but the big breakfast and grilled food are cooked very well and taste good . coffee is decent. pancakes are great. pizzas are great. fruit smoothies are tasty. fries are nice and crisp. waiter gave my kid free marshmellows. very slow at cooking the chicken.prawn salads that should have come out first within 5 minutes we were the only people there.
Always friendly when I drop in to drink great coffee. People serving are always friendly and helpful.
Nice and quiet which is what I like about the place.
This cafe has recently changed hands & its nice to see they have a new menu with some great options for breakfast & lunch.
They have indoor & outdoor seating & service is friendly & efficient with things such as water brought straight to the table. There are items in the cabinet if you don't have time to eat in.
I tried the Muesli with yoghurt & fruit. Very reasonably priced. Fruit was nice & fresh with good flavour not cut up days before & left in juice like some cafes do.
Their cooked meals look great too - well presented
Coffee was well made - strong but not bitter & a decent size.
This neighbourhood cafe is truly a hidden gem! We came here on a Sunday and were able to enjoy a quiet brunch even though most of the tables were occupied. The lady at the counter who took our orders was so friendly. Asked if we live in the area as she hasn't seen us before and how we found out about the place.
I was set on trying the French toast from reading the reviews and it was the best decision ever! So so good and I'll definitely go back again just for that. My bf had the pork belly salad which was a little hard and dry. But we love our coffee.
The menu isn't extensive but the price is very reasonable. What's really good is the service and everyone just seems so smiley. Love it!
Limited choice but lovely staff who are flexible and accommodating. Great service. The sandwiches are fresh and tasty and chef always willing to make me a chicken one if not available.
We came a few weeks ago to find the cafe closed for renovations. As today was a sunny winter's day we decided to try again. The cafe is has a fresh, modern feel with lots of glass letting in the sun. There's an outdoor space with a few tables as well as loads of parking available. The menu is small and offers standard fare.
I was tempted to try the Japanese style fish and chips but wasn't hungry enough so went for chips and aioli. The aioli was very garlicky-delicious and the chips were crisp and more-ish.
My daughter was delighted with her mochaccino which came with a panda design on top and my latte was good too. I went for a second coffee, a long black with a side of steamed milk which was especially good.
We also had a slice of carrot cake and a small slice of lemon-lime cheesecake which was divine. The pricing of the cakes was very affordable and the smaller serving size is attractive to those wanting a few bites of something sweet without breaking the bank.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Decided to brunch here and I'm very pleased to have found this place!
We ordered a mocha, French toast with Bacon, and a smoked salmon and egg dish (sorry can't remember the full name haha)
Hands down the best French toast I've had! I was slightly surprised when I saw my dish, I wasn't expecting the type of bread on my plate but man was it good! I appreciate the coconut pieces throughout the bread and the perfect amount of maple syrup and banana and of course BACON! 😍 each component of the plate worked beautifully together, just the right amount of sweetness and I highly highly recommend!
The smoked salmon and egg was really good too, simple and delicious! The salmon was fresh and eggs cook perfectly. The bread was good too, they really know they're stuff!
A table next to us ordered some fish and chips and it was a very hearty serving, and smelt absolutely divine. . Will be back to try the fish and chips!
Clean facility, not too busy. In a unique location, nice and quite, plenty of car parking and seating available. Friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommend and will be back when I'm craving breakfast food! I've found my new breakfast spot hehe
Like the atmosphere of the place, so simple and relaxed. Presentation of the food is great, but I must say the food itself was average. Cross cut fries were way too oily, I do understand they are deep fried, but oil taste was just too dominant. Sausages in the kid's meal were some cheap variety and tasted pretty bad.
Would come back to try other menu items, mostly because the location is quite nice and would love to find something to our taste.
My friend and I decided to try out this cafe one morning as we had heard good things about it and well, there isn’t too many options in this area and we were hoping for something we could come back to.
Its quite easy to find and decor is very modern and simple. We were seated and had a quick browse through the menu - menu is standard with little slight variations. I had the smoked bacon, french toast fitters with banana puree with maple and bourbon syrup and my friend had the sautéed mushroom, cashew, avocado and semi dried tomato on toasted malt rye bread and 2x coffees.
My ‘fritters’ were average at best. The batter was extremely dry and had a huge amount of desiccated coconut which wasn’t stated on the menu. The texture was unappealing and the bacon tasted like cheap shoulder/middle cut bacon which I wasn’t too fond of. An unsuccessful attempt at improving an original dish. My soy latte was great though.
My friends option on the other hand was very good. She opt’d for bacon to be added (which they forgot), and all in all the flavours went well together. I absolutely loved the addition of cashew nuts in the mix. Very yum!
