I thought I would be doing a bad review but I was wrong.
Delivereasy took 2 hours to arrive for my order, delivery is free if over $25. The restaurant took really good care of the fish and was crispy and still hot/warm when arrived. The flavour was spot on and delicious. The fish is super big and extremely fresh. For $28 this meal was a bargain!
I will be trying the spicy fish next time. Such great value for money. Very very happy I gave them a go. A must must must try.
Cozy restaurant nestled in the heart of Kingsland. Impressively extensive menu consisting of entrees, curries, sizzling plates, salads, pad thais and whole fish! We got: Fried Chicken, Green Curry Duck, Sizzling Peanut Beef, Seafood Curry Powder, Pad See Ew noodles, Fried Whole Garlic Fish and Puffy Roti! My favourites were the Sizzling Peanut Beef, Fried Whole Garlic Fish, Fried Chicken and Puffy Roti! I would say this is the best Thai restaurant I’ve been to in terms of taste, portions, price, and satisfaction! • Sizzling Peanut Beef; that peanut sauce is insanely good, rich in both flavour and textures of nutty crunch in creamy sauce! The beef slices were also cooked perfectly tender and very generously portioned! • Fried Whole Garlic Fish; my jaw dropped staring at this giant whopper before it was even put on the table! Deep fried whole to perfection, the batter is crumbly and crunchy yet light without grease; while the juicy fish is thick, succulent and tender. Drizzled with a show-stopping sweet garlic sauce and you’ve got yourself a winner. • Fried Chicken; beautifully crumbed batter over soft tender chicken fillets. The seasoning was flavourful, salty with a little kick of spice and the spritz of lemon juice definitely intensifies the flavours. You can still see the juices seeping from the chicken and that screams 10/10. Also very good portions! • Puffy Roti; such amazing buttery flaky roti! They u also insanely crunchy and paired so well with every dish. The interior is funky yet rustic and is intended to bring a side of Thailand right here to Auckland. Overall my family and I had a notably satisfied and happy dinner here and I would highly recommend @Bangkok!Food: 10/10Price: 10/10Ambience: 9/10Service: 10/10
What a lovely meal this was! From the welcoming and enthusiastic service, to the flavorful food, this meal left us with full and content bellies. They aim to create vibes here that resemble Bangkok and the back of their menu even features an itinerary!▪️Tuk Tuk Chicken Wings: recommended for starters, crispy and covered in Thai spicy and sour sauce▪️ Pork Pad Thai: classic basic Thai dish but I basically order every time I eat Thai coz I freaking love it▪️Soft Shell Crab: unlike all other soft shell crabs I've had before, it's covered in curry powder that made it a tad too spicy for me, but still devoured it▪️Sizzling Peanut Sauce: my favourite dish, could not get enough of it. We chose to have it with pork and it's stir fried with veges in rich peanut sauce.
They've only opened for lunch recently and have introduced their happy lunch menu available between 12-3pm Wed-Sun, that features several dishes for $11 including the Thai Omelette on rice (recommend drizzling on some sriracha sauce). They so kindly surprised us with this so unfortunately it missed the photo. There is so much technique required in making this salted omelette fluffy, from the heat of the wok to the amount of oil.

So last Sunday I checked out @Bangkok Restaurant. I haven’t been to this restaurant before as Kingsland is not my local area but I was given an opportunity to try their food. I am a big foodie and love Thai food so it was an offer I couldn’t resist. We tried a lot of dishes and overall had a great experience. If you’re after a new Thai place in Auckland to try, check out the post below.
What an amazing place. We were here came here last night and order a massamun, green curry and pad Thai. Amazing food amazing service and amazing thailand.
The service on weekends is not good. Unsure whether this is a common issue as have only been once. The food was very good and authentic, the spicy noodles were full of flavour and a good level of heat. The chicken wings were also very tasty. For the price I would recommend. Overall, a good dining experience, but the service could have brought it down to 3 stars.
Came here for a surprise birthday BYO and will be back again. They accommodate to big groups (we were about 15 pax), have a good corkage price and a large selection on their menu. My partner and I tried the pad sew and the sizzling plate with duck. I have been to this restuarant before and have to say that their stir fried options are the best thing on the menu. I also really enjoy their roti! They were all good with me bringing a cake and gave me a late time slot so that we could stay until closing. Such amazing service and enjoyable food.
Pad thai is to die for here! Cute little intimate place, nice and quiet. Quirky decor and everyone loves a good BYO! Staff were lovely. Love the location so I'll be definitely be back!
