Great food and service, must visit place in Papakura. I ordered Seafood fettuccine with marinara sauce. loved it. prices are very reasonable.
lovely atmosphere, great food and service, highly recommend to all, our family enjoyed the evening, kids even ate there pizzas, food was bought out on time between courses
I've been here a couple times now and found the waiters to be so lovely and welcoming without overstepping and interrupting. The food is awesome-chicken tortellini is on point.
My family went here last night to celebrate a sisters birthday and I have to confess I was reluctant, as my experience of dining here some years ago was disappointing to say the least. However I and my fellow diners were pleasantly surprised as all our food was outstanding. I had the seafood crepe, followed by the calamari and both were delicious, the crepe full of a variety of seafood, followed by a generous portion of calamari although both were entrée size as I had requested. This was followed up by 3 scoops of melt in the mouth Gelato, which rounded off a delightful meal. All 7 of us were so impressed that we will certainly be back and although it was more expensive than our usual cheap and cheerful dining choice, it was well worth the extra cost. I just hope they maintain their currently high standard and don't return to their old ways.
Beautiful food, great wine and fantastic owner who always makes you feel welcome and remembers your name.
Have seen a very high profile celebrity chef here also who told us that this is his favorite escape for a meal. Can't really beat that review. Food is as great as it has always been... Yum
This is a great local restaurant - always friendly, great food. Great atmosphere, and a proprietor who is engaging. Love it.
I went here on Sat 3/8/2013 and found the service good and food excellent. As others have said, not Michelin star standard but the Scalapine Marsala I had was as good as any I have had anywhere, including Italy. Nice glass of house red wine too - don't know what it was, sorry!. My two kids (12 and 14) each had a pizza and both thought it was much better than what they are used to getting at similar restaurants. The décor is not flash but I thought the meal was good value for money and we would all be happy to eat here again
Last night my husband and I joined another couple for dinner. We had a bit of trepidation as online reviews were not particularly glowing but when we did a drive by earlier in the day the place looked cheerful and clean so we donned open minds and healthy appetites.
Firstly, the servings were all generous, the prices reasonable, and the hosts were very accommodating about serving three of us entree sizes from the pasta mains menu.
Secondly, the food would not earn three Michelin stars but it was very good and very satisfying and nowhere near as terrible as some of the online reviews would indicate (I wonder if many of them had never had authentic Italian food before but were expecting the very heavily sauced knock of versions of Italian food that we get in our supermarkets and so on). Later my husband commented to me that it was as good as any he has had at similar establishments in Italy. The pizza was particularly tasty!
Thirdly, the service was very attentive and hospitable.
We will no doubt return with the kids to sample more of the pizza menu and I would have no hesitation recommending this to someone who wanted a pleasant night out with unpretentious authentic Italian food. I also note that they do all their menu items as takeout - which is an excellent option for those frazzled nights where cooking is in the too hard basket.
My family and I had a great meal here last week, well worth a visit and can highly recommend the fettuccine Alfredo. The service was attentive and friendly, the atmosphere very authentic and the food was delicious. We were not rushed even though the restaurant was very busy.
Have eaten at Buon Venuti a few times now after a friend recommended it. I love the food. I have even had dinner there on my own once, it was always welcoming and very friendly.
I absolutely love Buon Venuti. We live in the area and have dined here, as well as take away orders, for years now. I have always found the staff very friendly & the food outstanding!! My father in law is an ex chef, he's quite picky about dining out when he can cook an amazing meal himself at home... he's dined in Papakura twice - both times at Buon Venuti. Its a small restaurant but the food is well worth it!!
Food was very good, prompt service. One let down, New Zealand wine. Would have liked an Italian red in an Italian restaurant. Other than that, great food and service.
Buon Venuti provides an enjoyable meal and atmosphere. The food is prepared on site by chefs who appear to be all family. Delicious Italian food with an expansive menu. Diners are treated really well and a good selection of wines are available to have with your meal.
