Guinness pint $11 and that's happy hour prices. Very quiet for 3pm on a Friday, ESPN sport on the TV on the wall. Souroundings are average - pub style, dark and dingey.
Probably one of the best little bars in Auckland. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere with very reasonably priced drinks. What else could you ask for. A lot of great nights here and hopefully more to come.
I stumbled across this place by accident and boy, am I glad I did. I've been back 3 days in a row to work my way through the menu. First off, the potato-based dishes, a mainstay of any reputable Irish bar. Without a doubt, the thick cut fries amd wedges were in a class of their own. I'd heard through the grapevine that they only use spuds from the east Galway townland of Ahascragh, handcut by the great Jackie O'Hara himself ( or his younger brother Dennis if Jackie is feeling 'under the weather'). Having tasted these tantalising tuber morsels for myself, I can only assume that the rumours are true. Each slice of potato explodes in the mouth, the delicate and unmistakable taste of Connaught starch covers the mouth in a velvety coat. Matched with the 'fish of the day', and you are transported back to the pier in Kinsale where Dan O'Sullivan sells Atlantic cod straight off the boat. The samosas are the best this side of Delhi, with a freshness and bite to rival anything on the subcontinent. The only let down was the tomato sauce. I'm a fan of the Andalusian tomato variety and it's quite obvious that The Fiddler prefers those from The Levant....the difference is in the tanginess. Such a shame. All in all though, this place is not to be missed. I think they have a liquor licence too but can't confirm.
Live on saturday with footshooterofficial🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼 Great live thanks you
Very nice bar with a super lovely german manager.
They have live music from ca. 8pm til midnight.
Beer costs around 8 till 10$, thats a little bit more compared to other locations in that area, but you get pretty good beer.
In summer it gets crowded a lot, so be there early.
Outstanding staff and happy hour 4-7. Beer and wine specials for Happy hour. Great location in the CBD. Highly recommend a stop here.
Friendly place with great beer!
Cozy little place with a pool table and nice outside balcony upstairs. Beers are pretty cheap and tasty.
Great Irish bar with very friendly staff
Only had drinks but really enjoyed the atmosphere
Cozy bar with friendly service. Pool table upstairs with an outside area. Live band, and noisy, happy customers! Seems a popular hangout. Happy to return.