Lovely meal, I ordered the green curry (chicken) and rice. Was delicious and filling, didn’t really need the mixed platter between the two of us. Tasted my friends drunken beef and I would say it was a bit too salty and saucy for my liking, the veges slightly take the salty taste away from it though. Other than that, was extremely happy with my order and would definitely visit again for that. Staff were friendly and the cost was pretty standard.
Nice Thai restaurant! Only been here once but definitely would go again. Service was excellent, the staff was very friendly and helped with recommending what to pick off the menu, food also came out within a reasonable time frame. Decor and layout of restaurant is simple but nice. Menu offers a range of Thai specialities - small plates to share, various rice and noodle dishes, curries and a few snapper dishes. Had the mini mix platter which was perfect for sharing and the Pad See Ew (vegetarian). The Pad See Ew was flavourful and nicely cooked - though was an ok portion size it could be a bit bigger. The restaurant also opens till about 10-11pm so good for late nighters. Would be suitable for groups, though booking would be essential as the restaurant is not overly big. Takeaways and Uber Eats is also an option. Parking is relatively easy as long as there’s no game on at Eden Park!
I like and I LOVE! Don’t be fooled by the ridiculously cheap pricing for their food. It’s also so delicious!! I had their chicken pad Thai and it was amazing. I’m Thai myself and I’m hardly ever satisfied going to Thai restaurants, but this place is nice.
Also had money bags for entree they were good!
Cheap pricing, quick service and delicious food!

Awesome place, great vibe and great food! Truly value for your money! We went here for a quick Friday night dinner and I would suggest booking a table as they can get packed. Everything was worth it tho. A MUST TRY IN AUCKLAND 👍🏼
One of the best pad Thai’s in Auckland and so reasonably priced! Also love the ugly puffy roti - so delicious! Def give it a try! Used to live down the road from here so was so convenient!
I can recommend the stir fry chicken with cashews, it is very good!! Delicious flavours of sauces, fresh vegetables, meat and a glass of wine.... late weekend lunch in Kingsland, well worth the visit, mmm!
This cute little restaurant in Kingsland serves some really nice Thai food. The spicy chicken fried rice and stir fried garlic chicken were both very enjoyable and the service was friendly. The only thing that can be a bit tricky is parking in the area (depending on the day and time), so if in doubt, take the train. The station is right around the corner.
Went here for my birthday on a Friday night. Space is cosy. Everybody enjoyed their meals, unfortunately the dish that I wanted wasn’t available but I ended up with a hot plate with their traditional sauce. Devine! Will definitely be returning.
Fast service ( phone order)
Friendly staff
Wicked food good size portions
Ate chicken and vegetarian pad Thai, basil rice, some tofu entree deep fried goodness.
Went on basis of Zomato reviewer who had reviewed a different establishment and suggested for the same price, this place offered more. Whilst I can’t speak for the other establishment we were happy with our decision to phone order here. As vegetarians there were loads of options. The chicken eater suggest it was the best pad Thai they had ever had and my basil rice was pretty terrific too. Service was quick with our order on a Saturday night. Small establishment with limited seats the place was busy. Will happily eat here again. Seemed kid friendly if you’re brave enough to eat out with smaller guys and from what I heard, very accommodating for people who want to shake up there orders and omit things.
Delicious food and such a great price! The wait staff were lovely, very helpful despite the pressure. No wonder it was so busy. Booking is a good idea at the usual busy times.
Amazing! Ordered from UBEREATS and was very happy with the service. The prawn cakes tasted amazing and paired so well with the sweet plum sauce. Chicken satay was good as well. But the Roti is a MUST tbh, so delicious and just the right texture (it’s a little bit oily like all rotis are but who’s counting the calories 😂). The chicken massaman curry was great and very flavorful. The potatoes were just a little bit undercooked however (they were still kinda crunchy which was odd) and the chicken could be a little bit more tender. But overall my tummy is happy and I’ll be ordering from them again for sure :)
Tasty, affordable, friendly staff and BYO... What more could you want in a restaurant??!!?? I've been here a few times for dinner and also had take out a few times too. Never disappoints.
MY favourite dishes would be: The whole snapper (any way), chicken massaman curry & the cashew chicken. All flavour explosions!
The interior is pretty basic, but the staff are warm and inviting. Beware - this place gets busy!
Got takeaway from here about 5 times in the last month.
Food is cooked quickly.
Food tastes Amazing.
The chefs are not afraid to create food with a rich complex flavour.
Great value for money.
Highly recommend the Beef Massaman, but all other dishes I've had have been super tasty as well.
One of my favorite Thai restaurant right now ! I have been there three times in one week! Hahaha the service is excellent , and even ordering take out they still served me water and seated me at a table . One time, they forgot a part of my order and they were nice enough to add an additional item for their mistake :) always smiley faces and great attitude . The 3 flavour pork is to die for ! Very flavorful , moist and quite filling too . Small, quaint space and very refreshing .
