We come here very often, for family dinners and celebrations! The staff are always incredibly friendly (although quite loud but that’s the Cantonese way!) and attentive.

Only got photos of a few of the dishes (will be sure to get more next time) but everything is always very tasty - lives up to the name!

This place is warm, welcoming, and familiar, and that’s why I love it and will keep returning.

I've only ever been to this restaurant on Fri or Sat evenings & it is always packed, so I suggest you book a table if you would like to eat here, to be safe. We usually have the peking duck, prawn balls, fried green beans, plus other dishes but those 3 are always ordered with the meals. If you order the peking duck, I suggest you ask for more sauce as the initial amount provided is usually not enough. The food itself are all tasty but this can be quite hit & miss. I have been to this restaurant for over 2 years now; the food when I first tried this restaurant was definitely much better than it is now. The restaurant itself is a bit dated & could do with a bit of an upgrade. As for the service, expect basic service; ie you will get your order taken, food serve, etc. but don't expect anything more. I have learnt to help myself to water, fork/spoon for the kids, etc rather than ask the wait staff, especially when some of them can barely speak English. Price-wise, this place is quite reasonably priced & you do get quite a lot of food for what you pay so I suggest you go there with a very empty belly. We always have food to take home for the next day's lunch/dinner.

The place is loud (like most Chinese restaurants) and their service is average. However, the food is great! It's my family's favourite Chinese restaurant.

Good standard Cantonese cuisine. Nothing that's going to blow your socks off. But the food is tasty and cooked well. Go there for the food not the surroundings.

Dined for dinner here with family, this has been a regular place for us to grab some really good dishes!

We ordered deep fried stuffed tofu, lobster with yee mein, with stir fried Chinese vegetables.
Decent sized portions, reasonably priced. We come here and always satisfied with our meal.

Tofu was generously served with sauce that complimented well with the tofu, stuffed with crab meat. Nicely deep fried, very tasty dish.
The lobster was a little on the tougher side this time, but still just as delicious! Complimented well with the noodles.
Chinese vegetables (Chinese Okra) was really well made, nicely al dente favourite Chinese vegetable dish!

I would recommend getting a booking for this restaurant it does get very busy with good reason, does excellent sized portions for great value. Staff are attentive despite being rushed off their feet serving tables.
Definitely will be back for more!

Friendly fast and tasty!

My mates favorite place. Skeptical on entry, but the service was friendly, the food was made fast, and fresh.

Good Cantonese food is you are out east!

Free entry soup and dessert soup. If you're after fine dining, this is not the place. If your after a mean munchies or hangover feed. This is the place!

Like most Chinese restaurants, expect big portions and good value for money. For 3 people, we ordered a pork dish, a vege, a tofu casserole and noodles which was plenty for dinner and lunch next day!

We were served complimentary soup and dessert soup at the end of our meal.

My favourite dish was the spicy and sweet marinated pork and the beans with mince (which was not in the English menu).

Unfortunately they didn't have their fried beef noodle (干炒牛河)but got a crispy noodle with beef and was pretty tasty!

The restaurant from the outside doesn't look like much, but I recommend to step inside and it surprises me at how clean the place is!

Service was good, we were seated, orders were take. and tea was topped up when our teapot cap was open (indicating in need of more water).

I've had my fair share of chinese food and it's becoming quite apparent that places that you least expect, have the better tasting/ quality food.

I dined in at Tasty Zone last night and I wasn't expecting much, but golly it was good. We ordered around 12 dishes and all were exceptionally fresh and served in a timely manner. Favourites were definitely the prawn balls in salty egg yolk and the spring onion and ginger stirfried crayfish on yee noodles. I love how they catch a live cray and show you to ensure you're happy with the size first. :-)

The service was actually good - quick, efficient and ensured our rice pot and tea was always filled nicely. The owner actually made his way around to check up on us a few times too. Hi5.

Decor was a little outdated - the purple walls seem a little out of place.

