Fresh, flavourful, lots of options and well priced. Like nothing I have ever eaten before but in a good way. Mine with a light corn aprepa shell, chicken, pulled pork, chorizo, cheese and greens along with a bit of chilli and also garlic yoghurt suace was yummy as was my wife's egg one. We will be back - many times I think! Oh - and also a really friendly team.

so so so delicious! the colourful wraps are a nice addition, but the pulled beef is my favourite, so yummy and tender with great flavour! great portions too the whole fam loved it

First time trying this type of cuisine and I absolutely love it!
It’s not as heavy as a burger but you still have the cheese, meat and veg. Also it’s a lot more flavoursome cause they use herbs and also don’t forget to use the condiments! They’re generous enough to have aioli and Chimichurri on the table!!
Their staff were kinda enough to take us though the menu and give us table service which I wasn’t expecting since it’s kinda like a open space area but she was very lovely and helped us understand what they had to offer:)

Wow!! ¡Que delicia! I loved this place!!!! I’m so glad to have somewhere to eat beautiful Latin American food at a reasonable price. You can tell that the owners really put a lot of love and passion into this restaurant. The only suggestion I would have would be to maybe have a combo option where you can add a small side alongside an arepa? Because the sides are more for sharing. Besides that, everything was amazing! I will most certainly be back. Muchas Gracias 💛💛😊

We tried the tostones, tequeños, pabellon arepa, chicken arepa as well as a few drinks including cocoda, passion fruit frappe and papelon. Everything was very flavorful and well prepared.
Can’t wait to go again and try more arepas and items off the menu.
We had a halloumi arepa and a steak one. Both were delicious. Bread was yum, fillings were high quality and it was a hearty portion. Service excellent. I think they were a bit too pricy for me to return, but I think they're carving out a niche in the Latinx market (almost everyone around us was from the continent).
Really enjoyed my meal! I got the Reina (chicken, avo and mayo) on the green arepa which was delicious! Little bit pricey at $17 but it was really good and fast service!

So pretty much every time me and my wife have a date night we end up in Ponsonby at Sizzling Chorizo...however today we cheated on them with Olas Atepas and it might just be our new go to spot!
Firstly from the second we sat down the service was friendly, smiley and spot on
It's all open plan so everything is cooked before your eyes
I ordered the Rumbera and my Wife ordered the Domino , both served in the Beetroot inspired Arepas. Both were so damn tasty!! And to top if off they are Gluten and dairy free.
We also grabbed a portion of Cassavo fries, served with Mojo Mayonnaise...I dont think I will ever eat aioli again

Had the arepa burger with fries and it was very yummy! It was very saucy and immediately broke apart into several pieces but it was so worth it! Vibrant atmosphere :-)
I didn’t know what an Arepa was - and I was missing out! 🔥🥑🍖 Maize flatbreads filled to bursting with meats, plantains, avocados, beans and all kinds of tastebud titillating salsas. They are Colombian & Venezuelan in origin and the vibrant Latin flavours are earth shattering 🌶️🍋🧄 It’s a great spot for a quick bite or date night - located within Ponsonby’s hip little back-alley food row. You’ll pay $23 for the one pictured but it is very filling and an experience not to be missed. The lads serving are great too - proper South American banter and relaxed vibes. 🤌

Food was very tasty! Easy to follow menu, staff were helpful when we couldn’t decide and their recommendations were great. Love how you can sit at the counter and watch the food being prepared. Very cool music that suited the ambience. The only problem is trying to find a park close enough to Ponsonby Central!

Olas Arepas makes some incredible food! Everything I've had there has been amazing so far, perfectly cooked and seasoned meats balanced with some amazing vegetables! Definitely give Olas a try.
The best Latin food I’ve had in Auckland by far. This place serves amazing food and compared to the other places in Ponsonby central is much quieter so you’ll have no problem getting a table. Portions here are generous and they don’t short you on anything. Super friendly staff too. Definitely worth stopping by.
Really delicious food! Really liked the arepa itself and the filling topped with some of their chimichurri was delicious.
The dulce dessert was nicely balanced with the cream and overall really good.
Will definitely come back to try some different other dishes on the menu!
I had 2 arepas and 2 plates with deep fried platano by my self. I loved it sooo much. So tasty and refreshing. Definitely a place to try out.
A 5 star experience all round. Both staff members were friendly and chatty and made me feel welcome. It was my first time trying food like this and it was excellent. Ingredients were high quality and very tasty.

This is VERY authentic Venezuelan Arepas! My wife is Venezuelan and these are the most authentic Arepas you can eat in New Zealand.
It's a regular visit for us as the food is exceptional. The service always great and the prices are very resonable. If you want to try the most Authentic Arepas on the menu, have the pabellón or Reina.This is what Venezuelans eat for Breakfast lunch and Dinner haha. Also try the Casava fries! And if you still have room at the end, try the "Tres leches" cake! Its also a very popular desert in Venezuela and prob my favorite thing on planet earth!

As a Latina visiting Auckland from the U.S., Olas Arepas is a great find. The owner is from Venezuela and it shows in the quality of his arepas. If you haven't had arepas, they are like a handheld food pocket made from corn that you fill with meats and veggies.
Every time I have eaten here the food, presentation and service has always been great. They obviously take pride in serving good quality food.
Great options for gluten free, vegetarian or vegan.
We used Olas Arepas Food Truck for a big birthday party and it went superb. Food was great - guests raved. Good value for money. He had everything they needed - just had to provide some powerpoints and space! Brilliant and highly recommended.
For a casual "food court" meal we thought it was great. Enjoyed the meal, loved the home made drink, good service.
Amazing food, they really have an eye for detail and taste. Highly recommended if your a lover of latin food or want to try something new! Olas Arepas is a great little place nestled in Ponsonby and has a very cozy feel. Will be back here again for sure.

I highly recommend this place! I wanted to add a couple of pictures of what I got but not sure how to, I got the pork one and my partner got chicken. Both of them were amazing, freshly made and the sauces are to die for. I could drink the whole sauce. The “hot” sauce wasn’t too hot though but that’s just me I eat a lot of spicy food but it did have a tiny bite. Overall a great place and I’d go to it again!! Try their food.