Service: very accommodating and nice servers.
Service is so far for a thai restaurant, very impressively fast actually. Very. Very. Impressive. Great for a quick fix.
Ambience: its a small restaurant that probably holds 8 groups of four accg to my approximates. Clean and inviting. Designs and layout are consistent to what they offer
Food flavor: WOW. Ive been to thai restaurants. And this has been the BEST. We had beef Massaman Curry (i guarantee, try it please as its an explosion of flavors) , Green Curry, sizzling pork with special sauce, Sweet and Sour Snapper, and Thai Fried Rice (also a must try, the best fried rice in auckland. The flavors are crazy from first spoon to the last, we had to order another after literally a minute)
Food vs Price vs Serving Size: 14 dollars, for an amazing experience of flavor, for a serving good for 2 for regular eaters. 1 serving would be enough for a big eater (plus rice haha )
We have almost got wrong order through UberEATS but as soon as we called the restaurant, they fixed it up straight away. That was second time we had it and the food is just awesome. Especially recommend basil fried rice if you like spicy food(duck option is the best). Awesome food and great service.
Mmm probably the nicest thai food in town! Got this delivered tonight by UberEATS and was not disappointed. I would recommend the ugly roti !! Overall my only criticism would be that they should try provide cutlery if they're delivering via UberEATS- we really struggled finding some as this was delivered to uni.
Very friendly staff. Love the ambiance of the restaurant. The food we ordered (a variety of things as we were a big group) was very delicious and satisfying. Enjoyed every bite. Their noodles was the best according to me. The food came out pretty fast which is always a +. But I reckon the quantity could have been a bit more.
The food here is amazing, have visited the place more than 3 times in the last couple of months. Love the consistency with their menu. Service is a bit slow and would like for the staff to concentrate a bit more on people dinning in rather than serving uber eats customers first. Last visit we had to wait for an hour and fifteen minutes for our order, but noticed a lot of orders were going out through uber eats. Would definitely keep going for the food but not for the service. I will order takeaways next time.
So many times I have been here and they never let me down.
For starts we had chicken cashew nuts and green curry with some antry
Checked cashew nut was so tasty I dispose to share it however I had them all.
Checked green curry pretty good too..
Customer service were on point too.
Just recommended.
Catered for 10 people perfectly. We ordered a vegetarian fried rice, vegetarian cashew nuts stir fry, 2 chicken pad Thai, one duck red curry, roti, beef cashew stir fry and rice. Every dish came out so quickly!!!!!!!!! And the best thing was it's BYO! Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you want your Thai fix. Sorry no photos for this review (this is a first) was too hungry at the time.
I can see why this place is so popular now! I finally came here tonight for dinner and loved it. Unlike other more traditional Thai restaurants, Bangkok has a more modern, edgy feel to it with exposed brick walls and red lanterns hanging from the ceiling.
We ordered the garlic, whole snapper and vegetable Tom yum soup to share. The Tom yum soup was really good. The vegetables were still crunchy, tofu was crispy and the soup was nice and fragrant from the Thai herbs, it does get very rich after sometime so I usually pour the soup over my rice. Tom yum for me should be a perfect balance of sweet and sour, this one was probably a bit more on the sour side, but still delicious and flavourful. As an entree size it was a big portion too.
The whole snapper was amazing, the fish was fresh, soft and crispy on the outside. The dish on the menu was called garlic snapper, however the garlic wasn't overpowering at all, which I was glad about. Great dishes at reasonable prices, I will definately be back!
One of the best Thai takeways and definitely cheap eat in Auckland! The staff are so friendly and onto it too. Such reasonable prices and you even get a cheaper price if ordering take out. Recommend the Drunken Chicken and Pad Thai for sure :)
This place is awesome! We arrived to what we thought would be a late dinner but being so small, it was full! A good sign as the food must keep happy customers coming. We spoke to the waitress and she was lovely, we gave our name and number and were informed it would be about a 15 min wait for a table so we went across the road for a wine while we waited. Service was amazing, the staff were really knowledgeable about vegan food and adapting the menu (not to mention already having a wide range of vegetarian options!). Our food came out super quick and the decor/ambience of the restaurant was really lovely. 2 out of 4 of us diners really enjoyed our meals however a friend of mine had an overly fishy dish and the other said hers was quite bland - the kitchen did have to remove a few ingredients due to her being gluten free but they did their best to ensure she had something to eat. All in all, my food was delicious and I would definitely come back for the service! :)
If you want to get seats here either book or go early. The place is small so fills up very quickly and it gets really busy during peak meal times.
