First time at The Deccan tonight and we loved the food!
The tamarind fish, in particular, was delicious.
Enjoyed having less creamy dishes and also ordered all curries without meat (only fish & paneer).
Service was good, guy at the counter was very helpful and patient while I selected our dishes.
Only thing I didn't enjoy was the naan. It's more thin and chewy than other local Indian restaurants who make light, fluffy naan (which I prefer).
Will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes. Pleased to see such a wide variety of meats available - will be ordering some goat and pork curries soon!
Teens enjoyed the food too, which is great since I ignored their butter chicken requests :)
Highly recommend!
I've been loyal to them because they are so authentic..!
We always order Butter Chicken and Palak paneer.
Never disappointing. And I love their Eco friendly packages.
One of the best Indian food I had in Auckland.! Kudos to the Chef! Great work
one of my favourite places to visit during the week for lunch. Great flavours and nice friendly staff. The Paneer is one of the best i’ve had.
Exceptional taste with a touch of unique south indian delicacy. Ambience and decor is top notch I recommend you get on your 4 wheels and drive in.

Best naan in Auckland especially the chilli garlic naan and butter naan. Food is delicious and great value for money. Friendly service. I’ve been here about 5 times and also celebrated family birthdays here. This is my favourite Indian restaurant in Auckland and I will keep going back :)
Amazing place. Portion sizes could be bigger especially quantity of meat in curries. But the food is fabulous and authentic. Excellent customer service. Going back this week!
Went on a Friday night. The restaurant was not busy for Dine in but had a good few takeaway/Uber Eats orders.
The greats:- Great customer services from the lone service personnel(lady), very helpful informative and pleasant. Helped with choosing the items and the quantities. Ordered Paneer pakora, Andhra Chicken, Meethi Matar Malai, Paneer Bhurji, Naan and Laccha Paratha. Taste of all the dishes were good to great, portion good and the prices reasonable for Dine in Indian restaurant. Couldn't have been any less.
Room for improvement: Waiting time between ordering to the items arriving. Lot of work needs done to reduce it to less than quarter of what it is now. Brace yourself for a long wait now. I believe the restaurant has opened not very long back, hence some work in progress
Currently no Liquor served although has a sign which says " Liquor coming soon"
Quite a big Dining room with some artful, not so seen, traditional Indian paintings, photos and art work
Would easily get into by "Recommended" list
The ambiance of the place is great, customer service is very good.
Food price is great for what they serve. Both the curry and biryani taste great. Both dish were well spiced and the meat are tender and soft. The naan is both crispy outside and soft inside
When you order 6 items and cant decide which is best; now thats a good restaurant.iam a big foodie and not easily pleased when it comes to indian cuisine but this place leaves me speechless. The flavours are simply the best.
Just loved the food. Must try Andhra chicken fry & methi chicken...both were delicious .We tried biriyani & bhendi masala too ...authentic Indian taste. Only issue is the location of the restaurant.
Genuine "Indian Restaurant" food I've had in Auckland yet.
Got some Chicken Tikka Masala and Naan. Delish.
Naans were almost perfect; thin and soft.
I look forward to ordering more food from here.
This new joint has very authentic flavours. Set up in a quite corner of St Lukes suburb with ample parking, this restaurant has great ambiance with nice Indian tunes playing in the background.
Menu covers all the basic starters, mains and has some specialist authentic dishes and biryanis.
Keema pulao is my personal favourite and I can't seem to have enough of it 😁