I definitely had an awesome meal and I highly recommend it to all :-)

We chose this restaurant as a wild card and were not disappointed. Food was really reasonably priced and everything was delicious. Don't get put off by the decor, it could use an upgrade.. I would also suggest this is done where you want to go with a group so you can share different plates because they are generous sizes and you want to be able to try more than two! We had sweet and sour pork and beef with ginger, yum!

Was lucky to get a table for 9 on a Tuesday night without prior booking. Delicious authentic Cantonese food at reasonable pricing and the meal came with complimentary soup and dessert. Enjoyed the 2-course Peking duck, sizzling venison, steamed fresh cod fish and stuffed tofu dish. It's menu has a wide seafood selection and I'm looking forward to try their crayfish dish in my next visit.

My family came here for my little brothers birthday. Tasty Zone is a popular hidden restaurant in off Ti Rakau. It's a cramped restaurant with seating on two floors. We were seated upstairs which seemed weird like I was in Alice in Wonderland because the ceiling was so low.
The staff are efficient but not the friendliest. When we asked for service and things like more rice, or tea refills they would just ignore us or be really slow. They seemed to hate their job, which is ok but they acted unprofessionally and had really poor customer service skills.
The food is pretty good and on the higher quality and value end of most Chinese restaurants I've been to. The food had flavour and were large portions at cheap prices.

One of my family's regular spots for celebratory dinners where we specially request for the Crayfish special. My mother swears by it that Tasty Zone does the most competitive prices for crayfish at market price. Usually you can go down to the tank and pick out your target or you can request for a specific weight and they will recommend which one they think is appropriate before they have it prepared and ready. You'll need to book the date before you step in requesting for a table as the restaurant gets really busy. Fear not, there is more seating upstairs.

Peking duck is also another one of their popular choices and its worth asking what their special is for vegetables as they always prepare up something fresh every time.

Tasty Zone is my family’s go-to restaurant for authentic and delicious Cantonese food. This place is incredibly popular; the service is at a hurtling speed, the wait staff speak hurriedly, and dishes are on the table before you know it. The tables are cleared and readied for the next group of eager diners even before you are out the door. Tasty Zone does the range from specialty banquet dishes (shark fin, crayfish, abalone) to your more mundane noodle dishes. If you read Chinese, there is also a list of special dishes (which is why I only visit with the only two ‘real’ Chinese in the family; - my sis-in-law SA and Di).

I could have sworn I had already posted about this place; we have been here that many times. The following photos are a combination of my last three dinners at Tasty Zone; in case you confuse us as insatiable gluttons (we are, but not completely). The drawcard at Tasty Zone is its live seafood, which you get to select for your dinner. If you decide to have live seafood (or special dishes such as peking duck), remember to order these when you book your table.

As with Cantonese tradition, complimentary soup starts off the dining, - this was a simple broth made from simmering pork bones for many hours with sweet root vegetables (carrot and radish).

The two-course peking duck (Mandarin shao ya or Cantonese siu ngaap $58) is excellent at Tasty Zone, succulent meat and glossy, crunchy skin. The second course is duck san choy bow, where the meat is chopped and sautéed with vegetables and puffed vermicelli noodles, and served in lettuce bowls.

On celebratory occasions, we order the crayfish yee mein (market price). The manager brings you the vigorously flapping cray to approve before whisking it off to the kitchen for its sacrifice. We have to stop this tradition though; I am not a fan of lobster and find it a bit bland and chewy.

The fresh cod cooked Teochew-style (steamed with ginger and spring onions) is always a delight. As with fish that has just come out of the tank, it is extremely sweet and delicate.

We always ask what Chinese vegetables they have available ($20). Sometimes it is see gua (silk melon), other times you can get kang kong/ on choy (water convolvulus) or pea shoots or more commonly, gai lan (Chinese broccoli).

They serve complimentary fresh fruit as a palate cleanser at the end of the meal. The worst thing about Tasty Zone is that you have to book in advance, and you may be asked to vacate your table by a certain time. Unfortunately, they are that busy. Luckily, my family and I don't like to linger after a meal, so fast, delicious food with brusque-ish service suits us just fine. I have only seen large tables of diners of 8 to 12, so I am unsure if they cater for smaller groups.