Extremely quick and efficient service. We were served straight away with water and our orders taken. Food came out equally as fast.
Chicken satay skewers were nice, lots of sauce. Oyster sauce duck was generous in size. Beef namtok was well seasoned but the only bad thing I have to say about this dish was there was a huge bed of ?chinese cabbage. Which I didn't really like as a salad component.
I felt like it didn't really belong as a salad ingredient. The sticky rice was a little too gloopy for me as well. You couldn't really see the grains, it was all just mushed together in a gloop.
Mmm @bangkok. Came here for a quick dinner after a thai massage. It was busy but luckily they had a seat for us. We ordered a mixed platter, green curry for me and pad thai for my bf, And a side of ugly rotiI also got the thai milk tea. The service is great, fast and effective. The green curry was okay, it could be creamier but i guess that is expected for a place this busy, but the pad thai was delicious!!! The roti was very fluffy and crispy as well, the only thing we had to complain about is the amount of oil in the roti. The mix platter was good and my thai milk tea was delicious.
Overall this place is great for value, fast, friendly and affordable. I will definitely come back next time to try their noodle dishes
I had my 21st birthday dinner here on the 2/11/16. I chose this restaurant because of its cosy atmosphere, dim lighting, delicious food and good staff. Leading up to it I had ordered food from here twice and was satisfied each time.
The staff are phenomenal, attentive and made sure that my wants were met. I'm really glad I had my birthday dinner at this cute restaurant. Will definitely continue to dine there every now and then. One of the waitresses (Buhtsy) is so awesome and has amazing customer service skills and knows how to get things running.
Because guests of mine decided to just not show up last minute there was a bit of confusion in the kitchen. Our entrees came out at 8PM, then the meals came at around 8:30PM. Majority of the dishes were on point and flavorful except for the Duck Green Thai Curry which was a bit disappointing because I loved it the other two times I had it but understandable the chefs were under a lot of pressure cooking for over 30 of us. All of us had a set menu however the owner of the restaurant allowed me to pick which meals I wanted on the set menu which was bloody awesome. The set menu allows you to BYO wine! Even better.
Anyways I'm rambling now. Would just like to say that if anyone is looking for a intimate, delicious and nice restaurant to have a function at this is the one. Thank you to the staff for making my night a memorable one :)
Words cannot express how good the food is here. My partner and I took his parents out for dinner here and everyone agreed it was the best thai they have ever had. Staff were friendly. Food was quick and we'll priced $100 for four adults including drinks and entrees. I suggest booking in and leaving early as parking is difficult. You won't be disappointed!
Would've gotten a 5/5 if we were provided all required cutlery (no knives) and also water (staff were too busy to pay attention to us unfortunately).
I can't blame them though, the food tasted amazing, there was a loud buzz in the atmosphere fill with laughter and entertainment.
We ordered the Curry Puffs, Hand Made Prawn Cakes (heaven), Chicken in Sizzling Special Sauce (absolutely delicious), Beef Massaman (to die for) and Pad Thai (definitely on point)! We also ordered two Singha beers and a Mango drink, the drinks took a while to arrive.
However, once the food came, they all came together, usually this is too overwhelming, but this place is a MUST SEE to understand why it just did not matter!
Easily my most favorite place to go for Thai food in Auckland I've found so far. I've been here a handful of times and have never felt anything other then pure love of the food/place/atmosphere and prices.I highly recommend the "Pad Thai", "Green Curry", "Spring Rolls", and the "Golden Sizzling Plate".Such an amazing place for Thai food you will not be disappointed!
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is authentic Thai compared to other Thai restaurants in Ponsonby. Will definitely come back and try the other items on the menu. They do phone orders for take away as well.
This is my absolute fave Thai joint in Auckland. The food comes out quickly and tastes amazing. The staff are always friendly and very cooperative with extra requests and the prices are very reasonable. What's not to love!!
Great cheap food - this is one of the best cheap eats I've been to in Auckland!
This little restaurant is situated in the heart of Kingsland and booming with customers. It's probably best to book if you're going on a Friday or Saturday night.
Each main dish is $11.50 plus it's BYO so perfect if you're planning a cheap dinner and a couple of wines on the side.
I went with my family one Friday evening. It was the first time my mum had been and she loved it! The food is always so tasty every time I go. We ended up getting the Curry Puffs and Prawn Cakes for entree and Spicy Noodle, Cashew with Chicken and 3 Flavours Chicken for main. We finished off with sharing 2 Roti's between the 4 of us. All the dishes are super tasty and flavoursome. The prawn cakes and 3 Flavours dish was so good! I definitely recommend it.