Service was average at best - simple requests seemed a little too much to ask. I probably wouldn’t rush back - unless it was for takeaway coffees.
One if my favourite cafe in east auckland, delicious gormet food & friendly service. Coffee is a amazing and dessert cabinet changes every time I go there.
I came here today for Mother's Day with my family and I have to say I'm fairy impressed. As expected it was quite busy and we were able to grab a seat in almost no time at all!
We ordered the bacon and eggs, mushrooms on rye bread, bubble and squeak, and the superfood museli. My museli was a generous size and I was able to get almond milk with it - a shame there was no coconut yoghurt option for completely dairy free. My mum enjoyed her bubble and squeak. I had a taste of the mushrooms and they were delicious! I imagine a heavy meal all to yourself, due to the creaminess of the sauce. The eggs and bacon were apparently your standard.
I only have a couple of downsides: the bacon they used seemed like a cheaper brand, not your usual delicious streaky bacon.. Or middle for that matter. And secondly my chai latte was far too sweet and was not hot enough.. So it didn't make for a very nice drink.
It's not the most modern menu as you would find in central suburbs, but still serves good hearty food. It's worth a visit if your stuck for somewhere to go for breaky in East Auckland on a Sunday morning.
My new regular - friendly staff, great coffee. Have had the french toast dish 4 times now because it is just so damn good and a stel for only $14. Look forward to see how well this place does in the future.
Visited this cafe back in November and had an excellent meal!! I was so shocked as thought it would be an average coffee and muffin cafe as in a block of shops in a residential area. But I was AMAZED in how excellent this little place was. Will be returning when I'm around the flat bush area and would drive to this place instead of cafes in east tamaki.
This is our favorite cafe in Auckland. Excellent value for money, quality food, great service and staff.
Presentation of food is great with menu changing daily. Highly recommended for whole family.
Just brilliant. The service the coffee the food. Can't fault it. Best kept secret.
Really enjoyed our lunch here today, I had a pulled pork roll which was very tasty and my friend had a bacon croissant/roll which he said was great, nice coffee and pleasant owner happy to chat - an oasis in a newish residential suburb, check it out, I'll certainly be back.
In a word.... AWESOME. The head chef has some fantastic ideas from the french toast fritters to little gastomomic pearls on the deserts that pop delightful flavours. Simons muffins are also wonderful. Light and always with a flavour burst in the middle. Fantastic breakfast spot. Great service. Awesome staff. The best cafe out east.
Absolutely love this cafe the food is amazing and atmosphere gives off a warm friendly vibe. Staff are also an added bonus with how welcoming and friendly they are, especially the chef! She is a boss in the kitchen 10/10 highly recommend her food! Always leave satisfied.
Recommended by my sister, so the family had lunch. Love the curly fries and the katsura chicken was just right. And the pancakes was on point really fluffy. Rest of the family enjoyed their food as well. Thank you 👍👍👍
Came here from breakfast on a Sunday 10am.
Got a park outside & a nice table inside with the warm sun on our backs. We ordered mixed berry smoothie & a green smoothie, we agreed both delicious! We also had eggs benedict with bacon, one of the best benedicts I've had! Great Cafe with a good flow of coffee lovers.
Have come here a few times with hubby. Absolutely love their lime cheesecakes, and the pancakes are yummy too. Good atmosphere and the place is quite buzzy at times. However our most recent time, my husband ordered a chicken burger which cost $22 and didn’t come with any chips and whilst it was tasty, it was just bigger than a slider size and I don’t think it was good value for money.
Good food and friendly staff. It’s a nice, clean and comfortable place to hang out.
I ordered the Egg's Benedict, Basque burnt cheesecake and Ice coffee. They were all delicious to me.
Chicken katsu&chips and pancakes are our favourite dishes 😍💞😋 definitely recommend 👍👍👍
Been visiting Texture these days as we have changed our coffee venue to Texture. It's a beautiful place run by beautiful people who are welcoming and kind, especially to my new Pup Pepper. Great prices, 1st class service and hospitality. See you there 😊
Coffee
I enjoyed their coffee. The Mocha was smooth and frothy.
Food
The eggs were little runny
Food prices
Food prices are very competitive
Staff and Ambience
It was an average experience.
Overall
Good for a meeting
While pricing may be bit high, the food that I had on this occasion was delicious. The cooking style is a homely professional style. For example, the confectioner's custard is real. Not commercially purchased ready made. Nice
While many will like it, and I did her savoury scones are made with lemonade. Not my first choice but still nice. The texture was perfect. Highly recommend them.
I finally found great coffee within the area! The food is absolutely delicious and fresh. The staff are friendly and warm. I highly recommend and will be visiting on the frequently.