Overall our meal came to around $12 per person, great value for money! I highly recommend this place if you're wanting a casual meal or a cheap eat before heading out for a big night - either or it suits both occasions!
Amazing delicious and fresh Thai food. Great atmosphere and service. Byo. And our meal came to $46 for two!! An absolute Auckland gem! Highly recommended.
Came here for the first time as not an area we usually visit.
Atmosphere : 4.5
Service : 5 excellent service
Food: 4.5
We ordered padthai, red curry chicken, sweet and sour snapper, tofu and sizzling pork. Very authentic Thai and definitely recommend.
Great fast service and great pricing for the dishes. Super close to home, so we are regulars here. I would recommend the Massaman curry and the roti (which is puffed) nothing like I've had before.
Best Thai food I have ever had anywhere in the world!!! Highly recommend the duck rice and steamboat Tom yum soup! Service is fantastic and the staff are great. Byo wine too. Great place for a catch up with friends or casual date night. Love the food here so much! Fantastically priced too!
Cool little Thai restaurant in Kingsland, snug and humble. Lively atmosphere and always crowded - Partly due to the fact that it's quite a narrow restaurant. But prime location on Kingsland rd, very close to a liquor store for your BYO needs.
This restaurant has all the main Thai dishes and delivers good quality meals. I especially love the ugly roti, which is flakey and delicious. Prices are reasonable and competitive with other Thai restaurants.
Overall, cool and casual little Thai restaurant, with a hip feel and good food.
YUMMM!
We ordered chicken Panang curry, 3 flavoured chicken (basically sweet and sour batter) and spring rolls!
Everything was sooo delicious and authentic tasting. Big portions too! I was super full after.
Only 'negative' thing was I asked for a mild Panang and they gave me a very spicy one. I don't really do spice but luckily it was so delicious I could handle it!
We got takeaway so can't wait to dine in next time :) also for $11.50 a main, this will def become a regular!
Very reasonable prices, fast service and delicious food. I had Beef nam tok and it was delicious - lots of herbs and complex flavors. Could've done it hotter too but as it is it's perfectly balanced dish. Planning to go back with friends and try some more.
We came around 9pm. This restaurant falls under the metro top 100 cheap eats . The seating was a little tight but the food was worth every cent spent . We orders a Panang chicken curry that was marvellous , a deep fried snapper with chilli sauce that was just nice for two people and super delicious and lastly their absolute fantastic cashew nut prawns . Service was excellent and food was amazing . They are quite busy usually so do book in advance .
Love this for a cheap and amazing thai restaurant! Atmosphere is really cute (think hipster-y) and, staff are lovely and service is always great. Worth booking ahead as it can get busy.
The menu is perfect - covers all the bases. Portions are large and prices are really good. The flavours of the food are strong but well balanced and food is always fresh. My favourite choices are the peanut sauce stir fry, oyster sauce stir fry and the pad thai. BONUS: it's BYO and has pretty cheap drinks.
Say no mas to the ridiculously priced and not so tasty ponsonby byos. The massamun curry here is off the hooks! Satisfaction guaranteed dishes but most importantly you can even afford an appetizer adter the corkage!
Great atmosphere...friendly staff, tasty food and reasonable prices. Really enjoyed our evening here. The Pad Thai and Chicken Satay was yummy, would go back to have these again. BYO too which is a bonus.
I think this is the ultimate Thai byo in Auckland. Food so fresh and amazing quality for the price. They are really patient with large rowdy groups 👍🏽

Absolutely the BEST Thai in Auckland on so many levels. Small with a great atmosphere. curries, pad thai, fish and entrees are all delicious with great sizings and an excellent price point. I keep going back again and again for these reasons 👌😋🍜
Not a typical Thai restaurant, cozy and buzzing vibe with friendly services. The food was tasty. My friend and I love the art pieces on the wall.
Great food and really good sized portions, only issue we had with takeaways was the good old parking in Kingsland but the food was great and we will definitely be back again, yum!
Great place to come get a taste of Thai. Tasty, filling and a good cheap eat. Restaurant is cosy and was buzzing with life. Some cool artwork on the wall and friendly staff. Will be back soon.
Punchy flavours and buzzing vibe.
The dishes pack a punch -but not so much that the spice level is unbearable.
Yay, a Thai place that's not afraid to use Thai herbs, chillies, and spices.
Dish worth going for: Prawn Tom Yum Soup.
It's popular so make reservations, be prepared to wait (handy that there are lots of bars along the strip), or go on the early side.
@Bangkok is seriously one of the best Thai restaurants I have ever been to.
The atmosphere here is very cozy and inviting, servers are typical Thai people and very nice. The food is The ingredients are fresh, they properly alter the spiciness and the meat is cooked just perfect.
My favorite dish here was the Pad Thai, a combination of noodles, seasoning, chicken and spicyness! Just delicious. Although I have had multiple things on the menu and all are good, I have never been disappointed. Only downfall about this place is people are starting to catch on to its awesomeness. To avoid waiting you can also get take out.
If you are looking for authentic Thai in Auckland this is hands down the place to go. After eating here I will have to go to Thailand to see if their food can compete!
I go here anytime I want thai food (which is alot). So many different dishes to choose from and the portions are a great size! And don't let the size of the meal fool you, the quality is amazing. Best thai food I've had in auckland!
The food is consistent. I have only ever had takeaways. Service is usually quick and the food pricing is good. Salads are very small in portion. The sweet and sour chicken is not battered like other places. Just a quaint little place to try if you are in the area and much better value than the other Thai place nearby
We went on a busy Friday night. Place was packed. I had ordered the beef cashew which was really good. I had asked for some chilli but the waiter had forgot and I had to re ask 5 minutes later. A few friends ordered the chicken larb and it had too much red onion. The pad Thai was also quite bland. Another friend said the prawn Tom yum was better then what she had in Thailand. Overall the place is good, in a great location and their pricing is affordable.
The food is just so good, cheap and the staff are always so lovely :) Definitely one of my favourites, hats off to these guys their killing it!
Entree & main for two = $32! Very reasonable for portion sizes... I asked for Thai hot & the provided the right kind of heat (not just toned it down because I'm European)... Friendly service though the waiter behind the till dud not have enough knowledge & had to keep checking with kitchen staff... Parking is hard to find too for a takeaway order... Food still very tasty!
Been meaning to come here for a while now and pleasantly surprised at hoe good the food and service was.
We had a wide variety of starters and mains, a few too many to name but I can tell you they were excellent. 1 thing I really really recommend is the 'ugly roti.' It was beautiful.
Meals washed down well with some Tiger beers.
Good prices and big portions. Well done guys.
Always a fan of Thai food so this place was a must. The service was friendly and polite. The menu has a good variety of options, should be something for everyone. The food is tasty and fresh. The portions were on the smaller side than other Thai places but not bad for $11.50. There is an option to upsize at a extra cost
Been wanting to go here for sooo long. And I was not disappointed! It was a full house when I arrived and one waiter on and he was so welcoming and efficient. He ran the whole section by himself and did it so well, 10/10 for him alone.
We ordered satay chicken and cashew pork stirfry between to people with rice and we where full by the end of it. Such good prices for such big portions ! The satay chicken was good but not my type of satay I like but that was fine. The stirfry was to die for so flavoursome and delicious. We ordered a curry that took a while to come out but we where full so cancelled it.
I will be coming here a lot more, I've been looking for a place where I can see myself being a regular and this is it!
Def 5/5. Good potions. Great taste & great taste.... Authentic alrite Very cosy setting. Were well satisfied. Taste is super. Will definitely go again
Always a good time. Great food. Never late. Consistent quality. Top service. My favourite thai in auckland
Fresh, delicious, friendly and well priced! First time i've eaten there, and we absolutely loved it. The panang curry & stir fry we're delicious, and the coconut smoothie was something else. The perfect compliment to our spicy curry. The staff we're very friendly, and the chefs we're talking in Thai which is always reassuring. Definitely worth the visit.
Have only ever been here for take-out, it is great, cheap and fast Thai food. I love how cheap their mains are and almost prefer the smaller serving as it allows you to choose more dishes and ensures the meals are never bland. I love the panang curry and their tofu - so good! Tofu at thai places can be really rubbery and flavourless but this tofu is crispy and really tasty. I think I'm more of a fan of the mains than the entrees but the spring rolls are definitely adequate.
Really nice variety on the menu even though it is shorter than most Thai restaurants.
I'd love to try this place for a BYO dinner as well.
It's my new local :)
Three of us dropped in on a Friday night for dinner. I like what they have done with the interiors apart from a mismatch of tables and chairs. It was packed for the duration we were there and the place would fill up with smoke regularly (assuming this was when a sizzler or some other dish was prepared).
We ordered chicken satay and prawn satay to start off and they were excellent. We also ordered our mains (Spicy Noodles, Basil Fried Rice and crying Tiger - chicken) at the same time. Considering the crowd and the constant stream of customers picking up takeaways, they forgot to serve our mains for close to an hour. On enquiry they scrambled to get this rectified and we had our mains in 15min. The food was worth the wait.
My pick of the bunch was the Crying tiger with chicken as the flavour reminded me of Indo-Chinese food. My wife and our friend picked Spicy Noodles as their favourite. The Basil fried rice had a strong basil flavour but complimented the other flavours. I had a Tiger beer to go with my dinner and we also ordered a coconut smoothie (which we didn't like at all as it had a processed coconut water/cream flavour).
The pricing is reasonable considering the location and the quantity.
The bill was $68 but the host was extremely apologetic for the delay with the mains and charged us just $50!!
If you want cheap, delicious and quick (considering our delay as a rare occurrence) thai food with a bunch of people then look no further.
Have come in on a Friday night, really busy, atmosphere is quite squished however nice service so far, when they finally got over lol. The entrees and mains were ordered together, entrees came quite fast (around about 10mins wait after ordering) however mains have taken around 20/25mins after entrees...bit of a wait but the food is nice. Price is worth the food, surprised they don't charge more actually because it is delish. If they were quicker with food output then I'd give a 5.
Super yummy food, a little on the packed side but quick turnover. Staff seemed a little flustered with the crowd but friendly enough and competent where it counts (getting the food to you).
Quick fast and yummy thai food.... We ordered stir fry peanut sauce chicken, sizzling crying tiger with beef, the beef massaman curry and 2 portions of rice and 2 rotis.
The peanut sauce chicken was absolutely delicious and all three of us thoroughly enjoyed it. The roti's were pretty hard to fault also.
The restaurant only lost a point because the sizzling dish wasn't sizzling when served and the restaurant itself is quite cramped, and super super loud but I guess that's what comes with kingsland on a Thursday evening.
Overall, quite enjoyable :)
Been there twice and it does not disappoint! Service was fast and food was tasty. The curries there were really good, same goes with the stir fry. Pretty cool decor as well. It's a shame parking is quite hard to find at times.
Cheap, quick and tasty - definitely the place to go if you're craving for some good honest Thai food out of the city. The server was quick, efficient and friendly. We shared some appetisers - chicken satay sticks and curry puffs and pad thai and pad see ew as mains. Not the best Thai place I've been to, but definitely above average.
Have been here a couple of times now to eat in and the service and food has been fantastic. (Two of my friends said its the best Thai they've had in Auckland). Great curries , spicy beef salad and delicious chicken pad thai. They do take away too, but the food tastes better when you eat in. BYO is $4.50 per person.
Will definitely go back !

This is one place that open till late! And I really thank @Bangkok for the great food and ambiance. (Still offering great food!)
The food taste great and well presented. The service has improved. ..we did not have to wait long for the food to be served.
Tried the Panang and Green Curry (just beautiful)
Group capacity: 10 people max. and you must make reservation.
Love the fusion concept...make the place feel young and upbeat.
Been there more than once and Definitely a must go!
I've been to @Bangkok a few times already and the quality and taste of their food never fails to be anything but tasty and delicious. Today my partner and I had the Panang curry, mixed platter - with money bags, spring rolls and DELICIOUS peanut satay chicken skewers - and the Spicy Tom Yum noodle soup. All dishes were mouthwatering. It is a cosy restaurant with a relaxed decor. Service was great as usual not to mention the affordable prices of all the dishes. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone!
Wow, what an awesome experience it was to dine here!
My partner and I love our Thai food, and this hidden gem is hands down the best Thai restaurant we have been to yet - the food is wonderfully presented, the taste is as authentic Thai cuisine as you can get, and the best part? Our mains were $11.50, appetizers $4!
It is the modern Thai dining experience, very classy with excellent service from the staff to match! We now frequent @Bangkok at least twice a month, it makes our trips from Pakuranga worth the drive!
Highly recommended!
Took my work colleagues here for dinner and absolutely enjoyed it! The food came out pretty quick, especially for a booking of 10 on a Saturday night. I'd have to say the pad thai dish was my favourite but the chicken satay skewers came a very close second. Very very reasonably priced too! I definitely recommend it!
This restaurant is exactly what you expect, its cute, non pretentious and very reasonable. The service is great and the food is fresh and delicious. The chicken satay was really yummy and a bargain at just $4 for two sticks. Similar Thai food to what you might get from the Ponsonby food court and Food Alley at about the same price but in a much nicer dining environment and presented in a much more appealing manner. This will definitely be my new local.
They've gone for a proper Bangkok theme here, as opposed to just a generic Thai one...
The food here is very authentic and extremely tasty. Plus, these guys are really nice! Excellent range of exotic Thai-style drinks, and beer to come soon I'm told.
Great addition to the neighbourhood.
Great food, fast and super friendly service. Thai food packed with fresh flavour and spice!! Have visited twice, eaten in and take out, both times were met with friendly service even when they're busy.
Highly recommended!
It has never been my thing to talk about food in terms of value for money as great food is great food in my point of view, doesn't matter if it's $15 or $100. However, I cannot believe it when I come across this cute little Thai takeaway restaurant that serves tasty food, yet can be so inexpensive, especially that it is near Auckland Central.. well this is close enough as it's less than 5km in distance from the City Central, took me around 7-8 mins drive. $11.50 for every main dish is madness for Thai food in the city, and to top it off.. side dish is ONLY $4 each! My first thinking is that there must be a catch to this.. but there really isn't. Food is just as superb and tasty where you can find in any expensive and ostentatious Thai restaurants in Auckland. Forget about silver service, this place is all about quick, tasty and comfort food. The panang curry on rice had a beautiful smooth consistency with just enough spice, and enough sauce to be mopped up by the amazing hot steamy Jasmine rice, and the Pad Thai noodles was just right with the right texture of softness in the noodles. We also ordered the deep fried wings, which proved to be a great side, along with chicken satay sticks. The satay sauce literally was heavenly. It was too much food for the 2 of us, but it tasted so good I ate myself stupid.. I limped out of the place. We love it and would definitely be regulars in this warm cozy place.
I went to @Bangkok with a large group for a BYO dinner. The staff recommended that we get a few things to share but due to allergies and food preferences we opted to get separate meals. The food came out quickly and it all looked delicious. I had the Pad Thai with duck (yum) and it was fabulous. Lots of duck meat and great value for money. I tried the green curry which was very flavoursome but had too much spice for those who weren't used to spice. The basil stir fry was similarly delicious but too spicy for the spice-newbs however they said it was so tasty they made an extra effort to power through the spice. I was really impressed with @Bangkok and would highly recommend it. The food was delicious and so cheap. The staff were lovely and didn't seem to mind a somewhat noisy group. I went back a week later with a small group and we got dishes to share which is a much better option as the mains are very large. For four of us three mains and roti was more than enough and we couldn't finish everything. Their puffy roti was really, really good too. They seemed to be doing a good takeaway trade so I will definitely give them a call next time I want takeaway Thai.
My favorite Thai restaurant in Auckland, hands down! Service is always fast and the staff are friendly, always with a smile on their face and are very accommodating. Their foods are very, very tasty, and authentic Thai. There are selections of stir fries and, soups, salads and curries; their beef Nam Tok salad is exceptionally good, with heap of fresh herbs and the kick from the spices! If you are a fan of pad thai, try their version; it will blow your mind. They serve Singha beer too for an in depth Thai dining experience. They also do BYO, and from experience okay for larger group bookings (but not exceeding 15 people).
If you're bored with your local Thai same samey ness, try this place for the real deal - absolutely bursting with fresh flavours. We loved the beef salad and the sizzling chicken was also excellent. Decor is young and fun and the staff are friendly and super helpful. For a full review, go to http://cheapeats.co.nz/bangkok/
Incredible food. Wow! The service was fast and polite. A great price for top tier food! Cannot recommend it enough!
The fried fish here was so good I had to come back the second time! Also highly rate the ugly puffy roti (so fluffy and flavourful). Love the team and atmosphere, it’s reasonably priced too!
Edit: went back the third time and tried their raw prawns! Highly recommend!
Awesome duck red curry. Had pineapple and lychee in it which caught me off guard but surprisingly worked!
Seating is limited as the place is quite small and parking can be tricky so may help to plan ahead!
Good stuff, I’d go back again to see what the other dishes are like
The food was nice. Recommend trying their deep-fried chicken. Pad Thai and raw prawns were okay. I don't recommend trying their deep-fried fish as the fish had a lot of bone that you need to pay attention to eat. There is a toilet, clean. One minus point is their menu looks so confusing, soup and stir-fired dishes were mixed.
I wasn’t supposed to eat here, I was just dropping the kid to my wife who planned to eat. I had a function with free food elsewhere. But while we waited, we looked at the menu and it looked so good, I couldn’t resist. No regrets. The food was awesome. Great service. Great atmosphere. Some of the best Thai I’ve had. Very close to the trains too.
The place has amazing Thai food and atmosphere. Been twice with my family and loved it. Took a bit long for food to come out one of the times but taste made up for it. Highly recommend
Fresh food, great service! The team here really look after you. The fresh ingredients show in all the food, we got the whole fish and the fried chicken and were happy with what we got! Packed with real heat, not kiwi hot but actual Thai spices, make sure to stop by and grab yourself some solid Thai food!
The food was awesome! Will definitely be back. It gets a bit noisy though. Couldn't hear myself think. If you have kids then go earl

Beautiful food. Never fail to impress. Always got something innovative. Very busy on Friday and Saturday. Recommended to book in advance. And the fresh chilies sauce is a real killer. Well done. 👍👍👍
